changing in a big way. we get into monday evening. a look at what we've got right now as we see half moon bay and there's the sun not see the obstruction of much the way of fog or cloud cover. >> and there isn't much near home. so today enjoy mostly sunny skies on balance. a few little passing clouds, just a little bit in the afternoon. there's your temperature check. upper 30's napa, santa rosa. we see some lower 40's well inland in the east bay even around the bay perimeter in the mid 40's along the east bay shoreline 47 down to the south bay san jose winds not doing much at all. so we had everything in the recipe. we need clear skies fairly dry air and not much the way of winds to allow that radiation cooling to allow some cooler temperatures today will warm up to the 60's. but actually a little cooler than yesterday, even though a lot more sun going on a little bit of a cool breeze coming with that. we'll get into some of the weeds of that coming up in a as we start your early week, sarah, thanks. day. we like the sound of sun, especially because happening today, the 100 for san francisco mayor

about this police friends of the victims as well as just people walking on the street to greet this situation is absolutely heartbreaking. the family was at the hospital and we asked if they wanted to say a few words. they said at this time they do not. we wanted to respect that as they're grieving the life of this 23 california highway patrol says a 23 month-old little boy is dead after a shooting on 8.80 saturday afternoon. >> they say they got the call around 2. this was the scene as law enforcement shut down part of the highway for several hours during their investigation. it was on a 80 by the 9.80 split causing traffic to back up. chp says the victims were traveling southbound near filbert street when their vehicle was hit by the bullet. they were driving this white lexus sedan. a family friend tells kron 4, they were headed home from san francisco to 6 people were in the car. 3 adults and 3

'09. welcome back. thousands of kaiser permanente employees in california are planning to strike starting next monday, november 15th union organizers delivered the news to the giant health care company friday. they say kaiser is keeping wages low for current employees and cutting pay for new workers while at the same time making billions of dollars in profits. the walk out involves more than 21,000 registered nurses pharmacists and occupational therapist across the state. kaiser employees in oregon and washington state say they plan to walk out as well. walgreens and cvs are giving out thousands of covid shots this weekend across california. cbs will start administering those doses to children ages 5 to 11 years old today. walgreens started yesterday. both are accepting appointments right now. all children, of course, must be accompanied by an adult. you can sign your child up for a shot on those companies websites date. >> chilly start today is we have some upper 30's in the

>> welcome back it's 7.13. and if you didn't know you, maybe you didn't know the clocks fell back some got an extra hour of sleep on this sunday. dave spahr is here to show us what the weather is going to be like today. dave, did you feel gun? an extra hour of sleep are not really. i did. i did. you know, in the, you know, the cell phones. you can even put them in airplane mode but they know they got to calculate it all out there. so yeah, it's a it's a good thing. yes. so you have to do any work in this modern age or things done for you. you know, except the mic way by going to change >> anyway. so we're looking at today is a pretty nice day, at least cause medically looking be a little bit of a chill thrown in there for good measure. this is what half moon bay looks like. beautiful there at the coast. so lots of sunshine happening there. even the golden gate bridge to. we don't see much in the way of our tip traditional fog going on here. look at that. beautiful sunshine. not much of a breeze either that comes later will throw a little bit of an afternoon breeze in this too, will be kind of a chilly breeze with all of that as well as it will be pretty much

of the northwest. so here's all the fuss. all this blob of activity. you see they're coming from the lower latitudes, meaning it's somewhat mild air support. and is this next system starts to make way, but they'll be some cooler air mixing in here aloft. that's also important too. upper 30's. you can see up here in the north bay. some of the inland spots lower 40's off towards the east bay east bay shoreline pretty much mid 40's. so it's a bit cooler across the region didn't have a whole lot in the way of winds overnight, dry air and clear skies all part of the recipe here. so for today, just a few little passing scattered clouds enjoy your sunday as we get to the evening oh, yes, some cloud cover overnight. it's just passing, though, however, it's not going to stick around and we'll start off probably your monday. pretty decently as the afternoon wears off the clouds will thicken and here comes the deeper moisture here probably around the start of the evening commute is when things do start, as i mentioned earlier, there's some mild air with this with some colder air aloft. that's a recipe for thunder shower activity. so we're throwing that in the forecast. so rain

perhaps some thunder showers may be mixed in with all of that. there's the intensity overnight very early on tuesday. it's going to be a messy tuesday morning commute. another wave, as you can see it with intense rainfall favoring the north bay. but we do see a little bit santa cruz mountains as well. then for your tuesday tapering off into the afternoon. one of the winds do with all of this. as i mentioned earlier today, kind stiff breeze out of the northwest. it's a chilly breeze. you know, most of the region's pretty much in the teens are upper single digits with all about. then we get close to storm time. that's a monday evening. very early evening. there you see it starting to get active up here in the north bay timed out with the storm cells. we're just showing you the most, the arrows they've shifted southeasterly. so at the surface, somewhat mild air with that mild air packages told you about with colder air aloft. that's the recipe for thunder shower activity. also, we'll see some mountain snows out of all of us to for today. we got a few passing clouds mostly sunny cool breeze and all that for monday variable clouds on balance is pretty

music fans like sigh and chase to let loose in. they're there to have a good time to vibe and it would not what we did yesterday. but things quickly taking a sharp turn around 09:30pm out of nowhere. just got crazy shortly after artist travis scott got on stage. everyone started pushing a cart that the crowd started surging toward the stage of those in your back. but couldn't move it all just a chance with everyone. >> at one point a woman seen going up to the stage screaming for help. >> and i know that the images we've seen are hard to stomach than i imagined surface specials now searching for answers nobody's harden more than family members houston law enforcement say they will not know theecause of death of the 8 individuals until autopsies are complete. >> i think that all of us need to be respectful of the families and make sure that we follow the facts and evidence so far little information from officials as to what exactly caused the crowd to erupt in

violence hoping a thorough and independent investigation will give more clarity. so focus on objective plea subjectively finding out and reporting what happened. >> how it could have been prevented lot of time and said a lot of unanswered questions answers. those left heartbroken. we'll have to wait for. >> officials have contacted 6 of the 8 families and are still trying to identify one of the victims. now they're also warning to avoid plane into rumors online but did acknowledge what about drugs saying there were several nar cans administered and that will be part of their ongoing investigation for now in houston. i'm monica madden. back to you. >> definitely something we'll continue to follow students, though, are back at yale back on campus after a bomb threat evacuated most of its buildings. police say the report of a threat came in at 2 friday afternoon. investigators brought out the bomb dogs to assist students spent hours outsize play chile as officers went through the

campus rooms going room by room, making sure everyone got out safely. it was a statewide effort with about a dozen different bomb teams, including the fbi that helped on scene. >> we also fire marshal with each one of those obama teams that checked the building. they're very good at what they they're good at going in and determine locations where something may >> the investigation continues on who called in that bomb threat. investigators say it was called into the non-emergency line which usually indicates someone from out of the area. the fbi new haven, police and jail. police say it remains a very active investigation. former raider henry ruggs will now face 3 additional charges when he appears in court. this week. he's facing 5 charges in total for a deadly dui crash last week that killed 23 year-old tina tintor. he was already charged with a dui resulting in death and reckless driving

2 charges are for his girlfriend's injuries. another is for a gun he had in the car. ruggs is on house arrest after posting bail and is being tested for alcohol 4 times a day. his next court appearance is set for wednesday. in the south bay san jose police found this gun during a traffic stop. police say a gang member from los angeles was driving with a one year-old child. and during the car search police found this loaded pistol in a diaper bag next to the toddler. definitely concerning. the kron 4 is monitoring adele. a developing story from the north bay petaluma fire chief leonard thompson was placed on administrative leave. in a statement, the fire department said they are shocked and disappointed that thompson was put on leave. they described him as a strong leader calming presence and a unified voice for all southern sonoma county residents. the fire department says thompson's leave has nothing to do with the

was huge at miller creek middle school and the demand for pediatric doses. it's very high in the county health care workers administered 500 vaccines of miller creek middle school yesterday just alone. officials say more appointments become available, but it will take time. doctor matt willis, the county's health officer says kids are known to be less prone to severe illness if they get infected with covid. >> we know that kids do end up in the hospital. 24,000 children have been in the hospital in the united states 172 families have lost children to covid-19. it is a serious illness and we know that we can protect them safely and effectively with the vaccine. >> this age group is getting one 3rd of the dosage given to teens and adults, but they must also get 2 shots at least 3 weeks apart. officials say the goal is to vaccinate. 75% of that population with the first dose within just one month before that winter recess. now the biden administration, its vaccine

kron 4 morning news in southern california. a brave dog is recovering from his injuries after he took on a mountain lion that got too close to his home. the pit bull is being called a hero by his family after defending their home and essentially saving them from the big cat. >> lauren has more from los angeles. >> today. this brave dog rocky is recovering, even playing again after going to battle with a lion. mary, what happened to your dog rocky >> kind of friday night security video capturing the

moments rocky's owner mary padres says she found a lion staring her down in the backyard. there was literally right here looking at and and i got freaked out and started screaming was humongous. it was huge. it was very, very scary. she says one of the family's 2 dogs. their 7 year-old pit bull mix rescue sprung into action right back and pretty much went up this hillside running. >> after the mount line, the terrified that he didn't know it was going to happen all like, oh, my god. i like i need to get him the family frantic in the darkness caliing for rocky and then going to look for him fearing the worst. we're very terrified that he wouldn't come back. they found rocky bleeding badly injured. his head wound so deep you can see his lake. you can see all the way down and it looked like his brain and the time or where his called mary says he needed around 30 stitches and

across california. but now for kids. cbs will start administering doses to children ages 5 to 11 today. >> walgreens started yesterday. both are accepting appointments right now. all children must be accompanied by an adult. you can sign your child up for a shot on the company's web sites. thousands of kids in marin county. they got their covid shots yesterday and will be doing that today as well. the county has set up several clinics for kids. ages 5 to 11 the turnout was huge at miller creek middle school and the demand for pediatric doses. it's high health care workers administered 500 vaccines at miller creek middle school and officials say more appointments will become available, but it will take time. doctor matt willis, the county's health officer says kids are known to be less prone to severe illness if they get infected with covid. >> we know that kids do end up in the hospital. 24,000 children have been in the hospital in the united states 172 families have lost children to covid-19. it is a

serious illness and we know that we can protect them safely and effectively with the vaccine. >> this age group is getting one 3rd of the dosage given to teens and adults. they're also getting 2 shots at least 3 weeks apart. officials say the goal is to vaccinate 75% of that population. but the first dose within the first month and that's before winter recess. the biden administration's vaccine requirement for businesses is on hold this morning. at least temporarily the ruling was just made by a federal appeals court. the biden rules would require businesses with more than 100 workers to have employees vaccinated by january 4th or be subjected to weekly testing republicans sued to stop this. and it's now on hold until the courts can decide on the case. thousands of kaiser permanente employees in california are planning to strike starting next monday, november 15th union organizers delivered the news to the giant health care company friday. they say

51, by the way, for san jose projections for today. few little scattered clouds make their appearance today. tonight, passing clouds clears up though probably by morning tomorrow. and then here's that deeper moisture. we talked about with heavy rain showers potentially a couple claps of thunder and winds will come with that. we might have some wind advisory talk as well. now some of this rain will be heavy at times and work its magic overnight. here's tuesday morning. you see it breaking up considerably. it's a fast mover. so in total we won't collect as much as of 4 is a little slower. it will also come with some mountain snows. but since this plume of moisture is coming in from the in may send those snow levels a little bit higher winds. we have them coming in from the northwest today. but then they switch later on out of the southeast here in the approach of this plume of moisture winds start to pick up quite a bit by tomorrow. so the evening commute you might start to see some you lay commuters mature to have some of those winds cooking here out of the southeast. by the way, the heaviest winds will

last night. police say it happened on mallicoat avenue around 10 o'clock again in oakley. lieutenant paul, the beard with the police department says when officers arrived on scene, they found 4 people injured with gunshot wounds. we're continuing to follow this story to get you more information. so stay tuned. >> when we got here, we found 4 people have been struck by gunfire. we were assisted by the berlin police department in contra, costa sheriffs a sheriff's office. ultimately to people would die on the scene and 2 people were transported to hospital with gunshot injuries. >> officials say the suspect has been arrested and there's no immediate threat to the public. we will bring you more details as we continue to learn more. and we're learning more about a devastating story. california highway patrol is investigating a shooting that happened on 8.80. it left a 23 month-old boy dead. chp says the victims may not have been the targets but just hit by a stray bullet kron four's. amanda hari has

and daylight savings time or do you want to get rid of daylight savings time assemblywoman lorena gonzalez, co authored the measure voters approved back in 2018 we have sleep experts. we have some medical professionals who think we really need to go to standard time year round. and then you have a lot of. >> parents in people who like evening activities who really want daylight savings time year round and authority we have as legislators, we have to get through with 2 thirds of the vote. >> so we haven't been able to get legislators to agree on one or the other because there are these long held. preferences before the pandemic hit some state lawmakers tried to get a measure passed that would have put california on permanent daylight saving time. but it stalled only thing we could do immediately to change it is by 2 thirds vote decide to go to standard time year round. and i just haven't seen us have the votes to do that really everything that's happened the last couple of years, maybe put this topic on the back burner. a little bit for the legislature.

this situation is absolutely heartbreaking. the family was at the hospital and we asked if they wanted to say a few words. they said at this time they do not. we wanted to respect that as they're grieving the life of this 23 california highway patrol says a 23 month-old little boy is dead after a shooting on 8.80 saturday afternoon. >> they say they got the call around 2. this was the scene as law enforcement shut down part of the highway for several hours during their investigation. it was on a 80 by the 9.80 split causing traffic to back up. chp says the victims were traveling southbound near filbert street when their vehicle was hit by the bullet. they were driving this white lexus sedan. a family friend tells kron 4, they were headed home from san francisco to fremont. 6 people were in the car. 3 adults and 3 children. the toddler was the only one hit a family

vallejo friday night. flight home. police say it happened on race avenue just before midnight. they say they were responding to a shots fired call when they found the man suffering from one gunshot wound. the man died sometime later at the scene. police say they're investigating the motive behind the shooting. this is the city's 16th homicide of the year. in fairfield. police are urging people to be careful with online sales, meet ups when you're going to meet up with someone you're buying from them or selling from them. make sure you do it safely because there was one that ended with a robbery and someone dying police say 24 year-old kamari a strange met up with a 19 year-old man to sell a car through the app offerup, but instead strange robbed and shot the man happened thursday on tyler street around noon. police say the victim died at the scene. strange was arrested friday and booked into the solano county jail for murder. that's why police are now recommending everyone to do these online sales and
