we've already had a lot of rain. so we're just adding a big juicy storm on top of everything that we've already had, which opposes that extra bit of problems and you will see as we go forward. how this rain is kind of developing and coming together for today. probably a good day to get things done because tomorrow is really going to be sloppy all day. it looks like with atmospheric river in place. here's what we have. as you can see, some of the fog still left this is probably generated mostly from this radiation fog because we have so much moisture in the atmosphere here. we haven't had that for a while. of course, east bay shoreline is kind of walk a little bit. but the sun is just joining us. temperature checks mostly in the 50's across the region. not going to see a lot of mercury movement at all for today. current winds are somewhat benign, but they will pick up this afternoon will be showing you those projections. where's the rain as we speak. a few, the spotty showers up in the north. a bit further up to the north and you get to around reading. that's where the heavier doses pretty much of a west to east her directory. so everybody in the

bay to the south will probably steer clear of this until we get to tonight now because of the winds coming our way sunday high wind. we're looking at a wind advisory for sunday 05:00am to 08:00pm total coverage along with that flash flood watch is really we see kind of the yellows kuz. you're also in the wind advisories, you have 2 advisories in place a flood, flash flood advisory santa cruz mountains. you will notice there up to the north bay. good chunk of the north bay is involved in all of this as well. not as much in the east bay. although you're going to get some plenty rain with all this, too. so breaking the day down for you. lots of cloud cover. it looks like. and again, some spotty showers across the wider bay. but the concentration of the rain to called scattered showers today will be mostly up in the north bay for today. we'll have more on your coverage coming up in just a bit. well, well, well, dave, in the meantime, many counties and cities throughout the bay area. they are getting ready for the next round of rain. the last time we've seen a storm like this, believe it or not, it was in january. and

that atmospheric river we're about experience city and county officials are telling people to be prepared for anything from power outages. even the flash floods in some parts kron four's camila barco joining us live now from redwood city. >> she's got more on the preparations going on that way. camilla. >> yes. so it's dry here in san mateo county this morning. but as we know, that's going to change later today as well as tomorrow. but the good news is that sandbags are ready for pick up, especially here in redwood city. you can see that there's stacks of them here and county residents can pick up to at least can pick up to 15 bags and they're free and they're ready for pick up and they're here all round the clock, but can make it out to redwood city. there are several other locations where you can pick up sandbags in san mateo county. so take a look at your screen. these are the several locations where you can pick up sandbags. that includes grant corporations are in redwood city. princeton

corporation yard in half moon bay lan honda corporation yard in la honda. >> and has high school. now the sandbag can help you prevent flood water damage in your home so you can sit and simply place them in your front door or your garage. as a barrier. but the sandbags. there's a few other ways that you can prepare for tomorrow's rainstorm. take a look at this. for example, you can always have a flashlight or batteries on. and we've seen several power outages in the last couple of days because of the raid. so flashlights are good to have. you can also have some can canned food goods and water as well as a first aid kit your medications and of course, don't forget about your pets and their food. now, there were some. if you take a look at your screen. these are some of the weather conditions i saw yesterday. this is on southbound one. oh, one. the visibility was minimal. it was pouring and the roads were slick. so these are the

conditions that officials say to prepare for san mateo public works crews say that they will be patrolling locations prone to flooding will also be checking out the roads affected by last year's lightning complex fires. san francisco is also prep-red for the rainy day teams and their heavy equipment are prepared to answer to any downed power lines as well as keeping storing drains, clear of debris. now the city is also offering sandbags. people can get up to. 10 sandbags for free. they are being offered at the public works operation yard on the corner of kansas and moran. they're handing those out starting today and they're also out tomorrow from 08:00am until 02:00pm. all you need to do is just right. some proof of residency showing that you do live and san francisco so well. well, there's plenty of places that you are able to get. >> free sandbags. and it's the best way to prepare your home for some flooding. so.

>> you can see how dry it is. take advantage of window now because it's going to get sloppy out there. camila, thank you for that live report. >> pg e crews are busy preparing for this weekend's storm. thousands of people across the bay area of already lost power at some point this week from the earlier storms that we experience this yard in fremont is where the company keeps its equipment ready. if anything, it's damaged by the storm. the company says people should be prepared to be left in the dark. things like having flashlights with fresh batteries. if you do experience an outage trying keep your refrigerator and freezer doors shot. >> as much as possible. most importantly, if you see a lower downed power line always assume it's live keep yourself and others away and call 911 and p g any immediately. >> now the company says if you do lose power, it could be out for several hours. you can expect lots of pg e trucks and

[scream] get to wendy's and try our new hot and crispy fries for yourself. >> welcome back. 7.10, on this saturday morning in reaction is still pouring in after retired oakland police captain or see joyner was critically wounded during an attempted robbery at a gas station. here's some surveillance video of the incident which from start to finish last in less than a minute. police say 3 men approached joyner while he was pumping gas and tried to rob him at gunpoint. a shootout. then between joyner and the suspects followed. one of the suspects was killed. joyner was injured by multiple gunshots. he served with the oakland police department for more than 25 years as head of the ceasefire task force for some of that he retired back in 2019.

>> i think many of us. are particularly sad because we've seen for many years, the passion and effectiveness with which captain joyner worked to prevent gun violence from happening. >> joyner is said to be in serious but stable condition at highland hospital. the incident marked oakland. 100 15th homicide of the year. >> i serve community service officer with the san jose police department. he's been arrested and charged with gun crimes. amid allegations he actually advocated for killing officers on social media officials say 40 year-old and there's his picture right there. dennis shedd, banco shevchenko, i should say, assisted with traffic control and other non enforcement duties but did not have standard police officer authority. he's accused of possessing several illegal weapons as well as a loaded substation. he's also believed

to have written anonymous posts on the web site gab, which is known for its far right extreme ideology. >> i strongly condemn extremist ideologies and hate which have no place in this community. and will not be tolerated. just department. >> and that was san jose's police chief anthony mata saying the ongoing investigation will look for other employees who might be harboring similar ideologies safe. >> we're taking a little break here in the rain going on for your saturday. they'll be couple little spotty showers and portions of the north bay bay region. but up to the north, you can see a little bit the way some heavier rain there tomorrow. different story. we're going to be tracking all of that for you. let you know what you'd expect. the kron 4 morning news continues.

>> we have leftover. you saw the shot behind the anchors there. a little bit of sfo. no delays. by the way, there. at least not now on today. >> there's that fog that we talked about earlier along the east bay shoreline kind of covering things up cloud cover in place of the golden gate. now south of the golden gate today. you might see a couple little spotty showers, perhaps but you see the parade, the sun to going on up in the north bay again, kind of cloudy but not really much going on as of yet. here's what it looks like on storm tracker 4, notice the direction west to east. so we're basically haydn south until things start to happen today. we're going to get some the models. tell us a few again, scattered showers before the action kicks and basically overnight tonight is when it really will start in. it will be like the traditional winter storms starting in the north bay drifting, south. but it's not going to feel like a winter storm because these temperatures are going to remain mild air mass coming in from the subtropical jet like this. it's just very mild air lots of juicy moisture with it

and for the mountains will get snow but not as much as you would think by as much moisture as we have because us air is so mild. here's what it looks like throughout the afternoon. we see again, those spotty scattered showers up in the north bay that will continue into the night. here comes the first major hit probably about midnight or so going forward. it just continues in the north bay throughout the morning hours. drifting south by about noon or so watch the line takes a while to get down there to the south bay. as you can see continue to stream on in from the west. there's our snow coverage. by the way, one line a little bit more modest effort than we would typically get for winter storm again because of sarah so mild that puts us at about 5.15. that's rights will be somewhere in the bay area. with all that. the rain. now, we also talked about some winds, you know, power lines, all that kind of business. remember the error that the ground is so moist when you add these winds to already what's happened. this may be a little poor problematic. we don't tend to get property damage with the wind advisory. but it's

possible. here's what the winds look like by saturday. this evening at 5 or so definitely due south. the rain is already starting up in the north bay about to midnight as we talked about here's the heavy winds were talked by sunday morning at 9, 9, or 10 already building in some cases, winds will be in the 30's and 40's notice the direction of the arrows. they continue basically from the south even after the system has passed by the overnight on monday. we'll have a gradual return of an on shore wind. but that just came again continues to reinforce the point that this is very mild temperature wise air for today. we've got a few early raise a son going on. they're turning cloudy. if you're not already there, scattered showers will call it that late tonight. tomorrow the heavy rain predawn up in the north bay storm line drop south throughout the day across the bay really taking until probably nightfall to get on the south bay looks like next week. a stormy south bay start for monday. and a few showers late on tuesday. returning. but that's very, very modest compared to the program we've

already seen how much rain this model tends to sometimes overdo it a little bit. but our first wave. you can see not much is happening. then we get the juice. your stuff already by 9.10, o'clock tomorrow. we've got several inches up in the north bay. then when the whole program is pretty close to finishing. as you can see by midnight on monday. we have several inches of rain across the bay. there's a good chance we might get more rain out of this system this weekend. we had all last week for today. we'll call it 63 san francisco with early sun scattered showers. same deal for oakland and for san jose and temperatures will hold in the middle 60's. noel. all right. de we like to see it. >> can coronavirus coverage. now, new data from pfizer showing its vaccine is 91% effective in preventing symptomatic infections in kids aged 5 to 11 next week. an fda advisory panel is going to debate the study. the agency will then have to authorize the shots for kids and the cdc will then make its final

recommendations in early november. vaccinations could begin shortly after with the first round of children fully protected. hopefully by christmas. speaking of the cdc, a comment from the cdc's director is getting a lot more attention. doctor rochelle walensky says the definition of what it means to be. >> fully vaccinated could change in the future and it's kind of already changing at this point. this is more people are receiving their booster shots kron four's amanda hari spoke with local infectious disease experts who say changing the definition of fully vaccinated. >> might not be such a good idea. right now. we don't have booster eligibility for all people. i'm currently so we are going to we have not yet changed the definition of fully vaccinated. >> we will continue to look at this. we may need to update our definition of fully vaccinated in the future. according to the cdc web site about 57% of people in the u.s. meet the current definition of fully vaccinated and only 6% have received a booster. i think the announcement came a little bit

prematurely to tell you truth. i was surprised to hear that the fda and the cdc a cip, which is really our mean advisory committee for vaccinations are not at all convinced that everyone needs a 3rd shot, local infectious disease experts agree that this announcement was unexpected. doctor peter chin-hong says he believes the booster dose could move the vaccines from preventing serious illness hospitalization and death. >> to preventing contraction of the disease altogether. >> but with the rollout of the new series. it seems that our strategy now is to use it as a week to prevent transmission of infection from one person to the next right now. boosters are recommended for those over 65 immunocompromised and people in high-risk environments with more than 30% of the country completely unvaccinated. >> doctor chin-hong things they need to be the main focus. the reason why i'm worried is because we have

difficulty getting. >> millions of americans to get their first shot. doctor chin-hong says the science is always changing but changing this definition of fully vaccinated could be confusing to people and doctor monica gandhi agrees it will erode trust vaccines even further. and i i really want us to feel confident texans doctor gundy's says she doesn't see the definition change happening any time soon. luckily, we have multiple layers just like and government for checks and balances and we have organizations that are responsible amanda hari kron 4 news.

after earning a gritty 27 to 22 win over the california high school grizzlies on their senior night last season. this team could not win a game tonight. they are undefeated the big difference. head coach cj anderson. he is an east bay native and also a super bowl champion pro bowl running back. he is in his first season as head coach here. >> he told me he completely changed the way this program operates, anderson says the cornerstones of his team are hard work and accountability. he says he's extremely proud of how far he has come out. >> team is relentless. you know, they got the grit grind. believe all we continue to teach and coach the way we want to teach in coaching, get kids right to buy and what we're will be fine. i think the more of i trust coach, you know, all general fashion that that makes sense. you someone who will be there for on and off the field. academically, emotionally. so and that's one thing that i've seen from our team. you know, i think that builds up together. >> you know, try to put

>> yeah, that down the hatches. and this is going to be whole bay area wide starting up in the north bay. gradually drifting south throughout the day. let's go and check things out. we still have some fog left over on the east bay shoreline. you can see we're having our camera propped up here at u c berkeley on the east bay hills. there's the rain upstream you can see and breaks in the clouds. so actually see some sun to start things off about that. the forty-niners game not looking good at all. we've got heavy rain developing in probably the heaviest rain with that line dropping south, the window for that 3 or 00:00pm in the afternoon all the way through 9 or 10 really overnight for much of the south bay. so it's going to be very wet. we're looking at winds in the single digits for right now will be picking up a little bit by later tonight. all right. let's look ahead for your day today. got a couple raise a son going on early on. we'll get those temperatures in the 60's. get what you got to do right now because later on it will be quite josi. we'll have more on

financing district would help generate money to help pay for public parks and affordable housing around the ballpark, which is an important step in advancing the project officials with major league baseball say the teen could move out of the city if the howard terminal proposal does not go through the league says staying in the oakland coliseum with the team currently plays is not an option. >> the recall effort against san francisco district attorney jason to dean is moving forward on friday more than 83,000 signatures were turned into the san francisco department of elections. that's about 32,000 more signatures than required for a recall. the group safer s f without do. dean said nearly one out of 10 san franciscans signed this petition to recall him. city officials now have 30 days to validate those signatures. and if certified and election will be held sometime next year. >> for your money. there's another shortage taking across of the united states. believe

front and low dropping out of the gulf of alaska. but all this moisture is coming from the lower latitudes atmospheric river pineapple express, whatever term you like. but the issue is this is a warm winter storm. that means snowfall levels will be high. unfortunately, a lot of this. we're not going to able to store because with a lower snow levels get all that snow kind of kept up their all that ice and everything for later, use problem with the systems are a lot of it sometimes can run off a bit. now fortunately, our reservoir. fortunately our reservoirs are low. they can handle what and in only cause some local problems, but we're just getting hit real hard by this for after a week of rain. so that's what is posing some of the problems that you hear about turkey. the recently burned areas. a winter weather watches still in place up here in the mountains. this will be for tomorrow night through monday night. but again, it's very restricted in terms of 8,000 feet or above is what we're looking and they make pick up maybe perhaps 3 feet of snow from all of this going

started with the heavy rains all evening and overnight into monday morning. there's again that line across the golden gate. it looks like they the dead of night still behind it will be those spotty heavy rain showers collection amounts again, this model sometimes tends to overdo it. but for today's effort maybe a quarter of an inch of rain up to the north very, very light down south. the heavy rain overnight favors the north bay. several inches are expected just to that point. meanwhile, to the south still trying to work on picking more up then comes that heavier waves. you can see several more inches to be added even down the rain shadow the south bay around san jose. the santa cruz mountains the provides that bit of rain shadow perfectly with him. a westerly pattern. a longer here's the rain for tomorrow. there you see the heavy hit. it lingering a little bit on monday that will get a separate hit perhaps by tuesday evening. after that, we take a break for several days. obviously the sun come out a little bit here. siya system. couple spotty showers

will have a stormy feel no matter how you slice it looks like just tracking what we have right now. notice the direction pretty much west to east the intense stuff as well up towards the north and again will develop into spotty rain showers for the north bay that again increasing in intensity for the overnight. we do have the wind advisory. that's covers the entire geography from sunday morning at 05:00am through 8 o'clock. meanwhile, we also have a flash flood watch. now that comes out and yellows because this colored over the the tan color of the wind advisory that starts on sunday basically at midnight and will be all day. it looks like until the evening hours we're concerned about the burned areas up in the north bay. also the peninsula. so it is color coding there. will notice the santa cruz mountains and up towards the north bay. and we're getting rainfall amounts projected to be in the just from yesterday or for tomorrow, rather 62 by high noon or so 63 at 3. most of the bay you're going to be seeing mostly cloudy skies a little bit of a breeze but up

>> welcome back. at 8.14, on this saturday morning. we are letting you know, if you need to get some things to get yourself prepared for this rain. you need to do it now the rains will start falling later on today. this is counter intuitive day. but i actually go shopping when it's raining because it's not as crowded. so costco and i are best friends during stormy weather. i don't deal with those rat. wet roads, though. >> when will they start getting wet again. dave. >> well up in the north, they will probably start doing this afternoon. but it's really during the dead of night that the storm starts in the intensity will start up in the north bay and kind of drop south across the golden gate probably news time in the morning. we'll be seeing a active rain happening around the golden gate yet to drop south to the peninsula, east bay and then ultimately the south bay. it looks quite sloppy for the niners game going on tomorrow as well. here's where it is right now. golly. gee, i want to with

this is there you can see it's a there's us over there. so this time period is basically an all-day event. as you can see, where it's relatively clear before that system drops into town watching this projected forward. we have again, the scattered showers for today that will take us about 4 o'clock or so and then really it's the dead of night that we get hit as you can see shortly after the witching hour. mostly favoring the north bay can't stand over here real briefly there. we've got the heavier rains up to the north bay and that will be pounding throughout the morning hours dropping south during the afternoon hours still yet to filter in the south bay about 3.15, as you can see, then through the evening hours and then sunday overnight to monday morning. the heavy rains continue to the south, even portions of the east bay as well. but at that point, even by 06:00am or so starting to improve. but for early morning commuters, you still have it looks like quite a messy ride into work. secondly, i want to notice the snow that's happening in the mountains. winter months not unusual, but the deal with this thing is the snow levels are going to be very, very

high because this is a very mild to warm storm system. ideally, we'd like them to be much colder. so their go home or that ice and snow locked up in the bank account. unfortunately with this. you get runoff now. our reservoirs are low. so therefore they could handle the runoff coming in. but it still will cause some local problems. you're hearing about now. the winds part. remember, we've had a whole week of rain like this going on to add these winds to it may become a problem. so even though we don't usually get a lot of property damage with winds. you can have it with utility poles and trees that normally could handle winds like this. you throw this together with kind of basically it's like a batter is what the ground becomes. there's no resistance and things can fall over under a good wind. stiff wind. so by this evening we already see kind of breezy conditions developing notice the error was due south. then we get into the real real stuff overnight. as you can see, the winds start encroach into the 20's and they build beyond that here, the purples as we have 30's and 40's in spots going on. this is going to be

tomorrow morning even late in the morning, early afternoon. again, not risk much resistance from the ground utility poles and that sort of thing won't have the kind of resistance to work in their favor. so that's where may pose problems even though by definition. it's a wind advisory. so this takes us to about 2.45. we still have that southerly wind. but later on it will start flipping a little bit more on shore later on during the affair. so for today we've got a few rays the sun turning cloudy. we're mostly the air a few scattered showers favor in the north bay tomorrow. heavy rain predawn in the north bay drifting across the wider bay throughout the late morning, early afternoon hours. next week we have a stormy start for you folks in the south bay some chunks, the east bay too. but as the morning progresses, we'll see that dissipate and there's another window of opportunity for a few showers late on tuesday. separately not directly associated with this rainfall totals of the first batch happening this afternoon into tonight. very light under a dime. as you can see, except up in the north a

fully vaccinated might not be such a good idea. >> right now. we don't have booster eligibility for all people. i'm currently so we are going to we have not yet changed the definition of fully vaccinated. we will continue to look at this. we may need to update our definition of fully vaccinated in the future. according to the cdc web site about 57% of people in the u.s. meet the current definition of fully vaccinated and only 6% have received a booster. i think the announcement came a little bit prematurely to tell you truth. i was surprised to hear that the fda and the cdc a cip, which is really our mean advisory committee for vaccinations are not at all convinced that everyone needs a 3rd shot, local infectious disease experts agree that this announcement was unexpected. doctor peter chin-hong says he believes the booster dose could move the vaccines from preventing serious illness hospitalization and death. >> to preventing contraction of the disease altogether.

sandbags. take a look at your screen. these are some of the locations princeton corporation yard in half moon bay grand corporation yard in redwood city at la honda corporation yard in the honda and pescadero high school and now the sandbags help prevent flood water damage in your homes, you simply place them outside and against the doors where water may enter your house. but besides the sandbags. there's a few other ways you can prepare for tomorrow's rain storm, for example. has some flashlights and batteries on hand. we've seen several power outages in the last couple of days because of the rain. you should also have some canned goods water. a first aid kit your medications and food for your pets. now, take a look at your screen. you'll see that these were some of the weather conditions i was experiencing yesterday on southbound one. oh, one, you can see that it was pouring the visibility was minimal and the roads were slick. and these are the conditions. >> officials are asking you to prepare for now some detail public work crews will be

whole program. we're called an atmospheric river because this is coming from or the mid latitudes tapping into the some some what's a probable there's a lot of moisture with it. yes, it's juicy and so forth that also means snowfall levels will be high with all this going on even though they do have a winter weather as a storm. watch going on up in the mountains which will go to that right now. that's for tomorrow night through monday night. these levels will be above 8,000 feet is what we're looking at would like a little lower to kind of deposit that. but you know, the winner is young. still. they could get one to 3 feet out of all of this going forward and coupled with that that will have some wind issues to some very windy conditions are expected perhaps reaching hurricane strength in some spots in those higher elevations. let's go through these winds now back on the home front. nothing like that here. but due south, it looks like all day today takes us to the evening hours. that's about when the rain starts to pick up in the north bay in earnest and real heavy doses all throughout the overnight. everybody is going to be

windy. we'll have some rain spotty around elsewhere around the bay. but it's not until we get later in the overnight as rain start to filter through again. the heaviest stuff will be up towards the north. there's about where the front is notice all the arrows pretty much pointing south until it passes. we get a little bit more of an onshore flow wind advisory. don't you have property damage with this. but because the ground is so saturated, it doesn't provide resistance, so down trees and power lines are a possibility, which is why you hear but telling you prepare prepare. this is what it is for today. again, scattered showers, mostly up in the north bay with imbedded some moderate rain showers here we get to later at night and there's the heavy dose developing mostly north of the golden gate. for the most part throughout the overnight starts to sag south a little bit. here comes the front with all of that. and it's about game time for the niners a little bit afterwards. just heavy stuff happening down there, santa clara but still good piece of real estate still covered here as late as sunday evening overnight. it

continues at exit to the north bay a little bit. but still the east bay in the south bay peninsula early morning commuters. this is the messy issue will greet you monday morning. now, as far as rainfall collection with all of this. we 0 out everything right now to this afternoon by midnight tonight, only about a quarter of an inch of rain up to the north elsewhere. very, very sparse. then let's cover up that map. boom inches up here to the north bay. this is already before noon tomorrow down to the south. we're still struggling to get about an inch of rain. don't worry, we'll take care of that by the afternoon as you can see here in some locations. popping over 5 inches of rain, although again, the sometimes overestimate those amounts. but take with that in mind, though, looks like a heavy downpour and it's uniformly for everybody getting at that includes in the south bay and that rain shadow you get several inches now the longer range forecast. we get the activity this weekend. a lingering into monday. there's a separate system on tuesday. very, very modest. however,

regions. but dave has got the timing for, you know, you're in trouble when dave hughes is juicy haha. >> well, because, you know this air mass that we talk about winter storms frequently, you know, sometimes we can even get a dusting in our local mountains. but this go around. this is just a it's a to the air is warm. so therefore it's almost like tropical to getting a tropical system or if you will, in place. so we get the heavy rains and all of that and the mountain snows will be very high in elevation. it looks like about a 1000 feet is what the call is. this is what it looks like in the east bay shoreline. some of that morning fog looks like it's mixed out very nicely. to mostly cloudy. i guess we'll call it on balance today. but the sun poking out in spots, not much for the winds may be around the delta little bit, but it will be somewhat breezy today but not windy like tomorrow will be in. that will be all locations as well. so there's the blob a concern. you can see that big blob white out there basically west to east. but the front will then start causing it to sag south during the late tomorrow into the overnight a monday morning. so even as late as monday morning. early

morning commuters still deal with some heavy rain in some spots putting this all together, wind advisories in place for everybody that basically goes in effect sunday morning at 05:00am until 08:00pm on sunday but still quite a good clip of when left over for the flood watch that we have. there's a flash flood watch where the yellows are because that's combining the colors of the wind advisory, which is everywhere. we're looking at the santa cruz mountains and up to the north bay where it's the charred areas from the recent fires going on. so that's where this the all the vegetation has been burned away. so therefore there's no resistance in terms of flooding going on. hopefully that water be taken to some reservoir 63 at 1 o'clock by for cloudy skies prevail. again, we expect some light to scattered about rain showers going on up in the north bay for today, probably picking up in less than a quarter of an inch. but it's about midnight. it gets really, really active. and that will just continue to build throughout the overnight into sunday we're showing all those projections coming up in just a bit. well, will.

breezy, we take it out to 7 o'clock. that's a good clip going on out of the south and southeast as the system kind of hangs to the north. overnight. it starts to pick up intensity. this is the dead of night most the heavier rain will be up here and we're already in the 20's. as you can see for winds high teens and then we get the purples out here was trying to get in the 30's in the 40's that you've been hearing all of this prep stuff and that's partially because even the wind advisories, we don't usually see property damage with it. there's not much resistance from the ground. so trees and power lines can blow over much more much easier than they would under conditions that are this kind of win like activity. if it wasn't so moist on the ground this is what happens as we get into monday. we lose a lot of punch with the winds but still quite a good clip going on. so you have a little bit left over kind of unsettled weather to start your monday bit until that tapers off. so for today it's a few rays turning cloudy for most scattered showers mostly concentrated in the north bay tomorrow and

technically at the 12. oh, one or 12:00am. it starts to get the heavy predawn rain showers in the north bay. heavy rain rather and then storm line drop south across the bay throughout the day tomorrow. next week. it's a stormy start on your monday. and that's going to be concentrated in the south bay. a few little showers will happen late on tuesday. that's unrelated to all of this and then it looks like a break for the remainder of the week. let the system kind of catch up. let's see how much rain we're getting out of all of this. today's events, hardly anything very token amount. you can see spread mosobj up in the north bay. that's where picks up more. but then just wait. this is by the late morning hours tomorrow. relatively modest amounts to the south bay head. the already in the north bay and we're not done into the afternoon. there you see the coverage area so fair to say bay area's expecting several inches of rain from this weekend event money in the bank there. so for the forecast today. again, the calm before the storm temperatures mostly hold into the 60's with a couple raise a

more intense however, and it just continues from that point on wind advisories how it's being phrase here. this is not necessarily a high wind watch. but the effects of this will be a little different than a typical wind advisory because the ground is so wet. so therefore it's not going provide the typical resistance for telephone poles and power poles and trees and sort and such. meanwhile, we also have a flash flood watch. that's kind of an yellows here because they're also having the gray underneath here for the wind advisory that covers the santa cruz mountains off the coast down the peninsula and up in the north bay as well. we're really concerned about the burned areas, the charred areas, the don't provide any resistance member. all that vegetation is burned away. so the water doesn't get trapped at all. it just runs away like basically cement. meanwhile for the game. the forty-niners tomorrow. yeah. windy and wet temperatures mid 60's and the rain intensity would just increase throughout the game time gusty winds coming with that as well. when tracker right now only has single-digit hardly anything

of beer, meaning the other 6 gallons usually goes down the drain starting in january. the brewery will send the water used in the beer making process that doesn't end up as beer itself over to this new facility which will clean it so it can be reused. recycled water will not be used to make beer, but it will be clean enough to do other things like wash tanks and floors and classes it drops the demand for fresh water for doing simple tasks like cleaning and these other things that really don't need possible faulty. >> water for that purpose. andrew posner works for cambrian. the company that developed the technology behind the water. reuse facility actor and environmentalist. ed norton is on. cambrian is board and says what's happening here at the san francisco brewery should be repeated in other industries industrial uses of water. >> must take responsibility recycling that water and using it again, period. end of story and and it's not just the state of california and the

>> welcome back. it's 9.45 on saturday morning. i do feel like these clouds are getting darker as the helpers go on because this rain is slowly but surely about to creep in here. it's not gonna bother me so much because i party hard until i crash at 8 and now i wake up to rain tomorrow or goes to bed at 8 o'clock. and say i party like it's days. when we talk about the weather channel we're looking stormtracker 4 here in rain. kind of around us. if you notice this nice little patch outside the viewing area. so we expect some spotty showers going on in the north bay. >> but some breaks happening in the cloud. so enjoy the

sunshine, whatever you get from that because late tonight after will goes to bed late tonight for the overnight is when the rain will be really kicking in live shot coming in from half moon bay here as we can see little darker here in spots. but the sun is coming out. as you can see, some breaks happening in clouds. so what's doing it for us. this system upstream here we have a front, but we also have the supply of the atmospheric river and with all of that will be the heavy rain that has a lot of moisture with this system front drop south. and typically we get these lows coming up, the gulf of alaska we've talked about, hey, we'll get those mountain snows. but this is a warmer system by winter standards. so their go. we get the heavy rains and not so much in the way of snow to be locked up there. but there still is a winter storm watch elevation. 8,000 feet and above we could get as much as one to 3 feet possible and coupled with that. some very intense winds going on here beyond hurricane strength as a possibility for some of the higher peaks.

let's go in clock through our winds on the home front. take out around the witching hour. here's that strong southerly flow. so we're still on the warm to mild sector as the storm gets quite active overnight early tomorrow morning. the winds will be everywhere and then by the late afternoon getting into the evening. they searched start to subside a little bit and we're starting to get out of the wind advisory time period, but they're still quite intense to the south. as you can see, the purple indicating there and still kind of breezy for your sunday overnight to monday morning. so early morning commuters will have a little bit that leftover stormy feel if you're really early out and about starting to subside as the morning wears on. that's for monday. so again today we've got some showers working up here to the north. it's going to stay pretty much north of the golden gate will say and then late tonight, boom. that's when the real juicy stuff gets here and you can see the coverage area about 04:15am, start to get some heavier rains even portions of the east bay shoreline. more happening upstream. so there might be a little break in the late morning hours to around

noon before that front starts to drop. finally south throughout the day tomorrow in the one of the thing we've noticed is is this is a little bit more delayed than some of the earlier projections and its arrival. time to get out of the south bay. so in other words, the heavier rains. maybe we're projected to get out of the south bay early afternoon. now it's late afternoon, early evening, re freeze this for monday morning at 04:00am still quite active in the south bay peninsula in the east bay. even by that time period. let's take a look at our rainfall we're getting a decent amount happening in the north bay certainly spotted out of the south by comparison. but everybody springs alive when the storm system drops out. this is just by noon. and you can see several inches already in the north bay an inch or better around the perimeter of the bay. there we go. get those inland areas in the east bay all filled up to in the south bay as well. so areas that don't typically get massive amounts of rain from this looks to get the bonanza with all of this to upstream. what happens, ok, the big storm
