a little colder. so it's not your imagination to grab the paper this morning and you'rl shivering a little bit there. maybe the dogs will upset with you if he was outside little bit here. here's the shot from the golden gate. there you have it a little bit light off towards the distance temperature check for you. santa rosa coming in at 30 along with the bottle. 33 napa. we see a lot more 30's even at this late hour, as you can see with some 40's here in their 50 to up to half moon bay. quick comparison sake in some cases where more than a dozen degrees behind all complements too, losing some of those more intense winds and the offshore winds. they have been remaining the banking of dry atmosphere, which we're going to have really until tuesday morning that marine layer is not coming back upstream. we make it sprayed by some high cloudiness, but there might not much of a feature just cosmetic. we'll go with mostly sunny. 57, 11 o'clock by 2.63, slightly warmer today than yesterday. we're also be investigating this business of rain happening in the next weekend. the timing continues to change and so forth will be walking you through that as well. carol. thank you, dave.

>> we're following breaking news this morning. 5 people are dead, 18 others injured after a gunman opened fired at an lgbtq nightclub and colorado springs, colorado. the shooting happened just before midnight. police say the shooter was injured and is being treated. a motive is not known at this time. the fbi is on scene assisting with the investigation. we're expected to hear an update from police any minute now. we'll keep you up to this soon. as we learn more and the big story out of antioch, 3 teenagers are under arrest after a carjacking and a wild joyride. 4 different agencies helped track these teens down from stockton to antioch kron four's amanda hari has the story. and police arrested 3 teenagers late friday night after what started with an armed carjacking in stockton. >> stockton police officer joseph silva says the teens took a woman's dodge challenger.

>> while she was driving to the city's downtown around 7.15, friday night was approached by 3 suspects. >> one suspect brandished a firearm into her vehicle, which were able to get the information out regarding the carjacking, the other aid. she did a great job after 10, 40 brentwood police spotted the stolen challenger. officers began pursued on highway 4 soon after. >> the oakley police department continued the pursuit but lost the vehicle in antioch, antioch pd found the car parked on los way near gentry town. part after police detained one of the teens. another ran away. this is drone footage. police used to find them hiding in a nearby backyard shed and arrest them you to now the 13 called police to turn themselves in to police for these 2 of the names of the suspected carjackers, their 19 year-old anthony peer of richmond. >> 18 year-old angel olivier of richmond and a 16 year-old from river bank. stockton,

police say they're offering assistance the victim last night. she was, you know, obviously any time. >> the type of crime occurs specifically with a firearm. i'm not just so obviously be giving kerr, you know, the services, you know that she needs. >> and that was amanda harry reporting for us this morning. all 3 teens have been handed back to stockton. police. now this week, a big story we'll be following. people getting ready to hit the roads for the thanksgiving holiday. millions of people are expected to hit the road and get to where they want to be with their family. they fully, though gas prices continue to drop across the state. kron four's camila barco is live in millbrae with details. camilla, i know yesterday we gossip together and we got a deal. what are we seeing out there? >> and i moved here 2 years ago, but now i'm seeing it once again here at this arco

gas station in millbrae. it will cost you about $4.81 per gallon. if you pay with gas a $4 and $0.87, if you pay with debit or credit. now it's not like this across the bay area, but you will find gas prices to be lower than what we see the past few months. and like you said, people are going to be traveling more the next few days to get where they want to be for thanksgiving. we know millions of people are traveling for the holidays and according to triple a. >> 49 million people are expected to travel by car during the thanksgiving holiday period. 7 million people in california are expected to hit the road. triple a says that this year is projected to be. the 3rd busiest year for thanksgiving travel since they started tracking in 2000. if you are driving this holiday season, check out how much gas is going to cost you on average. right now, san francisco, napa and san mateo counties continue to be the most expensive places to get gas. it's about $5 and $0.49. that's in san francisco. it

will cost you around $5 and 30 something sense in sonoma, santa clara and alameda counties. if you want to find the cheapest gas, well, you have to go to solano county. it's at $4.16, at $5.14 for a gallon there. and of course, there that all depends on where you go to get gas. like you said. >> we were here at this arco gas station in millbrae $4 and something sense. but even just across the street, i'm seeing at a chevron, it will cost you $5. of course, if you go to those brand gas stations like shell, chevron, it will cost you a little bit more. but if you go places like this, arco gas station, you'll paying a little bit less. back to us. thanks, camille. it's always good to see the number 4. we'll check back with you in about an hour. thank you. triple a has also released its list of the best and worst times to drive this thanksgiving. on wednesday. the 23rd that's the worst time to hit the road between 11 o'clock in the morning. 8 o'clock at night. the best time to avoid traffic would be before 08:00am or after

08:00pm. on thanksgiving day. the worst time to drive is between 11 morning 3 in the afternoon. the rest of the week should be okay. if you leave in the morning. with the road's expected to get even more crowded over the next few days. the chp triple a they want to remind drivers to be just extra safe. officers say during the holidays speeding following too closely and unsafe lane changes are the most common factors in traffic crashes. >> we're all trying to get to your destination wrong person, family over thanksgiving give people a little bit of a little bit of kindness. make sure you're prepared me to sit. their frustration can get the best of us some time. so we want to make sure that we're aware of what we should expect that point. the road. >> the warnings come amid a series of crashes. most of them fatal across the state over the past few days. and travelers are also being asked to get to the airport early. if you are flying this holiday season. take a look. this is a live picture at sfo this morning. the airport telling kron 4 that the busiest day

there will be one week from today. so next sunday, as people returned from their trip thanksgiving. meanwhile, officials with the oakland airport expect travel to pick up there later this week. this is video of the crowds from friday. that airport is expecting to see off 170,000 passengers to pass through between wednesday and next sunday. >> and san jose airport is already seeing an uptick in travel. you can see people waiting in line there. this was on friday. airport officials there say they're expecting hundreds of thousands of people to pass through this week. saint anthony's foundation in san francisco held a one-day only curbside thanksgiving donation drive. 700 turkeys were donated by a longtime donor to help those in need who need the most this holiday season. saint anthony's is expecting to serve more than 2600 meals on thanksgiving. now, if you missed this drive, you can participate in the virtual drive and that runs through november. 24th. coming up on

>> welcome back. we're taking a live look outside at walnut creek this morning. you can see the sun is out and it looks a little bit hazy out there. so no check in with dave sphar. he's live in our weather center. always live over tell me, is it out there rather than we did that? i thing. >> by the way, you're talking about some of that haze going on a sunny today. indication wondered for these chilly no spare the air day. so and joy, you know, cuddling up and all that stuff. hot cocoa and what everyone in there, half moon bay. look at this. we have numbers already this morning in the 50's and beautiful shot happening here. marine layer is we typically will with the fog and all not checking in. we'll be looking at some of those numbers in just a bit. in terms of humidity levels, mostly 30's across the board to bottle just dipped into the 20's. you'll notice on the

east bay shoreline about 40 ish. 36 for fremont inland. most readings in the 30's. 41 antioch, 40 at this hour for san jose. so this is much colder than what we experience just 24 hours ago. future cast in terms of humidity in the day drops off to the typically. and here is the so-called recovery to tomorrow morning. typically we would see this whole area just all filled with green. still not there yet. so it's kind of slow going by monday. we'll probably see some scattered clouds aloft. and this is kind of the recovery we're looking at. so it's a good thing. we had some of those recent rains a while back to really give us some insulation from all of this from the offshore winds and dry conditions. sunny, minor breeze today. look, the leftover offshore winds, a touch warmer with the mid 60's going on today for this week. some scattered clouds early in the week. and basically that's monday. and then after that, we go mostly sunny warming to the upper 60's by friday or even thursday, perhaps even near about 70 or so in the next weekend. that's interesting. kind of looks mostly sunny to start off here. mid 60, still holding

arrest kron four's gayle ong reports. >> those are multiple federal felonies. this is something we take very seriously. postal inspector jack pitched as a mail carrier was robbed at gunpoint while they were delivering mail in vallejo around 7.30, tuesday evening areas coming back from evergreen. >> towards his vehicle that was parked here on curtis. when the robber came up behind him and told him not to move. >> fitch says the man took off in the mail truck made a left turn on springbrook and drove to the end of the street right in front of jim washington's home. now, i'm just surprised that washington says he didn't see the mail truck because he was doing work in his backyard at the time. nothing like that. >> nobody helped happened in this area. and i've been living here. here since his house was 2 years >> been here for many years. fitch says the robber ditched the truck, but not before taking some of the mail inside also, at least 2 individuals.

nightclub in colorado springs. the shooting happened just before midnight. police say the suspected shooter is a 22 year-old man who was injured and is being treated. he's in custody, though. a motive is not known at this time. police say the man walked into the club immediately started shooting. but he was confronted by at least 2 people who fought with him. police say those people prevented him from shooting others. police found 2 guns at the scene. the fbi is assisting with the investigation. >> and another big story here at home, the following 2 separate bay area freeway shootings, one of them deadly. police are still trying to figure out what happened. kron four's philippe djegal all shares what we know now. >> a body tarp richmond sidewalk. it's rested next to an suv being processed for evidence on him and or street just before 3 o'clock saturday morning, california highway patrol officers closed the area off as investigators piece together. what happened. the chp says it turns out the person who died was shot while

driving on interstate 80 in oakland at the 5.80, interchange investigators say another car was involved in the 2 people inside also suffered gunshot wounds. they were taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. >> once the chp determined the body reporting in richmond resulted from the freeway shooting within 3 hours later, the eastbound lanes of 5.80, were closed to gather evidence halting traffic for about an hour. this happening after the chp slow traffic on the upper deck of the bay bridge at around 10 o'clock friday night. just west of treasure island. >> the chp says shots were fired and the person was wounded by debris. adding, though, that investigators do not believe the 2 overnight shootings are connected over the years. chp investigators have had their hands document in bay area freeway shootings, a rash of them reported along highway pittsburgh.

>> prompting the city to add surveillance cameras along the corridor back in 2016. >> in february, cal athletics hall of famer gene ransom was the victim of road rage. he was shot and killed driving on 8.80, in oakland. one of 5 people killed on freeways during a nine-month stretch, including alameda county sheriff's cadet david, when who was murdered on his drive home to san francisco a year ago this month. 23 month-old jasper. wu was shot and killed on 8.80 in oakland. police have released this photo of 2 cars believed to be involved in that unsolved case in may. governor gavin newsom approved funding for new surveillance cameras on several state highways, including in alameda and contra costa counties. >> philippe djegal kron. 4 news. >> in the south bay police in san jose responded to 2 homicides within hours of one another. investigators say one man was found shot to death just blocks away from the coyote creek golf on friday

morning. the shooting happened on dirty avenue between palm in cologne avenue. the second shooting happened friday afternoon on river oaks parkway. that's about 5 miles from the alviso marina county park. police say one man was rushed to the hospital with a gunshot wound where he later died. san jose police say is this is the city's 35th homicide of the year. no word on a suspect in either shootings at this time. on the peninsula. menlo park police are investigating an armed robbery and assault. the victim met the person on a dating app. it happened friday night when police were contacted about the assault on haven avenue. a 35 year-old man was sitting in his car with the woman that he met online. that's when 2 men approached the car and pulled them an ounce told his cash from him and then attacked him. he suffered multiple injuries after the men struck him with a pistol, punched him and kicked him. police say the woman fled the scene with the 2 men. the victim was treated

at the hospital and later released. and oakland resident arrested twice in one day after get this returning to the scene of the crime. according to south san francisco police, 2 people attempted to burglarize a business on harris avenue next to the coma creek, a 20 year-old oakland resident and the 22 year-old sam landry resident were arrested on multiple felony charges friday night. they spotted the 20 year-old back at the scene of the crime. officers believe they were potentially looking for a gun that may have been tossed aside during the rest officers detain the person and found a loaded gun at the scene. the suspect was taken back to jail. many demonstrators gathered in san francisco saturday to protest on behalf of the people of iran who have face ripped depression, rather in islamic republic. some held signs, women, life, freedom that has been repeated all around the world since the death of 22 year-old mahsa amini who has been detained, who had been

detained by the country's morality police. protests in iran have reportedly led to hundreds of deaths. a break-in at a restaurant in san francisco. burglars made off with cash, the cash register and a couple of ipads at bistro kimbrough in us and the city's know put district near usf. now the owner tells us the register had about $600 in it, but the burglars caused about $4,000 worth of damage. he also says his restaurant was broken into just last year. >> disappointing and a lot of because you put all that work to open is a but nobody nobody can to its heart as a community. we need to what's going to get out of this. not what can see >> despite everything the owner says he's determined to stay in the city despite the break-ins in the slow business since the pandemic began, these joe grammar was back open last night. oakland police investigating a hit and run crash that left a car

inside of a luxury apa tment building early saturday morning. this happened on 20th street around 3.30, opd found the car, but no one was inside. police later arrested a person at the scene. no injuries were reported. the investigation still active. and in the south bay, take a pick up truck crash right into a home friday in saratoga, santa clara county fire crews responded. you can see the truck leaving a gaping hole in the house. there was the truck there. no injuries were reported and it's not clear what caused the driver to crash their truck into this home. coming up on the kron 4 morning news, a thanksgiving treat for home chefs claim chef not shares his tricks for cooking the perfect turkey. this thanksgiving. >> and after the break, california health officials sounding the alarm about a triple threat could impact all of our health.

due to the rising food prices at the grocery store, reservations at restaurants across san francisco are filling up. i talked with the general manager at international says reservations filled up a month before thanksgiving. >> we have about 500 reservations for the restaurant itself. we open up reservations in october. they filled before the end of october international smoke is offering a buffet for $105 per adult. and $49 for kids wagyu prime red cedars smoke, sam and obviously a turkey. i checked out yelp, an open table, most restaurants in san francisco staying open for thanksgiving have little to no more reservations available. people eating out on thanksgiving are likely trying to avoid the soaring prices at the grocery store. so eating out might be cheaper according to the american farm bureau foundation, turkey, prices are 112% higher than last year. butters up 70% pies. canned vegetables and potatoes are

>> san jose wants to make electric cars a little bit more accessible. they want to boost electric cars in low income and disadvantaged neighborhoods by eliminating what they call charging desert. it's all a part of a pilot program approved by the san jose city council on tuesday. the city will work with vendors to install banks of ev chargers over the next 2 years at city owned or private locations. the program will also raise awareness of the chargers and try to get more residents comfortable with the cars by bringing some to neighborhoods for ride and drive events. in national news. people in the northeast are digging out from historic

back to the breaking news. we continue to follow morning. out of colorado. 5 people are dead and 18 others injured after a gunman opened fire at an lgbtq nightclub in colorado springs. the shooting happened just before midnight. police say the suspected shooter's a 22 year-old man who was injured and is being treated. he is in custody, though. >> a motive is being investigated right now. police say the man walked into the club immediately started shooting, but he was confronted by at least 2 people who fought him. police say those people who are oakley prevented him from shooting others. police found 2 guns at the scene. the fbi is assisting with this investigation. another big story we're following this morning back here at home to separate bay area freeway shootings and one of them deadly. police are still trying to figure out what happened. kron four's philippe djegal shares what we know. >> a body tarp richmond sidewalk. it's rested next to an suv being processed for evidence on him and or street

just before 3 o'clock saturday morning, california highway patrol officers closed the area off as investigators piece together. what happened. the chp says it turns out the person who died was shot while driving on interstate 80 in oakland at the 5.80, interchange investigators say another car was involved in the 2 people inside also suffered gunshot wounds. they were taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. >> once the chp determined the body reporting in richmond resulted from the freeway shooting more than 3 hours later, the eastbound lanes of i-80 were closed to gather evidence halting traffic for about an hour. this happening after the chp slow traffic on the upper deck of the bay bridge at around 10 o'clock friday night. just west of treasure island. >> the chp says shots were fired and the person was wounded by debris. adding, though, that investigators do not believe the 2 overnight shootings are connected over

san jose responding to 2 homicides within hours of one another. investigators say one man was found shot to death just blocks away from the coyote creek golf on friday morning. the shooting happened on dougherty avenue between palm and cullen, a avenues. the second shooting happened friday afternoon on river oaks parkway. that's about 5 miles from the of marina county park. police say one man was rushed to the hospital with a gunshot wound where he later died. san jose police say this is the city's 35th homicide of the year. no word on a suspect in either shootings at this time. on the peninsula. menlo park. police are investigating an armed robbery and assault. the victim met the person on a dating app. it happened friday night when police were contacted about the assault on haven avenue. a 35 year-old man was sitting in the car with a woman he met online. that's when 2 men approached the car and pulled the man out stealing cash from him and then attacked him. he suffered multiple injuries after the men struck him with a pistol

punched and kicked him. police say the woman fled the scene with the 2 men. the victim was treated at the hospital and later released. and oakland resident arrested twice in one day after returning to the scene of a crime. according to south san francisco police, 2 people attempted to burglarize a business on harris avenue next to the coma creek, a 20 year-old oakland resident and a 22 year-old stanley and resident were arrested on multiple felony charges friday night. they spotted the 20 year-old back at the scene of the crime. officers believe they were potentially looking for a gun that may have been tossed aside during the arrest, officers detain the person and found a loaded gun at the scene. the suspect the suspect was taken back to jail. a break-in at a restaurant in san francisco. burglars made off with the cash register and a couple of ipads at bistro kimbrough ms at the city's know put district near usf. the owner tells us the register had about $600 in it and the

oakland police investigating a hit and run crash that left a car inside of a luxury apartment building early saturday morning. this happened on 20th street around 3.30, opd found the car, but no one was inside. police later arrested a person at the scene. no injuries were reported and this investigation is still active. and the south bay. take a look at this. a pickup truck crashing right into a home friday in saratoga. santa clara county fire crews responded. you can see the truck there. a massive truck. no injuries were reported and it's still being investigated as to what caused the driver to crash that truck into the home. >> well, coming up after the break, california health officials sounding the alarm about a triple threat that could impact all of our health.

today. nice blue skies going on, too, but cold. it was lot of readings in the 30's at dawn and up that up since seeing the sun join us. so those temperatures have improved. in fact, most areas are above the 30 santa rosa's trailing a 39. but again, most areas across most of the bay in the 40's with some 50's as well. that's because we lost the winds. we have dry air overnight and the clear skies all allow these temperatures to fall close in the gap. we are still trailing again in the bottle by 11 degrees behind that. you can see single digits, most of the region probably by noon will be caught up in well, actually shoot a little higher than what we did from yesterday. calm winds for the most part across most of the bay. the sunshine will drive a little bit the way of some winds this afternoon. here is a look at your day today. just a little bit, the way some high clouds today this afternoon temperature check mostly in the lower 60's. but we'll see some warmer pockets here. and there now it looks like a nice week ahead for the thanksgiving holiday for people to come in from out of town or if you're going somewhere. however, by this weekend, we might be seeing

>> yeah, good morning, sarah. so some drivers are seeing some relief at the pump. gas is $0.18 lower than it was last week. and now we're seeing gas back at that 4 to $5 range in some parts of the bay area here at this arco gas station in millbrae $4 and $0.87. if you pay with your debit or credit and this comes as the holiday season kicks off. millions of americans are going to be traveling this weekend according to triple a 49 people. 49 million people are expected to travel by car during this thanksgiving holiday period. 7 million californians are expected to hit the road. triple a says this year is projected to be the 3rd busiest for thanksgiving travel since they started tracking back in 2000 the last 2 times, right, 2005 2019, the year right before the pandemic started. if you are headed out of town, here's a look at how much gas will cost you in the bay area. san francisco is the most except expensive place for gas right

for antioch, but most locations inland in the 40's with some more 50's lining up the east bay shoreline. you heard earlier about the snow's going on around buffalo or whatever they call the snow belt for this reason. now, this time of year in november, you have liquid great lakes. so therefore water tends to be more volatile when it's a liquid contrast with us all of that sublimation and has to evaporate, right? it's like dry ice. it has to go right to a vapor. so at a liquid doesn't take as much energy in with all of that going forward. you get that evaporation and boom, it dumps it is snow on the lee side of things. again, very common until the lakes freeze over by the time we get to call hard core of winter and therefore you don't have the generation of that going forward. but of course, there's water underneath the ice for today. we've got sunny, minor breeze in place left over. we're still a touch warmer with mid 60's at work here. some upper 60's, though, in some locations this week scattered clouds early on this based on monday. then we clear out warming to the upper 60's by friday next weekend. a lot of question marks remain here. we talked about this yesterday in terms of some perhaps some

reservations filled up a month before thanksgiving. >> we have about 500 reservations for the restaurant itself. we open up reservations in october. they filled before the end of october international smoke is offering a buffet for $105 per adult. and $49 for kids wagyu prime red cedars smoke, sam and obviously a turkey. i checked out yelp, an open table, most restaurants in san francisco staying open for thanksgiving have little to no more reservations available. people eating out on thanksgiving are likely trying to avoid the soaring prices at the grocery store. so eating out might be cheaper according to the american farm bureau foundation, turkey, prices are 112% higher than last year. butters up 70% pies. canned vegetables and potatoes are all more expensive as well. ok, i had to check this out for myself to see how expensive these turkey prices are. let's take a look so far.

police say more people could have been hurt if it wasn't for some heroic people who intervened. the shooting happened just before midnight. police say the suspected shooter as a 22 year-old man who was injured and is being treated. he is in custody, though. a motive is not known at this time. police say the man walked into the club and immediately started shooting, but he was confronted by at least 2 people who fought him. police say those people prevented him from shooting more people. police found 2 guns at the scene. the fbi is assisting with the investigation. we hope to learn more information in the coming hours. another big story right here at home. 2 separate bay area freeway shootings, one of them deadly. police are still trying to figure out what happened con forcefully to call shares what we know now. >> a body tarp richmond sidewalk. it's rested next to an suv being processed for evidence on him and or street just before 3 o'clock saturday morning, california highway patrol officers closed the

area off as investigators piece together. what happened. the chp says it turns out the person who died was shot while driving on interstate 80 in oakland at the 5.80, interchange investigators say another car was involved in the 2 people inside also suffered gunshot wounds. they were taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. >> once the chp determined the body reporting in richmond, resulted from the freeway shooting within 3 hours later, the eastbound lanes of 5.80, were closed to gather evidence halting traffic for about an hour. this happening after the chp slow traffic on the upper deck of the bay bridge at around 10 o'clock friday night. just west of treasure island. >> the chp says shots were fired and the person was wounded by debris. adding, though, that investigators do not believe the 2 overnight shootings are connected over the years each investigators have had their hands document in bay area freeway shootings,

like that. we don't see a lot of diversity with temperatures there. 66 for walnut creek, concord, 64 61 for the late host. 64 fairfield looks like 65 napa in 69 santa rosa. so a little warmer up to the north bay. 7 day forecast. we'll keep it in the 60's through the period there. overnight lows into the 30's going on there. although friday, a little milder because of all that cloud cover 40's at the coast. i know the big day. don't worry. we have a burger just for you. sarah. >> thank you, dave november is native american heritage month. and joining us now to discuss this souza with the american indian cultural district. good morning. thank you so much for joining us here. the executive executive director of this organization and you been with it since the beginning. a lot of hard work has gone into it. tell our viewers what you guys do. >> so the american indian cultural district is the first cultural district united states of its size and kind. there is a cultural corridor in minneapolis and really are

our home base is in the mission district to state district and folks don't speak the supervisor. ronen supervisor mandelman is district and the mission really what we're there to do is to we're here to promote the voices of american indians to bring in equitable resources and really build out a home base. visibility so that all 500 nations across the united states can come to san francisco and really see it as that mack a place. you know, a lot of people know about the occupation of alcatraz and the big movements that that sparked across, you know, indian country. and so really want to create that visibility in the home place for native people. >> that's such important work. what is native american heritage month mean to you and your organization for me personally, native american heritage month is really it's that moment of visibility. you know, that we should have every day all year round, you need american heritage month was actually started his native american heritage day back in the 19, 100's. and, you know, 1986, they actually did the american heritage week. and then, you in 1990, it became american heritage

month. and so for us here in san francisco, it's really at least, you know, for our organization opportunity to really honor the, you know, culture contributions and and the strong, you know, history that we have here is as first peoples to any land. >> yes, american indian cultural district us started this in 2020. so one of you has been able to do in 2 years. i know you've been question. you know, fortunately, as we started our our first, you know, board of supervisors meeting was right in the middle, the pandemic. we had like 30 people in line to call in and they don't even know how to use it. at that point. they're like no comments or like what they're like. sorry, this is our first board of supervisors meeting. so it was no easy feat trying to get that established in the height of the pandemic. but some of the really amazing things that we've done is when we first came in, you know, america means we're 0.2% of population or so. the city thought. so we've actually done a lot of really good research and come up with the fact that american indians or 2.1% the population for 17,000 people in san francisco. and

so we've also worked on stuff like the housing element. you can see american indians mention our over 156 times. the climate action plan talking about, you know, a tribal consultation and consultation with urban indians and incorporating traditional ecological knowledge. there are things in the city that don't exist at the state and federal level that we've done to other things really proud of. last year. we helped established a resolution with supervisor on its office for american heritage month. we also recently worked with guards office to establish a truth and healing reparations advisory committee. that's going a resolution for work in the ordinance. it's going to be sitting under the human rights commission and actually following the discrimination by a mission, human rights commission report of over 150 natives locally who came together inside. we need a voice. we need representation need visibility because unfortunately a lot of those findings on the human rights commission report are still ongoing today. so we're really

excited to create a lot of this temple change and elevate the voices of those that have been here to really build out the cultural district. so many hurdles to overcome. and now you're doing such important work. >> i want to talk about an event you have coming up in december. very important tell us about >> we're actually working with the u.s. northern district court of appeals from saying this on. you know, we're going to talk about our project that we're doing locally, which is mapping genocide, but they're actually looking. i think it's called the war of extermination against american indians. and they're really looking at the legislation that's happened over time. and just just addressing it. you know, we talk a lot about truth and healing. and in order for there to be healing, we need to have an honest conversation about the truth. so we're going to be sitting on the panel with a lot of really great author been madly who did tell i'm sorry, american indian genocide. judge abby amazing. attorneys really speak on the legislation and what the coastal district will bring in as our local genocide mapping

project, which is part of a bigger indigenous project. we're going to be sharing ways that we've knocked out the streets in san francisco for 36 streets are honoring those who have committed genocide against american indians. and we also look to the sit civic monuments, morals collection by the same score. it's commission and identified at least 10 statues that are directly contributed to those who of committed genocide against american indians and really partnering with the community to go out and elevate what they want to see in this place. so that's we're talking about is more of the tangible, not the not the sort of legal aspect of it, but the hands on what can we do to sort of change these things, right. thank you so much. so much important work doing. >> by souza with the american indian cultural district right here in san francisco. we really appreciate you coming on. we'll be right back. thank you.
