week, we midweek warm-up and september is going to start off warm and dry. and of course, we'll update you throughout the whole month. >> fog cash only and yeah, it's foggy in some spots. but again, it's not as foggy compared to yesterday. so we are watching for vog half moon bay in napa, oakland, 2. but overall, it's a kind of clear today breezy in places like fairfield, you can see that same story with oakland and what about our temperatures right now? our temps looking pretty good. we're looking at 60's hayward, fremont san carlos happen. bay 58, san francisco. 58 san jose. 58 to the north. we're at 56 santa rosa. so temperatures are right there around average. but that midweek warm-up is headed our way. i'll break it all down. coming up next. looking forward to it. thank you, brittany. >> a police investigation continues after a shooting and related car crash that left 3 men dead. it happened just after 7 friday night kron four's gayle ong has the latest. >> it's just unfortunate. i mean, again, another senseless violence in our city, obviously so tragic to lose 3

people. one incident, oakland police chief leronne armstrong providing an update late friday night. police responded to reports of a shooting and car crash on martin luther king junior way and 22nd street in west oakland just after 07:15pm. we know that there was an initial shooting. >> we know that there was a second shooting and then we know that after the second shooting, the vehicle. >> which the individual who had been shot was inside of. live from the scene. and that is the vehicle, too. that appears to have struck the bicycles. chief armstrong says 3 men died at the scene. >> 2 found with gunshot wounds. the cyclist appear to have been hit and killed by a car from all the by cyclists appears to not be involved in initial shooting incident. police closed off the streets as homicide in traffic units remain on scene for several hours combing through evidence, interviewing witnesses, trying to figure out what led up to the shooting say really highlights the fact that there are far too many people. >> and our community with guns and willing to use guns in

broad daylight. and so it's just really challenging for us when we have these incidents that happened like this that obviously take so many people's lives. the identities of the victims are being withheld until family members are notified. anyone with information is asked to call oakland police. >> gayle ong kron. 4 news. >> also in oakland, the police department is investigating a crash involving one of its patrol vehicles. this is video you're watching right now from the citizen app. this happening friday night on the corner of international boulevard and 50nd avenue officers happen to be in the area investigating a separate crash when a driver rearended an unoccupied parked opd patrol car. the driver of the car was taken into custody for driving under the influence. oakland police also investigating another homicide this time near lake merritt as the shooting investigations continue to pileup kron four's amanda hari digs into the crime stats. >> yes, so that news of all of this shooting and killing, you

know, city, unfortunately is surprising in less than 24 hours for men were killed in west oakland, 3 in a friday night sitting in car crash on martin luther king junior way and 27th street. >> and one saturday morning on sycamore street and northgate avenue. and these are just a few examples of recent crime in the city. we've seen dispensaries that have been robbed. we sing smash-and-grabs. we've seen strong armed robberies received sideshows. we've seen so much going on in oakland that the lawlessness is just >> out of friday afternoon, a man was rushed to the hospital after he was shot on a bart train near the fruitvale station. >> alameda county supervisor nate miley says the oakland city council needs to do more. i don't think the city's the city leadership is meeting this moment. >> just because it doesn't seem to diminishing. it seems to be increasing president of the oakland chinatown, chcmber of commerce, karl chan says he

agrees with miley that city council needs to do something. >> we can always focusing on the problems we have so focusing more on the solutions. so i think we need to do is going to be working with on the department. so currently, you we well and the on the beach sheriff departments could additional police officers in the area. the most recent oakland police data shows violent crime is down 11% compared to 2021. but chan says numbers can be deceiving. that's a crime. went up to let you know, i'm like a few 100%. and then when it went and then the next and say, you know, we by 50%. remember, it's too hot out. chan says crime has been at extremely high level for many years. >> in small improvements are not enough to bring it down to a manageable level. >> he says the police department is still significantly understaffed leaving the people of oakland

in danger. miley is calling on the city council to hold an emergency public safety meeting and he wants to be a part of it. i would come to the table and offer whatever suggestions. >> and recommendations i can provide to the city leadership and i would bring the county officials, the sheriff's department, the district attorney, a public defender probation, a public health who ever we need to bring to the table to be a part of that discussion. >> we need to be understanding what we could do together. amanda hari kron, 4 news >> one person is dead and several others recovering from injuries after a multi-car crash in new york. it happened around 2.30 yesterday morning along cherry street near mo re avenue. new york police say a total of 3 cars were involved in this crash. one driver pronounced dead at the scene. another taken to the hospital with significant injuries. the 3rd driver and all other passengers were taken to a local hospital with minor injuries, speed and alcohol are believed to be factors.

community. today's gathering runs from 11:00am to 12:00pm on the southwest corner of california street and grand avenue in san francisco's chinatown. take a look at this dramatic rescue video from moss beach. first responders working quickly to rescue a man who fell about 100 feet after a cliff collapse beneath him on friday. well, it took just over 20 minutes to get this man to safety. he'd been out for a morning stroll when this happened to him. and cal fire is warning people to please avoid walking along the edges of cliffs like the one you're seeing there in this area because these can crumble without warning. pretty scary stuff. brittany, that is my goodness. i'm of think about as you head out for a stroll. it's a perfect day in terms of weather for you is actually going to be cool today. >> so watching the potential of river or 2. i'll break it down with your 7 day forecast. coming up.

are conditions over where you're monitoring? you know, i love that. we have so many cameras because of the micro climates. we actually have a lot going on in different spots. so it's still foggy in some spots. as you start your day. >> i also want to show you this half moon watching for the potential drizzle or to at least for the next 40 minutes. you can see as we peak into the area, not seeing anything crazy continue to update you throughout the day i checked in with the national weather last month. we actually broke records in terms of rain. we got about a half an inch of rain for the month which actually broke records from the 1950's. so every drop counts. taking a look at what you need to know right now. if you are headed out to work, enjoy not coffee or maybe even headed to church. you can see right now we still looking at some of breezy conditions in places like oakland and even fairfield. in terms of fog. we showed you downtown. yeah, it is foggy. same story for napa. you're going to see some foggy conditions near half moon bay and the coast. but overall, it's not as bad as yesterday and it's not as bad as last week. all right. let's talk

about those temperatures. so temperatures for the most part are going to be right there. at average today is going to be the coolest day the 7 day. i want to show you that in a second. but let's talk about your high temperatures. we've got to play today because it's only 7.15, to the north santa rosa. we're looking at 83 mill valley. 71 on the coast. we're going to be right there at average. still watching again for pacifica and half moon bay, a sprinkle or 2, a tick above average for san francisco. but still very nice for us breezy conditions as we roll out throughout the day. morgan hill, 81. so again, last week you are a 91 this week. we're at 81 at sense of the tone that's just going to be cooler hayward. 76 in places like livermore, it's still going to be won for you. not as warm as last week. nearly triple but looking at 86, you can see that same story for concord. so let's look at that 7 day forecast. let's plan today. let's plan your work week. as you can see some changes. so again, stay inland. 86 bay, 72 co 63. we're going to hang out in the 80's the next couple of days. but really things will start to warm up on wednesday. we're

kill kids. >> that does not make sense. >> earlier this week, the uvalde school board fired police chief pete. all right, don, do after allegations he made several critical mistakes during the emergency response to the mass shooting. we now know more about the fbi search of former president donald trump's florida home on friday. the justice department released a redacted version of the affidavit. the fbi used to get a search warrant. washington correspondent reshad hudson reports. >> friday the justice department released a largely blacked out affidavit explaining why they needed a search warrant for former president trump's mar-a-lago estate. it's a very serious investigation. the filing revealed in january trump returned 15 boxes of records to the national archives. the fbi says 14 of them contained a disorganized mix of classified information and raised concerns. additional

national security secrets remained in an unsecured area at mar-a-lago. it's not like stealing a stapler from your former employer on the way out. the affidavit included no details about the 11 sets of additional classified records. the fbi says it recovered after the search on august 8th media attorney deanna showman says the public has a right to know what led to the search and the government should have provided more information about the requested redactions, whether it's safety of witnesses. >> you know, integrity of the investigation. surveillance needs. >> the fbi wanted to keep the entire affidavit under seal. but a federal judge required this redacted version. president biden says it's up to the doj to decide trump's actions compromise national in the meantime, showman says she will keep fighting to have more information made public reporting in washington reshad hudson. >> a federal judge in florida

signaled on saturday. she'd be willing to appoint a special master to review records taken from trump's mar-a-lago estate. u.s. district judge aileen cannon, a trump appointee share notice of her preliminary intend to grant the request from the former president's lawyers. the special master would identify any items that may be protected by executive privilege and return any documents outside the scope of the search warrant. a hearing on this matter is scheduled for thursday. if you have an iphone, you might want to install the latest security update. courtney crown explains. >> many of us aren't aware of the severity of vulnerabilities within our devices. but cybersecurity experts want everyone to know a flaw in the apple systems is concerning. this is not just kind of a run of the mill bug and they are hoping program is going to a screen out for use. apple acknowledged hackers could get into phones and computers and take complete control, which is why

town and country values center on whipple road for surveillance video. they are hoping to find images that after the events leading up to a shooting outside stopped and around 3 o'clock in the morning that kids and my kids would be out of o'clock in the there. >> if i'm out at 3 o'clock in the morning, i'm going to get my little snacks to see that in was it. police say a 28 year-old man was shot in the parking lot and then taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries before officers arrived. >> police have not released any information on the person opened fire. some people frequent the area are concerned to hear a man was shot considering that union city isn't such a place. but this is at least the second shooting with injuries reported in the past week. >> last saturday morning, 2 men were wounded after a gunman opened fire on a group of people outside a family owned restaurant. lot activities going on late at night when we're or manager is his family's next door to

have not yet released this person's identity. >> in the south bay, a teen is dead after being stabbed in san jose. this happened yesterday morning in the area of quimby road. and kara way near coming in lake first responders performed first aid on the 16 year-old before he was taken to the hospital. he was pronounced dead. there. police do not have a person of interest or motive at this time. they are investigating this as a homicide. the car burst into flames on the side of the road in contra costa county. while look at that, this the second vehicle fire crockett carquinez fire department crews responded to yesterday. the light colored sedan as you can see, they're fully engulfed in flames when crews arrived on scene, this is parked on the shoulder at cummings skyway. that's a road that connects highway for an i-80. no word yet on any injuries. but as you can see, they're putting that fire out. a caravan of farm workers has reached the state capitol.

great. thanks so much. brittany. a police investigation continues after a shooting and related car crash that left 3 men dead. >> it happened just after 7 friday night kron four's gayle ong has the latest. >> it's just unfortunate. i mean, again, another senseless violence in our city, obviously so tragic to lose 3 people and one incident, oakland police chief leronne armstrong providing an update late friday night. police responded to reports of a shooting and car crash on martin luther king junior way and 22nd street in west oakland just after 07:15pm. we know that there was an initial shooting. >> we know that there was a second shooting and then we know that after the second shooting, the vehicle. >> which the individual who had been shot was inside of. live from the scene. and that is the vehicle, too. that appears to have struck the bicycles. chief armstrong says 3 men died at the scene. >> 2 found with gunshot wounds. the cyclist appear to have been hit and killed by a

people. one incident, oakland police chief leronne armstrong providing an update late friday night. police responded to reports of a shooting and car crash on martin luther king junior way and 22nd street in west oakland just after 07:15pm. we know that there was an initial shooting. >> we know that there was a second shooting and then we know that after the second shooting, the vehicle. >> which the individual who had been shot was inside of. live from the scene. and that is the vehicle, too. that appears to have struck the bicycles. chief armstrong says 3 men died at the scene. >> 2 found with gunshot wounds. the cyclist appear to have been hit and killed by a car from all the by cyclists appears to not be involved in initial shooting incident. police closed off the streets as homicide in traffic units remain on scene for several hours combing through evidence, interviewing witnesses, trying to figure out what led up to the shooting say really highlights the fact that there are far too many people. >> and our community with guns and willing to use guns in broad daylight. and so it's

they have a 70% chance of a launch. you know, the spacecraft is going to go into a parking orbit around the earth and then we'll do a transfer out to the man. and the orion capsule will spend about 42 days orbiting the moon and then returning back to splashing down in in the paciaic ocean off the coast of california. >> and that's so exciting. really historic stuff. and as you mentioned, the first flight in 50 years or so and the times you mentioned as that, that was eastern pacific of other is the time. 5.33 bay want to clarify for our viewers. so, you know, gerald, a. >> it was interesting to me, too, is that with this first there's no there's no crew on board right? >> that's correct. this is a shakedown cruise for the full configuration for eventually launching astronauts to the moon. so you're right, the

backwards. they're going to at times be down just 60 miles the surface the moon. and at other times, few more than 30,000 miles away from the boat. so it's going to be a very unusual orbit. you know, very good test for this watch system before they put astronauts in it 2024, they're going to do with where middle mission with astronauts on board and then hopefully in twenty-twenty fight land. astronauts at the south pole of the moon. >> absolutely thank you so much for that insight there. my last quick question here for you, as we know that the vice president, kamala harris, she just paid a visit, chew chabot, talking about the future of commercial space travel. so how far do you think we are from the day when we can simply just book a flight to the moon or mars? >> i think we're pretty far away and you now book a flight. if you've got the money, you can book a flight

to sub orbital flight in in terms of going to the moon and mars, i think where decades away from that happening, you know this. this is not an easy thing to do that to go to mars go to the so i think a long way off yet. so, you know, there's some interesting things this mission that relate to the bay area. the heat shield on the orion capsule was developed at ames research and the landing sites eventually they're going to land it on on the south pole. right now they've selected 13 possible sites and some of those are going to be investigated by the viper rover, which is being developed. also, ames research center, and she space and science center is the visitor center for ames. so you can go to should bow and actually see a full size scale model of the viper rover and get an idea what that's going to do. >> well, that's absolutely

patrol here. >> stars starting late next week or something just to just to watch out to sea. shouldn't say aside from quick stop all of the businesses in the shopping center are closed at 3 o'clock in the morning, including a bar which shut down an hour before the shooting. and police have not indicated the victim was a patron there in union city fleet to ball kron. 4 news. >> in the north bay, authorities recovered a body from lake various after a boating accident friday. napa county sheriff's deputies say this accident happened around 05:00pm. search crews were out all evening searching for the person who fell overboard and officers found a body just before 09:00pm and water about 150 feet deep. there's no word yet on what caused the crash. and officials have not yet released the person's identity. in the south bay. a teenager is dead after being stabbed in san jose. this happening yesterday morning in the area of quimby road and kerrison way near cunningham lake. first responders were performed first aid on the 16 year-old before he was taken

to the hospital where he was later pronounced dead. police do not have a person of interest or a motive at this time. but we are working to get more information from them. this is the 26 homicide of this year for that area. washington state plans to follow in california's footsteps by banning the sales of new gas-powered vehicles by 2035, the public will have the chance to weigh in on the details of this plan. this is not the first time washington state has followed california's lead in 2019, they announced they would also follow our 0 emission vehicle rules in accordance with the federal clear air act. hundreds came out to celebrate the 2022. silicon valley pride festival. this happening and cesar chavez park in downtown san jose saturday night. a festival featured a well-known drag queen and to pop singers and look at how happy they are. many in attendance were decked out in rainbow colored outfits, enjoying the performances.
