again, looks like pretty good for this weekend. lots of sunshine for you too. now a live look at sfo. no delays going on this morning. we do have bouts of fog here and there on storm tracker 4 pretty quiet. do want to note, though we do have some winds, though, up in the north bay a little bit. they will get to that in a bit. we have 50's and 40's mixture to start things off. actually pretty chilly given the fact we had some sprinkles going on. santa rosa at 42 tends to keep temperatures more uniform. we have anything that resembles kind of a rain event or winds. speaking of which those are the current winds up in the north bay. they'll be a little bit of a breeze going on that is offshore. that would be kind of a warning bell if it wasn't so much that we had recent rains to help out. here's a view of the east bay shoreline. you have some fog off towards the distance. but on balance sunny skies temperatures hanging in the 60's both today and tomorrow. a closer look at that forecast in just a bit. sarah. >> thank you, dave. 7. oh, one. and we will start with san francisco police arresting multiple people suspected of

robbing the the louis baton store in union square the crime happened last night around 8 ooclock in the video sent to us from one of our viewers, you can clearly see officers chasing down and then appearing to smash the windows of a silver mustang. it's not clear if the suspected robbers were inside the car glass of the on stories all cheddar to, of course, from those robbers in this video from another viewer. you can see another person fleeing the scene. look arms full of clothing and this was just seconds before police officers swarmed that silver mustang. the officers eventually pulled someone out of the war and are seen taking that person into custody. look at that silver mustang right there. now we've reached out to san francisco police for more details. but have not heard back yet. this is something we'll continue to monitor as the morning goes on. now for 15 days. all eyes were on the courtroom in kenosha, wisconsin for the murder trial of kyle

rittenhouse. the jury deliberated for roughly 3 and a half days before delivering the not guilty verdict. many are calling the result of this trial as an indictment of our legal system. but for others, they say they feel vindicated. grant lodes has the details. >> we the jury find the defendant kyle a great each red house not guilty. >> acquitted on all counts. kyle rittenhouse overcome with emotion after learning he is a free man. the now 18 year-old was charged with killing 2 white men and wounding a 3rd in the summer of 2020 during a tumultuous night of protests over police brutality just days after jacob blake was shot multiple times in the back by a kenosha police officer. blake's uncle was outside the courthouse when the verdict was read. how many cases do you need to see. pop. so other people walking out the door after murder, people that were either african-american or supporting african

>> reaction to today's verdict was mixed rittenhouse said he went to kenosha to protect property from rioters. he took the stand claiming self-defense shooting a man after he said he was bashed in the head with a skateboard. a second man allegedly tried to take rittenhouse's gun. a 3rd man admitted to pulling a gun first on the then 17 year-old. that's when rittenhouse shot wounding the man and running from the scene. he walked towards officers hands in the air told them what happened and an officer told him to go home. he later turned himself in at a police station in kenosha. the prosecution arguing rittenhouse was an active shooter intent on unleashing violence that night. but rittenhouse's attorney says he had faith. if the jurors follow the law, this would be the outcome if you're that state, you correctly result. i was crazy. if you read the statue correctly. >> he was legal. >> and having that firearm

indian tribes made their way to the island. and now, as you said, u.s. secretary deb haaland will talk about the work that needs to be done between indigenous communities and the federal government. now her visit comes after the biden harris administration met with leaders from the 574 tribes for the white house tribal nations summit holland was in attendance. she's the first native american to serve as a u.s. cabinet secretary. she will highlight the recent investments made to replace aging infrastructure and reduce climate change in indian country and hollande is visiting alcatraz island like sarah said on the anniversary of its occupation by indigenous activists. now the group of native american activists back then were called the indians of all tribes. they're still called that they want to alcatraz to claim the island for the indian people. the tribes demanded the federal government establish a cultural center and a university on the island for native americans. the occupation started on november

interesting kind of mixture of clouds and fog. we have to see some blue skies off to the distance. not much the way of winds but conveniently enough for the camera. we have some fog covering up the towers for right now. upstream. not much to bother us until maybe about tuesday are so big raised a little bit by little shower here. but beyond that, pretty steady state. it looks like for the week ahead and pretty much on rain-free readings are in the lower 50's, but we do see some chilly 40's up to the north bay. that's a little unusual to have a little sprinkle then or anything. resembles winds or rain, they tend modify and cutting uniform unify. the temperatures and conditions that we have so little bit cooler to start things off up in the north bay to start what future cast is kind of a snoozer take care of leftover low level moisture here and we go to the mostly today also into tomorrow. so great weekend except again, a bit on the cool side. want to jump to those winds, though. look at the direction the arrows are all lined up here coming in from the due north and also off to the east bay too. normally we'd see this and just a few weeks ago this will be a problem. but because

we've been lucky with kind of somewhat events here recently moisten up the ground here at the surface. we can take this. so there is an offshore wind to make note of in solano county, particularly a little bit off to the east bay and that's actually going to feel a little chilly a bit and even in the sunshine when you got a little wind going on there. so the breakdown this weekend is sunny and mild temperatures hold in the 60's for most of the bay. that means from the coast all the way inland early into the week. slight warming on monday that a brief shower opportunity tuesday. you blinked. you missed it, then for the rest of the week. it's clearing. but cool lower 60's even well inland. so it's going to feel kind of chilly as we go into black friday. by the way, temperature checks 65 san francisco 66 for oakland 67 san jose and across the wider bay. guess we have 70 at the santa rosa. but most readings will be into the 60's will be dancing and all of this coming up, your 4 zone forecast and take a look at that extended to see what's going on for thanksgiving. sarah. >> thank you, dave. >> now moving on to our

coronaviras coverage and a big decision from the fda. >> and cdc on booster shot just as the holiday travel season gets started. the fda approve booster shots for all adults. while the cdc lowered its recommendation for who should get a booster. they used the recommendation for anyone 65 and older to get an extra dose. but now it's 50 and older. so we've got kimberly chang to describe more. >> people are going inside more groups next week happens to be largest travel. >> week of the year. the fda move to open up covid-19 booster shots to all adults in an effort to get ahead of rising cases that health experts fear could snowball into a winter surge as millions of americans travel for the holidays. it's a really good time to do it. cases are going up and they're going up rapidly. they're going up nationwide. >> about a dozen states already started offering boosters to all adults on their own, including california. the fda decision means on a national level.

>> good morning and welcome back to the kron 4 morning news. let's start this half hour with a look at our forecast because it's some good news. dave sphar is in the weather center with the latest on some sunshine that we may see yes today and tomorrow sarah soak it up and it looks pretty good. going right into thanksgiving, too, by the way as well. >> 14 not as much rain coming up, our way as we'd like to see. there is a little bit on tuesday. it's kind of one of these blink. you'll miss of things. however, for today it looks like a lot of 60's going on and skies that will be mostly sunny, here's a little live shot at half moon bay already off to a quick start. we're talking about fog and parts of the bay area. and yet sunshine right here at the coast. looking pretty good at that. so upstream nothing's really going to interfere with us. we do have an offshore wind that is developing up in the north bay. that would be more problematic under a dry conditions spell which were out of now we have 40's going on up in the north bay. so cooling off last minute here. some of that might have been the last minute rain, too.

however, because of recent rains were pretty much in the clear for that starting things off with a picture. we have of the coast happening here at half moon bay. you can see the sun out doing its thing. most ratings, however, in the 50's so that cool to start the day. we did have some overnight showers a little bit. some sprinkles going on. very, very, very light amounts. but one or 200's of an inch of rain. there's your temperature check. most readings in the 50's. you can see, but some chialy 40's up in the north bay a bit as skies opened up in the predawn hours. winds for right now. there are some pockets of some breezy conditions that will pick up a little bit for this afternoon. but on balance mostly sunny for the region. 61 going on by high noon to 3. we're at 64. so we see that sun out there. you'll think it's warmer than it actually is. and tomorrow looks like much the same again next week. an interruption by a passing system. but on balance a lot of sunshine. but cool temperatures on the backside of that new system on tuesday with your forecast together coming up in just a bit. sarah, thank you. thank you. days.

>> 8 o'clock and we'll start with san francisco police arresting multiple people suspected of robbing the lou, the toe on store in union square. the crime happened last night around 8 o'clock. this video. i mean, right there where it happened. sent to us from our viewers. you can see officers chasing down what appears to be a smash windows of a white mustang. a look right there. you can see the smashed out windows of lou baton. it's unclear if that mustang right there, if that's the suspected robbers car glass all can be seen shattered not only by that a car but also by the store in this video from another viewer. you can see a person fleeing the scene. look at that with their hands full of clothing. that was just seconds before police officers swarmed that silver mustang the officers eventually pulled someone out of the car and are seen taking a person into custody. we reached out to the san francisco police for more details have not heard back yet, but that's a story we'll continue to follow this morning and into the day. for 15 days. all eyes were on the

courthouse in kenosha, wisconsin for the murder trial of kyle rittenhouse. the jury deliberated for roughly 3 and a half days before delivering the not guilty verdict. many are calling the result of this trial as an indictment of our legal system. but for others, they say they feel vindicated, grant lotus has the details. >> we the jury find the defendant kyle a great each red house not guilty. >> acquitted on all counts. kyle rittenhouse overcome with emotion after learning he is a free man. the now 18 year-old was charged with killing 2 white men and wounding a 3rd in the summer of 2020 during a tumultuous night of protests over police brutality just days after jacob blake was shot multiple times in the back by a kenosha police officer. blake's uncle was outside the courthouse when the verdict was read. how many cases do you need to see. pop. so other people walking out the door out the murder, people that were either

african-american or supporting african was mixed rittenhouse said he went to kenosha to protect property from rioters. he took the sands claiming self-defense shooting a man after he said he was bashed in the head with a skateboard. a second man allegedly tried to take rittenhouse's gun. a 3rd man admitted to pulling a gun first on the then 17 year-old. that's when rittenhouse shot wounding the man and running from the scene. he walked towards officers hands in the air told them what happened and an officer told him to go home. he later turned himself in at a police station in kenosha. the prosecution arguing rittenhouse was an active shooter intent on unleashing violence that night. but rittenhouse's attorney says he had faith. if the jurors follow the law, this would be the outcome if you're that state, you correctly. i know everybody thought i was crazy. if you read the statue correctly. >> he was legal.

>> and having that firearm just nice to our individual mandate defend themselves with very system of this country or recognize the front and back. >> but not everyone agrees that justice was served we demand the federal government to and charge kyle rittenhouse with federal violations for his actions. the parents of one of the men killed by rittenhouse in kenosha in twenty-twenty released a statement after the verdict saying, quote, we're heartbroken and angry that kyle rittenhouse was acquitted in his criminal trial for the murder of our son, anthony huber. there was no justice today for anthony or for mister rottenhouse's. other victims. joseph rosenbaum and gaige grosskreutz. >> under wisconsin law, a person is permitted to use deadly force in self-defense. if the threat he or she is facing is equally deadly, but if you provoke the attack, you are barred from using deadly force and less you. sauce. did every alternative. so this

>> welcome back on this saturday at 8.15 and we're expecting to see some sunshine today. that's a pleasant surprise compared to yesterday. that's what we have. dave sphar in the weather center to tell us what to expect. days. sarah is looking marvelous bow today, tomorrow a bit on the cool side, we have sunshine and a lot of our cameras here. san jose state checking in with lots of blue skies as we go. >> however, the golden gate bridge, which is tends to be the case anyway. we've got fog going on. you can see the blue off towards the distance. little bit of a breeze start to kick up. this is some local fog hanging around there a little bit upstream. nothing's going to interfere with us for most of the weekend. this guy's going to be a minor player as we get into about tuesday or so temperature.

check 40's up to the north bay 50's cover good chunk of the east bay. as you can see, 52 for oakland 56 hayward and 57. meanwhile, for san jose futurecast for not much goes on some of that fog. also in the central valley mixes out nicely passing clouds pop or 2 going on by tomorrow morning. but the next 48 hour, time window looks pretty good. getting us into early next week. do want to know, however, some winds now. we do see them come due north. and this is an offshore wind event not just up in the north bay but also east bay. this would normally be some alarm bells for fire weather watching stuff. red flag warning, but at least we've had some recent rains in some moist conditions at the surface. so that helps out a little bit. we can kind of stomach this offshore wind. what a breath coverage or you can see up in the north bay and the due north direction so that wind will be a little chilly on your shoulder a bit. so the sunshine will come for you of that this weekend. it's sunny and mild temperature check in the 60's for most of the bay early in the week. there's a slight warming trend

on monday. then tuesday, a brief shower opportunity on tuesday. lot of folks may not see it rest the week clearing out. but cool high temperatures are going to slide to the lower 60's right into the thanksgiving holiday. but at least a lot of sunshine for all of that as well. 65 going on san francisco today 66 open 67 for san jose. we do see places like santa rosa popping about 70 but on balance mid to upper 60's as what you can expect. and we'll have more on this and the 4 zone forecast. we'll take a look at that extended to sarah. >> thanks, look forward to that. the deadline for federal workers to receive the covid vaccine is monday while the white house is stressing the importance of the mandate. the vaccination numbers for several agencies are lagging at this time. allison harris has more. >> 4 million federal workers must be vaccinated by monday per the president's order. president biden in patients with the pandemic trying to get it under control once and for all. with 80% of the

country vaccinated with at least one shot. but this morning reports reveal federal agencies falling behind was roughly 20% of customs border patrol agents unvaccinated about 20% of prison workers missing their shots and 40% of tsa airport screeners, not st covid i ga could not imagine. >> and the, you know, being in plays ari dealing with the pandemic. and, you know, having to navigate a personal choice that. you know, that could implicate their lives the livelihood for their the white house responded thursday to the oklahoma governor telling members of the national guard. they don't have to listen to the pentagon and its vaccine mandate for military. we believe continue to believe that no leader should be getting in the way of any action that will. >> ensure prevent or hinder operational readiness for our military us. >> it's an issue that extends

in new settings. county officials plan on monitoring hospitalizations. loral cases rates to determine when it ion - will be safe to lift the mandate again, the mask mandate will go into effect tomorrow. at 1159. >> another big story we're following this morning. the fda and the cdc authorized covid-19 boosters to all americans. >> another 18 years old and up. the cdc now says people that are 50 and older should get an extra shot previously the agency made that recommendation for people that are 65 and older. both decisions came down friday as public health officials sought to simplify eligibility requirements. any adult who is at least 6 months past their second shot can get another dose of the pfizer or moderna vaccine. california has already moved to allow all adults to receive a booster shot ahead of the fda and

cdc's decision. health officials say all of this is an effort to ward off a winter surge. as we've been saying, something everyone is concerned about kron four's amanda hari talk to a vaccine official about why this is so significant. the state of california had already recommended booster shots for everyone over the age of 18. >> but the doctor i spoke to said the messaging was confusing because it was different from what the cdc was saying. he says now that everyone is on the same page i think should be more clear all persons who are over 18 years of age can receive a covid-19 booster shot millions of more americans are now eligible for an extra dose. >> of the covid-19 vaccine. this new policy was adopted by the center for disease control and prevention late friday afternoon santa clara county vaccine officer marty fenstersheib that says with the holidays around the corner. >> it's time to get your booster the boosters takes at least 7 days to kick in.

>> so, you know, now's the time to do it. he says, although california had already adopted this policy. having the entire country on the same page is important. we don't live in an island here. and so we travel outside our area and people come into our area. it will also make it easier to schedule a booster appointment. i find the retail pharmacies. >> i'm having to adopt those guidance is because they follow directly from the cdc national guidelines of people when they go on the web sites shouldn't have any barriers from getting their vaccine. anyone who has received an mrna vaccine can get a booster. 6 months after their second dose. >> if you received the johnson and johnson vaccine. you can get a booster at 2 months. he says these boosters are important for everyone. but especially those over the age of 15 after 6 months. the level of your protection which are the antibodies that your body makes begins to drop. >> i asked the doctor if 6 month boosters will become

june outside candlestick cove townhomes in san francisco. the suspects pulling up in a car motorcycle and then walking over to the mailbox where president of the at candlestick cove. tony west of felt says everyone's male was swiped. >> one person pop some open. one person stays in the car and then the 2 of those other individuals take all the mail and packages and throw him into a garbage bag, then drives away. kristen boost kaye has lived here for 12 years and says the mailbox break-ins have happened 3 times this year alone. this is where the post office puts in their master key. she says this surveillance video taken early thursday morning of another mailbox break and proves that the thieves are using a master key. we want the locks changed out. somebody had their immigration documents were taken driver's license. you know, there's packages that are obviously. >> delivered. i reached out to the u.s. postal service to find out about these crimes. united states postal inspector matt norfleet told me over the phone that bay area mail carriers are being robbed of their keys more often. his advice to those experiencing mail theft is to not leave

heard from some attorneys who are weighing in on the rittenhouse verdict and the long-term legal ramifications that could have. the result is forcing many people to look more broadly at the legal system as a whole. kron four's. dan thorn has the story. >> the acquittal of kyle rittenhouse who shot and killed 2 men last year during a racial protest in wisconsin is getting reaction in the bay area. the oakland based anti-police terror project calling the justice system a system that rewards and prioritizes unaccountable white violence, civil rights attorney john burris says this verdict raises the question, if dangerous vigilante is being condone it. i was i'm disappointed that he wasn't convicted least some of those charges. but i'm not surprised given the man with the evidence was presented. >> the way to judge conducted the trial and the overall atmosphere that was center in about that. rumsfeld burris also points to a biased judge in this case the brazen with me. i have no idea why he

to interfere with us until again. we get to early next week. temperature check. we got the 50's 59 going on for hayward. still, those chilly 40's up in the north bay do want to point out there's an offshore wind that's expected up in the north a little bit. but because of recent rains in the low level surface moisture that we have that will be much of a problem. there you see some pockets some breezy conditions in the east bay too. a little bit around the santa cruz mountains as well. so the breakdown today 63 by 1 o'clock by 4. also about 63 pretty much wall to wall sunshine with this more the same expected tomorrow we'll get into the forecast coming up in just a bit. sarah. >> thank you, dave. san francisco police arrested multiple people suspected of robbing the louis store in union square. this was the scene last night around 8 o'clock in the video sent to us from one of our viewers. you can see officers chasing down what appears to be one of the people involved and smashing in the windows of a silver mustang. it's unclear if the suspected robbers were inside that car glass of the

loot on store. all shattered to in this video from another viewer. you can see a person fleeing from the scene. look with their hands full of clothing just seconds before police officers swarmed the silver mustang. the officers eventually pulled someone out of the car and are seen taking that person into custody. we've reached out to the san francisco police department. for more details have not heard back yet, but apparently there are multiple stores vandalized down there. so we will continue to follow that throughout the day. for 15 days. all eyes were on the courtroom in kenosha, wisconsin for the murder trial of kyle rittenhouse. the jury deliberated for roughly 3 and a half days before delivering the not guilty verdict. many are calling the result of this trial as an indictment on our legal system. but others say they feel vindicated grant lodes has the details. >> we the jury find the defendant kyle a great each

red house not guilty. >> acquitted on all counts. kyle rittenhouse overcome with emotion after learning he is a free man. the now 18 year-old was charged with killing 2 white men and wounding a 3rd in the summer of 2020 during a tumultuous night of protests over police brutality just days after jacob blake was shot multiple times in the back by a kenosha police officer. blake's uncle was outside the courthouse when the verdict was read. how many cases do you need to see. pop. so other people walking out the door out the murder, people that were either african-american or supporting african >> reaction to today's verdict was mixed rittenhouse said he went to kenosha to protect property from rioters. he took the sands claiming self-defense shooting a man after he said he was bashed in the head with a skateboard. a second man allegedly tried to take rittenhouse's gun. a 3rd man admitted to pulling a gun

first on the then 17 year-old. that's when rittenhouse shot wounding the man and running from the scene. he walked towards officers hands in the air told them what happened and an officer told him to go home. he later turned himself in at a police station in kenosha. the prosecution arguing rittenhouse was an active shooter intent on unleashing violence that night. but rittenhouse's attorney says he had faith. if the jurors follow the law, this would be the outcome if you're that state, you correctly. i know everybody thought i was crazy. if you read the statue correctly. >> he was legal. >> and having that firearm just nice to our individual mandate defend themselves with very system of this country or recognize your and back. >> but not everyone agrees that justice was served we demand the federal government to and charge kyle rittenhouse with federal violations for his actions. the parents of one of the men killed by

rittenhouse in kenosha in twenty-twenty released a statement after the verdict saying, quote, we're heartbroken and angry that kyle rittenhouse was acquitted in his criminal trial for the murder of our son, anthony huber. there was no justice today for anthony or for mister rittenhouse's. other victims. joseph rosenbaum and gaige grosskreutz. >> under wisconsin law. a person is permitted to use deadly force in self-defense. if the threat here she is facing is equally deadly. but if you provoke the attack, you are barred from using deadly force in less. you have exhausted every alternative. so this case was on the prosecution to prove to the jury. the rittenhouse provoked his victims. the jury did not buy that argument. happening today. indigenous activists are celebrating the 52nd anniversary of the american indian occupation on alcatraz island to commemorate the event. us secretary deb haaland will touch on the

progress made the justice and equity for indigenous peoples that we're still working towards today. kron four's camila barco has more. >> alcatraz island is known as the prison that housed some of the most famous comics. however, it shut down in 1963 and indian tribes made their way to the island today. us secretary deb haaland is going to talk about the work that needs to be done between indigenous communities and the federal government. her visit comes after the biden harris administration met with leaders from 574 tribes for the white house tribal nations summit. she was in attendance. holland is the first native american to serve as a u.s. cabinet secretary. she will highlight the reason investments made to replace aging infrastructure and reduce climate change in indian country. holland is visiting alcatraz island on the anniversary of its occupation by indigenous activists. the group of native
