coastal drizzle going on there. so it's not your imagination if you're along the coast to sf and you have the little bit of drizzle work in the windshield a bit. yes, that's along with the package. but the deeper stuff still out to sea temperature. check for you at this hour. actually mild to start things off. lower 50's off to the east bay 40's up in the north bay. 53 hayward, 51 san jose. give me the contrast numbers. this time yesterday, half a dozen degrees ahead of we there were this time from yesterday with the package. we talked about winds as well, east bay hills, also along the santa cruz mountains and the coast along the peninsula. you're looking at winds today. the wind advisory, it technically kicks in this afternoon and will be around all over night until 05:00am on monday. the fog, what we have will mix out fairly quickly under overcast skies are mostly cloudy. look at that at 6.45. or so interesting. yeah, this is a rival of rain. it completely mir's what we will be getting for that line of rain across the bay about sunset. the

breakdown for you today. we've got mostly cloudy skies on tap temperatures getting into the middle 60's. more coming up in a bit. camilla. >> all right. thanks, dave. breaking news out of the south bay right now, san jose police are investigating 2 shootings within one block of each other. the first one happened at 2.43. this morning on east san carlos and 4th street. police say at least one person is hurt. the other shooting involves a police officer. it happened a minute later on east san carlos street near san jose state university. they haven't said of the 2 shootings are related or how they happened. but they do say that people should avoid the area as officers have closed the streets to investigate. now, this is a developing story and will bring you the latest. once we know more. a 4th covid shot could soon be available for older americans. the biden administration is expected to announce 50 years and older. we'll be able to get a second booster. it can either be the pfizer or

moderna vaccines and kron four's amanda hari spoke to an infectious disease specialist to get his reaction on the news. >> i'm surprised that it it's coming this soon, given the fact that we're kind of quiet ucsf, infectious disease specialist doctor peter chin-hong says he didn't expect to see the news that the biden administration is planning to offer those 50 and older. >> a second booster of either the pfizer or moderna vaccine. but he says the administration is likely thinking about the future and waning protection. >> the additional shot may also prevent people from getting in section, particularly. you gotten your shot. you you know, they shot more than >> 5, 0, 6 months ago, doctor chin-hong says, although it will be available for people as young as 15, it's most important for people who are significantly older. so not only just above 50, but really about.

>> 75. so if you look at some countries like sweden, they looking at over 85 for a 4th shot. if you look at the uk, they like and over. 75. as for the rest of the population, doctor chin-hong sees a few different scenarios. i think they had several possibilities for the general population by the fall winter. number one, you get a 4th shot for everybody. he says it won't just protect against severe illness but also help some people avoid infection entirely. the second possibilities that big work on a completely new vaccine, which they're doing right now. he says there's a 3rd option of a variant-specific vaccine, but he doesn't believe it would be very popular. the 4th option is that you do nothing because again, most people. why going to do fine, actually from the cdc data with just 2 shots from? >> serious disease or even that ultimately, doctor peter chin-hong does think the move towards a 4th dose is

positive. >> he says we have the supplies so now people can make their own decision based on their own circumstances. amanda hari kron, 4 news. >> now starting april for san francisco will align with the state on covid guidance. the city and county is also going to stop requiring proof of vaccination or a negative covid test to enter indoor mega events. now the state defines those as large gatherings of 1000 people or more. city officials say it is still recommended that people get vaccinated and test when symptoms come up. california is sending more than 14 million covid-19 tests to schools as students and staff return from spring break. the distribution is part of governor gavin newsome. smarter plan, which is the next phase of the state's pandemic response. the state also made personal protective personal protective equipment available to schools. state officials say over 40 million mask have already been distributed to schools since

returning from winter break. >> caltrans and bart trains aren't running in san bruno because of a fire near the tracks. >> caltrans says this fire is also forcing them to close the san bruno bart station until further notice. san bruno police say the fire started last night around 10, 30 east of san antonio and santa domingo. avenues caltrans running buses between the south san francisco and and millbrae stations. buses are also running from the san bruno station towards sfo and millbrae. a mother from hayward will be back in court tomorrow morning. samantha johnson is facing charges, murder charges for the murder of her own daughter. prosecutors believe johnson killed her 8 year-old daughter sophia mason who went missing earlier this month. police found her body days later in are sent home of johnson's boyfriend, dante jackson. police say that he's on the run and could be in the bay

it's just the thicker marine layer that we're dealing with. the real juicy stuff for this is yet to come. i'll show you the forecast projections and a bit right now. our temperatures holding in the lower to middle 50's. 49 for livermore. 48 santa rosa. 51 freeman and 51 san jose. let's hand it over to future cast for for today. basically mostly cloudy skies here it comes about the dinner hour or so 6.30, nice wall of rain at work here. and it looks like it's going to play out throughout not only just the evening hours, but pretty much overnight with a nice line of rain. still as late as 5.15, or so. then this other bubbling up from the south comes up at this point. this is going to be more of a scattered thunder shower event thrown in. there are some colder law starts to work. magic. and so we might have potentially some hail. and also here's a bonanza right here, getting some up in the mountains. they have a winter weather advisory. nice to add to the bank account for that. future cast winds. here's the uptick in winds this afternoon. this is the wind advisory. it's very sparse

biden spending plan for the 2023 budget year would trim more than 1 trillion dollars from projected deficits over the next decade. that's according to a release from the white house. biden's administration inherited a budget deficit that was equal in size to nearly 15% of the entire u.s. economy. but the deficit for the upcoming budget year will be below 5% of the economy. the president is expected to unveil his budget proposal tomorrow. now the clock is ticking for bay area tenants behind on rent because of the pandemic. the state's eviction moratorium expires march 31st. and after that, landlords will be able to start filing eviction notices to renters who owe back rent san jose city leaders say close to 7,000 renters are at risk of getting evicted because of this. some council members want san jose leaders to extend the moratorium 6 more months last week, council members voted 6 to 4 for the city to review

the issue and returned with an answer in 2 weeks. the moratorium we'll have already ended by then. so it's unclear if anything will happen for people facing eviction. small business owners and san francisco have until april first to apply for rent relief. city officials say the money comes from a grant for business owners to pay rent debt due to covid-19 related shutdowns. this grant will pay for a portion of the rent debt. you accrued from march 2020 to september 2021. city officials say they have a total investment of 2 million dollars and expect to fund at least 50 businesses. those businesses must be on current rape, rent payments since october 2021. now in new york city. uber is planning to start listing all city taxis through its app. the move is supposed to help struggling cab drivers get more customers. now it's still unclear how much they will make and if it will be enough

>> now a wildfire destroyed an ancient coastal redwood tree in marin county, the roughly 200 foot tall, redwood known as the pioneer tree fell after catching fire, california state parks said in a statement it was one of the few remaining old growth, redwood trees at samuel p taylor state park. the pioneer tree was estimated to be approximately 500 years old. the cause of the fire is not known. emergency responders retrieved the second black box yesterday from the deadly plane crash in china. the first black box was discovered wednesday, all 132 people aboard china. eastern airlines flight 5, 7, 3, 5, were declared dead friday. the cause of this tragedy remains a mystery. the weather was fine and chinese aviation authorities say that the flight crew had not sent any distress signals. the recovery of the second black box increases the chances authorities determining the cause. now sussia is starting

>> and antarctic ice shelf the size of los angeles has collapsed after a heat spell in the area. satellite images captured the dramatic end of the massive ice shelf. scientists believe this region was stable and relatively untouched by climate change. but temperatures soared more than 70 degrees hotter than usual last week. the ice shelf about 460 square miles wide. finally splintered between march 14 16. it marks the first time in human history east antarctica has seen a complete ice shelf collapse. now back here at home. we're definitely not seeing ice shelf collapse, but we are seeing plenty of fog and we're definitely going to be seeing a lot of rain. yeah, and we'll

minute later on east san carlos street near san jose state university officers responded to la victoria restaurant, a friend in progress. weapons call. investigators say that the suspect was pointing a handgun at another person. an officer on scene fire, his weapon hitting the suspect, at least one time. and that suspect is expected to be okay. now officers say people should avoid the area as they have closed the streets to investigate. this is a developing story. and of course, we'll bring you the latest. once we know more. now starting april 1st, san jose excuse me, san francisco will align with the state on covid guidance the city and county is also going to stop requiring proof of vaccination or a negative covid test to enter indoor mega event. now the state defines those as large gatherings of 1000 people or more city officials say it is still recommended that people get vaccinated and tested when symptoms come up. california is sending more than 14 million covid-19 test

in size to nearly 15% of the entire u.s. economy. but the deficit for the upcoming budget year will be below 5% of the economy. the president is expected to unveil his budget proposal tomorrow. the clock is ticking for bay area tenants behind on rent because of the pandemic. the state's eviction moratorium expires march 31st. and after that, landlords will be able to start filing eviction notices to renters who owe back rent san jose city leaders say close to 7,000 renters are at risk of getting evicted because of this. some council members want san jose leaders to extend the moratorium 6 more months. last week, council members voted 6 to 4 for the city to review the issue and returned with an answer in 2 weeks. but the moratorium will have already ended by then. so it's unclear if anything will happen for people facing eviction. small

business owners and san francisco have until april first to apply for rent relief. city officials say the money comes from a grant for business owners to pay rent debt due to covid-19 related shutdowns. now this grant will pay for a portion of the rent debt you accrue from march 2020 to september 2021. city officials say they have to a total investment of 2 million dollars and expect to fund a minimum of 50 businesses. now those businesses must be current on rent payments from october. 21. in new york city uber is planning to start listing all city taxis through its app. the move is supposed to help struggling cab drivers get more customers. it's still unclear how much they will make and if there will be enough to cover overhead expenses. jennifer spoke with some drivers who say this will help but may not be worth it. >> new yorkers will soon be able to yellow cab using the

street. police say one man is dead. however, the motive and suspect is unknown at this time. and this is the 4th homicide. they have investigated this year. the second shooting happened about a minute later on east san carlos street near san jose state university officers responded to la victoria restaurant and investigators say the suspect was pointing a gun at someone and officer on scene fired his weapon, hitting the suspect at least one time. that suspect is expected to be okay. and officers say people should avoid this area as they have closed the streets to investigate. this is still a developing story and will bring you the latest. once we know more. a 4th covid shot could soon be available for older americans. the biden administration is expected to announce that people 50 years and older. we'll be able to get a second booster. it could be either the pfizer or

moderna vaccines and kron four's amanda hari spoke to an infectious disease specialist to get his reaction on the news. >> i'm surprised that it it's coming this soon, given the fact that we're kind of quiet ucsf, infectious disease specialist doctor peter chin-hong says he didn't expect to see the news that the biden administration is planning to offer those 50 and older. >> a second booster of either the pfizer or moderna vaccine. but he says the administration is likely thinking about the future and waning protection. >> the additional shot may also prevent people from getting in section, particularly. you gotten your shot. you you have a shot more than >> 5, 0, 6 months ago, doctor chin-hong says, although it will be available for people as young as 15, it's most important for people who are significantly older. so not only just above 50, but really above. >> 75. so if you look at some countries like sweden, they

budget year. we try more than 1 trillion dollars from projected deficit over the next decade. that's according to a release from the white house. biden's administration inherited a budget deficit that was equal in size to nearly 15% of the entire u.s. economy. but the deficit for the upcoming budget year will be below 5% of the economy. the president is expected to unveil his budget proposal tomorrow. now the clock is ticking for bay area tenants behind on rent because of the pandemic. the state's eviction moratorium expires march 31st. after that, landlords will be able to start filing eviction notices to renters who owe back rent san jose city leaders say close to 7,000 renters are at risk of getting evicted because of this. some council members want san jose leaders to extend the moratorium 6 more months now. last week council members voted 6 to 4 for the city to review the issue and returned with an answer in 2 weeks. but

the moratorium will have already ended by then. so it's unclear if anything will happen for people facing eviction. small business owners in san francisco have until april first to apply for rent relief. city officials say the money comes from a grant for business owners to pay rent debt due to covid-19 related shutdowns. this grant will pay for a portion of the rent debt. you accrued from march 2020 to september 2021. city officials say they have a total investment of 2 million dollars. they expect to fund at least 50 businesses. those businesses must be current on rent payments starting october 2021. in new york city uber is planning to start listing all city taxis to its app. the move is supposed to help struggling cab drivers get more customers. it's still unclear how much they will make end if it will be enough to cover overhead expenses.

we wait for this line of rain really to develop in march across. in the meantime, some light sprinkles going on here. we had a little missed 2 near the coastal areas along the east bay shoreline and such when tracker its onshore still hasn't flipped yet from the south is expected to pick up a little bit later on this afternoon. as a result, we have a wind advisory that has been posted for the east bay hills. also the santa cruz mountains and also along the coast there. this is until 05:00am tomorrow. it actually doesn't kick in until this afternoon, but it exists all the way 05:00am and our winds that we've been showing you here, they really kind of die down before 5. but again, that's as long as last in a does cover areas. besides just that, that's just the most intense winds expected up in those higher hills. but you'll get some of those winds even up in the north bay as well. breaking your day down. it's a lot of cloud cover. it will vary a little bit throughout the day. 64 at one by 4 were talking at 67 for today with those basically cloudy skies.

festival shooting. she is now using the trauma she experienced that day to help others. kron 4 sarah stinson has our story. >> i don't get as emotional talking about it anymore because it feels like i'm in control and moving myself forward and reclaiming my life. i meghan bull is feeling stronger than ever. nearly 2 and a half years after surviving the gilroy garlic festival shooting. it took the lives of 3 people. my partner start to run and that's what we've heard. continual 30 shots going off in everything around us was. honestly chaos. we were right in the section where the shooter was student. the 2 were unharmed physically, but it didn't take long for megan. >> to start to feel symptoms of ptsd, any loud noises, strangers, any of those things would bring quite a bit of flash. >> day after i didn't leave my bed. even now it makes

emotional thinking of how low of a point that was struggling to find any solid resources for trauma survivors. megan started going to therapy tuesday on helpful, but i catch. >> thinking and trying to keep myself motivated them. what i want to i want to do despite what happened to me written on a pizza box. the idea of reclaim foundation was born. >> a nonprofit to help other survivors of trauma just as megan was gaining a semblance of normalcy. she survived another kind of tragedy, a hit and run crash broke my back in 2 places and then push my vertebrae. >> towards my nerves. so i actually needed 4 screws and 2 rods to hold my together. after megan got spinal surgery, she learned how to walk and get her strength back up, becoming even more inspired to help others lived through the worst. don't want to lie. these 2 things limit me from doing it and it also
