stephanie lin. it's saturday, july, the 15th, we're covering a lot for you today. >> start off with our team coverage, though, with tiffany justice live out in sonoma as runners brace for the hot temperatures out there. but first, let's get things started to with dave spahr. he's tracking the timing of when we can expect things to really heat up today. >> all right. good morning, stephanie. good morning, everybody. and a pleasant start as we get a hot weekend kicked off. it looks like all the way across the bay monitoring a couple of things going on here in basically safe to say it's looking a little bit better as we go forward in terms of the intense heat. this is for tomorrow really referring to. but for today, make no mistake about it, going to be plenty hot and there's the marine layer checking in golden gate all covered up at all that business. looks like we might see some are performance tomorrow. good news with all of this. now for today, though, going to be plenty, plenty hot. let's take a look at the current numbers right now. you've got those mid 60's going on. well, in the east bay, almost venture to say in some cases, this may be the coolest numbers you're going to see until maybe monday

morning 50's. meanwhile, up to the north bay, there's the upper 50's lining up the east bay shoreline for comparison say 24 hours ago. not that much different are pretty close. couple spots there. a little warmer. this will be more interesting, though, for tomorrow morning. now the fog and the marine layer coming back tonight tomorrow. here's that fog covers up san francisco, the east bay shoreline. that's basically a nice cool blanket. what you cool off tonight, a little bit before warming up again on sunday winds, not very active. there you see a nice little climate control and we're not going to get much help both today. tomorrow. part of the reason why some of these numbers, both for the day and night will be pretty intense. but we're looking for some relief overnight with that marine layer. so again, to reiterate the point, we have an excessive heat warning a coverage just about everywhere, except along the east bay shoreline. good chunk of the peninsula, coastal areas in san francisco. not in that that again until 11:00pm. tomorrow. your breakdown gets us about 98 or so by 2 o'clock up, a tipping well, beyond 100

have people like heart, right? that will be out here on the street, passing out water whatever you need to stay cool because it is going to be very hot this weekend here in san jose reporting here in san jose, justin campbell kron. 4 news. >> governor newsom along with state emergency officials are urging people to take this weekend's triple digit temperatures seriously. >> very mindful and sober healt people and these extreme heat events and these triple digit mean this one of 7, 1, 0, 8, or 9.10. this is becoming all too familiar in the state of california. i think many people don't understand the severity this extreme hot weather can bring. >> to your people safety. so just practicing those precautions such wearing life vests when you're near water. i'm wearing sunscreen. staying hydrated. keeping your eyes on a neighbors may elderly neighbors that may not have resources. and there's so many different scenarios that can make people vulnerable. so

keeping a man out for yourself, but also the people around you. >> last year, a heat wave brought the state dangerously close to widespread outages. so far this year, the governor says the power grid is holding up well with the increased demand. it. the extreme heat can be especially tough on outdoor workers like road crews and those in construction. the state is deploying monitors to make sure employers are following safety regulations that includes making sure workers have lots of water shade and rest periods. >> we had 2 deaths last year worker fatalities where by the time the employer took that. workers in the hospital, their body temperature was 108 degrees. you've got to adjust make sure you take breaks and get enough water and say i it. >> the state any businesses violating safety rules will face a fine last year. the state issued about 1.4 million dollars in citations to employers. if you're planning

to take part this weekend, expect delays. trains typically run about 10 minutes behind when the heat nears triple digits. the slowdowns are to avoid something like this from happening again. this video on your screen is from last june when overheating affected the rails and caused a train to go off the tracks in concord. and a reminder the bay area is under a spare. the air alert. the hot temperatures with the combination of car exhaust creates more smog and pollution, kids, seniors and people with respiratory and heart problems are especially vulnerable. experts recommend people avoid outdoor exercise except in the early morning hours. and make sure you stay with kron 4 as we continue our coverage of the scorching heat, you can scan the qr code on your screen. it will take you directly to updated forecast along with some advice from safety. experts. and now to developing news. police are investigating 2 separate bay area freeway shootings, including one that injured and 8 year-old boy,

that child was shot on eastbound 5.80, in oakland last night. this is near the grand and harrison street exits by lake merritt. police say people po police say people into car started shooting at each other. the boy was caught in the crossfire. police have not released suspect descriptions yet. >> he was transported by his mother to highland hospital. and later. travel to and was transported to oakland children's hospital. the 2 suspect vehicles involved and this are described as a dark gray suv and a room colored suv. >> no word yet on the child's condition this morning, we have reached out to chp for more information and we'll keep you updated throughout the day. a separate freeway shooting happened friday afternoon on to 80 in san francisco. it happened near the elam boulevard exit and highway 101, one woman was hit in the leg and taken to the

hospital. she is expected to be okay. this is video of the car. the woman was driving. police do not have a description of the shooter or the car. they were in chp says this is being investigated as a road rage incident. and in the east bay, a shooting in brentwood left 2 men injured. it happened around 7.45 last night on margarine drive near caboose park. police say the men were involved in an altercation before they started shooting at each other. both were taken to the hospital. police say one man suffered serious injuries. lanes of highway 87 are closed this morning after a fatal crash. this is video of the scene as happened at the highway. 87 and i-280 interchange around 4.50. we have reached out to chp and will update you with more information as it comes into our newsroom. and oakland's pandemic-related eviction moratorium has expired. that means starting today. tenants

can be evicted for not paying rent. the move is a welcome sign for many mom and pop rental landlords unable to generate rental income during the pandemic. but meantime, tenant advocates warn of an upcoming surge in evictions. the city of oakland has set aside 1 million dollars to fund legal support for any tenants facing eviction. >> the tenants are responsible for paying rent during the of the eviction. what unless they can prove. that's that the cause of not paying rent was due to financial hardship due to covid-19. >> we have a list of renters assistance. resources now on our website kron 4 dot com. happening tonight. you have a chance to win 175 million dollars. and the powerball drawing. that's the 3rd biggest jackpot in powerball history. if you win, the cash option is worth 452 million. the odds of winning the

>> all right. welcome back. taking a live look now at walnut creek this morning. not too many cars on the roadways at 7.13 this saturday. and of course, you know, looking pretty nice. if you want to head hit the roadways at this hour. but things are really expected to heat up. but as we get further into the day, dave. >> stephanie, yes, it was a another heat. spike is in the midst for this weekend. it is though interesting. we have a little wrinkle developing for tomorrow here walking through that here. it does mean some cooler temperatures. yes, but the way this place is this type of change is something we always try to watch out for particularly late in the

summer for some time. some thunder showers with that walk through that in just a bit. right now, here's a shot of the east bay shoreline. good stuff. this is the fog. it looks like it will be here again tomorrow morning, although maybe not as long as today. but again, that gives those cooling across at least the bay right there at the surface near the ocean. again, higher elevations and well inland. you folks may not get that consolation tomorrow morning. those 70 for antioch at this hour, kind of sign of some things to come for those morning hours. 60's cover you for concord and livermore in that may be your coolest temperatures will see till monday morning 50's up to the north bay here. 54 san francisco 60. meanwhile for san jose storm tracker 4, not much to see here, but what i do want to point out, as you can just make out the high pressure cell, you see the circulation zone. well, that high is not stagnant. it's overhead now, but it's going to slide to the 4 corner states as it does that. so does the flow pattern move? yes, well, coming in some cloud cover for us. but sometimes that opens up the monsoon door. it does not look

like those elements are coming together with the flow pattern is one that does that for us. all right. let's head of the future cast for fog. goodbye as we get to the afternoon. that's our cooling blanket. have no fear. it comes back again tonight. tomorrow morning. we do the same thing again, west of the east bay hills, of right around the bay will get that fog. good news. then that clears out here comes another warming phase. some scattered clouds start working here aloft by 2 o'clock in the afternoon. so that will shave those high temperatures from earlier projections a little bit. the caution sign is that some mid-level moisture and going across the hot ground sometimes that can bubble up to sometimes create those monsoon thunder showers. we don't see it though, in the models this go-around. that's good news. now the over the next 48 hours. not a lot. in terms of winds. we get a little breeze cooking here because you have a huge thermal gradient for those inland spots that are warming up to near one 10 and then up the coast. in some cases you may be in the 60's. so that will drive the typical onshore wind little pop. if you saw that sunday afternoon evening

again, that's in tandem with the high shifting on towards are southeast welcoming in the onshore flow. and the cloud cover aloft. but those cooler surface winds as well. so early bay fog going on for today right now, hot inland near one 10 for contra costa county solano counties. tomorrow brief bay fog. again, that mixes out then mid-level afternoon clouds near 105, well inland 80's covered the bay and a little relief coming by the middle of the week. we might have 80's by midweek in some spots that are looking 100 plus today. now for the immediate bay. 75 san francisco, early clouds and warm, 80 will cover oakland. a lot of east bay shoreline will be much warmer that even getting around 90 and 92. meanwhile, for san jose coming up in the courts will have the 4 zone forecast for you and take a look at that extended to stephanie. all right, dave, thank you for that update. >> a driver is in the hospital after a car went off a cliff and into the ocean friday. you can see the rescue happening on your screen. there. this happened on highway one in santa cruz county between

scott creek beach and greyhound rock. firefighters set up a rope rescue and pulled the driver to safety. that person is hospitalized in critical condition. and changes are coming to lake tahoe beaches after party goers litter the area with thousands of pounds of trash over the 4th of july holiday. the league to save lake tahoe is working with the forest service to prevent any future messes. they say more trash cans, dumpsters, restrooms and staffing will be added. they will also be stricter rules enforcement volunteers picked up more than 63,000 pounds of garbage from zephyr cove. the day after july 4th. and now to our ongoing coverage on the fentanyl crisis here in the bay area. kron four's haaziq madyun breaks down the latest overdose numbers in the city of san francisco. >> the alarming number continues to grow for fentanyl overdose deaths this year in the city of san francisco. >> this year. to date in san

francisco, almost 80% of our preliminary overdose deaths are due to fentanyl last month in our city. 53 people died of overdose. that is deep while that is a decrease from may. we're 78 people lost their lives due to overdose. this is nonetheless higher than we saw last year. francisco department of public health officials describe why fentanyl is in a class by itself when it comes to addictive drugs know. >> is a game changer. it is more deadly. more addictive and harder to recover from and other drugs that we've so within the past due to its potency, a very, very small amounts fentanyl can kill someone. doctor hilary coded outlines key steps dph is taking to reduce the risk of overdose deaths. >> we have trained as well as our partners. thousands of

people on how to recognize and overdose and use the locks on to save a life. we're also working to expand training and overdose recognition and response. and we're also planning to fund organizations to provide overdose prevention and outreach focus on black and other highly impacted communities in san francisco, drug prevention and treatment services may be offered to people. but the question is a second. people are not. >> accepting voluntary services for drug treatment. that is where san francisco law enforcement now comes in as a compulsion. every measure, the possibility of being arrested for using drugs in public spaces says sf district attorney brooke jenkins. most of the people that i encounter who are in recovery now say that it was. the hitting rock bottom, which was being arrested. that ultimately led them to get clean. so that's the first point. the second point is i have no issue with having public health intervene in any manner that we believe they should. i don't think that

smart's home. and later found him in downtown sonoma. they say prosecutors say smart fired at clayton missing the deputy. in the east bay. a new tool was unveiled friday in pittsburgh fight it in. joining in the fight against climate change, it's a 25 million dollar project from electricity generator. calpine. the company hopes to capture 95% of the carbon generated by the loss. madonna's energy center. the goal is to capture almost all the carbon and then stored underground where it can be repurposed. >> 11 ways for us to achieve this goal carbon capture storage is one of significant ways. we're talking about this technology being applied and natural gas plants across california and across the west. and that will reduce our carbon pollution, but also recruit reduce pollution that's impacting local residents. >> state officials added some fossil fuel plants will still be necessary to meet electricity demands as

now the one thing that some kind of nice is around the immediate they we've got that fog that's in place. it looks like it will repeat that performance tomorrow morning. so at least 2 folks around the immediate bay, san francisco going to get at least some relief at night. and in the morning hours both today and also through tomorrow. little wrinkle those. we see some scattered clouds develop aloft for everybody tomorrow afternoon. again, back to right now. there's a look at the east bay shoreline. it's all covered up with the fog and we're sitting up on the hill here a little bit. interesting to note, though, in those higher elevations, though, watch out, if you winl cool off as much tonight, surface winds are kind of variable but continue that onshore pattern. not any real pop happening in winds until we get really into tomorrow afternoon. as that high starts to move a little bit to the southeast over 70 already in antioch. we've got 60 for concord and livermore with nice 50's lighting up the east bay shoreline in up to the north bay. as i mentioned earlier in some spots in the far east bay and maybe even in the north bay, these might be some of the coolest numbers you see for the whole weekend

until monday morning. however, around the immediate bay, you'll probably see the repeat performance again because of that marine layer now for the game today for the oakland a's battling the twins 407, game time. temps at about 80. but if you're coming in from the east bay, probably get back in your house at night and will be 80 degrees in the air. warm and sunny west northwest winds near about 80 going on here. excessive heat warning. that's where you see the red not along the east bay shoreline and not along most of the peninsula. san francisco not included anywhere near water. you get some relief. 83 by 11 by 2. and 98 is we blast through 100 and again, some of t ose spots in contra costa county and solano counties are looking at numbers to pop up there. 105 in a few degrees. better tomorrow. looks interesting. while the set up a somewhat the same, the induction of this cloud cover and more of flow pattern that comes in from the coastal stronger might be able to chip away at those highs for tomorrow. we'll take a look at all of that. push your 4 zone in a bit. stephanie. >> all right, dave, thank you.

thousands of people are set to hit the pavement and races happening in sonoma and napa county this weekend. they're hoping to cross the finish line before the weather starts to really heat up. kron four's tiffany justice continues. our team coverage of the weather now from sonoma where temperatures are expected to be in the 90's today. tiffany. >> yeah, the weather is expected to be really hot in area, but it's not stopping people from getting out and having some fun outside and taking part in some activities like the one right behind me. the rose 5 game. let me step out. the shot for you. so right behind us, this is where all the runners are registering. there's a lot of people out here already at in the morning. this race is set to start seeing the race just start around. 8 o'clock this morning. and there's hundreds of participants out here by heard them already discussing the eden, hoping this morning remains cool. as long as possible. this is the 19 annual road race which at 8

o'clock this morning in downtown sonoma. organizers aphave per have put participant in mind. and when it comes to this, he putting safeguards in place. the event operation team is activating a he plan, which includes cooling buses along the route ice towels and spray stations at the finish line. they say with the predicted high temps they don't want runners overextend themselves in that they should listen to their body and slow down. if they're feeling warm, they should also hydrate with electrolyte beverages. and if you feel unwell at any time during this race flagged down a medical personnel to get checked out as soon as possible. they should be all along the race route. they also want participants to have fun out here, but also keep those tips in mind as the morning starts to heat up. tomorrow's going to be the half-marathon. so they also want runners coming tomorrow to keep those tips in mind as well. stephanie, back to all right, tiffany, thank you so much for that live perspective. there. >> hot weather is expected to bring lots of people to the

coast this weekend. but >> if you go, there are some important safety advice to keep in mind. kron four's gayle ong reports. >> few people were at ocean beach friday afternoon, but that is expected to change this weekend when temperatures inland are expected to soar to triple digits. you know, you hear about cover. and so it's chat. >> we go towards our guests. >> get kate guessing. and michael jones know the risks and have seen a few water rescues at ocean beach. people swear the san francisco fire department sent out these tips for anyone who wants to beat the heat to take extra caution when visiting the coast. if you find yourself in a rip, current remain calm, do not fight the current swim parallel to shore, stay off rocks in and around the shore while boating ensure your safety gear is in working order and that every person on board has a life jacket that fits. if you do decide this especially if you have kids, please keep an eye on your

little bit more generous with sun screen as opposed being using too little. and then the 3rd thing and probably most important is to stay well hydrated. and obviously that wreck, that drinking lots of fluids in particular water is by far the best refreshment. you want to avoid a other fluids that could be potentially be hydrating such alcohol. >> doctors who know pali with kaiser permanente, redwood city says watch out for signs of heat exhaustion or heat stroke. if you are out and about it doesn't take a lot of heat exposure to start to feel not so sentence. he might feel that might indicate you're going have a problem with the heat is if you start to have headaches, nausea, some dizziness, i've seen to start to sweat a feeling faint, those kinds of things. so if you start to have those kinds of symptoms really be on the lookout for trying to get inside as much as possible and

have their farms park in walnut creek friday. many children played under canopies on play structures to avoid the harsh sun. >> i spoke with a mom who had her plan in place to tackle the upcoming hot weekend by huge like a basketball hoop. those like water slides as water, guns. we've got it all planned out. i think this is like. >> multiple weeks of planning because this is the day this is make sure the kids are ok, but it's fine. i think things are going to be good and don't forget about caring for pets. they too can get into trouble in the heat. so how do you safe in the we have this little contraption that for water and i don't let him touch with the sun is on the ground. i think that like that's the way too hot for his paws. so keeping him on the grass or on the cool shade. >> like no black top. not going just watching out again, the doctor saying that taking those precautions will make a huge difference. so remember, when you're applying the sunscreen, do it liberally and do it often and wear the hat

solar heating sometimes called a dirty high when the sneaks in underneath the high like this. but it will cost us may be the high temperatures earlier projected so maybe won't be as lofty tomorrow. that was kind of always the thinking today is going to be hottest day of the 2. it looks like. but it looks pretty calm from our perspective into the next week. that's good news because sometimes when these highs weekend income, some monsoon, we got to watch out for that as well. so again, the kind of replay what we're talking about, highs pretty much parked overhead. it starts to slip a little bit off towards the east. again, opening up that southwesterly flow. that means some cloud cover tomorrow and actually cooling as we go forward into much of next week might revisit some 80's few folks. well inland that are lots of 100 plus numbers for today. san francisco. at 75 it looks like for today around the coast, the marine layer being dug out is really what's going to determine your highs are going to go with a lot of 60's for now. but pacifica, 69, to be awfully close to 70 81 burlingame still kind of

modest. 82 foster city, 88 san carlos. lot of times that pocket. we might see some lower 90's. we do see them in the south bay. notice when you get away from the valley, it really starts to spike a bit here 103, morgan hill, los gatos, basically about 192 cupertino, east bay shoreline, upper 80's, get over the hills and forget about a tri valley. 100 plus looks like 104, danville, 103, for walnut creek, concord, you may pop 107, 78 for berkeley. the lay one 80. but in the sullivan county, 100 plus again, 93 for napa, 98 for sonoma and santa rosa coming in about 99 again. tomorrow might be a little better. is some of that scattered cloud cover gets here right in the afternoon during the maximum daytime heating. so having said that will say still hot inland with those scattered clouds, temperatures drop through the 90's. and in fact, the 80's east bay shoreline. there is also dropping a little bit on that front, too. and again, the coast is a place where all want to hang out today because it's plenty hot coaster the mountains. but watch out in

>> from the area's local news station. you're watching the kron. 4 morning news >> morning. thank you so much for joining us here on the kron. 4 morning news. i'm stephanie lin. >> it is saturday, july, the 15th and we're covering a lot for you this morning. we start off with team coverage. our tiffany justice is live for us out in sonoma as runners brace for hot temperatures out there. but first, let's get right to dave spahr was tracking the timing of when we can expect things to really heat up day. >> good morning, stephanie. gooe morning, everybody. at least we're enjoying some of this morning fog that's giving us overcast sky conditions again, that will mix out with very much dry and warm air aloft of those. sometimes that warmer air. it's harder to get mixed out on. this is a plus in that particular case. keep that upstairs is good. it's not the surface golden gate bridge checking in with fog, as you see covering everything up again. that will clear out the next couple of hours. current readings haven't moved too much, though, 70 for antioch, some in the readings in the 60's. but a lot of 50's around the perimeter of the

bay. 61 this hour, san jose, the fog as we go to tomorrow. now this is tonight and it fills up, right? the immediate bay there, as you can see at 5.30. and that's going to act as a cooling mechanism with those overcast skies to start off winds. we'll get an onshore breeze a little bit pop this afternoon, but it's a little stronger tomorrow as that high starts to weaken its influence over head from us. and that will open up a little bit of that flow pattern. excessive heat warning covering just about the entire bay unless you're near water. san francisco's not in this, but everybody else looking a very hot temperatures include you, folks in the east bay where some numbers will reach 100 well beyond 100 plus 101, by 3 o'clock. as you can see, there are a lot of contra costa county and solano county be looking at numbers like that. we'll take a closer inspection of all of that coming up in just a bit. stephanie. >> all right, dave, thank you. people plan to be outdoors are being advised to take precautions. that includes thousands of people participating in races in sonoma and napa county this

fitness traditions. 19 annual correct. the 19th year here in tomorrow's half marathon will start in napa. it will run 13.1 miles along the vineyard past the wineries finishing right here in downtown sonoma plaza with a huge wine festival over 20 different wineries will be doing tastings at the finish line and we're so excited to celebrate another year here and a lot. >> so heat is top of mind for a lot of people, especially is probably some of the runners as well. i know that you guys have put precautions in place mind going over those as well. absolutely. i mean, no secret that california up and down the state has warm weather weekend forecasted. we're very lucky that this race starts at 8 o'clock in the morning. so we're enjoying a little bit of those gray skies keep today's participants but our team is working hand-in-hand with local we're going to have cooling buses along the porous tomorrow. in case runners you to take a break. we've doubled our order of ice with ice towels and spray station at

i'm wearing sunscreen. staying hydrated. keeping your eyes on a neighbors may elderly neighbors that may not have resources. and there's so many different scenarios that can make people vulnerable. so keeping out for yourself, but also the people around you. >> last year, a heat wave brought the state dangerously close to widespread outages. so far this year, the governor says the power grid is holding up well with the increased demand. the extreme heat can be especially tough on outdoor workers like road crews and those in construction. the state is deploying monitors to make sure employers are following safety regalations. those include making sure workers have lots of water shade and rest periods. >> we had 2 deaths last year worker fatalities where by the time employer took that. workers in the hospital, their body temperature was 108 degrees. you've got to adjust make sure you take breaks and get enough water and say i it.

kron. morning news. good morning, everybody. heat spike weekend in store. here's the fog, though. check in this morning. see a peeling away, though, says i'm just a morning are here. not going to be around all day, but hey, we'll take it in the morning hours. helps cool us off a little in the bay for overnight recovery. >> we may not see that happened well inland going on with those temperatures dropping nicely. 73, antioch, right now over the east bay hills, concord and livermore already approaching mid 60's 50's up to the north bay with 54 san francisco in half moon bay with the place for the high. that's going to be everything we're talking about here and it looks and the latest projection projections that it's starting to slide a little to the southeast. from our perspective, that means for tomorrow. that means it, although we always kind of thought sunday might not be as hot as saturday. it's looking a little better and maybe some

scattered clouds sneaking in here as well, too. but 9 clouds, meaning it won't generate in the monsoon thunder showers. here it is on futurecast for take your the fog clearing out. all right. except along the coast, though, it looks like it might keep some scattered clouds going on. there comes back tomorrow as i showed you earlier, covers up the bay real nicely here. but then look what happens on sunday afternoon. some mid-level cloud cover seeping up here. and that's going to shave off those high temperatures that are being projected. so not as hot probably tomorrow with the induction of some of that cloud cover. and you can see how it erodes away as we start to get into monday. so it looks to be from this vantage point, a rain-free event of some of that moisture mid-level coming right across the bay area. conveniently during the day, not at night during the day to cut off the solar heating. all right. those winds not doing too much today. a little bit of an onshore wind popping because of inland heating. but then tomorrow as that high starts to shift a little bit to the southeast, we start to see the driving of the onshore winds want to get back to the moisture levels at the surface. dries out in the

francisco, almost 80% of our preliminary overdose deaths are due to fentanyl last month in our city. 53 people died of overdose. while that is a decrease from may. where 78 people lost their lives due to overdose. this is nonetheless higher than we saw last year. francisco department of public health officials describe why fentanyl is in a class by itself when it comes to addictive drugs know. >> is a game changer. it is more deadly. more addictive and harder to recover from and other drugs that we've so within the past due to its potency, a very, very small amounts fentanyl can kill someone. doctor hilary coded outlines key steps dph is taking to reduce the risk of overdose deaths. >> we have trained as well as our partners. thousands of people on how to recognize and overdose and use locks on to save a life. we're also

working to expand training and overdose recognition and response. and we're also planning to fund organizations to provide overdose prevention and outreach focus on black and other highly impacted communities in san francisco, drug prevention and treatment services may be offered to people. but the question is a second. people are not. >> accepting voluntary services for drug treatment. that is where san francisco law enforcement now comes in as a compulsion. every measure, the possibility of being arrested for using drugs in public spaces says sf district attorney brooke jenkins. most of the people that i encounter who are in recovery now say that it was. the hitting rock bottom, which was being arrested. that ultimately led them to get clean. so that's the first point. the second point is i have no issue with having public health intervene in any manner that we believe they should. i don't think that this is a one prong approach of simply using the criminal

near water and looks like that will return again for tonight. so it gives us some cooling relief. but as you can see, peeling away at this morning, our and we go into blue skies for the most part temperature check for you because of that influence. we've kept the temperatures down only about 60 ish, but you go inland up to 73, antioch, up to the north bay. they're your 60's in place. 55 san francisco and 65 meanwhile for san jose, you can see the flow pattern around this high, which is basically part kind of in our backyard here. the thinking, is going to slip to the southwest of the 4 corner states? and from that perspective, we get the backside of the high which is going to usher in some mid-level cloud cover tomorrow. that may cost us a few degrees with that. that's the big plus with all of that in this thinking, we see this on future cast for first of all, this fog clears out for the most part around the coast. that may be problematic in some spots comes back tomorrow morning. and this is nice clears out and we get some cloud cover a lot. that's kind of the monsoon pattern. but if this were more august

fog. there you have it in half. moon bay still overcast, although projections are for variable clouds as we get to the afternoon. it's coming back again tonight. that's good news as we go to tonight. stop about here. here you go. there's the progress of some of that morning fog marine layer. it's not particularly that impressive, but it helps keep those temperatures down for around the bay because tomorrow we're looking for to be quite thin and higher elevations. temperatures are not going to lower that much. there's the scattered clouds that's aloft and that's tomorrow afternoon, which could actually cost us a little bit for those forecast. highs a little bit the way couple showers up there, maybe around clear lake may be question mark, although most of this is pretty dry, though, it looks like speaking to drive back to the surface again this afternoon, it dries out forget it gets very hot, too. there's that marine layer coming back again tomorrow morning. so that's really the plus side of this whole forecast. kind of want to drive home that we get that marine layer coming back. there's the high pressure cell. it's overhead for today. drifts a little bit to the 4 corner states. yeah. and we
