for us, not just today, but we're also looking for activity on tomorrow, too. >> stephanie was referencing the radar, pretty much tell the tale. but we're talking about with that radar. there you see the heavier amounts are still up north. this is very typical with winter type systems that impacts the north bay before sliding out towards the broader bay. we're going to have a wave occur overnight, but we're looking for some more intense rains, actually for much of the bay occurring early afternoon into the afternoon hours a little bit, although we're going to first hit going on as we get to the later portion of the morning hours here. they're seen other clustered out of the south bay. they're extending off into mount hamilton as well. so we're getting a little break right now in the more intense rain putting into motion the parent low with all of this is far from home. so we're not going to feel that impact until really tomorrow on that front. and the winds really tell the tale on that as well, which speaking of which coming out of the southeast right now to good clip into the teens and even the 20's. we've already had this going on overnight. this will continue to the morning hours and will be around until 3 this afternoon for that wind advisory. this

in from that direction. so we're in the mild wedge here with these winds. we've already had rain, as you heard from stephanie earlier. there's alameda we did get a report out of there that they did have a thunder shower with some locally heavier winds at times up to about 33 miles per hour or so from local law enforcement. meanwhile, it's also winter up in the sierra. here's a look at donner summit. and yes, snow on not only the ground, but on the area roadways. this all comes in tandem with a winter storm warning until monday. 04:00am because this is also the storm coming for us tomorrow to that they will get snow out of the second. a system won't be as moist. it will be colder because it will be with the parent low and driving all that together. that will also lower the snow levels as well. now we're looking for snow to be several feet with all of this 4 feet to prep for the resorts when all said and done so for the weekend, not the best we can go up there. afterwards it will be a winter wonderland at that point. here's the breakdown for you. get in the sun already by monday, tuesday, highs only in the lower 30's will be banking

>> this is a kind of a slow mover. so the intense rain will kind of linger in the spots for a few hours now expected to make its way down to the south bay say 2, 3 o'clock this afternoon as well. they're going to the areas of flooding we're looking at for right now. we have. >> a flood advisory that's been posted. it's based in northern marin. sonoma. also napa counties as you'll notice there. that's again into 11 because the heaviest rain by that point would be departing that region as a starts to drift slowly to the south. here's the progress thus far. you see it making its way out for concord up to county as well and out of the southwest that's getting into san mateo county as well as well as san mateo proper. the heaviest rain. so again, calculate the next few hours for yourself there. the gusty winds of the wind advisory will be around until 3 this afternoon. the winds won't really shift the one till sunday. so we're going to be the mild sector all day today. and tonight, it's really late. tomorrow afternoon. we start getting that colder air filtering in from the north, dark clouds up north. that's from the heavy rains we've been talking about kind of interesting with the

north as a second, a system actually the low coming across midday and out of the south, which will see in our projections here donner summit. here's what it is. snow on the road and of course, on the grass. and there's quite everywhere. as you can see and a little shaking the camera indicating those winds. there is a winter storm warning for taco all the way till 04:00am on monday. here's the rain again. i kind of focused in on an oakland, san francisco down to san mateo counties. you'll notice it's starting to let go of the north bay for right now. we still have that flood advisory that's in place now up to the north bay until 11 this morning. there's the colder air behind everything. once this plays out, our low starts to move. and that's going to pull in that colder air. so with that, we can expect today quite wet, rainy. there's the mild wedge here and stormy. that's for tomorrow. this is because we have right now we have a layer right above us. that's kind of dry. but it's above freezing. this will lower the freeze level. that's
9:47 am
interesting for forecasting snow. but it's also interesting and driving thunder shower action because you start to get those ice crystals, an upslope inger and updrafts and they get up there and they start to rob against each other that get you, your lightning and also can get some hail with all of this. so the first hit we've been talking about this is what happens across the bay 0. everything out doesn't count. we've got overnight. now. but what happens this morning later on almost an inch for a san francisco and off to the inland areas of the east bay. then look what happens tomorrow from tomorrow morning. this low starts to dump heavy rains for the east bay, the south bay and peninsula. pretty much bypass in the north bay. so that's something we don't always see in winter type storm. so that low the projection of that movement looks like it's going to favor that area. showers and rain. windy early going on. that advisory till 3 as we talk about tomorrow, scattered showers, breezy the winds shift north. also the colder air coming in behind all of that might see some token snows up in mount diablo and perhaps mount hamilton with all of this. the rest of the
