>> good evening and thanks for joining us for kron. 4 news at 6 o'clock. i'm ken wayne and i'm pam moore. we are just moments away from president joe biden's first state of the union address. initially tonight's speech was going to highlight the improvin outlook on the coronavirus. it was going to rebrand biden's domestic policy priorities as a way to try and lower costs for families grappling with soaring inflation but of course, a lot has changed in the last few days. the speech is taking on new significance with the last week's invasion by russia of ukraine. >> let's take you live now inside the house chamber in washington, dc you can see nancy pelosi up there on the right. kamala harris, the vice president on the left both standing by. we're moments away from the arrival of the president, the supreme court justices have been ushered in

as well as members of the president's cabinet today are all taking their seats and members from both senate and the house are together in the house chambers waiting for the speech to start. senator ted cruz said lindsey graham among those standing by waiting to hear more. of course, this is a national speech, but this time it has worldwide implications like it hasn't had in many, many years. you're looking at some numbers now. the >> supreme court, the supreme court justices, of course, there will be an opening when justice breyer steps down the nominee, we're told, will also be at the state of the union address today. the first black woman to be nominated such a position. many historic things to deal with in this speech tonight. but mostly it will be dominated. we expect by the russian invasion of ukraine. we're expecting the president to have rather a stern remarks regarding russia in particular regarding vladimir putin. the russian president. >> about the russian invasion of ukraine. that is still ongoing as we speak, which is going to be a.

country will reach a point across that went across the next couple of weeks. thanks to the progress we made in the past year. covid-19, no longer need control our lives. i know some are talking about living with covid-19. but tonight i say. we never will just accept living with covid-19. we'll continue to combat the virus as we do other diseases. and because this virus mutates and spreads, we have to stay on guard. here are 4 common sense steps as we move forward safely. in my view, first. stay protected with vaccines and treatments. we know incredibly effective. vaccines are if you're vaccinated and boosted, you have the highest degree of protection. we will never give up and vaccinating more americans. now i know parents of kids under 5 are eager to see their vaccines authorized for the children. scientists are working hard to get that done will be ready with plenty of vaccines if and when they do. we're already.
