forecast going on here for you. getting a little hot for some of you folks in the far east bay as we touch 90 this afternoon, it's a one-day event. things will be changing will be talking about that as well. >> from mill year, a golden gate bridge shot. you can see the fog hanging around a little bit be patient. it will mix out nicely in the late morning hours. there's that onshore breeze in place. and if you squint a little bit to the lower left-hand side, you can see some bubbling up of moisture to our south. that's an important factor, too. that's what describes what goes on early into the week. a gentle onshore breeze that's going to intensify later today as we get that eating mid-fifties of the board right now. 61 one on for any act. 57 for san jose just for stats. a quirk couple degrees ahead of this time from yesterday. for the day ahead, we'll try 74 at 11 by 2 at 86. we're talking about summer time weather with summertime. we sometimes get that monsoon. we have a little flavor of that come tuesday in some cooler temperatures into next week. we'll get into all that coming up in a bit, stephanie. all right, dave, thank shooting outside a san

francisco nightclub left one person severely injured early saturday morning. >> kron four's amanda hari brings us reaction from the nightclub owner. >> i don't want any customers to come out and, you know, enjoy themselves in a night come out and then the shot next to a hot dog cart like that that is insane early saturday morning, a fight broke out in front of the grand nightclub on fort street near bryant street in san francisco. >> dolice say 23 year-old was shot and is suffering from a life-threatening injuries. 3 people were also pistol whipped. a club owner, lee nguyen was stunned by the news. very scary. >> you know, any time that there is a gun involved gun violence involved. >> but business, it's just very scary. police say they know at least 6 victims. nguyen says it all happened just before 02:00am as the bar was closing and people were going home. the incident that happened happened right next to dog carts, courage.

>> loitering. so, you know, at the end of the night when we're getting our patrons to leave or talk to their car or to get into the these hot dog vendors make it incredibly difficult and they encourage people to congregate, you know, order hot dogs and lawyer in front of the venue. and that's the issues. happened. you know, that's when dispute happened. that's when fights break out. that's, you know, and unfortunately, you know, we saw like the worst of what can happen. nguyen says she's taking precautions to keep both customers and staff safe. >> we are adams, additional security guards to all of our future events. these. >> that's the big parts are going to be tasked with. moving hot dog vendors out of the area to mitigate any lawyer outside of our venue. >> and that was kron four's amanda hari reporting for us. police arrested 2 people from south san francisco. investigators recovered a gun. anyone with more information

is asked to please contact sfpd another top story we're following this morning. more than a year after her disappearance, oakley woman, alexis gabe. finally be put to rest the gabe family sharing on social media this week. officials have wrapped up the autopsy and forensic tests. the public is invited to a memorial service in honor of alexis on june, 17th in concord. a funeral procession is planned for june 19th. the public is also welcome. only the gabe family will be allowed inside the crematorium for their last good-bye. alexis went missing last year on january. 26 after visiting her ex-boyfeiend, marshall curtis jones in antioch police later ty jones to her death. but was shot and killed by police jones. jones was that, that is alexis. his family believe jones helped cover up her death and hit her body. a surge in amador county found remains in november. and back in january. a car chase ends in a fiery crash early

saturday morning, sending 5 people to the hospital. the chase started around. 01:00am after an officer tried pulling over a car on low road in el cerro boulevard for running a red light. that's when police say the car drove off at a second line camino tessa harrow road and blackhawk road and hit another car. officers say the car then rolled over and caught fire. first responders reshued 5 people and rushed them to the hospital. the driver of the car suffered major injuries. we will. we will share any new developments on air and online as we learn more. new this morning, san jose firefighters responded to a fire at a commercial building. the blaze sparked around 11:00pm near the intersection of guadalupe parkway and west san carlos avenue. the incident forcing traffic delays in the area. that fire is now out. well, layoffs hitting a bay area company walt disney's pixar animation studios based in emeryville has eliminated. 75 positions, including 2 executives. this comes after

the movie. let your head a disappointing box office performance, the movie's director, producer and pixar as vp of worldwide publicity were part of the layoffs. the cuts were part of c we're part of ceo bob iger's plan to slash thousands of jobs to cut 5 and a half billion dollars in costs. in the bay area's newest professional sports team hosted their launch party in san francisco saturday. the bay fc is the first national women's soccer league club and to call the bay area home kron four's gayle ong. was there. >> soccer fans gathered at presidio main post won in san francisco saturday afternoon to celebrate the bay area's new national women's soccer league team. they football club. bay fc for short. i thing it's just great to see to a great turnout >> little boys and girls get tops for, you know, her from soccer games on the lawn to people lining up for t-shirts

>> traveling under what looks to be blue yet hazy skies. dave. >> yeah, that's what we're dealing with. and is going to be pretty much of a flavor of some time. it's summertime weather going on here. also at the coast trying to work on clearing now, you're not going to feel that, you know, kind of he jumped all going on here. we'll see some along the east bay shoreline. it's really an inland phenomena with those numbers going to start to become impressive. but at the coast, it's slow going for today at the way to later in the summer to get some real movement going on here. but they're going to be probably shy of 70, but warming up well inland, which will be talking about 65 antioch. lot of 50's in the east bay. 52 santa rosa, san francisco. 53 57. meanwhile, 4 san jose futurecast for over the next about 40 hours. there isn't a whole lot to see here, but let's try to break it down a little bit. first of all, that fog is taken care. we go mostly sunny. there's the flare up in the mountains very summer time like pattern that we're very accustomed to. here comes the fog again tomorrow. but we will have scattered clouds by monday at some

daytime heating struggle to get this clearing going on here. there's again. the return to thunder showers up in the mountains. and by tuesday morning, even predawn possibility of some showers. see the flow pattern coming in from the southeast. we might already start to see some thunder showers in the bay or at least parts of it as early as in the morning commute. this would be in a pocket in the say that the east bay and out of the south a little bit. once we have daytime heating, then another way to look out for by tuesday afternoon evening, putting it all together. we've got sunny and warm hot in the far east bay. that's where the night is going. hide out 80's for everybody else, including some areas along the east bay shoreline, too. for monday, tuesday, variable clouds monday, temperatures drop. that's the first of shocked. then tuesday, we have that little bout of some thunder showers possible in the morning hours. tuesday. it will really inland. and then tuesday afternoon want to get the daytime heating and so forth because this mid-level moisture. it's not at the surface where that very damp, heavy areas and then for the rest, the week scattered clouds will keep it mild with

a lot of mid 70's going on well inland. so for today, again, the blue skies deputy was talking about will be the driver 70 for downtown about there. and 72 for open. 82. meanwhile for san jose, here's the bigger board for you. look at that blood red on the far, far east we'll get more to this in the 4 zone forecast. plus, kind of partial out a little bit here for that little flavor of the monsoon coming our way to tuesday, stephanie. all right, dave, thank you for that update. >> a group of more than a dozen migrants arrived in sacramento on friday night. they entered the country through texas and were flown into california. now city officials and governor gavin newsom want to know who is behind this move a shot 6 planes. backpacks with everything they own is literally all that 16 migrants had when they were here on friday at the catholic diocese office. >> of sacramento, not even knowing where they were. >> authorities say individuals representing a private contractor at the migrants enter in el paso, texas told

60 migrants they would help them get to another migrants enter where they were promised jobs other free support. but once they arrived in sacramento, the diocese soon realize that these people were lied to an abandoned here. so they stepped in to help in a statement from bishop jaime soto, he says within each of the 16 migrants transported to sacramento on friday. >> we recognize the humble presence of jesus and we hear his call to stand by them. the urgency to respond was hurt by catholics and people of goodwill. we're thankful to our partner organizations who took up the holy work of hospitality dedicating their time and resources to ensure that every migrant did not feel alone and abandoned upon hearing of the situation. mayor darrell steinberg also responded saying in part human trafficking is not only despicable, it's a felony. i urgethe appropriate

authorities to investigate how 16 vulnerable people were lured to travel from el paso, texas, to sacramento. whoever is behind this must answer the following. is there anything more cruel than using scared human beings to score cheap political points? >> and mayor steinberg is urging authorities to investigate what lord those people to go from el paso, texas, to here in sacramento, reporting in sacramento covering local news that matters rowena shaddox. >> and governor newsom released this statement last night. it reads in part, we are working closely with the mayor's office along with local and nonprofit partners to ensure the people who have arrived are treated with respect and dignity and get to their intended destination as they pursue their immigration cases. the governor going on to say my administration is also working with the california department of justice to investigate the circumstances around who paid for the group's travel and whether the individual is orchestrating this trip misled

happening now, a man is recovering from life-threatening injuries after a stabbing in san jose. it happened near the intersection of sean drive-in cherry avenue around 3.45. this morning the victim was rushed to the hospital. and new details in the san mateo high on-campus stabbing that interrupted what was supposed to be the first day of summer school. police responded to the fight at the school around 09:00am. friday. boy suffered a concussion and a stab wound to students involved in that fight were taken to juvenile detention. a 3rd teen was also charged with assault with a deadly weapon during the investigation. police say a large group began to attack someone at the campus bus loop. officers say the group then took off and were picked up by a car nearby, tossing a gun out of the vehicle. police eventually stopped and detained at least 4 people. a san francisco grandmother is bringing attention to a serious public health issue after losing her grandson who took his own life. she spoke

with kron four's philippe >> 12 year-old jamal mackey junior killed himself in november 2021. a shot to his family who says there were no obvious signs he was considering death by suicide. i don't know what it was that something he did. leave a >> it was spontaneous thing you didn't even know. so we never know. but lynette mackey does believe social media played a role. >> her grandson played football for the san francisco brown bombers and enjoyed his friends seemed happy and yet he is no longer here last november. mackey founded the nonprofit mackey's corner focusing on suicide prevention and awareness on saturday at yulman park in san francisco. mackey held her second suicide prevention and awareness event connecting people with therapists and social workers. mayor london breed addressed the crowd. we need to not be afraid to admit. >> if we need therapy or if we

took the suspect and request us into custody around 07:00am saturday in san carlos. they say the suspect was sitting in a van with the engine ruing. police say quest is failed. a number of field sobriety tests in the van. deputies found at unloaded rife, a rifle, a loaded handgun and several high capacity magazines. the suspect was booked into the san mateo county jail. it is gun violence awareness weekend on saturday. alameda county da pamela price visited an exhibit in oakland called vision quilt featuring work by 8th grade students on ways to prevent gun violence. students from light house and most our middle schools participating. check out this video of the river in yosemite national park for memorial day weekend. >> as you can see, the record snowpack melt is well underway. rivers and creeks are swelling in the area raising flooding concerns that

crash on highway one, sending one car careening off the freeway and through a guard before slamming into a home. 2 people were rushed to the hospital. chp is investigating. on the peninsula. the san mateo county fire department responded to a rollover crash. this happened early saturday morning on highway one south of half moon bay cal fire says there were no injuries. no word yet on the cause. a very daring rescue for first responders after a car falls 100 feet into a ravine just look at the damage there. it happened friday on calaveras road just east of fremont. a chp helicopter responded. you can hear that chopper hovering over the ravine there and they found the car on its roof with the driver trapped inside. first responders got the driver out and hoisted them out of the ravine. the driver is now being treated at eden medical center in castro valley. no word yet on what

allowed inside the crematorium for their last good-bye. alexis went missing last year on january. 26 after visiting her ex-boyfriend, marshall jones in antioch. police later tied jones to gabe's death. but officers shot and killed jones. alexis, his family believe jones helped cover up her death and hid her body. a surge in amador county found remains in november. and in january. a car chase ended in a fiery crash early saturday morning, sending 5 people to the hospital that chase started around. 01:00am after an officer tried pulling over a car on diablo road and el cerro boulevard for running a red light. that's when police say the car drove off rent a second light at camino tessa harrow road and blackhawk road and then hit another car. officers say the car then rolled over and caught fire. first responders rescued 5 people and rush them to the hospital. the driver of the car suffered major injuries. >> we will share any new

least 4 people involved in this. a san francisco grandmother is bringing attention to a serious public health issue after losing her grandson who took his own life. she spoke with kron four's philippe djegal. >> 12 year-old jamal mackey junior killed himself in november 2021. a shot to his family who says there were no obvious signs he was considering death by suicide. i don't know what it was that something he did. leave a >> it was spontaneous thing you didn't even know. so we never know. but lynette mackey does believe social media played a role. >> her grandson played football for the san francisco brown bombers and enjoyed his pfriends seemed happy and yet he is no longer here last november. mackey founded the nonprofit mackey's corner focusing on suicide prevention and awareness on saturday at yulman park in san francisco. mackey held her second suicide prevention and awareness event connecting people with therapists and social workers.

>> it was a safe place. then it's a safe place. now is a safe place for me. the white bar on telegraph avenue in oakland, portage first rank in 1933. since then, it continued to be a safe haven for those in the lgbtq+ community. from what i've read also, it's never been rated. police raids targeted bars in the bay area starting in the 1950's in the early 60's. police shut down nearly half the bars. but the white stayed open. it would be another 30 years before new owner patty dingell would discover the lgbtq+ sanctuary ice to come here. >> in the nineties on thursday nights, this place has brought a lot of great memories for me. i have a lot of great memories when i first came out, this was the place where i felt super safe just acquired the barn december. she always knew she wanted to own a bar. >> when she retired, she decided to find the perfect one. when white horse became available, she jumped on the

next to a hot cart like that that is insane early saturday morning, a fight broke out in front of the grand nightclub on fort street near bryant street in san francisco. >> police say 23 year-old was shot and is suffering from a life-threatening injuries. 3 people were also pistol whipped. a club owner lee nguyen was stunned by the news. very scary. >> you know, any time that there is a gun involved or gun violence involved. >> but business, it's just very scary. police say they know at least 6 victims. nguyen says it all happened just before 02:00am as the bar was closing and people were going home. the incident that happened happened right next to dog carts, courage. >> loitering. so, you know, at the end of the night when we're getting our patrons to leave or talk to their car or to get into the these hot dog vendors make it incredibly difficult and they encourage people to congregate, you know, order hot dogs and

balance test is indicator for me when i test a new patient for their mobility disability and their frailty. so what you're going to do, let's say you're going to stand on your left foot. >> and you could do this at home. but anyone testing their i make a man standing in a corner and with a chair back of a chair. okay them so that they're protected on all site. so what you're also going to do is cross your arms across your chest, arms ration or leg so that it's about pair. their thigh is about parallel to the floor. k. i'm doing it. good. for at least 10 seconds so >> still the goal is to get to at least 20 seconds. they found that those people that can't hold it for at least 20 that they they show some diminishing brain so it's it's a really good indicator. >> doesn't necessarily mean that their brain health

diminishing. it could be due to other factors to okay. but they did find, you know, correlations with ischemic, strokes. michael bleeds in the brain and also lower scores on cognitive tests. so really interesting. so if you don't have good balance he can balance it for at least 20 seconds tonight, only at risk for falling. but there could be something else going on that you want to check very important that people do test themselves at home as i want to switch the other like now because, yes, we've been doing that for that. but right for 30 seconds, at least. and you've been standing on that bosa has all time, which is very impressive to so. so here's the thing weekend. our balance it. we get. >> our balance from 3 sensory systems. one is our visual system gets. so what i'm going to have you do now the same position. but i want you to oh, dear, they're going to take away one of those system know my still balancing on

>> all right. good morning. welcome back to the kron. 4 morning news. i'm stephanie lin. start off this half hour with a look at our forecast. dave spahr in the weather center tracking it all for us today. a good morning, stephanie. good morning, everybody. and again, we're starting off a little bit of a scattered fog still holding together on the golden gate bridge. but beyond that, most of the bay area's really start open up nicely. >> we'll see temperatures pop a little bit in the far east bay contra costa counties where you'll see that happen a lot. their quirkiness straight there. it is the east bay shoreline looking pretty nice and we probably won't be seeing a lot of mornings like this, at least in the early part of the week as we have some traffic in the middle layers of the atmosphere. yes, the kind of reminiscent of the monsoon coming our way. 76 antioch, we've got 64 livermore. 68 for concord, about 60 for the east bay shoreline. but the peninsula's hanging on to some 50's. now. 54 for half moon bay for the ballpark later today. game

out of the vehicle. police eventually stopped and detained at least 4 people. a san francisco grandmother is bringing attention to a serious public health issue after losing her grandson who took his own life. she spoke with kron four's philippe djegal. >> 12 year-old jamal mackey junior killed himself in november 2021. a shot to his family who says there were no obvious signs he was considering death by suicide. i don't know what it was that something he did. leave a >> it was spontaneous thing you didn't even know. so we never know. but lynette mackey does believe social media played a role. >> her grandson played football for the san francisco brown bombers and enjoyed his friends seemed happy and yet he is no longer here last november. mackey founded the nonprofit mackey's corner focusing on suicide prevention and awareness on saturday at yulman park in san francisco. mackey held her second suicide prevention and awareness event

jamal was lost. someone died by suicide. every 11 minutes away in san francisco. philippe djegal all kron. 4 news. >> police arrested a santa fe man in san mateo county on dui and weapons offenses. officers took the suspect and request into custody around 07:00am saturday in san carlos. they say the suspect was sitting in a van with the engine running. police say quest is failed. a number of field sobriety tests in the van. deputies found an unloaded rifle and loaded handgun and several high capacity magazines. the suspect was booked into the santa san mateo county jail. it is gun violence awareness weekend on saturday. alameda county da pamela price visited an exhibit in oakland called vision quilt featuring work by 8th grade students on ways to prevent gun violence. students from light house and lodestar middle school. participated. a group of more than a dozen migrants arrived in sacramento on friday night. they entered

the country through texas and were flown into california. now city officials and governor newsom want to know who's behind this move. rowena shaddox explains. >> backpacks with everything they own is literally all that 16 migrants had when they were here on friday at the catholic diocese office of sacramento, not even knowing where they were. >> authorities say individuals representing a private contractor at the migrants enter in el paso, texas told 16 my current they would help them get to another migrants enter where they were promised jobs and other free support. but once they arrived in sacramento, the diocese soon realize that these people were lied to an abandoned here. so they stepped in to help in a statement from bishop jaime soto, he says within each of the 16 migrants transported to sacramento on friday. >> we recognize the humble presence of jesus and we hear his call to stand by them. the

it's looking like a pleasant day to fly. david, how are things looking over at the weather sen? >> stephanie, we have kind of an interesting little pattern going on here. good morning, everybody. we're starting with today. looks great. kind of little somer. feel for ya. and with that tahoe's following suit with that typical afternoon evening thundershower program, temperatures fall a little bit into this week, but they're still a lofty, though, 72 for tomorrow. but you can see the drop to about 64. that cooling impact will be felt here on the home front as well. and this instability is also worth of note, looks a little bit more moist as we get to about wednesday on that count. but call today tomorrow and into tuesday. the sunshine early and then come the thunder shower action. there you can see it on future cast for we clear out. and then later on sees the firing up of those thunder showers with the daytime heating. as you can see, we repeat that just about all week long. there you see that right there. that's for tuesday morning. so its potential we might have even monday, maybe a sprinkle, but it's tuesday. we really want to watch because it's the instability that may drive

hail that may drive again the thunder showers. and when you got the lightning going on, things could happen. power outages. and sometimes they can spark off fires as we well know. so that's why we want watch that there. and it is that pattern of this mid-level moisture being brought up from the south that is driving. it's not the moisture at the ground, which the surface where that cooler ocean areas that marine layer we see every morning that's hanging of the golden gate right now. there you have it in tuesday morning. popping up a little bit of note. but once we get that daytime heating tuesday afternoon, still possible until this all kind of drops to our south. so we'll keep kind of some scattered clouds in that forecast maybe wednesday, but should start to really dry out from our perspective, by midweek, not the same for tahoe. it looks like each day will be revisiting this as we speak right now. there's no flash flood watch has been posted up there. there are some local problems, however, because of the melting of this bonanza of snow. 70 going on for san francisco. we've got those 60's and 50's mixture of the coast. so it's all slow on the

to part of something that i love, but also to >> promote the the community and and when blake came to me and said, how can you help? and when you have all this experience play the florida's yes, of course, i jumped right on it. whatever you need and the to help with the camaraderie unite you developed friendship and and it's just the community is amazing. and proud of >> and tell us to about stonewall sports. a bit of this is a nationwide nonprofit. how long has it been around for and how can people get involved with this? >> stonewall sports started in washington, d.c., in 2009 and eventually opened up chapters around the east coast and started to spread across the where the first chapter on the west coast people can get involved with organization either by signing up to play

or joining our leadership board and you know, donating to the nonprofit organization that that were part of, well, end. >> we understand you're kicking off your kick ball season officially this month. the you're kind of teasing that a little in your earlier answer. it's all us a bit about in people have to try out for that. >> kick ball and no, it's that kind of all right. i would it's supposed to be very if you want to play, you can we get everybody on to one of the we have a number of captains who are leading the charge get their teams organized. you know, people register, they tell us, you know, a little bit about themselves, them up. and as we go forward over the next few weeks, we're going to doing our opening party. how am hey a training session affectionately called beauty halo. that foodie camp. okay.
