8:45 am
mountain snows sfo to start things off here. we actually see sunshine working its magic there not too shabby. so you watch be able to scrounge up a little bit of sun today before this system sets south of promise. and by the way, in its wake skies will actually open up. so in parts of the north bay probably get around 9.10, o'clock by be able to see the stars again. here's what it looks like on the east bay shoreline. some of that fog. kind of hanging around a little bit up to the aloft location. we've seen clearing their we see blue skies a patch there of so this with the winter weather we have up in the mountains. we have an advisory in place. 00:00pm tonight until 5 monday morning. there's the coverage area, the stop to the real, real heavy with this hit. but there is again more to be had upstream noting the winds. that's the first thing everybody is going to notice in the mid afternoon we got the strong onshore. winds covering from solano county, particularly down to the east bay usual. notice. then comes the front and that's going to drive those winds more coming from the coast. so sonoma
8:46 am
county and through moran, you can see right there. and that will be actually associated with the front and then the rain quickly follows. we have that spurred arraigned by again. this time period. it will be clearing out through a good portion of the bay, but windy and chilly with all of that, too. so it's really going to feel like winter or pushing this really an autumn with all of this, too as well. a couple spots will be left over tomorrow morning. so let's go and do it skies open up a touch this afternoon to get out of the way. here comes the rain patch. we'll put it around 5, 6 o'clock or so there's the coverage time opening up the skies overnight. now couple splotches here and there for your monday morning and on balance monday will be pretty mostly sunny. but a chilly start. it will be cool during the day with the leftover breeze 50's cover a lot of the east bay for right now, 60 antioch 40's remain up in the north bay. 55 meanwhile, for san francisco not great about a nickel around the bay. as you can see there hold. i'm up there to santa rosa. but there's more to be had upstream again. so there's the first tip that's pretty cold,
8:47 am
too. then a more juice here hit. looks like about wednesday, although not as warm or not as cold. then we see another one on friday. this appears to be a little better and then we get into the weekend with a colder system on saturday. they should just general projections. but the good thing to take away from this is major models do agree with these hits. the timing. a new wants may vary a bit and then all the way up to monday looks like as well. so we have kind of an active week coming up. that is nice to break into our dry season like this 4 zone forecast for sunday 61. san francisco, big change here from just yesterday almost felt like september. now we're walking into november 50's cover the coast 66 burlingame doubt of the south here. we got some lower 70's cooking here. 69 mountain view and the south bay us. try 69 morgan hill, 71 san jose 70 per cupertino east bay shoreline also around 70 a lot of uniformity with temperatures even though the rain is going to be late today 73 for tri valley 71 for walnut creek. 62 berkeley 64. working at 67
8:48 am
going on for fairfield. 62 for napa and 62 santa rosa, here we have in our active week ahead. we have bouts of rain coming and going as we walk you through tuesday night wednesday is another one friday into saturday. that's a little bit more potent by the end of the week. and in some of these, the air will be cold to send some mountain snow. so expect some statements on that as well. know. looking forward to it. >> well, slowly but surely live performances are making a comeback across the bay area, including more intimate productions across san francisco. one such production opened this weekend. it's called this is our youth director and actor of ajo. joining us now to talk a little bit about this process of bringing back live theater to the bay i know that it's been a tough year for performers for it's kind of an understatement to say it's been a pretty tough but you came out of this pandemic now
8:49 am
with this performance. and i want you to talk to us a little bit about what it took to get to this point. >> yeah. i think, you it was a really difficult, i think put together, especially live. yes, certain to the lot, you know. how the pandemic was going on with like also that the revival of the delta strain coming through how willing are ordinances to come together and it's the states that i you know, basically we just the deer to like masks vaccine mandates out the venue and then bringing together. we've >> we started rehearsing before you know, it's 3 weeks before and walk down it and we're pretty devastated because we're like 2 events. the characters are ready. everything was kind of sidetracked. but over the course of the year. side to start getting back together. we started doing it over zoom for quite a while. we got kind
8:50 am
of sick of that. so we took a break and after about 2 months, we came together started to get live together in real space after we got and since then, we've i think brought together something quite wonderful. so not. >> luckily been able to see. i saw the 1st half and it really is a great story. you're going to be doing this at i hotel manila town center. it's a pretty historic space. so what does it mean to you to be able to perform there because when you are just performing the act. one that was in kind of an outdoor, you know, the makeshift area for people to actually see what you've been working on and it was great in that space. but to now be able to have the i hotel manila town center. what does that feel like to be able to put it on there. >> yeah. you know, the makeshift spaces outdoors were really good preparation for i'm a seminole towne as well for i hotel. we you know, the whole vi that i do want to do with traditional theater. i
8:51 am
want people to come into a place where they thought it's like this is a theater. you know, i want people to come in and think oh, this is a little, you know, rundown apartment the i hotel the way that it's kind of designed is has a gallery space and it's may and it's really adaptable. and so we've done this kind of thing where it's like 70 black box the kind of within the structure itself. so it does feel like a guy's apartment when you actually their lives in the space. the way it slip that the props around you to weigh how how close you are. also to be to the production. and so the performance it's just been a delight. i think the last 2 performances people really enjoyed this committee feel of the area that space. again, i don't know. it just gives us like want. there's a warmth to it soon as i walked us that place, it just felt like i got to take a chance on this and try it this way and it's worked out. honestly like
8:52 am
it's just been so it's just been there's a way to that place. yeah. what are the stakes? why did you choose this story. this is our you tell us the plot too much away. >> of course. i mean, this is a really famous for actors anyway. he acted school go to some usually some guy. any any like young person's assigned a scene from this play because every scene in this place a mask. we the big one that gets the sign. does character. i play tennis his monologue, which is a three-page monologue right at the end. there is quite quite and quite difficult but climb as rising when you do see quite funny and sad at the same time. so the u.s. actors were anytime mentions when actually they doing. this is our youth. that just, you know, their eyes light up and it's been done previously by many a list
