are, of course, covering a lot of news for you today. let's get started by looking at the weather with dave sphar. pretty chilly out there day. >> this is true. good stephanie. good morning, everybody. and the important point to make it's going to be a little shocked of the system because coupled with all of this, we're going have the overcast skies basically all day for all parts and those temperatures will be reduced even though it's the unofficial start of summer. here's a quick look at what the radar is like. there's a couple splotches that are appearing on here. but remember, this is going through some dry air. so the way we're going to phrase it is they'll be some patches of drizzle most likely in areas that are very sensitive to get touches along the coast. you have a thick marine layer, the kind of help out a little bit. but the thumb on the scale. so i hope you can wash your car yesterday. maybe get a little bit of drizzle on a potentially today, but overcast as which you can bank on. and this is going to be a morning phenomena we're going to deal with. but this cloud cover, unfortunately is not that san jose state. and you can see just socked in with all the cloud cover winds right now on shore. it will be a bit of a %reezy in spots

you'll see into the teens and even 20's mid-fifties the temperature check. 58 going on for antioch, but don't expect a lot of mercury movement today, even though with the cloud cover, we're couple degrees ahead of yesterday. so cloudy, cloudy, cloudy, and you get 60's just about all locations, even well inland. there is, however, hope for your tomorrow, however. so keep that girl ready as temperatures start to warm, starting tomorrow, stephanie. all right, dave, thank you. >> happening right now, the california highway patrol is on maximum enforcement this memorial day weekend. kron four's philippe djegal reports on the increase in officers on the roadways and what they're keeping an eye out for. >> the california highway patrol is intentionally more visible. this extended memorial day weekend with millions hitting the roadways. the chp is balancing the increased traffic with more officers to crack down on poor driving, hopefully with the public. just seen us that will change certain people's habits or >> deter them from morning to speed a little bit more because they see an officer

answering that phone call checking that facebook page, hopefully putting on their seat belt when they see us. so that will deter them and obviously help them. also through late monday night, the chp is in a period of maximum enforcement officer custodio lopez says last year across the state, the chp made nearly 900 dui arrests during this holiday weekend. during the same period last year, 45 people lost their lives >> crashes and it increased 30% compared to 2021. take simple steps to save lives. if you choose to consume alcohol or drugs, better to pay $100 for your uber or lyft. and always tell everybody, hey, texans are still around. if you take the train, hoping to somebody who can walk with you or the best thing that i tell everybody is just think about your festivities. there's always a family member or friend that's there. that usually doesn't drink. how about we utilize them to and don't forget to bubble up and put it on leap blonde revenue.

and i think correctly. >> new this morning, all lanes are back open on highway 4 in pittsburgh after a fatal crash last night. it happened near bailey road around 11:14pm. preliminary reports to chp. so a crash happened between a motorcycle and a white sedan. the chp is now investigating. police arrested 2 women accused of stealing $50,000 worth of merchandise in santa rosa. the theft happened at the sunglasses hut at santa rosa plaza. investigators say the entire operation involved 6 men or other says 6 women and a man. this is a look at some of the merchandise recovered by santa rosa police officers arrested ariana tory study ms be of san francisco. the pair of suspects face several charges including robbery, organized retail, theft and conspiracy. the remaining suspects are still on the loose.

>> video shows a boat rescue in san francisco. the coast guard says the vessel lost its mast due to poor weather on wednesday. 3 people were on board. no one was hurt. in national news. president biden and speaker of the house kevin mccarthy reached an agreement to raise the country's debt ceiling and cut government spending. the deal ends a monthslong stalemate. now congress must approve the package to prevent the u.s. from defaulting on its loans. the treasury secretary has said the u.s. has until june 5th, the for the country runs out of money to pay its bills. speaker mccarthy calling the bill a compromise. >> after weeks of negotiations, we have come to an agreement in principle. we still have a lot of work to do. but i believe this is agreement in principle that's worthy of the american people. >> the tentative deal would raise the debt limit for 2 years and cap spending. it would also advanced energy projects and add more work requirements for food stamp

recipients. president biden calling the agreement good news for the american people. >> happening now, bart trains will not run between the rockbridge and stations today or tomorrow. this is so crews can do track work on the yellow line. bus shuttles will be available between the stations. you can expect up to 30 minute delays. happening this morning. the grand parade of the carnival san francisco festival is set to kick off in the city's mission district, celebrating latin american and african culture four's. tiffany justice is live at the festival with more. and tiffany, how's it looking out there right now? >> it's starting to get busy. this is a starting point for the grand parade which is set to kick off around 9.30 this morning. the floats are supposed to line up behind does on bryant street. some of the low rider cars have already arrived this morning. so the parade will start here at the corner of 24th and bryant street proceed mission street and head north on mission to 15th street, then

turn east 15th and end on south van ness. we're anticipating thousands of people here at carnivals after cisco. they estimate this weekend's two-day event will track pre-pandemic audience is around 400,000 people. >> and all along that route, people will be having fun, partying and organizers say admission to this parade is free. >> this event's theme this year is 45 years of music and movement. and with that, they say that it was chosen to honor the many artists who have shaped this multicultural and multigenerational celebration. so again, this parade will start at 9.30 today. they'll be performances, vendors, food, everything you need to have to have a good time reporting live to be justice kron. 4 news. all right. sounds like it's going to be a great time. thank you so much for that. to me. >> let's take a look at the list of street closures. there's quite a few as you can see on your screen there tied to the parade and all of them

trail and lunged at the family when their dog started to bark, he then followed them apparently threatening to stab them. clark was later found near a costco on santa rosa avenue and arrested. this past winter produced record snowfall in california. but a study from the scripps institution of oceanography suggest the state should expect less snow in the years to come. researchers say that's because temperatures continue to rise across the globe, meaning less snow will fall in the sierra by the 2nd half of this century. researchers are using snow lines as an indicator here. that's the boundary between a rpsnow covered and snow free surface, fun facts their day. >> yeah. and today a it's a cold day is what we've got going on. lots of cloud cover. even some drizzle going on in the morning hours, particularly areas near the water. want to watch out for some of that and highs only in the 60's we make up for tomorrow, though it looks li look at you taking the win with quality top tier gas for less. oh a bird! cute!

>> all right. welcome back to the kron. 4 morning news. we're taking a live look now at the bay bridge. and you can see in american flag out this enter their it's kind of being pushed about by the wind. so not too heavy of a breeze. this memorial day weekend at this hour. but looking quite gray and overcast out there day. >> yeah, more of that to come, stephanie. today. it's not at all feeling like the time of year at all as we have a cool treat going on today and actually temperatures will be some some somewhat subdued

next week, even with a lot of sunshine at work. i want to point out the radar real quick. there are a couple splotches use a no ice. a little line up here up in the north bay appearing. that's what the radar is seeing. however, it has to go through some dry air with this. so it has some help around marine layer where it's already moist. it may managed to make it to the ground with some coastal drizzle and some drizzle and the east bay shoreline possible. this is all morning part of the program that afternoon, replace it with cloudy skies hand more of the same with temperatures on the cool side today. here's handles a state to give an idea even inland. we're looking at lots of cloud cover forecast today keeps that overcast cold drizzle for san francisco at 60 62 for oakland. we'll throw some drizzle in their early on. and then for san jose about 68 in cloudy, cool in those temps the 60's. pretty good, though. that's 10 degrees up from where they stand now at 58 60 going on for antioch up to the north bay. we have mid 50's at work here. 54 for san francisco there. the onshore winds. they would testify a little bit today. generally speaking, the heaviest winds

will be right across the golden gate up through solano county parking. a straight with the numbers will pop a little bit this afternoon. all of the onshore direction acting is that climate a factor here? we have a to future cast for an cloud cover. go away. it's here all day today. however, tomorrow starting off on a cloudy note, true. but then by the afternoon, opening up pretty nicely. still going to have some problem areas the fog and so forth along the coast. but at least it'll open up nicely for folks in london and throughout much of the bay. and we'll see those temperatures return to the 70's and many parts still on the east bay shoreline. lot of 60's, though, today, cloudy, patchy drizzle, cool 60's. that's just about everywhere going on. so the microclimates not too impressive. today, memorial day early clouds. nice, though, into the afternoon. mild temps, though, cool in spots, though. we've got 70's inland and then we warm up all week long popping near about 80 or so come the end of the week to the street this week later this week. one on we should be popping your about 80 towards the end of the week. highs today only about 70 for antioch, upper

60's. you can see and all the east bay there. 75 santa rose also were worth noting. 68 meanwhile for san jose and there you have it for the next couple of days. monday. that's the morning cloud cover break into the afternoon in fog and sun for your tuesday. stephanie. all right, dave, thank you for that update. >> santa rosa police are investigating after a confrontation between 2 men at a local cemetery. it happened early saturday morning. the suspect, alejandro guerrero bargain is accused of pointing a gun at a man and firing that gun at the ground at santa rosa memorial park cemetery. police arrested him. he is accused of assault with a deadly weapon and having other items in his possession, including brass knuckles, a dagger and a collapsible baton. the fbi is now joining the investigation into a toxic dust release at the bar teen as refinery. this comes 6 months after that refinery sent 24 tons of toxic dust containing heavy metals over the city of martinez and

surrounding communities. fbi teams have been canvassing neighborhoods this week visiting homes and speaking with residents, a report by the contra costa county health department is expected june 6, which will focus on slow collection data from 14 different locations. in a statement, martinez refinery says, quote, we are aware of the doj investigation and as a matter of policy do not comment to legal pending legal matters, rather, we are cooperating with all relevant agencies, including with respect to any ongoing investigations related to this incident. we would, however, like to take this opportunity to apologize again to the martinez community for the spent catalyst released on november. 24th. we have thoroughly investigated the incident to identify appropriate corrective actions and we are committed to implementing them. that statement goes on to say. and we celebration of api heritage month here at kron. 4 good times and good company is the inspiration for an oakland-based asian-inspired craft brewery called oak a

also contended with a rise in hate crimes. that was pretty challenging, especially. i mean. >> you know, i grew here so i was more exposed to. you know, sort of racism runs my wife. she immigrated to the states about 5 years ago. so it was very new to her to really face that as an adult. another obstacle has been competing in a predominantly white 2021 survey done by the brewers association shows asian representation is near the bottom with just 2% of craft breweries being asian owned for doe-kai-beer. the idea of diversifying the craft beer world. >> is intoxicating. it doesn't have to be. >> you know, why do with beard? could be some jean guy like me, but still make something that's different and unique. >> experimenting with flavors like kimchi sour. rice kolsch and use a blonde lee is changing the game. >> there's no such thing as like asian is for craft beer. that's like it's kind of

hybrid of asian culture with traditional about craft beer and we're kind of unique on us. you know, the controversial one is our country's sour. it's obviously a lot of people get scared of the concept or the name of it. and it what is that? can i just just don't give me a lot. just came in just a little to taste it. >> so that is what i did. so a lot of people are actually scared to try not scary and not the sound of progress from driving hundreds of miles a day to deliver beers door to door, to taking over federation brewing in jack london square. lee's 3 year-old upstart is booming and the first, but hopefully not the last korean owned brewery in oakland. >> we want to bring diversity to the craft beer industry. we want to bring innovation, young ones doing that. with these really amazing beers that are taking, you know, classic styles and and putting a fun new twist on them, which is and they taste. i'm great

>> welcome back. 7.25. this sunday morning. taking a live look now at the golden gate bridge this morning. where looks like a lot of people are actually choosing to sleep in at this hour. not too much traffic on the roadways. it's looking a little gloomy out there, too. the bridge parking lots will be closed from 11:00am to 05:00pm on weekends and holidays. a reminder there. the change runs until october 8th to help reduce traffic congestion in the area. personal vehicles will not be allowed to park at the wellcome cent or southeast lot or the caltrans vista point northeast lot. but tour buses, taxis and rideshare cars are allowed to keep that in mind.

carquinez strait a little bit later on this afternoon, getting into the 20's and maybe even popping near 30 temperatures thus far where the mid-fifties over most of the geography, 60 for antioch. 55 up there to santa rosa at the it's going to be chilly. more like a football game today. 107, game time 60 for your high. so to speak and cloudy and chilly with a west southwest wind at about 10 next next couple of hours. we're at 59 11 by 2. were 62 in a bit. we'll take a look at the 4 zone forecast. don't expect too much for it, but the extended. we'll show you what it looks like for monday and into next week. stephanie. all right, dave, thank you for that update. >> a new report out of sonoma county says homelessness numbers are down. 22% there kron four's grant gayle ong has more on what might be driving that drop. >> sonoma county's latest point in time. count of people experiencing homelessness has dropped 22% this year. >> we go out in the in the wee hours of the morning before the sun comes up. about 150 people participated. this

count, some of them are are homeless individuals themselves that to, you know, know where people might be found that share of sonoma county supervisors, chris coursey credits collaborating with other jurisdictions of the county. we also have a an influx of available housing vouchers that came to us during the pandemic. >> that helped us subsidize rental housing for a few 100 people. according to the county. this year's countdown, 2,266 individuals experiencing homelessness. >> compared to 2,893 in 2022. any fall. and as founder of homeless action, sonoma, a nonprofit aim to end homelessness in the city of sonoma says the county's latest report is under counted. most people don't want to be found in a lot of them don't they're not going to be revised or course he understands the skepticism. people don't necessarily see that change because they're

homeless people on our streets. >> you know, we these numbers are big it's a big drop. there are still big numbers out on our streets where the 2000 and mckinsey and company study reports on any given night. >> 38,000 individuals in the bay area are homeless and increase of 35% since 2019 back in february. sonoma county's board of supervisors declared a shelter crisis in the county that allowed them to clear an encampment of the job or do to trail in santa rosa and move to some of the people living on the trail on county property. but those people were not included in this year's count this month, sonoma county approved 7.14 million dollars in grants for community development projects. the funding will help. the land is nonprofit now including navigation cener, something she says is necessary to address homelessness for a client. it's really difficult if they don't have a phone if they don't have the computer, if they can make an appointment made a lot of homeless people have anger issues because they get so frustrated with their

lies and in and >> they see no way out. and one of the things that happens often and i do really totally understand. it is a break. their own car when she breaks down this typical scenario. happy to help you, but whether to go behavior, health of the next office and behavioral sitting down. so, you know, why did you break the window? and that that was so well, you know, i have been able to see my children because i have these legal issues so they go away to go over and see attorneys on so with legal aid. >> later this summer, the county plans to release the second part of the report which will have numbers broken down by demographic areas. people are seeking shelter and where they lived before they became homeless. gayle ong kron. 4 news. >> police arrested a suspect in the east bay accused of following someone store to store before breaking into their car in stockton as reporter karma dickerson

learned some of the stolen items were being sold in richmond. >> we've all heard it before. be careful not to leave valuables in your car. she put the laptop on the we're bored in the back seat because the would-be thief might get lucky. it was out of public view and she walked her vehicle. but in this case, according to investigators, very creepy luck had nothing to do with it. she had been stock after making the purchase of up a black lexus suv pulls into the lincoln center parking lot in stockton, april, 1st surveillance video shows a gray sedan pull up alongside it shortly. afterwards, the driver peaks in the car. >> leaves and comes back in less than 15 seconds. he breaks the rear window climbs in, grabbed the laptop and drives off when the victim returned and saw no other cars have been broken into. she suspected with san joaquin sheriff's investigators say they later confirmed the video shows the person in the end, the vehicle that was responsible and >> followed the victim out of the best buy and followed her

in the number 2 lane of travel all the way to the lincoln center's detective steven jacobson says they were able to identify the suspect. a man from richmond name deshaun allen arrest him and search his phone. he had photographed are stolen laptop, including its serial number. and this is the part that sheds light on what many theft victims are left, wondering what happens to my stolen items and he had senate too his fence, that fence reseller of stolen items says jacobson was hernandez ochoa, owner of or max shop in richmond. we were able to go into the negotiations and see the negotiations based on telephone communications between the 2 are victim paid $1419 for the laptop at a best buy. okay. so our feet. >> then stole the to the fence skokie, illinois, for $1100.

but that was just the beginning inside the richmond pawnshop. jacobson says they found hundreds of items including laptops, cameras, watch it. we found a laptop computer that may belong to her. detectives have been calling all over the country, trying to connect the suspected stolen items with the rightful during we have not been able to find one legitimate item that has been pond at this point. allen ochoa are the only ones who have been charged with stealing and selling these items that the investigation is not over. we think that was the one guy out lake county is responsible for those hundreds apps not. >> and that was karma dickerson reporting for us this morning. police arrested a suspect in connection to 2 flower shop break-ins in san mateo around 03:00am saturday. investigators say the burglar alarm went off at all. sam floral company on el camino police say a man shot out the front glass door of the business with a bb gun and left 2 cash registers on the sidewalk. this happening not far from the san mateo florist

and gift store where someone shattered a glass door and stole a cash register thursday night. the suspect in custody is accused of 2 counts of burglary. this week, nevada lawmakers introduced a bill proposing 380 million dollars in public funding to build the a's proposed ballpark in las vegas. the nevada state senate session ends june 5th. so there should be more news by then. unless lawmakers decide to call a special session, the park would cost an estimated 1.5 billion dollars. coming up on the kron 4 morning news. the san francisco giants on a roll in milwaukee. details coming up. >> and lawmakers gather for the state democratic convention and top of mind. >> election 2020 for all the highlights from that group highlights from that group event. coming up.

>> police are investigating after a santa rosa family says a man threatened them with a knife on a hiking trail. this happened at the job do to trail between santa rosa in sebastopol. the suspect areas. clark is accused of assault with a deadly weapon. police say he was lying under a blanket in the middle of the trail and lunged at the family when their dog started to bark and follow them threatening to stab them. clark was later found near a costco on santa rosa avenue and arrested. this past winter produced record snowfall in california. but a study from the scripps institution of oceanography suggest the state should expect less snow in the years to come. researchers say that's because temperatures continue to rise across the

weapon at the ground at santa rosa memorial park cemetery. police arrested him. he is accused of assault with a deadly weapon and having other weapons in his possession, including brass knuckles, a dagger and a collapsible baton. the fbi is now joining the investigation into a toxic dust release at her martinez refinery. this comes 6 months after that refinery sent 24 tons of toxic dust containing heavy metals over the city of martinez and surrounding communities at the i team's have been canvassing neighborhoods this week visiting homes and speaking with residents, a report by the contra costa county health department is expected june 6, which we'll focus on soil collection data from 14 sites. in a statement, martinez refinery says, quote, we are aware of the department of justice's investigation and as a matter of policy, do not comment on pending legal matters. we are cooperating with all agencies, including with respect to any ongoing investigations related to this

what the sun is in the same type of situations. same daylight hours, all that stuff as it will be in late july. so it's a kind of all shocks of the systems we've got going on. we have an improving forecast for memorial day proper says today have to deal with all this cloud cover. >> even some patches of some rain trying to appear on radar, although we've checked some of the ground returns and we're not getting much at all. so just keep drizzles. a mention in the early morning, part of the forecast and then improving that part later this afternoon. but still overcast. here's what it looks like. east bay shoreline start to lift up some of that ground fog swing, at least see the terrain below what remaining cloudy as you can see and at the ballpark will call cloudy with temperatures at about 60 were supposed to get our high anyway, cloudy and chilly with a west southwest wind at about 10. there are your winds, pretty much teens and single digits going on. expect them to bump up to about the 20 mile per hour range and some of those war when sensitive areas most reading currently are in the mid-fifties. we see 61 going on for antioch under 58 for san jose and for the day ahead, more 60's to be

found with exception of chile 50's at the coast. everybody else should probably experience the 60's. tomorrow will be a market difference, though. now we will see that sunshine in the afternoon. and even the late morning we'll see temperatures pop a good locations for the 70's going on. we'll have more on that forecast coming up in a bit, stephanie. all right, dave, thank you so much for that. >> a new report out of sonoma county says homelessness numbers are down. 22% there well for is gayle ong has more on what might be driving that drop. >> sonoma county's latest point in time. count of people experiencing homelessness has dropped 22% this year. >> we go out in the in the wee hours of the morning before the sun comes up. about 150 people participated in this count, some of them are are homeless individuals themselves that to, you know, know where people might be found that share of sonoma county supervisors, chris coursey credits collaborating with other jurisdictions of the county. we also have a

influx of available housing vouchers that came to us during the pandemic. >> that helped us subsidize rental housing for a few 100 people. according to the county. this year's countdown, 2,266 individuals experiencing homelessness. >> compared to 2,893 in 2022. any fall. and as founder of homeless action, sonoma, a nonprofit aim to end homelessness in the city of sonoma says the county's latest report is under counted. most people don't want to be found in a lot of them don't they're not going to be revised or course he understands the skepticism. people don't necessarily see the change because their store homeless people on our streets. >> you know, we these numbers are big it's a big drop. there are still big numbers out on our streets where the mckinsey and company study reports on any given night. >> 38,000 individuals in the bay area are homeless and

increase of 35% since 2019 back in february. sonoma county's board of supervisors declared shelter crisis in the county that allowed them to clear an encampment of the job or do to trail in santa rosa and move to some of the people living on the trail on county property. but those people were not included in this year's count this month, sonoma county approved 7.14 million dollars in grants for community development projects. the funding will help. the land is nonprofit now including navigation cener, something she says is necessary to address homelessness for a client. it's really difficult if they don't have a phone if they don't have the computer, if they can make an appointment made a lot of homeless people have anger issues because they get so frustrated with their lies and in and >> they see no way out. and one of the things that happens often and i do really totally understand. it is a break. their own car when she breaks down this typical scenario. luke, happy to help you. but whether to go behavior, health

very creepy luck had nothing to do with it. she had been stock after making the purchase of up a black lexus suv pulls into the lincoln center parking lot in stockton, april, 1st surveillance video shows a gray sedan pull up alongside it shortly. afterwards, the driver peaks in the car. >> leaves and comes back in less than 15 seconds. he breaks the rear window climbs in, grabbed the laptop and drives off when the victim returned and saw no other cars have been broken into. she suspected with san joaquin sheriff's investigators say they later confirmed the video shows the person in the end, the vehicle that was responsible and >> followed the victim out of the best buy and followed her in the number 2 lane of travel all the way to the lincoln center's detective steven jacobson says they were able to identify the suspect. a man from richmond name deshaun allen arrest him and search his phone. he had photographed are stolen laptop, including its serial number. and this is the part that sheds light on what many theft victims are

left, wondering what happens to my stolen items and he had senate too his fence, that fence reseller of stolen items says jacobson was hernandez npochoa, owner of or max shop i richmond. we were able to go into the negotiations and see the negotiations based on the telephone. communications between the 2 are victim paid $1419 for the laptop out a best buy. okay. so our feet. >> then stole the to the fence or the pond. shop owner for $600 and then the shop owner was able to sell it on e-bay to some unsuspecting people in skokie, illinois, for $1100. but that was just the beginning inside the richmond pawnshop. jacobson says they found hundreds of items including laptops, cameras, watch it. he found a laptop computer that may belong to her. detectives have been calling all over the country, trying to connect the suspected stolen items with the rightful owners. yeah, that's my sister's we have not

been able to find one legitimate item that has been pond at this point. allen ochoa are the only ones who have been charged with stealing and selling these items that the investigation is not over. we think that was the one guy out lake county is responsible for those hundreds apps >> that was karma dickerson reporting for us this morning. and police arrested a suspect in connection to 2 flower shop break-ins in san mateo around 03:00am saturday. investigators say the burglar alarm went off at awesome floral company on el camino. police say a man shot out the front glass door of the business with a bb gun and left 2 cash registers on the sidewalk. this happening not far from the san mateo florist and gift store where someone shattered a glass door and stole a cash register thursday night. the suspect in custody is accused of 2 counts of burglary. this with nevada lawmakers introduced a bill proposing 380 million dollars in public funding to build the a's proposed ballpark in las vegas. the nevada state senate

4 in pittsburgh after a fatal crash last night. it happened near bailey road around 11:14pm. preliminary reports to chp show a crash happened between a motorcycle and a white sedan. the chp is now investigating. and police arrested 2 women accused of stealing $50,000 worth of merchandise in santa rosa. the theft happened at the sunglasses hut at santa rosa plaza. investigators say the entire operation involved 6 women and a man. and this is a look at some of the merchandise now recovered by santa rosa police. take a good look at your screen. there are lots of merchandise taken. officers arrested ariana tory and destiny news be 2 suspects from san francisco. the pair face several charges including robbery, organized retail theft and conspiracy. the remaining suspects are still on the loose. i points.

>> we go out in the in the wee hours of the morning before the sun comes up. about 150 people participated in this count, some of them are are homeless individuals themselves that to, you know, know where people might be found that share of sonoma county supervisors, chris coursey credits collaborating with other jurisdictions of the county. we also have a influx of available housing vouchers that came to us during the pandemic. >> that helped us subsidize rental housing for a few 100 people. according to the county. this year's countdown, 2,266 individuals experiencing homelessness. >> compared to 2,893 in 2022. any fall. and as founder of homeless action, sonoma, a nonprofit aim to end homelessness in the city of sonoma says the county's latest report is under counted. most people don't

know but i think one of the fun things we do and a lot of us do is we go outside and we grill. yes. so today i'm in a share with you. some fun recipes for skewers and they're going to be something you can grill at your house take to a party, maybe even a picnic. and we're going to leave those paper plates and those packets of utensils. we're going to leave them behind we're just going to use our skewers. so, hey, let's get started. our first recipe m in a share with you is one of my favorite. it is a chicken satay skewers. all right. and i actually marinated these the night before and i own really delicious marinade. soy sauce, sir okay, garlic and ginger and all im going to do is put them on the skewers and i'm gonna put them right on my grill. and it sounds simple enough. just 3 ingredients for that, mary. oh, yeah, it's very simple. and a lot of times you will have those already in your pantry most importantly, i want to remind everybody unless you're

planning on having the fire department as guests at your you definitely want to soak the skewers for about 15 minutes. for more. you put them on the grill and other any just safety tips that people should keep in mind when they're handling raw chicken to absolutely wash your hands before and after. and if you want to use gloves, you can always use gloves and then when they're done, whatever plate you brought them out on the crowd. yeah. you need to have a clean plate to take them in so you don't cross contaminate. yeah, that's really important. so while these are grilling and honestly, the only take about 4, 5, minutes per side, have you and i are going to make a really luxurious and delicious. >> peanut sauce. so i already have my peanut sauce in here and to this. i'm going to add some honey, because it's going to have a little bit of sweetness to it. i'm also going to add a little bit of garlic powder and ginger powder. now you can use the fresh if you want. i want my

sauce really smooth. and if you could add the soy sauce into it yet with rate, we're going to see all that correct. it at that all in. and i'm going to also add in a little bit of chicken stock to go in with us and about how much would you say that swiss u.s. sized police us that we that was there the re tablespoons tablespoon and then about a cop of the chicken stock. and that's the chair. so i'm going to let you put in as much as you think you want with you little bit early in the morning. but you know, why let's just get it all in their perfect. thank you. >> and we're it so much flavor and we're going to stir whisk it. so it's nice and smooth and we want it nice and thick and creamy. so what we're going to do is i'm going to pour this into a saute pan. okay. and i'm going to cook it ahead of time on the on the stove for just about maybe 4, 5, minutes. and you get this beautiful luxury. sure. thick sauce is green. me full of

flavor and i have already grilled my and i want to put to finish that set a i'm going to add a little bit of cilantro and a little bit of ground peanuts and then you can use this for dipping. and because i want to give my guest choices. yep. i've a hawaiian skier that they can have as well. love the way and what vegetables did you use with that? now? i have well, i love pineapple grill. so there's pineapple and i bell pepper and i use chicken. but of course, if you want to use some pork or maybe some beef. up to you anyway. you can do it. it will be delicious. lovely, ok, next. you and i are going make some skiers together. stop to it. we're going to make one of my favorites, which beautiful for its care because this is the time of year we're going to get some great but i'm going to add a couple of twists to it so the first thing we're going to start off with is a marshmallow. marshmallow goes first and i know you're thinking why more smoke on a

skewer foot's for fruit and the reason we're going to do it is because i'm going at the free to it. and if some of the 2 strips down, it's going marshmallow or and then you have a delicious sweet treat at the end. and so we're going to grab a pineapple pineapple and then we're going to put that on first hand us. and it's and of course, this is fun to do with kids. oh, yes, and they love it. and of course, depending on the time of year we're going to do a candle him a loping next. depending on the time of year with ever fresh fruit. you especially at your farmers and then how about some blueberries? let's add some blueberries that as they are delicious and they're adding a lot of beautiful color. and then of course, we're going to add some grapes because i love to see that green color and these grapes are fantastic. this time of year. and then here's the second little i love to add it just a really simple mentally i think meant

and fruit go so well together. yes, and it's all slike if kids like it. but you can always make that and then we're going and are skewing with this beautiful strawberry and strawberries are absolutely in-season yes, and look at how pretty that is. and like i said, you get that the list. that marshmallow at the end? because who doesn't like marshmallows? yes, i love you obviously you've had a lot of experience that things can drip at. but the march vote is a great job where i do think things not neat and tidy. and you're the expert. that it absolutely. i love it and it's delicious. and of course, if you want a quick little appetizer, i made a little cup skewer to win. just all. excuse me, just the tomatoes and basil and the mozzarella. and then, of course, and the vineyard mom. so we have a drink, of course. and what we have today, just a row say splits a spritz or excuse me.
