elements in the clear skies? well, this is we've got going on here. temperature check for you've got 30, for example, santa rosa. it's the cold spot there. 38 for napa. 42 meanwhile, for east bay locations are still in the 40's. so not bad there. and 53 going on for half moon bay, give you a quick comparison to 24 hours ago. it's really only santa rosa. that's trailing a little bit. san jose as well. but some of the readings in the east bay are a little warmer today than yesterday. there your offshore winds kind of in place. they're still active in the east bay. that's probably help support temperatures a little bit overnight. we're going to see much the way of cloud cover today, but there is a weak system to come to pass a little bit tonight, 4 to 56 rather 11 at 2. we're at 61. sarah. >> we're following breaking news from overnight. all lanes on the bay bridge are reopened this morning can see right there after a shooting that happened just after 10 o'clock last night. it happened in the westbound direction and it was just west of the tunnel. one person was injured by debris. 2 lanes were temporarily closed. but as you can see

right there back open and clear. theranos founder elizabeth holmes is now facing more than a decade in prison after being convicted on federal fraud charges. holmes was convicted of fraud earlier this year after deceiving investors about her company's blood testing. technology kron four's justin campbell reports of san jose. >> and this is not what holmes wanted. she heard that sentence 11 years, 3 months bowed her head and gave partner a long hug inside of court. a lot of family with her. but she's not going to have to start that sentence until april of next year. >> elizabeth holmes walked into court friday holding her mom and her partner's hand. you can see she is pregnant and will give birth before she starts her sentence inside the courtroom. holmes was surrounded by friends and family. prosecutors are asking for her to pay over 800 million in restitution. but that was not decided on

friday. holmes made a tearful statement before the judge. this is the first time we've seen the homes express remorse. she said i am so so sorry to the judge during her statement while crying. she also said in part, i loved theranos. it was my life's work. my team meant the world to me. they work tirelessly every day. i felt the pain for what people went through because i failed them. it said and i guess it's a good reminder. >> kaylee, the young folks going up in silicon valley that there are a lot of things that matter more than money and that the f building companies in building wealth honestly is wonderful. but at the end of the day, nothing matters more than then be doing right by people. and elizabeth holmes's tale is cautionary tale of how breed can get the best if anyone there's a there's a number of people that are of the. >> in that she got pregnant on purpose as a sympathy ploy and

>> case 29 year-old celina juarez made her first court appearance here at the santa clara county hall of justice in san jose. she's facing multiple charges stemming from an incident involving her infant twins that happened back on november 4th that are home here on hurling him way. santa clara county deputy da rebecca wise is representing the people versus juarez. >> the defendant was alone in her home with melanie and sorry from noon until 03:00pm. on that day, melanie and sorry, we're being fussy and the defendant was frustrated. the evidence shows that she picked up melanie and forcefully held her against her until she was unable to freeze license alleges that this behavior went on for over 10 minutes even after melanie. >> was unconscious and not breathing. she continued to hold her against her body for 2 she then lead melanie down. picked up sorry person do the same with her. >> according to court documents, it wasn't until a

family member came home that paramedics were eventually called to the sea. both infants were hospitalized, however, 2 days later, one of the twins, melanie was pronounced dead. selena wore as was arraigned for charges including murder, assault on a child endangering or injuring the health of a child and causing or permitting a child to suffer. as for questions regarding her mental health through the course of the investigation, detectives take into account. >> medical factors, mental health factors. but all that is taken in accordance with what is the law. and when we put all those things together at the end of the day, a judge signed an arrest warrant for homicide. we're here. >> we're focused on. receiving getting justice for these 2 girls. making sure that the person who did this. >> so we know we're as returns to court on december. 12th at 09:00am to establish legal counsel and to enter a plea until she's being held without bail in san jose has menu

kron. 4 news. >> san francisco police are investigating a hit and run crash that seriously injured a pedestrian. it happened around 8.15, last night in the area of 7th street and odd fellows way just south of the civic center, bart station on market street. investigators say officers stopped a car matching the suspect vehicle description and detained that driver. but no arrests have been made. there's also no word on the victim's condition this morning. we now know the names of the 5 people killed in thursday's head-on crash on highway 4 in pittsburgh. this happened early thursday morning. according to investigators, 27 year-old tra tucker of allay was driving the wrong way on the westbound lanes when they hit an suv. 3 children were inside that car with tucker. all 4 died at the scene. the children were all under the age of 10 years old. the driver of the suv. 44 year-old the son drug. good. a vacaville was also killed in that crash. an investigation is still ongoing. well, coming

sarah. good morning, everybody. a pretty good one at that. but on the cool side number, it is now a kind of feeling into that rather, almost winter, like type whether or not technically in winter yet. but live shot coming in for you for half moon bay. >> lots of sunshine, not much the way of fog might actually see a little bit try to sneak in here tomorrow, just due to a weak wave which will show you. but again, nice to blue skies to start the day temperature check because of some of those offshore winds. temperatures have been supported a little bit on the far east bay, a chilly 30 up to santa rosa. 38 going on for napa. 47 for san francisco. back to what we expect for those winds are going to lose some of the intensity except up in the north bay solano county. a little bit. no, no advisories or any statements with this, but it will to start to subside as we get to the afternoon hours and again tonight, not much the way of winds, but we'll see maybe a little bit the way some moisture try to sneak in here. here's what's going on from the pacific. we don't see any real cloud cover coming from it. but we might get some lower level moisture here for this weekend, breezy early on today. cool temperatures will

people chose to go. a federal judge has ruled that twitter can't seek releases from those employees. intel claims against the company have been heard in court. we've got kron 4 rob nesbitt who talked to an attorney representing many of these workers. >> twitter offices may be closed until monday amid a wave of resignations. but the drama continues online. and in court, a federal judge has blocked twitter from sending out severance agreements because of several claims filed by twitter employees. attorney shannon liss-riordan is representing those workers saying musk's original severance offer is not what's being offered at least 2 months base pay. >> bonuses, 3 months of equity and health care contributions. but elon musk has said one month's one-month base pay and that's just throwing out the window. what they will with more than half of twitter's workforce gone since must take over. >> many are questioning how the site will continue to function. users reporting issues with the 2 step verification to sign in and

violence following the january 6 riots at the capitol tuesday, trump announced that he'll be running for president in 2024. a special counsel was named to lead a federal investigation into former president trump attorney general merrick garland appointed jack smith to oversee 2 probes. one covers classified documents found at trump's florida state. the other examines trump's actions in the january 6th riot and efforts to reverse the twenty-twenty election. trump says he will not partake in the investigation, calling it unfair. political white house officials say the justice department is operating independently. and kron 4 is your election headquarters. now to the latest on 2 key races we're following. and it's a close one for the first time since election night. hsieh shay tao is ahead of her opponent, lauren taylor in a race to be oakland's next mayor. the latest numbers from alameda county's election set site shows tao with 50.3% with

location. there are 4 station for stations where this new subway will run and those include the chinatown rose pak at stockton in clay street, where the ceremony is taking place today. union square market street station. that's at marion stockton and the year. but boy, in a moscow knee station at 4th in folsom and then the 4th location is 4th and brandon, that's at 4th and brandon street and this service. it will connect several communities like canada, china town union square, the buena gardens that miss county convention center and sf moma. now here in the audience in attendance is former as a mayor. willie brown has been a champion for this project. also, senator scott wiener and city attorney david chiu who credit speaker of the house nancy pelosi, who helped fund this project. her son is also in attendance today at the ceremony. now, this project, it cost millions of dollars. but speaker say that it is a priceless and

natural resources agency in downtown sacramento. where about 70 leaders from dozens of california cities and counties met with governor gavin newsom. what i want to see is what everybody wants to see. the streets of california cleaned up. we want to see cleanup. want to see people house. we want to turn to the conditions that we're experiencing around homelessness is is not unique to any jurors. taishan fresno mayor jerry dyer was among those who spoke to the governor during the closed door meeting. a meeting coming less than 3 weeks after newsom announced he's pausing the rollout of about 1 billion dollars of state funding to local governments are doing. they have not been aggressive enough in their plans to reduce homelessness. newsom said his concerns came from data showing the state overall was on pace to see just a 2% reduction in unsheltered people by 2024. during the meeting in agreement was made with conditions that will lead to the governor releasing the money. we're turning the page and, you know, big cities and our city's. i think that's a significant as part of the agreement. those seeking state

funding signed this letter from the newsom administration calling for local governments to submit new more aggressive plans based on guidelines for what the governor calls best practices. among other things, the governor wants to see regional commitments for more permanent and temporary housing and a vow to utilize more land for supportive housing development. that was a good we left there with the spirit of optimism. you know, one of cooperation. i think we're all on the same page. he wants to see more numbers and we're going to provide that. and the new plans on homelessness are due to the newsom administration in 2 weeks reporting in downtown sacramento. eytan wallace kron. 4 news. >> and in the east bay, one of the 6 victims in the king estate shooting on september. 28th in oakland has died. oakland's police chief says the shooting was targeted and gang-related as kron four's to resist. also reports the employee is being remembered as a dedicated and hardworking employee who love giving back to the school.

>> another sad development in wake of the september shooting on the king estate campus in oakland where 2 gunmen shown here is surveillance video stormed onto school grounds and opened fire, littering the campus with more than 30 rounds. 6 people were injured, including 2 critically. now one of those victims of school carpenter, david saccharine has died in a statement to kron 4 news, oakland unified school district spokesperson john sasaki called the death tragic, adding, quote, we are devastated by the loss of david and we are heartbroken for his family and community. he will be profoundly missed. our community mourns the loss of usd hero and will be forever grateful for david to nearly 2 decades of service to our students, families, staff and schools. he was well known for his sense of humor. and as someone who loved working for the district, he loved the camaraderie he had with this team and colleagues never saw

him upset about anything and quote. mayhem broke out after shots rang out. authorities quickly responded and emergency crews rushed victims to the hospital. in the days after the violence. oakland's police chief revealed the shooting was targeted and gang-related, although extensive evidence was gathered at the scene, there has been no arrests. meetings took place with anxious parents and authorities following the shooting. new security measures were discussed such as upgrading security cameras and installing a locked front entrance. the oakland unified school district says that sacher i lived in the east bay with this family. a memorial is planned for the future. to recess. stasio kron. 4 news. concord. police believe that a deadly house fire thursday night was intentionally set by the person who died in it. it happened. >> on euclid avenue and farm bureau road. fire crews say that fires were set in

multiple areas around the house. they also found the victim in the property with a self-inflicted gunshot wound and the gun nearby. this new development has residents feeling concerned? >> concerns me greatly it. there's all kinds of possibilities going on in my mind. but i'm not willing to speculate. >> under investigation, the victim has not yet been identified. >> it may have been a quiet protest. the sector. you set and nobody deserves it and i'm sorry experience my but today we want to rectify that. >> 8 decades later, a man is getting an official apology from any ox mayor for having been refused service by restaurant because of his race. 90 year-old alfred chan was refused service in 1940, for being chinese american mayor lamar thorpe presented chan with a formal letter. chan talked about what it means to him.

the issue facing communities across the state and today it was front and center at the natural resources agency in downtown sacramento. where about 70 leaders from dozens of california cities and counties met with governor gavin newsom. what i want to see is what everybody wants to see. >> the streets of california cleaned up. we want to see cleanup. want to see people house. we want to turn to the conditions that we're experiencing around homelessness is is not unique to any jurisdiction. fresno mayor jerry dyer was among those who spoke to the governor during the closed door meeting, a meeting coming less than 3 weeks after newsom announced he's pausing the rollout of about 1 billion dollars of state funding to local governments arguing they have not been aggressive enough in their plans to reduce homelessness. newsom said his concerns came from data showing the state overall was on pace to see just a 2% reduction in unsheltered people by 2024. during the meeting in agreement was made with conditions that will lead

this. police in oakland are looking for this car they say could be related to a possible kidnapping, all connected to a domestic violence call. witnesses tell police that 2 women were in a struggle before they both got into the car and left the scene. this happened around 5.30, last night in the area of harrison street and pearl street. the car is described as an older gray four-door hondo with a paper plate of 5, 0, 0, 8, 9, 3, 4, 2, if you seen this car, you're asked to call oakland police. their nose founder elizabeth holmes is now facing more than a decade in prison after being convicted on federal fraud charges. holmes was convicted of fraud earlier this year after receiving after deceiving investors about her company's blood testing. technology kron four's justin campbell reports from san jose. >> and this is not what holmes wanted. she heard that sentence 11 years, 3 months bowed her head and gave her

partner a long hug inside of court. a lot of family with her. but she's not going to have to start that sentence until april of next year. >> elizabeth holmes walked into court friday holding her mom and her partner's hand. you can see she is pregnant and will give birth before she starts her sentence inside the courtroom. holmes was surrounded by friends and family. prosecutors are asking for her to pay over 800 million in restitution. but that was not decided on friday. holmes made a tearful statement before the judge. this is the first time we've seen the homes express remorse. she said i am so so sorry to the judge during her statement while crying. she also said in part, i loved was my life's work. my team meant the world to me. they work tirelessly every day. i felt the pain for what people went through because i failed them. it said and i guess it's a

santa clara county deputy da rebecca wise is representing the people versus juarez. >> the defendant was alone in her home with melanie and sorry from noon until 03:00pm. on that day, melanie and sorry, we're being fussy and the defendant was frustrated. the evidence shows that she picked up melanie and forcefully helped her against her until she was unable to license alleges that this behavior went on for over 10 minutes even after melanie. >> was unconscious and not breathing. so continue to hold her against her body for 2 she then lead melanie down. picked up sorry person do the same with her. >> according to court documents, it wasn't until a family member came home that paramedics were eventually called to the sea. both infants were hospitalized, however, 2 days later, one of the twins, melanie was pronounced dead. selena wore as was arraigned for charges

station where people are actually getting a look to see what is here to offer. and we're currently at the surface level and then just down below people are able to go downstairs and check out the trains. but take a look at your screen. this is a video right as the first rain took off about 30 minutes ago. senator scott wiener, former and willie brown and nancy pelosi son paul pelosi. junior were just a few who went along for the ride. they made it official when they cut the ribbon. and this is a look inside the station at the chinatown location at stockton and clay street. this where we are now. it's one of 4 locations where the subway services. it also stops at the union square and market street location. that's on geary and stockton. and then there's the yerba buena muskogee station on 4th and fulsome and there's another station on 4th and brannan streets. this service connects communities like chan chinatown, union square, the

focus must immediately turn to addressing homelessness. on friday, newsom met with mayors and county later leaders across california capitol meporter eytan wallace has the details. >> governor is set to lift his paws of state, homelessness funding. but there are conditions. homelessness. it's the issue facing communities across the state and today it was front and center at the natural resources agency in downtown sacramento. where about 70 leaders from dozens of california cities and counties met with governor gavin newsom. what i want to see is what everybody wants to see. >> the streets, california cleaned up. we want to see cleanup. want to see people house. we want to turn to the conditions that we're experiencing around homelessness is is not unique to new jurors to action. fresno mayor jerry dyer was among those who spoke to the governor during the closed door meeting, a meeting coming less than 3 weeks after newsom announced he's pausing the rollout of about 1 billion dollars of state funding to

local governments are doing. they have not been aggressive enough in their plans to reduce homelessness. newsom said his concerns came from data showing the state overall was on pace to see just a 2% reduction in unsheltered people by 2024. but during the meeting in agreement was made with conditions that will lead to the governor releasing the money. we're turning the page and, you know, big cities and our city's. i think that's a significant as part of the agreement. those seeking state funding signed this letter from the newsom administration calling for local governments to submit new more aggressive plans based on guidelines for what the governor calls best practices. among other things, the governor wants to see regional commitments for more permanent and temporary housing and a vow to utilize more land for supportive housing development. that was a good we left there with the spirit of optimism. you know, one of cooperation. i think we're all on the same page. he wants to see more numbers and we're going to provide that. and the new plans on homelessness are due to the newsom administration in 2

weeks reporting in downtown sacramento. eytan wallace kron. 4 news. >> in the east bay, one of the 6 victims in the king estate shooting on september 28th in oakland has died. oakland's police chief says the shooting was targeted in gang-related as kron four's terisa stasio reports the employees being remembered as dedicated and hardworking and a person who love giving back to the school. >> another sad development in wake of the september shooting on the king estate campus in oakland where 2 gunmen shown here is surveillance video stormed onto school grounds and opened fire, littering the campus with more than 30 rounds. 6 people were injured, including 2 critically. now one of those victims of school carpenter, david saccharine has died in a statement to kron 4 news, oakland unified school district spokesperson john sasaki called the death tragic, adding, quote, we are devastated by the loss of david and we are heartbroken for his family and community.
