>> from the area's local news station, you're watching the kron. 4 morning news at 7. >> good saturday morning to you. thanks for joining us here on the kron. 4 morning news. i know. well, bello, we're beginning with some breaking news this saturday morning. a fire in big sur dubbed the colorado fire has grown to more than 200, 50 acres and is prompting evacuations and palo colorado. it's been burning since last night. according to the national weather service officials, the fire has remained stubbornly active overnight. time lapse video where you can see the smoke billowing just over the mountain range there along the

big sur coast. flames are burning near rocky creek and palo colorado canyon. the evacuation order is for all areas west of 3900 palo colorado, road to highway one and south to brit creek. chp has also closed highway one at rio road just outside carmel by the sea. and andrew miller, a state park just north of big sur. there is an american red cross shelter open right now carmel of middle school off of carmel valley road. so if need a place to go, that is the american red cross shelter that's open right now. hard to believe we're dealing with a 250 acre wildfire in mid-january, especially after we had such wet weather at the end of last year. but i know it was extremely windy last night, which has helped to keep those flames alive in the overnight hours. dave, are we going to see those winds calm down at any time? point well, good morning or good morning,

everybody. it looks like we'll get some of that going forward, but it will be a breezy afternoon and they will continue to be offshore winds all over central california. >> this is what we have with the sun starting to fill up a little bit of the east bay shoreline as we speak. temperatures being supported. yes, these are currents 50's to near about 60 going on because of those winds actually very active in our north bay. elsewhere, the wind advisory has since expired. here's the current map for you. we had a wind advisory covering a good chunk of the bay. now we're down to a high wind warning covering mostly the higher elevations up there in the north bay. this a good stiff offshore wind at work here and compliments of the recent rains. we've had maybe proper fire situation is somewhat subdued compared to what it could be with we're a little drier this year. here's what the current winds are. as you can see on when tracker coming in directly from the offshore direction from the north, just about everywhere, a little bit of a you can see offshore wind also occurring on the east bay shoreline as well. going forward on storm

tracker. 4. this is what looks like as we go into the afternoon. 55 by 11 by 2, we're at 58, not bad for a day, however, but again, it will be breezy in spots, windy up in the north bay. and that will be around until 11 o'clock but still breezy this afternoon. more your forecast in just a bit. noel. >> he's absolutely the best person and we've lost a really good person. >> today marks one week since michelle go was killed. she was shoved to her death in front of a subway in new york's times square. the attack is reminding people of the rise in acts of violence targeting members of the asian american community go lived in new york, but she went to high school here in fremont kron four's gayle ong tells us how the bay area is honoring her. >> friends and community members gathered for a vigil in freeman friday night to honor the life of 40 year-old michelle go. even though i didn't know her i just feel

like she could be any one of and i just want to be here supporting family very, very difficult time on january 15, go was waiting on a new york city subway platform in times square when police say she was pushed in front of a train in an unprovoked attack. 61 year-old simon marshall who was described as homeless and emotionally disturbed, turned himself in friends say go was a volunteer helping at risk in homeless families. she also worked as a consultant in manhattan. go was born in berkeley and grew up in fremont. >> philip j knew her since middle school. everything that they said about her. it's true. he's absolutely the best person and we've lost a really good person. >> michelle was one fremont city council member to receive paying organized the vigil calling her death a senseless act of violence. the man accused of pushing go is charged with second-degree murder. police have not classify this as a hate crime but the asian american

community say this is another attack in a string of violent incidents targeting the aap eye community since the pandemic is in fremont. gayle ong kron. 4 news. >> well, today marks the 49th anniversary of roe v wade marking nearly half a century since the court's legalized abortion nationwide. house speaker nancy pelosi issued a statement this morning. she said, quote, roe v wade stands a pillar of health freedom for every person. but today, this historic victory now faces its most alarming threat in decades from white wing forces, including in state legislatures and on the supreme court. she continued on to say, quote, as we mark this momentous anniversary, let us renew our pledge to never relent in defending health freedom across our nation, wherever. and whenever it comes under threat, end quote. coming up later on in the show, we're going to take you to the march for life rally that took place in dc ahead of today's anniversary.

back here at home today is the big day for the forty-niners and the packers fans have been telling us all week how excited they are for this game to see if the forty-niners can do it yet again. many have already started making their way to green bay, wisconsin, for the game today. kron 4 sarah stinson joining us live in san francisco. she's got her forty-niners gear on. i know you're excited for the games >> yeah, i'm not usually wnke on saturdays at 07:00am. but when i am, i say let's go niners. i mean, you finally picked the right repbrter to report on the niners. why did we have will doing it all week? he's not even a niners fan given that here are moving on. we're talking about the niners because, of course there green bay right now and i'm dress warm because i'm getting in the mindset of what it's like to be there right now. it's 21 degrees. we think it's cold here in san francisco. yeah, not so much. 21 degrees and it's going to be dropping by the kickoff.

it's going to be 16 degrees is just going drop off from there and there. and there it's going to be a game that we're all going to be biting our nails on the edge of our seats. we know it's going to be a tough one it's a game. the packers they're going to be used to that cold temperatures, of course, their home field, lambeau field, which is called the frozen tundra. green bay is used to winning playoff games at lambeau field. jimmy g though, hasn't been to green bay postseason since 2014. now garoppolo suffered the shoulder injury last week. if you recall at the cowboys game, he says it's definitely impacting his throws. so that's going to be in adoptions going to mean we already had the thumb injury right? and he said that that had him adapt it every throw. and now the shoulder injury. on top of that, it's not great. and that has me a bit worried. but i think he's going to rally through and hopefully he just doesn't get any more injured week. i haven't pulled through on this one. aaron rodgers, the

packers quarterback. he has a little bit of a rivalry with our forty-niners. it's not a team first team type of rivalry, but it is a aaron rogers rivalry against the forty-niners. his memory lee vowed since >> since the forty-niners did not take him to be on the team and he's from california. he's from chico and he said he will beat the forty-niners every chance he gets. rogers gets his 4th playoff shot against the team tonight. now fans, they're not worried about it. forty-niners fans. we are so and from last game, fans at the airport going to green bay felt invincible against the cold and the packers. >> it slammed mean like what an experience going to see your team at lambeau. like for playoff game. that's a it's kind of a bucket list item that i can recall this. we're going to definitely win or come back with that w. >> they are. we don't not going all the way out there to the dep freezing cold today. and now we don't do that.

scattered clouds. i just want to note that a little bit. so on balance, pretty much mostly sunny. and a lot of folks are going to see quite a bit of sun. she's been today, but then again, the interruption of a little passing chunk of clouds as a possibility. look at these numbers here. goodness gracious. these are highs. these are right now due to those offshore winds. got about 60 of allay 59. the 63 per santa rosa. wow. 49 livermore. there's the cool spot. palo alto. 45 46 for fremont. not going to see a lot of movement with those temperatures later on today because the winds also act as an interruption for daytime heating as they do for cooling. but you see most of the callers ation is up in the north bay because that's where the heavier winds, by contrast will be for today in this afternoon. so just plan a little bit of a breeze cooking there in the shade, sometimes a little bit on the cooler side. again, noting this a collection of clouds kind of in our backyard a little bit will be more of a mostly sunny mode by comparison sake for tomorrow and also a touch cooler because we lose the winds overnight as well. a look ahead here. we've got

mostly sunny, breezy high wind warning up in the north bay. that's until 11. then tomorrow, sunny, not so windy. a touch cooler. 60 ish or so. and next week, pretty call close to persistence forecast here, sunny to mostly sunny high temperatures a minute about 60 all week long. it looks like for today here, 63 mostly sunny and breezy oakland at 64. 66 san jose. and again, the wider picture shows the middle 60's there. we'll have more in your 4 zone forecast and check out that extended to noel. thanks, dave. >> big development in the oakland unified school district. the teachers union and district officials say they have not reached an agreement on covid safety protocols and the union has started to go on strike if their demands were not met by midnight last night, those demands include weekly covid testing more high quality masks available for everyone and more action by the district to address staffing shortages. the district says its address those problems by supplying masks and tests. but

teachers say it's not enough. >> kind of a surge of covid in my classroom since winter break. i think i've had the first week 3 in the second week. >> i have, you know, 3 small children at home. there are teachers that are out sick right now. there are administrators, principals school staff that are out right now. so who is running the school? >> parents and teachers say they're following the lead of oakland unified students who created the list of demands and have organized several sickouts at their schools will continue to be following this as it changes. meanwhile, a 21 year-old man was arrested for carjacking someone yesterday afternoon in san francisco. police say the man walked up to the victim, stole his car at 7th and market streets. some time later. police say they spotted the stolen car at 9th and mission. police started chasing the vehicle

morning hours of the afternoon. still called breezy, but at least the advisories and the warnings and all that will expired by that point. >> what we have right now is a beautiful shot, though, the east bay shoreline. as you can we're kind of in the foreground here in the shadow, but off to the distance, you can see the sun will have a little collection of clouds pass on by. you see all the traffic from the pacific is far from home. the lowdown today, sunny to mostly sunny. we've got 50's going on to some lower 60's, which is pretty close to where we stand now. back to those winds, high wind warning up here in the north bay. this will be until 11 o'clock. it's expected here. solano county also has that advisory still cooking the wind advisory that's in place but elsewhere in the east bay, they did have one posted earlier that since has expired. our temperature check were in the 40's in the 50's mostly 50's over the real estate here. 63 santa rosa, half moon bay. kind of a 59 typical that offshore wind right over the santa cruz mountains like that as a little bit of extra compression. ul heating there. and the forecast today, 63 for san francisco, 60 for oakland,

san jose at 66 again coming up in a bit. we'll check in your 4 zone forecast and see what's going on. that extended to the well. >> thanks, dave ucsf, infectious disease doctor monica gandhi is hoping we might soon be able to ditch our masks. this is already happened over in great britain due to more people having been infected with the virus which allowed them to build up immunity both naturally. and with the help of vaccines, doctor gandhi projects it may take about. 3 to 4 weeks to see infection rates go down enough here for governor newsome to lift the indoor mask mandate statewide. meanwhile, san francisco public health director doctor grant colfax said on thursday we're nearing the point where we can stop calling this a pandemic and instead an endemic because the virus is here to stay. and we do have treatments for it now. >> what is endemic me? it just means the level of immunity is so high in the population that we have immunity against any variant that comes our way and we may still get infected. but

the severe disease should be protected accounts. >> she pointed to a study from the university of college. london estimates about 50% of people around the world have been exposed to omicron. doctor. gandhi says it's really good immunity even if the coronavirus mutates again, because many of us either built up natural protection against the virus now or doubled up with vaccines and boosters and many people having breakthrough infections as well. meantime, for other ucsf, doctors did sign a petition backing the move to treat covid at an endemic and scale back on restrictions. there assured the threat of covid has been reduced with the new omicron variant and there are treatments to combat severe side effects. the letter is directed at california leaders. it's p%sted to change, dot org. and it urges schools to bring children back into the classrooms. they're concerned about the state's restrictive policies saying more children have died from suicide than from the virus. and the

vaccines are working. >> number of kids who the committed suicide in twenty-twenty in california was over 130 and the number of kids who die from covid that year was around 10. >> the petition proposes lifting the mask mandate for children the same day it will be lifted for adults right now. that's february. 15th or no later than february 24th, which is 12 weeks after the last school age, children became eligible to get the vaccine. a new study by the kaiser family foundation says the initial enthusiasm over allowing kids to get vaccinated is already drying up and the rate of those shots has dropped significantly over the past 2 months. experts say misinformation is a big part of the problem such as the idea that covid doesn't make kids as sick as adults where that the shot can cause heart inflammation. experts say it's not true. in fact, you're more likely to get heart inflammation from covid. then

from the vaccine. state senator scott wiener has introduced a bill that would allow kids 12 and older to get the vaccine without their parents permission. that applies to any shots, not just for covid, including the flu shot or the measles backs a shot. wiener says kids should be able to get vaccinated without having to deal with backlash from their families. >> and they literally had to quit their job. where they literally can't play sports anymore for the council over any of their friends, homes. that's a huge impact. 92 on these kids. growth and development. >> almost 1 million california teenagers are unvaccinated against covid-19. happening today. a memorial service will be held in el serino for police officer jared bernstein. he was killed in a car crash on i-80 back on january 9th, which was his 26th birthday. bernstein joined the department in february of 2020. his

heal. >> incredibly, this film shows that plane and her crew getting ready for launch from the hornet on that very day. yeah, it was when he disappeared. and i it's. >> anywhere between a 50% chance that that is the day of their last flight. the navy has 2 tracker was built to find enemy submarines. >> during the vietnam war, the uss hornet was conducting anti-submarine warfare operations in southeast asia. >> and they also assisted in search and rescue operations for downed pilots. yes to tracker and 4 crewmen have been missing for more than half a century. >> but another has to was donated to the uss hornet museum and over the last 2 and a half years, it's been restored and he's even painted in the exact color scheme and markings of the long-lost aircraft. >> this aircraft has been restored with loving here, too, be a place for the families of those airman. have a place as a marker where they can know that. they can

interrupt a little bit, the daytime heating, but they artificially can support higher numbers like places like half moon bay, which you see. 59 49 off to livermore in. 52. meanwhile, san jose jumping up to tahoe. real quick as we look at the early part of the week and the weekend still going to stay in the 40's for highs. lots of sunshine to start the week. what's been driving things for us is a low down to the south. the height of the north provides the gear shifts to give us that good, brisk, offshore wind event that we experienced yesterday. and for today. that will be subsiding, though, as we go into the afternoon. however, what it has done for us is right on our air as we take a look into the evening and then overnight hours, usually this area should be all green. we talk about fog and such this go around. we don't see it all. green making its way known. so this would be a good strong offshore wind event. we see the same thing by tomorrow night as well. so it's going to be dry for a couple of days as we recover. let's look at the longer range forecast models here and right into the pocket here. let's get one here by friday. boom. that's

one model run. not necessarily guarantee that's going to happen. but so that put some hope on there. that will be friday. now a little bit more here to try again again. read the pocket boom, hopefully by early next week we'll get something out of all of this. but that's only been one model run that ending at right. 63 san francisco at the coast. let's do the lower 60's. not much moving from where we stand now, even on the bay side. 64 for foster city also mountain view in the south bay, looking at 66 santa clara, 66 for cupertino, mid 60's east bay shoreline, tri valley, lower 60's. look at 63 for walnut creek today. again, even though you're not in the advisory anymore, still going to a little brisk. 62 in terms of winds, berkeley, 67 vallejo, 64 for a nap up and 68 going on for santa rosa in the seven-day. generally speaking. it's a persistence forecast, but by the end of the week friday, my to do some work on that, depending on all the latest model runs are with the fairly dry air. if we lose those winds, we see temperatures fall into the 30's will do the 40's along the coast. well.

you. thanks for joining us here on the kron. 4 morning news. i'm noelle bellow. we begin now with some breaking news this saturday morning. a fire in big surge of the colorado fire has grown to more than 200, 50 acres and it's prompting evacuations in palo colorado. it's been burning since last night. according to national weather service officials of fires remain stubbornly active. this time lapse video where you can see a little bit of the smoke billowing there over the mountain range along the big sur coast. flames burning near rocky creek and palo colorado canyon. the evacuation order is for all areas west of 3900 palo colorado road to highway one and south to bixby creek. now, chp has also closed highway one at rio road just outside carmel by the sea and that andrew malaria state park just north of big sur. so if you're planning on going down that way, you're going to run into some issues. there is an american red cross shelter open right now at carmel,

middle school off of carmel valley road. so if you do need somewhere to go, that is there for you. it really is hard to believe we're dealing with a large wildfire in mid-january. there was another fire, smaller scale that was burning up in sonoma county last night as well nor the son of a fire saying it was a vegetation fire that was between 3 to 5 acres. so much smaller there that was burning on chalk hill road. it is contained, but it was being pushed by the wind. we had a lot of heavy win last night. dave spahr is here with a little bit more detail on when those winds are going to really calm down for us. hey, dave. >> hey, good morning. welcome morning, everybody. and still going remain breezy and dry throughout the day today. we'll get to the statements in just a beauty shot coming in from half moon bay. not too many folks out right now this morning as we can see, fairly calm seas with that lower 60's upper 50's. that's the winds supporting temperatures overnight. 49 going on for livermore in 52 san jose. back

to the winds where you see the darker colors up here. this for the higher elevations up in the north bay until 11 this morning. high wind warning and meanwhile, wind advisory remains in seminole county. that will be until noon now down the peninsula. there was a little bit also in the east bay. we had little bit of the way of some wind advisory activity, but that also is expired at 7. still, though, for everybody this afternoon, it will be a bit on the breezy side. they will be offshore winds in that direction, which is kind of a still shot. we see here you see the arrows all coming from the north and a little bit from the east as well. the santa rosa is kind of an exception. but generally speaking, you can see the offshore trend that we have in place. stormtracker 4, not much to see some scattered clouds. just want to make note of for today. we'll still call kind of mostly sunny going on and breezy with all of that as well. look ahead today were going to be pretty much where we are now essentially sunny to mostly sunny skies. high temperatures in and around 60. coming up in a bit. we'll take a look at what it looks like for your entire weekend

anticipating and green bay, though they're used to these cold temperatures. of course, it's in their home field. lambeau field except for by the way, it's referred to as the frozen tundra. so that's not intimidating at all. jimmy g hasn't played in green bay postseason since 2014. garoppolo suffered a shoulder injury at last week's playoff game against the cowboys. so i think fans are a little bit nervous about that. and before that, he was recovering from a thumb injury. he says both injuries affect his throws right now, but he's adapting and i think he's going to rally. he's going to pull through, ok, let's keep it positive. the packers quarterback, aaron rodgers, he's always excited to play against the forty-niners because he's got his own little than that. a rival reagan says he vowed back in 22,000, 5 when the niners past him up that he would be beating them consistently. rogers being from chico would have liked to stay close to home, but the drops and impacting for green bay where he's had a very successful career. but rogers, he gets his 4th playoff shot against the niners tonight, niners fans at the airport heading to

some high cloudiness just want to make a note of. >> but those winds will be around all day today, even though the advisory period, the warning up in the north, they will expire by 11 today, but still be quite breezy. there you see the arrows all pointing either north northeast or due east. >> santa rosa is the exception there. but you see these numbers of the teens, even so a little active on that front will be sprayed by some high cloudiness. just a touch for today. but on balance carrier shades around and prepare for some time that brisk wind at work here, upper 50's as we speak along the east bay shoreline. a chilly 49 for livermore there. 61 santa rosa with the bottle. 59 also for half moon bay. very typical that offshore wind for today. this is what it looks like projecting it forward remain quite active up in the north bay, even after the warning is over. still a little breezy in the east bay, too. and then some insulation down the peninsula. looks like to know we're going to be banking off of a dry atmosphere even through tomorrow. it looks like our recovery in the morning hours will be that grants. we probably won't be much in the way of fog here.

>> the state's largest power company is close to ending its probation period. but a judge says pg and e is a quote, continuing menace to california. the company was blamed for sparking several wildfires over the last several years, including the deadliest and most destructive fire in state history. kron four's dan thorn hearing from wildfire victims who say pg and e has been given a pass. >> u.s. district judge gives a blistering report as make a utility company pg and e is getting out of probation. judge william alsup who has been supervising the company says pg n a has failed and while on probation pg and e has set at least 31 wildfires burned nearly one and a half million acres burned. 23,000, 956 structures and killed 113 californians. some of those fire victims and critics of pg and e say the conditions of the probation should have been strengthened only because pg e

is a corporation that they are in charge keeping our lights on in northern california. >> that they largely have been given a pass. will abra his home in the 2017 tubbs fire storm abrams says pg needs structural changes and that finances for the company should be showing money going towards risk mitigation, not profit since 2015 state fire officials have blamed pg and e power lines for sparking the butte camp. kincaid zogg and dixie fires. >> the judge did not extend the probation because the u.s. attorney did not ask for one the fires that they have are not mentioned. >> in their wildfire mitigation plan, they have not identified. how are they are going to stop the types of fires that they've had in the happening in the future, judge alsup suggested the company be split into 2 separate utilities, one for the areas at high risk for fire and the other servicing everyone else

pg and e has argued they have become a safer company under this probation. but abrams says pg any needs to be held more accountable for the fires that continue to happen. >> because of them every time it pg breaks probation. >> causes another fire and goes down. this past victims suffer the five-year probation period expires on january. 25th reporting in san francisco, dan thorn kron. 4 news. >> vice president kamala harris came home yesterday to talk about california wildfires. she's a news conference in san bernardino. sheen out 600 million dollars in federal disaster. money is going to help california recover from terrible wildfire from the terrible wildfire season. nearly 2.6 million acres across the state burned last year. destroying or damaging more than 3,000 homes and other buildings. >> we are working with this funding to make sure that we're putting the resources

where they are needed to address the unique challenges the fires present. >> the money is part of a 1.3 billion dollars commitment by the white house to local communities. that's aside from 5 billion dollars in money to deal with wildfires. that was part of the infrastructure bill. meanwhile, california lawmakers are also working to enhance firefighting resources here across the state. senator mike mcguire met with a bipartisan group to discuss legislation surrounding a staffing plan for cal fire. the bill proposes to spend about 214 million dollars to hire more than 1100 full-time and seasonal workers. mcguire says it's crucial to invest in fire safety for california following several record breaking wildfire seasons. >> our state that's based on precedent, destructive wildfires, 14 of the largest 20 wildfires in california. history have occurred just in the last decade. mega fires are threatening the way of life for millions of californians.

>> thanks, dave. a final update from the fbi in the gabby petito murder case. the 22 year-old was found dead last fall. she and her fiance brian laundrie were on a cross country road trip being chronicled on social media. laundry was then later found dead after a global manhunt. we're learning what was in the notebook found near his body. pedro rivera has the latest. >> the fbi revealed friday that 23 year-old brian laundrie admitting to killing his girlfriend. 22 year-old gabby petito. the confession was made in a notebook found near laundrie's remains in october. agents with the fbi's denver feel office met with petito's family on thursday to inform them that they would be closing the investigation since laundry maybe admission 3 months after finding the notebook. in september. the parents of 22 year-old petito reported their daughter was missing after she in laundry went on a cross country trip together. however, laundrie returned to his parents home in florida without his

girlfriend. a week later, a massive search ended after gabby's remains were found in a wyoming national park. coroner's ruled her death a homicide by manual strangulation. what you guys >> gabby, brian. okay. before petito's disappearance. body camera video released by investigators shows petito and her boyfriend were involved in a physical confrontation during their trip together in utah, you grabbed the steering wheel. >> neither brian or gabby were arrested. >> after her disappearance last would not cooperate with the investigation, but instead would disappear into a flooded florida nature reserve near his home where search crews scoured the area. looking for brian. >> we're talking about levels up above almost the chest area. rattlesnakes moccasins. alligators. and these heroes go out there. while we can't change the outcome, we can bring justice.

tense a dry during the day. yeah, but night we usually recover. that's how we get the fog and all of that. these are very, very low numbers for an overnight, very first light of day. and we're still looking at 60's across the region. relative humidity levels. we look ahead into sunday evening and we're starting to get some recovery with some 70's off to the far east bay and 60's around the perimeter of the bay. okay. longer range forecast here. the first hope of the change is on friday and then that will be repeated on into early the following week. that's a possibility. we so long way off there. we'll see if that holds together. we'll keep an eye on. in the meantime, 63 san francisco, we'll do the lower 60's along the coast. pretty close to where the numbers are now. also lower 60's along the bay side, foster city. 64 in palo alto in the south bay will get to the mid 60's here. 66 santa clara also mid 60's on the east bay shoreline, tri valley, lower 60's. 63 of the walnut creek and concord. 62

>> from the area's local news station. you're watching the kron. 4 morning news. at know. >> good saturday morning to you. thanks for joining us here on the kron. 4 morning news. i'm noelle bellow. we begin this morning with some breaking news. a fire in big sur dubbed the colorado fire has been updated. it has grown to more than 1500 acres this morning and it's prompted some evacuations. it is 5% contained. so that's some good news. but 1500 acres. it grew overnight. it's been burning since last night. according to the national weather service officials. the fire has remained stubbornly active overnight. that's some time lapse video where you can see smoke kind of billowing there just over the mountain range along the big sur coast. flames burning near rocky

creek and palo colorado canyon. the evacuation order is for all areas west of the 3rd of 3900 palo colorado road to highway one and south to bixby creek. chp has also closed highway one at rio road just outside carmel by the sea. and andrew miller, a state park just north of big sur. there's an american red cross shelter that is open, but i'm sure people are utilizing its at carmel, middle school off of carmel valley road. so that is there for anyone who needs some assistance today. this isn't the only fire that broke out overnight. there was another burning in sonoma county last night. northern sonoma fire says it was a vegetation fire. ow to be about 3 to 5 acres. they say it was burning on chalk hill road. it's now contained, but it's one was being pushed by the wind. hard to believe we are dealing with 2 fires in mid-january. we just had a lot of wet weather at the end of

last year. but of course, that wind and we've been dry the last few weeks, which obviously allows for flames to a rapt. dave spahr standing by in the weather. so he's got a little bit more detail. i know those winds are going to die down later this afternoon. but dave, do we see any chance for relief in terms of rain chances over the next couple of days? there's a possibility by the end of the week we might get something something to watch out for. good morning. well, good morning, everybody. >> we'll see if that holds together. but we've had these offshore winds. all work overnight. >> and they will be here today. now we'll get that advisory in just a bit. here's half moon bay with us and appearing on through some of those high clouds because of the winds, temperatures of held into the 50's lower. even 65 going on up there to santa rosa. by the way, 57 for san jose. the wind advisory for a good chunk of real estate to the south is now since expired up to the north here. this is a high wind warning. meanwhile, solano county has that wind advisory that until noon, the high wind warning up

in the north bay until 11 this morning. but during the day today will still remain quite breezy over the entire bay with that offshore wind out of the north and out of the east, we can see even right now a little snapshot. we're in the teens. 23 mile per hour. winds up there around napa santa rosa as an offshore wind. now at this hour, we see that also off towards the east bay. this is also dried out our air and that remain the case throughout the weekend and even early next week stormtracker for what's going on. just some high cloudiness will be sprayed with today. probably a little clearer looks like tomorrow. temperature. check up pretty much. what you see is what we got. not a whole lot of movement on that as we continue to remain breezy in a little bit. we'll take a look at your 4 zone forecast and that extended a bit. well. >> thanks, dave. today marks the 49th anniversary of roe v wade marking nearly half a century since the court legalized abortion nationwide. house speaker nancy pelosi issuing a statement this morning. she said, quote, roe v wade stands a pillar of health freedom for every person. but today, the
