north bay a little bit. again, this is expected to break up yielding again, mostly cloudy skies on balance. having said all that, not much the way of fog tomorrow morning either. at 1 o'clock that's interesting. yeah, that's not next. band of heavier rain we're expecting and that will be for your sunday noon into the afternoon for today. the early part of the day, at least a few rain showers, cloudy skies, but some breaks happening in the afternoon and into the evening, particularly in the south bay in some parts of the east bay will give you all that in a bit with high temperatures in and around so it's going remain somewhat cool, but not quite as cold as we've experienced earlier unsettled into next week as well. we'll have more on that too. all right. thank you. >> i was 17 is back open this morning after being shut down for several hours friday because of the weather kron four's gayle ong reports from the santa cruz mountains. >> 7.30 friday morning, caltrans district 5 posting this video highway 17 close. >> and you can see it's still snowing pretty heavy.

>> the snow kept the highway closed for much of the day. leaving drivers stranded at the higher altitudes. we're experiencing snow. >> with multiple vehicle spinouts at the lower altitudes. heavy rains feel pretty lucky to see it, it's been a mess that's for sure that saunders buck says he left his los gatos home in the morning. not expecting any delays hanging out here with my dog on a. >> just hang out you know, trying to kill time not nothing. much. just keep my eyes open. trying wait for the road to open back up. >> the road open just before 3 in the afternoon. caltrans work to clear the snow and push the trees on the side of the road. but in downtown felton, clear, sunny skies, parker, an indigo mccurley stepped out for lunch after dealing with the snow. we're just going to drive down to the beach and go look at the surf. but i wasn't expecting it to also snow here. so we're pretty near here. so it's pretty surprising being from cleveland and chicago. both are not new to snow. i spent the morning helping the community clear out.

>> some of the debris and the small trees that have fallen into the road. but it's been like living in a snow globe. it's absolutely beautiful. and they made the most of it. these are photos from their hike in ben lowman in the morning. i had a good time some of the snow had melted the chp and caltrans urge caution while out on the roads. >> there are still local road closures around the santa cruz mountains kron. 4 news. >> and snow certainly made travel difficult around the peninsula as well. palo alto police working overnight to clear parts of page mill road of snow and downed trees. officers have not yet said when that section of road will reopen. and they a snow and slick pavement caused a major backup in the livermore hills friday morning. just look at that. alameda county fire says more than 100 cars got stuck in the snow at the patterson pass summit. the fire crews use shovels to help dig everybody out. and power's back on this morning. after people in calais, togo were

left in the dark for nearly 9 hours friday, a problem that kept most of the businesses in town from opening. the mayor says the city does have generators for power outages. that may happen during wildfires. and now the city council is considering using those same generators for situations like this. >> comes into play. we most likely would have power in the event of a lockout any time of year. >> if the generators are approved for regular power outages. the mayor says this policy may not take effect for another year or 2. and join us online as we track the storm, including and this link will take you to a page that will cover the latest road closures and power outages in your area. all you have to do is scan this qr code on your screen that will take you to that section of our website. and new this morning. a fire started at lake various as markley cove. just look at all those flames and smoke going

up into the air. this happened just after 10 o'clock last night. this is video and photos from cal fire. firefighters say the fire damage 10 to 20 boats, jet skis and houseboat. the dock ended up breaking off and floating into the lake. eventually part of a dog even ended up sinking. firefighters say they had the fire under control around 11. nobody was injured. happening today. east bay congresswoman barbara lee hold her senate campaign launch rally at laney college in oakland. it's free and starts at noon. lee officially announced her senate run earlier this week. she joins a field that already includes fellow democrats, adam schiff and katie porter. and they're all hoping to replace the retiring sen dianne feinstein. police in fairfield are warning the community about online rental scams. they say a victim recently contacted investigators after sending $3,000 in rental deposit money for a property posted online

by a scammer. the victim even spoke to a fake realtor over the phone. the victim realize they've been scammed when they saw the same home listed for a different price in another ad, police say this is at least the second time they've gotten reports of this type of scam. in the first case, the victim lost more than $3400. police say there are several things to look out for. when you are looking at real estate properties online, they say scammers will try to get a security deposit from victims without letting them see the property and find an excuse not to meet potential victims in person. police say a it's best to never hand over a deposit until you signed your lease. coming up on the kron 4 morning news. a local dj with a well-known bay area. radio station has gone missing, according to officers. >> the details after this. and coming up, we have dave spahr live in the weather center tracking all those wet and windy conditions of for you

vandergrift has not been seen since leaving his home on king street thursday night around 10 o'clock. he's about 6 foot tall is described as bald the tattoos on his arms and above his right ear. he was last seen wearing black sweat pants. while 94.9 sent out a statement saying they are very concerned about this and say staffers are working with san francisco police and vandergrift's wife. anyone with information is asked to please call san francisco pd. in the east bay. one person is dead after a shooting in oakland. police say it happened just before 8 o'clock last night on international boulevard near 72nd avenue. the victim died at the scene and their name has not yet been released. we know that the shooter is still on the loose at this hour. >> ok, cool to start, but not quite cold. like we've been treated to also hosting some showers going on there looks like solano county in the east bay getting kind of a lion share of all of that got to remain kind of overcast and gloomy looking for your

>> sfo just showing that real quick there. as you can see, a lot of cloud cover it all at breaking news. i'm sorry, stephanie, you have something here. >> initial story that we wanted to get to you we are looking at breaking news at this hour's and public. police are asking people to avoid eastbound. i-80. this is at san pablo dam road following a major traffic accident. and this is a live look at the from our camera. you can see i'm right in the middle of your screen. there looks like officers are kind of gathered around it. there's a car that's blocking all lanes. it appears to have completely been flipped over. we are learning, but this appears to be a fatal a traffic collision on at least one person dead. police are telling people to expect a traffic backup for several hours. drivers in the meantime, can you san pablo dam road has a duty to are here. so again, this breaking news and public police asking people to avoid eastbound. i-80 at san pablo dam road

following this fatal traffic collision. right now. turning back to the we are going to check in with dave now for how conditions are for folks who want to take a walk this morning. and yeah, in a tough travel to kind of overcast skies but no delays occurring in all of this. and probably today is the best day of a break. >> and a lot of the action that we've seen going on. we have some morning showers we talked about that's mostly up in the north bay. >> putting this into motion, you'll see what we're talking about. it looks kind of threatening a little bit here, but as you'll see in the projections that really kind of falls apart and fall south, although that kind of gloomy cloud cover will be with us. it looks like too much of the day with minor breaks. one thing comes with that, though, the temperatures are somewhat a little bit more modest here in the 30's there, the upper 30's. 38 for livermore east bay shoreline, lower 40's. so yeah, it's cool and all that. but it's not as cold as we've experienced. we've seen colder numbers and this when we're actually getting precipitation from last week. so with what we have here, this actually

gives us a little bit of moderation here temporarily. here's what's going on here as we go forward with future cast for as i mentioned, you can see that all kind of fall apart. some breaks in the skies. you might see some sun poke out there a little bit. not a lot, but at least the rain, the winds, all that's been turned off temperatures by winter standards, somewhat modest and so forth. so it's a great day to take a break. it looks like that tonight. tomorrow morning. a couple rain showers starting to develop like we had today. a quick break. and then the real shoe falls. this is the heavier stuff right through sunday afternoon. so we're not going to have the kind of quiet weather that we have today by contrast, although today not real, sunny at all, but at least we're taking a break from that now, the other good news is this will move on out for tomorrow night and by your monday morning commute again. another break. so you can get the work and all that kind of stuff by the afternoon that will become more involved. we might get a winds pop from that bigger system next week. let's get through tomorrow. first, here's a quick win pop that probably won't cause any wind advisory

sierra in the bay area dealing with severe weather. take a look at this. this is major flooding in la county. our chris wolfe takes a look at the damage conditions and people there are facing. >> streets in studio city have become lakes with this latest round of severe winter weather a california. meteorologists say is the storm hones in on the southern part of the state. it is intensifying if not snow. the forecast calls for several inches of rain in many communities. more clear evidence the la river is swollen and racing through the san fernando valley. while this news crew was covering conditions in the valley, our phones erupted with an emergency alert from the national weather service. a flash flood warning is in effect for this area until 10:00pm. this is a dangerous and life-threatening situation. do not attempt to travel unless you are fleeing to safety. people can expect

road closures, washouts and debris floats. mudd was flowing early friday in woodland hills. a hillside was disintegrating under heavy rain, sending mud down into i mean, a bold home. >> some of that came to our fortunately, we've had some neighbors who helped shovel mud. well, the is eroding. and if that fails, that road will be unpassable. so that will trap all this houses in the neighborhood. the ground follow the pavement up here is saturated and >> that the street is heavily compromised. a neighbor is doing work, had an engineer. he was just out here. walking down on the, took photos and he saw the the area where the roshan that she could see was taking place about 6 feet

eris. the study looked at each city's air quality access to parks and pedestrian fatality numbers. and 3 california cities made the top 10, including san jose which came in at number 9 san diego rate of 4 and memphis was named the worst city in america for runners. and a lawsuit has been filed against a southern california man who won a record breaking 2 billion dollar powerball jackpot. check out this video from when the winner edwin castro was announced. castro did not attend word ceremony. but another man, jose rivera claims that he actually bought the winning ticket at joe's servic center in altadena the day before the drawing. rivera claims that his ticket was stolen and has asked the california lottery to investigate. lottery officials say they remain confident that castro is the rightful winner of the 2 billion dollar prize. still ahead on the kron 4

towards the east bay. this is actually going to break up as we get to the latter morning hours and throughout the day today, kind of mostly cloudy will cover us on balance couple raise a son, though, will poke out just a little bit. and then it's tomorrow afternoon. we're looking for the next wave of somewhat substantial rain. okay, temperature check for you. this may not look like much. it's still chilly, but upper 30's at work here in 40's on the board here. so it's not as cold as we thought it was going to be, which is good news and all those chili statements and so forth from before they have been subsequently been canceled when tracker what's going on here? we've single digits for now. there's a little bit of a pop that's going to happen with those winds as we start to get into the afternoon hours tomorrow. here's a look ahead, though, for your day. some light rain showers early on, mostly cloudy, on balance for today. temperatures reaching at about 50 nothing much to write home about, but at least we're getting to somewhat winter moderation here a little bit. looks unsettled as we get into next week, however, will be painting that part of the story in a bit. stephanie.

>> and we want to providing you an update on that breaking news that we brought to you at the top of the hour here. san pablo police are asking people again to avoid eastbound. i-80 as san pablo dam road following a deadly traffic accident. this is again, another live view at the scene. you can see a car completely flipped over on its roof. and police are currently blocking all lanes of traffic. we know this happened around 5.15 this morning and this was a fatal traffic collision. at least one person dead. police are telling people to expect a traffic backup for several hours in this area. in the meantime, drivers can use and pablo dam road as a detour. again, officers are asking people to avoid eastbound. i-80 it said pablo dam road following this deadly traffic accident. and oakland police arrested the driver they say is responsible for a fatal hit and run the victim. 100 year old chinatown resident kron

four's dan kerman reports. >> i'm here to announce that an arrest was made of an individual connected to the fatal hit and 100 year-old oakland resident. mister, come at a news conference friday, police announced the arrest of an oakland woman for hitting and killing 100 year old chinatown resident who was on his daily walk sunday morning near 19th and harrison. this is citizen video just after the collision. police say after hitting the man the suspect drove off is a thing try to finally, you thing for now. >> by the i think we're just you it been useful or most of us because you know, that sending out possibly hurting as well. this past tuesday, police released surveillance photos of a tan or white mini cooper. >> which they said struck the victim, getting the word out appears to have helped. i will say, though. >> we have a lot of support and and cooperation with the community. a lot of people

oakland, a destructive fire burned through the building, destroying historic place of worship. >> i was shocked that was shocked. members were but, you know, we have we have turned a bad situation into a good situation. pastor rodney d smith says the church is getting a helping hand from some friends in oakland for the time being fame church will hold sunday services at temple. beth abraham course we feel terrible for them and the fire and what's happened to their church. but >> our community is really moved by the fact that we have opportunity to to help. >> rabbi marc blum says there's a long history between the temple in the church. both houses of worship have existed in oakland for more than 100 years. video of the large fire was hard for the rabbi to watch. my first thought was selfish, which was what happened to us. >> and can't even imagine. but my immediate second thought was going to need some help and they would do the same for us now works in mysterious

explains. >> well, the lawmaker behind this narcan bill boils down to improvement of the following words, accessibility and affordability. >> inside this plastic bag is naloxone often referred to as nauck am. the drug has gotten a lot of attention in recent years because of its potential to save lives by reversing an opioid overdose in 2021 alone, california, some more than 5700 overdose deaths attributed to fentanyl and other opiates and across the u.s. that number stood even higher at more than 100,000. the data so dire that last week a panel of advisors from the federal food and drug administration or fda unanimously recommended nor can be made available for purchase over-the-counter. a major change from current requirements that narcan be made available only with the prescription. the main goal is to save lives, assembly member liz ortega points out the fda panel recommendation to allow narcan for over-the-counter purchases. it was just that a

recommendation, but she adds the fda is likely to formally approve the recommendation next month. if the agency goes forward with that, her new legislation would require medical and private insurers to cover over-the-counter narcan costs across the state. something she says is necessary to help people pay for a drug that can vary from 50 to $150 depending on the pharmacy and do some out. if we're serious about saving lives, said when you have to be serious about making sure that people can afford it. >> that it's available and availability, she says must apply to people of all backgrounds and ages. it hits my heart. >> i raise 4 kids. i still have a teenager at home and i can't even imagine i can't even fab them to think that i would find my daughter dead because fentanyl and because i couldn't i didn't have access to that light say the medication we want to save lives. >> and no word on any formal opposition to this bill. but

this point into tomorrow. >> by the way, in tahoe, the snow comes and it continues really really for tomorrow on into early next week as we get rain. thank you for sunday and into early next week to some of the higher mountain tops mount diablo, mount hamilton. all that kind of business mount tam. yeah, you make a little bit of snow going on up there. but at least at these lower levels shouldn't pose as much of an issue where there will be issues all the way until 04:00am on wednesday. this winter storm warning, particularly you see by the bright reds here. this is going to go on all the way until the middle of next week. and obviously the higher elevations. that's why they're getting it. and this is more closer to typical snow levels were going to get for next week for a winter months, not dipping so much into below the 1000 level. let's watch some of these waves come through. in the longer range forecast. there's that hit sunday. another one on monday after the morning commute. that's when this juice, your stuff gets in here. and then we take a breather for the latter portion of next week. and then into next weekend, it looks

like we will revisit more rain coming as well. this will be early march now and that is now technically the meta logical spring. by that point. looks like that breaks up a little bit into the following week. 4 zone forecast covering you for the saturday. 51 san francisco. the coast has plenty of 40's to about 50 or so. as you can see, not a lot of movement happening down here and the peninsula 40's as well. meanwhile, to the south bay, 51 san jose cupertino as well, east bay shoreline at around 50 some upper 40's there for some of the inland spots. that depends on how many cracks of sun. you get 50 for a concord, 50 also for berkeley. not a lot of decoupling in this kind of weather pattern. pretty much the same regardless where you are. 52 for fairfield and 55. meanwhile, for santa rosa. so today it kind of looks like a, you know, gloomy day. it's going to stay that way throughout the afternoon with a couple breaks of sun. the rain gets here by noon tomorrow. early showers are possible. but the heavier stuff, high temperatures will stay at around 50 or so. that's a little improvement from last week. but better

then 2 hours after the second shooting, another deadly shooting. this one happening around 10, 30 last night on 60th avenue. that victim also dying there. police have not said if these shootings are connected and the names of the victims have not yet been released. we are working our sources with the oakland police department and will update you once we have any new developments. and more breaking news we're following this morning's and public police asking people to avoid eastbound. i-80 as san pablo dam road following a deadly traffic accident. >> this is a live look at the scene and we first brought this perspective to you in our 07:00am hour, you can see a car flipped completely over on its roof in the middle of your screen. there. and police are blocking all lanes. it does look like there may be some sort of a tow truck on the upper left-hand side when they might be a working on some cleanup efforts there as well. we know that this collision happened around 5.15, this morning. police are telling people to expect a traffic

clear parts of page mill road of snow and downed trees. officers have not yet said when that section of roadway will reopen. but we will update you once we have an update from them and in the east bay snow and slick pavement caused a major backup in the livermore hills friday morning. just look at that. alameda county fire says more than 100 cars got stuck in the snow at the patterson passed summit. the fire crews you can see their use shovels to help get everyone out of that difficult situation. and power is back on this morning for people after people and tell us do that were left in the dark for nearly 9 hours friday. a problem. they kept many businesses in town from opening the mayor of the city says that they do have generators for power outages that happened during wildfires. but now the city council is considering using those same generators for situations like this one.

to a story we're following out of san francisco. while 94.9 radio host j v has gone missing. san francisco police say 54 year-old jeffrey vandergrift has not been seen since leaving his home on king street in san francisco thursday night around 10. he's about 6 feet tall is described as bald with tattoos on his arms and above his right ear. he was last seen wearing black sweat pants. while 94.9 sending out this statement saying they are deeply concerned and say that staffers are working closely with san francisco police and vandergrift's wife. anyone with information is asked to please call san francisco pd.

and police in fairfield are warning the community about online rental scams. they say the victim recently contacted investigators after sending a $3,000 deposit rental rental deposit, rather for a property posted online by a scammer. the victim says that they even spoke with a fake realtor over the phone. the victim realize they've been scammed when they saw the same home listed for a different price in another ad, police say this is at least the second time they've gotten reports of this type of scam. the first case the victim lost more than $3400. police say there are several things you can look out for when you're checking out real estate properties online. they say scammers will try to get a security deposit from victims without letting them see the property and then they'll find an excuse to not meet you in person. investigators say it's important to never hand over any deposit money until a lease is signed. >> and here's a look at our radar real quick. there's a couple little showers hold

and for your money this morning, that could be finally an end in sight to those sky-high egg prices. the uc it u.s. a d a's chief economist says wholesale egg prices will fall about 30% this year. that's if the u.s. avoids more breakouts of bird flu, which killed more than 58 million chickens since last year. the price of a dozen eggs was up 150% in january from a year ago. as people across the country deal with high rent and inflation. many millennials still rely on their parents to make ends meet a new survey by one poll found that 35% of respondents get their parents to cover at least one bill. 24% say their parents pay for their rents and 19% say their parents cover grocery costs. many do try to manage on their own but say that they have a tough time finding work that pays a livable wage. still, 72% of respondents said they want to take on their own bills in the

other opiates and across the u.s. that number stood even higher at more than 100,000. the data so dire that last week a panel of advisors from the federal food and drug administration or fda unanimously recommended narcan be made available for purchase over-the-counter. a major change from current requirements that narcan be made available only with the prescription. the main goal is to save lives, assembly member liz ortega points out the fda panel recommendation to allow narcan for over-the-counter purchases. was just that a recommendation, but she adds the fda is likely to formally approve the recommendation next month. if the agency goes forward with that, her new legislation would require medical and private insurers to cover over-the-counter narcan costs across the state. something she says is necessary to help people pay for a drug that can vary from 50 to $150 depending on the pharmacy and do some out. if we're serious about saving lives, said when you have to be serious about making sure that people can afford it. >> that it's available and

into the early afternoon. this all course translates in the higher elevations to more snow is even though the snow levels won't be as low as we experience. these are high temperatures so still quite cold up there monday into tuesday. therefore, it's no surprise winter storm warning where you see all the bright reds until 04:00am on wednesday, we're calling into the bay area unsettled, but our snow levels are going up a little bit more. so so they won't quite be as low as they were from the previous week to showing you the traffic from the pacific boom. that's what goes on tomorrow. then we get into monday, new niche or so in the afternoon and more unsettled weather with rain and another quick event happens thursday night into friday. perfect timing. if you blink, you miss it. we get a break on friday. but then into next weekend, it looks like the return of yet more rain showers. this by that point is going to be into early march here. so the technological, logical rather spring will arrive by that 0. 51 san francisco readings along the

coast. pretty chilly in the 40's and near about 50 as we're seeing on bayside to. we're all trying to reach near about 50 for a high. that's about an average high in the south bay. same kind of deal, cupertino. 51 along with san jose east bay shoreline at around 50. we don't see the good decoupling. we see with the weather pattern of better warming going on with tri valley still and then upper 40's to around 50 degree range for highs today and again, minus the precipitation. 52 fairfield, 53 napa in 55. meanwhile, for santa rosa, still a little bit of warming happening and a couple little pockets. all right. for the unsettled weather that we spoke up again. rain coming tomorrow. a little cooler into next week. but those highs managing about 50, at least so no more this upper 40's business, at least we take a breather toward the latter portion of the week. and most importantly, our lows at night look like they're holding into the 40's inland. so that, again, snow levels, a little higher than all of this. of course, you can always rule out maybe couple claps of thunder sometimes to to get some instability. and as we

let's check in with dave spahr who has more on the rain that we've been seeing this morning a day. a good morning, stephanie. good morning, everybody. some light rain showers to hold together a little bit up in the north bay. we're going to take a breather to see this pretty much all day today. mostly cloudy skies on balance. >> temperatures a bit on the cool side, but not quite as cold as we've experienced already. here's the process thus far, our progress. lots of 30's still up in the north bay at this hour, although it could have in the lower 30's, there were some statements earlier because of this, but because of that little bit of rain is actually supported temperatures a bit. we're now in the lower 40's now for good breath of the bay. 44, meanwhile, for san jose, contrast for you. a couple degrees head as we were than 24 hours ago and what's left of the rain. you can see some again hanging on up towards the north this afternoon will be kind of a mostly cloudy day. we're looking for what to watch the fog and all of this, ok? well, tonight, sunsets, some patchy, clearing skies a bit and some fog develops that

radiation fog is because of all that rain that we've had. okay and then another break. and then wow, by tomorrow afternoon. what's that? that's the rain. we're going to get some intense spots to be noted, but it will probably reach its peak for a good chunk of the bay. 12, 1 o'clock tomorrow afternoon. then there's no more as we get into early next week. so again, no to those morning showers concentrated in the north a little bit off to the east bay, cloudy as we get to the ron the noon hour. but again, some peeks of sun in there as well. will kind of put your forecast together for you coming up in a bit. stephanie. all right, dave, thank you. >> breaking news we are following from overnight. 3 deadly shootings in the city of oakland all taking place within a matter of hours. that first shooting happening around 7.45 last night on the 7200 block of international boulevard when officers got to the scene, they found a victim suffering from gunshot wounds. that victim died at that scene. the second shooting happening just an hour later. just 2 blocks away on the 7,000 block of international boulevard. that victim also

dying there. then 2 hours after the second shooting, another deadly shooting. this one happening around 10, 30 last night on 60th avenue. that victim also died at the scene. police have not said yet if these shootings are connected, the names of the victims have not yet been released. but we are working our sources to try and get more information for you. and more breaking news. we are following this morning. san pablo police asking people to avoid this stretch of roadway eastbound. i-80 at san pablo dam road following a deadly traffic accident. this is a live look at the scene and it doesn't look like that. they may have done some significant cleanup here. we did see a tow truck working to pull over or remove one of the vehicles that were involved in this deadly collision. >> we do know that this happened around 5.15, this morning. it does look at like at this hour that traffic is starting to move along a little bit smoother. we were

delays hanging out here with my dog ghana. >> just hang out you know, trying to kill time not nothing. much. just keep my eyes open. trying wait for the road to open back up. >> the road open just before 3 in the afternoon, caltrans worked to clear the snow and push the trees on the side of the road. but in downtown felton, clear, sunny skies, parker, an indigo mccurley stepped out for lunch after dealing with the snow. you're just going to drive down to the beach and go look at the surf. but i wasn't expecting it to also snow here. so we're pretty near here. so it's pretty surprising being from cleveland and chicago. both are not new to snow. i spent the morning helping the community clear out. >> some of the debris and the small trees that have fallen into the road. but it's been like living in a snow glove. it's absolutely beautiful. and they made the most of it. these are photos from their hike in ben lowman in the morning. i had a good time. some of the snow had melted a chp and caltrans urge caution while out on the roads. >> there are still local road

closures around the santa cruz mountains. gayle ong kron. 4 news. >> and all that snow may travel a bit difficult around the peninsula as well. how about a police worked overnight to clear parts of page mill road of snow and downed trees. officers have not yet said when that section of roadway will reopen. and in the east bay snow and slick pavement caused a major backup in the livermore hills friday morning. just look at that. alameda county fire says more than 100 cars got stuck in the snow at the patterson pass summit. well, the fire crews, as you can see there, they were quite busy using shovels to help rescue everybody and dig him out of that tough situation. and power is back on this morning for after people in calistoga were left in the dark for nearly 9 hours friday. a problem that kept many businesses in town from opening. the mayor says the city does have generators for power outages that might happen during wildfires. and now the city council is thinking of using those same

a story out of san francisco. well, 94.9 radio host jv has gone missing. san francisco police say 54 year-old jeffrey vandergrift has not been seen since he left his home on king street thursday night around 10 o'clock. he's about 6 feet tall is described as bald with tattoos on his arms and above his right ear. he was last seen wearing black sweat pants. well, 94.9 sent out a statement. they're saying that, you know, they're deeply

concerned and say that staffers are working closely with san francisco police and vandergrift's wife. anyone with information is asked to please call sfpd. and police in fairfield are warning the community about online rental scams. they say a victim recently contacted investigators after sending a three-thousand dollar rental deposit for a property posted online by a scammer. the victim even spoke to a fake realtor over the phone. they say the victim realize they've been scammed when they saw the same home listed for a different price in another ad, police say this is at least the second time they've gotten reports of this type of scam. in the first case, the victim lost more than $3400. officers say there are several things you can look out for when you're checking out real estate properties online. they say scammers will try to get a security deposit from victims without letting them see the property and find an excuse to not meet you in person. police also say to never hand over a deposit until a lease is

and into the early morning hours today. police tell kron 4 that they are still working to gather more information we will keep you updated as we learn more. in oakland, police arrested the driver they say is responsible for a fatal hit and run. the victim was 100 year old chinatown resident kron four's dan kerman reports. >> i'm here to announce that an arrest was made of an individual connected to the fatal hit and run 100 year-old oakland resident. mister, come at a news conference friday, police announced the arrest of an oakland woman for hitting and killing 100 year old chinatown resident who was on his daily walk sunday morning near 19th and harrison. this is citizen video just after the collision. police say after hitting the man the suspect drove off is a thing try to finally, you know, a thing for now. >> by the i think we're just, you it been useful or most of us because, you know, that

california, some more than 5700 overdose deaths attributed to fentanyl and other opiates and across the u.s. that number stood even higher at more than 100,000. the data so dire that last week a panel of advisors from the federal food and drug administration or fda unanimously recommended narc can be made available for purchase over-the-counter. a major change from current requirements that narcan be made available only with the prescription. the main goal is to save lives. assembly member liz ortega points out the fda panel recommendation to allow narcan for over-the-counter purchases. it was just that a recommendation, but she adds the fda is likely to formally approve the recommendation next month. if the agency goes forward with that, her new legislation would require medical and private insurers to cover over-the-counter narcan costs across the state. something she says is necessary to help people pay for a drug that can vary from 50 to $150 depending on the pharmacy and do some out. if we're serious about saving lives, said when you have to

people making their way down the roads, which are probably pretty damp from the early morning shower. they came across san francisco. let's check in with day for the latest. hey, stephanie, good morning, everybody. and at the golden gate, you've seen a lot of winds working their magic. they're a little bit. >> but kind of that overcast sky conditions and you 70 falls is covered up by snow going on. as you can see this going up and you 70, we're seeing the same thing up in tahoe. but this is from the snow they've already had, as you can see, excuse me. my my jacket is kind of rising in the back but there are storm tracker 4. we've got going on here. we've got some leftover showers in the bay here. just a touch here. >> they're going to break up and we're going to stick with mostly cloudy skies for this afternoon. but as i mentioned earlier, it's basically a 24 hour break. before we start to see some action returned back to the tahoe forecast. by the way, highs in the 20's snow each day. that's why they do have a winter storm warning going on. there's a watch a little bit going on as well and blizzard conditions to be had. but this is all until

is jessica zoo be zoo or read up with the humane society. silicon valley and she's brought a very special friend to introduces 2. thank you so much for being here with our take. and you've brought a happy. yes, this is happy and treat her name. she is definitely one happy girl. >> she loves to greet everyone with a nice full body will go when they come us and with lots of enthusiasm and she has been looking for her home for about a month now. and we're hoping that we can find that today or sometime soon. yes, yes, and so tell us a little bit about her story because she was first adopted from you as of sept. you know, while yeah. yeah. so happy of originally came to us from the some of our rescue partners in the central valley. they receive a really high volume of dogs and puppies. and we're lucky enough to have the resources to be able to help them out. and so happy was originally adopted from u.s. early 2020, she was returned back about a month just that have time for her anymore. but

she is a great dog. overall. she's train. she's great with other dogs. she is an angel in her foster home right now. and what's even better is that with our current valentine's day promotion, her adoption fee is currently yeah, it was. so people can go home and just go home with you know, all of our adoption fees, they she's microchip. she's spayed. she's up to date on all of her and happy even comes with the training scholarships that are up on the paw for success in her new and she even comes with a doggy activity tracker like a like a fit bit, called the whistle and that will go home with her. 2 are. doctors is also wonder she's kind of the full package you know, tell us a bit about what people should know about with with your organization. of course, we are resource for shelters throughout that don't have as many resources don't have as many adopters like we do here in the bay area. so by adopting from us, you actually allow us to continue our

lifesaving efforts more at risk parts of california. we are seeing adoption slowdown right around this time of year. and we're trying to encourage anyone that's interested if they'd like to come in to adopt and it would be great so that we could continue to put more needy animals from from other shelters. and i've just to share with everyone i've seen this work firsthand. it's pretty incredible. i used to be a volunteer with the humane society. silicon valley. >> you started out as a dog socialize or no work with them full time. yeah. i mean, how many animals do you currently should we care for hundreds of animals? each we do transports of 2030, dogs twice a year to even 3 times a week from the u.s. more at risk so we're really helping out dogs who would really and then caps would really have no other option nominee were so adoption is really an important part of that process because every animal, if you're adopting only saying that animals life, that you're saving the life of an animal and another shelters. well, absolutely. and you have any other special events that are
