particularly east bay shoreline. you can see still some blew off towards the background as the son just gives us some light of day. a little chilly up there in the north bay, though, again, 30's, lower 30's at that checking in at 32. 33 santa rosa. 36 for contrasted with the inland neighbors in the east bay were also in the mid 30's, antioch, a 38. 35 for livermore east bay shoreline holding in the 40's. and 42 san jose just for comparison sake. a little chillier up in the north bay this morning by almost a dozen degrees compared to that, the east bay, where most readings or to single digits there of this is stormtracker 4. you kind of make out a little bit of the cloud cover to the south, particularly in the east bay. this is all with that low in southern california. again, it will be exiting stage throughout the afternoon, but throw a little cloud puff and therefore 11 o'clock by 2 looking at about 61. very pleasant saturday for you. a little bit more on your forecast in a bit. well, thanks, dave. >> tomorrow the forty-niners are going to face off with the los angeles rams and we're

>> educators and oakland are worried about losing their jobs. if you that schools with predominantly black and brown students are being targeted. and oakland school board member released this list of 2 schools that could merge and 12 schools that have the potential to close, including west lake middle school where timothy killings works as a case manager. i was very disappointed when our schools on the list. he says that his biggest concern is that he'll be out of a job by the end of the school year. there are closures or mergers. somebody has to go can be 2 principles can be to teachers can be 2 sides. teachers, people start losing their jobs. so, yes, we're very concerned. a spokesperson for the oakland unified school district says they haven't released the names of potentially impacted schools yet and had no update as of friday. out surely it surprise vice president of the oakland education association is now arming deer as says, the schools that have the potential to close don't just provide an education to students are also lifelines for the community. prescott, it >> west oakland as a community garden. they have folks come

and pick free food. so the school central role in supporting the community and says 8 of the schools on the list are considered historically black and have a high number of students of color. he says the school should have an impact report done to see how closures will affect students and their families. just to the fortunate that the district continues to trying to balance the budget in the black, the backs of black and brown students. the oakland unified school district has a special board meeting planned for monday to discuss the potential for school closures in san francisco. i'm rob nesbitt kron. 4 news. >> meanwhile, teachers in the west contra costa unified school district are looking into authorizing a strike. the united teachers of richmond union is demanding the district come to an agreement on their covid safety. they're demanding weekly covid testing and high quality masks for all students and staff. earlier this week, the union said they would negotiate with the district and threatened a strike if an agreement was not reached. by today. we're

storm. the nor'easter is supposed to dump snow on parts of 10 states. high winds and coastal flooding also forecasted for those states. more than 4,000 flights have been canceled even before the storm hit last night. residents were also preparing all day yesterday, just in case the storm keeps them locked in their homes all weekend long. >> just trying to stay inside and the warm, you know, not trying to travel to what's going drive after the of the road to do just that, that hoping to be ahead of it. >> at the front of it and get all the way to maine before it fully hits. because i think we're getting about 2 feet were likely in southern maine. so we should be there in time. >> for are just going to hunker down and plan the snow. >> cold weather expected to follow this weekend storm and potentially leave people without power. so there's going to be a lot of folks

general direction that lowest rejecting to the east. so it will be departing us throughout the day. the little bit of sun northern edge here. you can see and you can already see it starting to back off just a little bit to folks in the south bay will look for clearing skies and also a little chunk in alameda county for the east bay, a portion of the peninsula. you folks look for improving skies throughout the day today with those high clouds still in there hasn't penetrated as much of the north bay either mid 30's off to the east bay. antioch holds at 40. 33 santa rosa. 32 for napa. 36 ford with 42. meanwhile for san jose futurecast for to watch this kind of be part of our general area looking pretty good into the afternoon. but then as we get into next week, a great sunday, too. but here comes more clouds, scattered clouds our way. unfortunately, any hope of getting any rain out of this doesn't look like it's coming together. but there's a hiccup us having some clouds here for your monday and it looks like another dose or 2 into next week. as you can see, that's pretty dry with all of that. so pesky clouds in the south

bay to start things off vertically mild and nice temps will be in the mid 60's to upper 60's. again, we're looking for clearing skies to the south. mostly sunny, a touch cooler tomorrow. still nice with lower 60's, replacing that we can take it. and then next week, it's a couple of passing waves. that first one i just showed you for monday. then there's 2 other successive ones, number, none, none of which holds any real chance for us getting any rain out of it. unfortunately, for today. again, 62 mostly sunny san francisco. 66 san jose clearing and nice and open comes in at 63 across the wider board. again, we're looking at middle in some cases to upper 60's. we'll get more into that in your 4 zone forecast in a bit. no. thanks, dave. >> a frightening scene in pittsburgh when a 50 year-old bridge collapsed. the steel bridge fell about 150 feet into a ravine yesterday morning. a city bus was on this bridge along with 5 other cars when it collapsed. fortunately, only 10 people

suffered minor injuries. evan lambert has the latest details. >> back to steal a car flipped onto its roof at a bus teetering over the edge of where a section of the more than 400 foot bridge came crashing down over a popular park in pittsburgh. authorities say 10 people were hurt. 3 taken to the hospital. but miraculously, no one died. >> they rolled to the bridge down, which by my understanding wasn't a sudden drop or more from born. there collapsed. >> porter reason why i believe that the injuries we're in a severe as they could have been because it was sudden jolt stop. first responders force to repel 150 feet to rescue people from the stranded bus. >> and using a human chain to bring them to safety. the bridge rated in poor condition by pennsylvania's department of transportation. the city tells news nation it was last inspected in september. and in

it to us there. you can see it right off the coast of socal throwing up that cloud cover our way again. it's should jack tree to the east temperature? check at 55 at 11 by 2. we're at 62 some mid 60's to be had in the inland valleys. it looks like for later today. quick check into those temperatures, though. a little chilly up in the north bay with near freezing. you can see napa. 32 rosa. meanwhile, the east bay lot of 30's, 40 coming in for antioch. a 42 san jose forecast today is mostly sunny san francisco about 62 the south bay about 66 san jose in a bit. we'll get into it with your 4 zone forecast. a look at that extended. we have waves coming our way. unfortunately, doesn't look like any real rain with it, though. noel, thanks, dave. >> san francisco residents who received the johnson johnson vaccine and they're supplemental dose can now get a 3rd shot. the san francisco department of public health says they're encouraging health care providers to allow patients who want a 3rd shot to go ahead and get one kron

four's. amanda hari has more. >> the is that the problem of public health says a 3rd dose vaccine for people who originally received the change a vaccine can help reduce symptomatic infection. hospitalization and severe outcome from the omicron variant which i'm told is still a concern. >> the more times you remind the immune system, the more robust it can protect you for the future. so getting a shot, a k a booster makes a lot of sense. biologically to me, the san francisco department of public health put out advisory that residents who got the johnson johnson janssen coronavirus vaccine. >> and have received their supplemental dose can get a 3rd shot. the vaccine was once thought to be a one-dose option. but health officials recommended supplementation. i think it's understandable if people feel a little bit, i'm disappointed or anxious that.

>> you know, guidance is change. ucsf, infectious disease specialist doctor peter chin-hong. >> says the guidance has changed because we've learned more about covid-19 and about its variants. we have to update on knowledge all the time. the recommendation is that the 3rd dose is at least 5 months after the supplemental dose and only used in those 18 and older they want to utilize the pfizer vaccine because it has full fda approval. doctor chin-hong says, well, guidance can continue to change based on how the virus mutates. he does not expect people additional dose every few people worry that we'll be having of 4th and 5th to 16 vaccine. but really, if you want to pick. >> magic numbers really 3. that's how many many vaccines are given to think about it. measles, mumps and rubella, hepatitis b, human papilloma virus. well, this is just for san francisco residents right

now. >> doctor chin-hong tells me he believes that other areas will follow san francisco's lead. amanda hari kron, 4 news. >> 2 important announcements from covid-19 vaccine maker moderna this week. first, the pharmaceutical company says the effectiveness of its booster shot against the omicron variant begins to diminish after about 6 months. the company says data shows the decline happens more quickly than against the original strain. measure also says it started a clinical trial of a booster that specifically targets the omicron variant. well, you may soon get a tax credit for donating blood. a state lawmaker has introduced a bill that would provide a $500 tax credit if you donate blood. at least 4 times in a calendar year, the legislation aims to ease the current blood crisis in california and across the nation. earlier this month, the american red cross announced it was facing its worst blood shortage and more than a decade. the

year this weekend. the city of san francisco ready to ring in the year of the tiger with statues all across the city. there are 6 life-sized teicher statues scattered across san francisco right now will be on display through february 19. you can find them at the chase center union square ports not square outside the asian art museum and stonestown galleria as well as outside the lucky supermarket onslow avenue near sfs. you according to the chinese chamber of commerce in san francisco, the statue spotlight, local artists and they reflect upon the culture, people and traditions surrounding chinese new year. there's also a contest. you can take pictures and if you tagged tiger on parade, you get entered into a contest for like a t-shirt or a some tickets to the asian art museum. so i'm definitely go ahead and enjoy your day. it's a beautiful day to get out there and explore and try and find some of those tigers sunday. was great today. yeah, we've got temperatures will be plowing right through the 60's this afternoon. >> we are negotiating to a

were this time from yesterday. there it is. the low pressure system to the south will be departing the cloud cover with in the south bay and peninsula as well. we'll go with mostly sunny on balance today by high noon. we're scratching into 60 looking for the mid 60's for highs today over good piece of real estate. coming up and be a bit a little bit more on your saturday forecast. noel. >> thanks, dave. over in the east bay, parents and teachers in oakland are concerned about the possibility of some school closures. rumors have been looming all week long that there will be closures are mergers within the oakland unified school district. a representative from the teachers union is speaking out. kron four's rob nesbitt has that report. >> educators and oakland are worried about losing their jobs and feel that schools with predominantly black and brown students are being targeted. and oakland school board member released this list of 2 schools that could merge and 12 schools that have the potential to close, including west lake middle school where timothy killings works as a case manager. i was

very disappointed when our schools on the list. he says that his biggest concern is that he'll be out of a job by the end of the school year. there are closures or mergers. somebody has to go can be 2 principles can be to teachers can be 2 sides. teachers, people start losing their jobs. so, yes, we're very concerned. a spokesperson for the oakland unified school district says they haven't released the names of potentially impacted schools yet and had no update as of friday. out surely it surprise vice president of the oakland education association is now arming deer as says, the schools that have the potential to close don't just provide an education to students are also lifelines for the community. prescott, it >> west oakland as a community garden. they have folks come and pick free food. so the school central role in supporting the community and says 8 of the schools on the list are considered historically black and have a high number of students of color. he says the school should have an impact report done to see how closures will

affect students and their families. just the fortunate that the district continues to trying to balance the budget in the black, the backs of black and brown students. the oakland unified school district has a special board meeting planned for monday to discuss the potential for school closures in san francisco. i'm rob nesbitt kron. 4 news. >> teachers in the west contra costa unified school district could authorize a strike soon. the united teachers of richmond union is demanding the district come to an agreement on their covid safety. they're demanding weekly covid testing and high quality masks for all students and staff members. earlier this week, the union said they'd negotiate with the district but they threatened to strike if an agreemen% was not reached by last night. we're continuing to follow this story. will let you know if there is an update. well, all eyes are on california this weekend as the forty-niners prepare to take on the rams. the nfc championship game set for tomorrow at sofi stadium in los angeles and some diehard

just a sea of red and golds. now, dozens of fans have already made their way down south. we've been talking about this all week. the pricey trip for some fans is worth it as of about an hour ago, i checked that the cheapest tickets for the game are about $550 on stub hub. and some of those go for over 1000. if you really want to watch a game up close now, think about also have to factor in the hotel, the airfare or the gas. if you're driving down to los angeles as well as the food and drink here and there. so this trip, it's definitely costing more than $1000 for some people, according to stub hub. sunday's game is trending towards being the number one best selling playoff game in history. of course, not including the super bowl. now the forty-niners are set to meet the rams tomorrow afternoon. as for the odds out, leave that up to the experts and the fans. but a

we'll take a look at that extended forecast for you and the 4 zone. 2 noel, thanks, dave. >> a visit to san francisco by an nba superstar has a board supervisor up in arms. brooklyn nets player kyrie irving. it's set to take the court against the warriors in a huge matchup at chase center today, irving is not allowed to play home games in brooklyn because he's not vaccinated and rules in new york prevent his participation and as kron four's dan thorn reports, some san francisco leaders are questioning if you can't play their, why is he allowed to play here? basketball fans are required to show proof of vaccination in order to cheer on the golden state warriors at chase center. but on saturday, those rules will not apply when brooklyn nets star kyrie irving takes the court in san francisco. the unvaccinated point guard is allowed to play as long as he tests negative for covid-19. just a basic level. we can't play his owner. would why

the 30's, though, 45 for antioch. 36 for livermore. and 43 san jose. back up to tahoe. looks pretty quiet. the next few days. there is a mention maybe by wednesday, a system that kind of goes are up and around us potentially may bring a little dusting of snow by the middle of the week, but we're looking at 40's down to 34 will be cooler back home here, too. by tuesday. wednesday, too, under mixed bag of some sun and clouds tomorrow morning. we'll have a little bit more in the way of some bay area fog traditionally around to greet us that again, clearing out, we should go back to mostly sunny vote for the afternoon. but the major players are low down to our south. that's throwing some high cloudiness our way. but generally speaking pretty mild for us. as we look, a lot of 60's again, dropping off a little bit as we get into early next week. this is what it looks like getting into monday. we have some cloud cover developing tomorrow night overnight into monday. temperatures are correct a little bit as a result of that. then another system i mentioned before a spray a little bit in the way of some dusting of snow for tahoe.

that again looks to be mid-week, not going do much for the bay area and then we get into next weekend. more cloud cover comes our way. the hope that all of this was we're going a little piece of rain out of that. but it doesn't look like that's coming together. 4 zone forecast for your saturday will do about 62 san francisco along the coast. what? we're 60 63 for half moon bay. 62 for burning dawn of the south. we've got 63 foster city, palo alto at 65 in the south bay mid 60's. for most the most part. 65 for cupertino. 65 also union city fremont 63 for tri valley. 64 for walnut creek. 62 for richmond. a lot of uniformity with temperatures. both at the bay and inland. 65 fairfield and vallejo looks like a 66 coming in for santa rosa. everybody gets a little temperature correction here we get past that first of system on tuesday, getting down to about 59. the next one is going to bypass those hit tahoe and potentially into the weekend by next saturday might have some more scattered clouds with all of the scoring on

>> 8.54 just about here on this saturday morning. and southwest airlines is planning to bring back alcohol service on its flights beginning in the spring. the airlines stopped serving liquor at the start of the pandemic in march of 2020 and it's kept that ban in place after a series of passenger disturbances. flight attendant union say alcohol should not to return to flight while the federal mask mandate is still in effect. the mandate is scheduled to expire on march 19th. the faa says roughly 70% of all in-flight disturbances involve disputes over mask-wearing. well, football fans, if you love chicken wings, be prepared to pay a premium for your favorite snack ahead of the 49 ers game tomorrow. and of course, the super bowl in 2

gear to get everyone pumped up for tomorrow's game. now, united airlines is the official airlines for the forty-niners and this morning, many of the faithful are going to be headed to los angeles. again, this fight leaves at 10, 50 this morning. and united is surprising. the fans on this flight with a pep rally now, dozens of fans have already made their way down south. and we've talked about this before. it is a pricey trip. those tickets are starting about 5 to $600 on stub hub. but you also have to factor in the hotel, the airfare or the gas. if you're driving there now, according to step hub, sunday's game is trending towards being the number one best-selling playoff game in history. course, that doesn't include the super bowl. the forty-niners are set to meet the rams tomorrow afternoon and the niners have beat the rams twice in the regular season during week 18, the forty-niners walked away with overtime win of 27 2.24. no, no. well, the question is will

determined the cause of death. kelsey currency has the details on the investigation. >> move your daughter. only your baby girl at such a ripe age of 23 years old and to be treated the way was treated by bridgeport police, 8 station and the department is unacceptable. according to the police report, smithfield was found unresponsive at her home in bridgeport, connecticut, early on the morning of december. 12th. >> a 37 year-old white man says he met her the night before on a dating app. and this week a medical examiner found her death as accidental. blaming a mixture of alcohol, fentanyl and anna hiss to means. but in an exclusive interview on morning in america with adrian baker, the family's attorney is demanding answers. there are parts of the story that don't add up. we know that learning doesn't use drugs, doesn't have to shoot using products. so the question is, how did those substances her body? the smithfield family filing a lawsuit against the bridgeport

>> and now kron 4 sports. >> the familiar chant of beat l a as the faithful sent off the forty-niners to socal for sunday's nfc championship this will be the 3rd time the niners and rams have squared off the season with the forty-niners coming out victorious in the first 2 games. as far as preparations for such a familiar foe, it definitely can be tricky. both teams know each other and are well aware of what worked and didn't work in the previous matchups. that being said it's a delicate balance as far as what to keep doing and what adjustments to bake quarterback jimmy garoppolo answer that question. here's what he had to say. i think there's a fine line. you know, the things that you did well in the past, you know, you soon that team. >> they are going to guess we'll fix those things. and, you know, get be ready for the next time. next time you but at the same time, like you're saying there's some things that you don't even watch it

again because they didn't work or maybe was bad timing of the call. whatever it is. there's a bunch of variables, but you definitely it. take both into account. >> also, both coaches very familiar with each other to we should mention the rams got in their final practice on friday. they have insisted all week that this sunday won't be a repeat of the previous 2 matchups this season or in fact, the last 6 in the series overall, which were all losses for la rams head coach sean mcvay said he's confident as long as his players can execute and play with the proper mindset. >> if you say your preparation is in alignment with feeling really confident the players ability to execute a their and also go play with a quiet mind. you know, that's that's what our guys have done. you know, they're put themselves in a position our work isn't done. we still have some things that going to be able to tighten up. but we know what a great challenge is going to be. but i do have tremendous confidence in this team and our players in the leaders that we have in that locker room and they've done a great job of putting in a

>> welcome back. it is 9.29 here on this saturday morning. thanks for joining us here on the kron. 4 morning news are about to head over san francisco international airport. there's some fun going on for forty-niners fans over there. dave's got a check of your weather forecast and whether or not anything is going to impact flights today. i don't think so. you know, they should be okay. no delays going on this morning and just some high cloudiness from a system down in socal, which, by the way, should the part. >> southern california, as we get into tomorrow, although today, quite cloudy. this is the view from half moon bay, as you can see, somewhat a pasty white skies. there you have it. the low wall while and up here to spring us with some high cloudiness, a time that that comes up. but it will be in a decreasing cloudy story for us for the day ahead with temperatures in the mid to even upper 60's in some spots. here we go about 61 o'clock and 4 at 62. thus the progress so far we have 37 chilly degrees up to santa rosa. but 40's just about everywhere else. livermore is also checking about 39. 40's for good chunk of the

peninsula. and 45 for san jose. so again, for today, we've got 62 san francisco open 63 66. meanwhile, for san jose tomorrow much the same looks like although cloud cover comes back again by tomorrow night and greets us for monday in little bit of a cool down will get into early in the week. we'll cover that coming up in just a bit. noel. >> thanks, dave. well, as we were talking about about a half an hour ago, a lot of people pumped for the forty-niners take on the rams tomorrow. some fans are flying down to los angeles. this morning. but before they go, united airlines is surprising them with a bit of a pep rally. kron four's camila barco joining us live at sfo. hasn't started yet. camila. are we still being quiet? oh, i can hear. >> we're still yeah. well, we're still being quiet right now because anyone in nobody here actually knows what's about to happen. but for the people who are watching san francisco international

airport is going to get loud any second. we're currently at gate e 3. this flight is headed down to los angeles and on this plane, there's some forty-niners fans and some of them are already here decked out with their forty-niners gear. and the surprise is that there's going to be a pep rally and here at the pep rally is going to be the forty-niners drumline the organization is also going to be candy out forty-niners year. now this is all to get them pumped up for tomorrow's game. and we've seen a few passengers already showing up with their niners in jersey and gear. we spoke to one of them actually just a few minutes ago. here's what he had to say about the chances of the team going on the super bowl. >> i think we are going to the super the the best. the 21 teams that won the first the first 2 games in the regular season. our 14 for the record.

so, you know, i like our history there with the odds. yeah, i think they're going to the super bowl. i think they're going to win it all. i think it's worth it. you know, it's the nfc championship. and so by stadium against, you know, are bitter rival, the rams, you know, win or lose. we're going to have a good time, obviously, but confident we're going to get that down. >> now he was able to get some tickets for the game right now. they're averaging about 5 to $600 on stub hub. and actually, some of those go over $1000. if you want to catch the game up close. but i mean, also have to factor in the hotel, the airfare or the gas, as well as the food. and if you want to have a couple of drinks now, according to step up, sunday's game is trending towards being the number one best-selling playoff game in history. but of course, that doesn't include the super bowl. now the forty-niners are set to meet the rams tomorrow afternoon and the niners happy the rams twice in the regular

public health says they're encouraging health care providers to allow patients who want a 3rd shot to go ahead and get one kron four's amanda hari has more from an infectious disease specialist. this going the public health says a 3rd dose vaccine for people who originally received. >> the change a vaccine can help reduce symptomatic infection. hospitalization and severe outcome from the omicron variant which i'm told is still a concern. >> the more times you remind the immune system, the more robust it can protect you for the future. so getting a shot, a k a booster makes a lot of sense. biologically to me, the san francisco department of public health put out advisory that residents who got the johnson johnson janssen coronavirus vaccine. >> and have received their supplemental dose can get a 3rd shot. the vaccine was once thought to be a one-dose option. but health officials

have recommended supplementation. i think it's understandable if people feel a little bit, i'm disappointed or anxious that. >> you know, guidance is change. ucsf, infectious disease specialist doctor peter chin-hong. >> says the guidance has changed because we've learned more about covid-19 and about its variants. we have to update on knowledge all the time. the recommendation is that the 3rd dose is at least 5 months after the supplemental dose and only used in those 18 and older they want to utilize the pfizer vaccine because it has full fda approval. doctor chin-hong says, well, guidance can continue to change based on how the virus mutates. he does not expect people additional dose every few people worry that we'll be having of 4th and 5th to 16 vaccine. but really, if you want to pick. >> magic numbers really 3. that's how many many vaccines are given to think about it.

measles, mumps and rubella, hepatitis b, human papilloma virus. well, this is just for san francisco residents right now. >> doctor chin-hong tells me he believes that other areas will follow san francisco's lead. amanda hari kron, 4 news. >> 2 important announcements from covid-19 vaccine maker moderna this week. first, a pharmaceutical company says the effectiveness of its booster shot against the omicron variant begins to diminish after about 6 months. the company says data shows the decline happens more quickly than against the original strain. moderna also says it started a clinical trial of a booster shot that specifically targets the omicron variant. well, pharmacy chains like cvs and walgreens have started handing out free. n 95 masks to people. however, they're a little difficult to get your hands on here in the bay area. the masks are coming from. the biden administration announced

a week ago it would be deploying 400 million free n 95 masks to the public. however, we've went to a couple of cbs and a couple of walgreens stores over in alameda yesterday. and they all told us masks weren't available. one woman who tried to get her mask says she's frustrated over the drama of having to wear them. >> we've been playing this game for 2 years. we're getting all kinds of different care act nobody knows what they're doing and that's what i'm >> both walgreens and cvs leaders say they are going to hand out masks whenever they're available. each person can get up to 3 of them for free. you can also get masks in target where they have pharmacies located inside. but again, you're going to have to wait until the shipments actually arrive. a federal watchdog monitoring coronavirus aid says it's nearly out of money. the office of the special inspector general for pandemic

recovery is in charge of catching instances of fraud pertaining to covid relief on thursday. the office warned lawmakers it's on pace to run out of cash by july congress. set aside 25 million dollars for the office to oversee various initiatives established during the pandemic. the government has approved roughly 6 trillion dollars in federal stimulus money to date. you may soon get a tax credit for donating blood. a state lawmaker has introduced a bill that would provide a $500 tax credit if you donate blood. at least 4 times in a calendar year, the legislation aims to ease the current blood crisis in the state as well as across the nation. earlier this month. of course, the american red cross announced it was facing its worst blood shortage in more than a decade. the organization supplies about 40% of the country's blood supply. but it has only been able to meet one quarter of the need. in national news, a 50 year old bridge collapsed

in pittsburgh just hours before president biden was scheduled to speak, touting the new infrastructure law, washington, dc correspondent jessi tenure has details. >> the president saw the damage firsthand as he made the case for states to take advantage of these federal funds. as soon as possible. >> on the other side of the concrete, their president biden survey disastrous proof of the nation's need for the 1 trillion dollar infrastructure law. it's incredible. >> this pittsburgh bridge rated in poor condition for the past decade collapse friday morning wrecking a city bus and several cars. but resulting only in minor injuries it comes to president. really is the president went ahead with his planned visit to pittsburgh, which calls itself the city of bridges and claims to have more bridges than any other city in the world. and no idea. and we're going we're going to fix them all thousands of bridges across the country will soon get billions of dollars from the new infrastructure law. the white house said about 5.5 billion will go out by summer. we donate headline saying that someone was killed when the

>> 9 of 44 here on this saturday morning. and many bay area families are going to begin celebrating lunar new year this weekend. the city of san francisco is ready to ring in the year of the tiger with statues all across the city. there are 6 life-sized tiger statues scattered across san francisco right now. they're going to be on display through february 19th. you can find them at the chase center at union square at portsmouth square outside the asian art museum at the stonestown galleria as well as outside the lucky supermarket on slow to near sf su. they all have different designs on them. according to the chinese chamber of commerce of san francisco, the statues spotlight, local artists and they reflect upon the culture,

people and traditions surrounding chinese new year going to be nice to get out there and take some photos with those statues. meanwhile, lunar new year celebrations are underway across the pond as well. london's chinatown is getting ready for its biggest event but festivities are but scaled back due to the pandemic. usually london celebration of chinese new year is the biggest outside of asia right now, the london chinatown, chinese association is busy putting up some new lanterns similar to our festivities. there are planned events over the next 2 weeks over there as well. restaurants and supermarkets stocking up to face the peak of demand early next week. that's going to be ours as monday night specifically is going to be pretty busy out there back here at home. dave spahr has got a check of your weather forecast. if you are planning on going out and enjoying some festivities shopping, that sort of thing. it's a good weekend to go ahead and do that. payday as doctor carl sagan said we all descend from astronomers. so yes, the future we're looking at today right now, the sun

midweek. and this by wednesday may spray a little bit of a dusting of snow for tahoe getting into next weekend. yet a 3rd wave will bring us some cloud cover. it looks like on saturday. this is all dry. it's just cause medic from our standpoint, 4 zone forecast checking in for your saturday. 62 san francisco keep in the lower 60's along the coast. 62 going on for burlingame heading further south. 65 for palo alto in the south bay. 66 for san jose. 65 to cupertino. in along the east bay shoreline, mid 60's tri valley. you're looking at about 63 or so. 64 for walnut creek and also for concord. 62 for berkeley and 65 one on for ballet hole in fairfield. 63 for now, in 66. meanwhile, for santa rosa. so again, a slight cooling happening up to the first little wave of some cloud cover and all the barking at everything. then the middle of the week, we really don't get impacted by the system that may get a little dusting to tahoe and then into the next weekend. it's more scattered cloud cover. nice. little warm up

happens in the wake of that cool down. however, we get back in the business of the mid 60's but watch inland. a little chilly at night as we return to the 30's snow. well, thanks, dave. >> for your money today, natural gas prices are spiking as a blizzard moves in on the northeastern united states prices surged 12% yesterday going as high as $4.88 per million british thermal units. that's the highest level since last november industry insiders say the spike comes as natural gas production maxed out while demand continues to rise, the search could result in higher heating bills for more than 10 million people across 10 states who are now under that blizzard warning. the faa ver izon and atnt strike an agreement on 5 g service. the faa says. >> the company's shared more accurate information about the locations of wireless transmitters and gave some stronger analysis of how 5 g might interact with planes.
