grandmother is now behind bars. but has yet to step is put into court to have the details on why coming up. >> from the area's local news station. you're watching the kron. 4 morning news at 7. >> thank you for joining us here on kron. 4 morning news. i'm ella sogomonian in for stefanie land. it's saturday august. 26. then let's start things off with a look at your weekend weather forecast with dave spahr. >> well, good morning. l a morning, everybody. and we're dealing with a traditional morning fog again, kind of little aggressive. and that's kind of nice help those temperatures a little bit. but will be slow to clear larry brown, some coastal areas today and also a little bit for san francisco. contrast what tomorrow? probably get some better quicker clearing on that front. here's how it looks like on the east bay shoreline for right now due to the fog contract right there at the ground. we have mostly a mixture of upper 50's and lower 60's for right now. a lot of uniformity with temperatures day just getting started. of course, the contrast for your from 24 hours ago were a little cooler

this morning by a couple of degrees. in some cases close to half a dozen on that count. meanwhile, we're actually watching the battle between 2 systems, the low out to sea. that's been keeping us cool the last couple of days. it's going to wane temporarily. now as that high pressure, the 4 corner states gives us another dose of hot temperatures at the surface. there's the fog clears out and ernest along the coast, even as we get into the early afternoon week, repeat the as you can see the good coverage to start the day. but it should clear out a little quicker tomorrow by noon. 74 at 11 o'clock by 2. we're talking about 86 with high temperatures. only grazing some of the lower 90's well inland. but again, another heat spike or bump is expected for the middle of the week. get more into that coming up in a bit. overall, looking good. thanks so much. tape. >> well, more family and friends of murder victims are joining the effort to recall alameda county's top prosecutor kron four's gayle ong reports. but i'm not going to do is be intimidated to not stand up for these families

are going to continue until we get the job brenda grisham is referring to a letter she received from alameda county district attorney pamela price. >> calling the act intimidation and abuse of power. grisham is leading an effort to recall a priceless for reached out to prices office for comment on the claims. a spokesperson sent the letter addressed to gration with a list of answers. friday's news conference took place on what would have been christensen. >> christopher jones is 30th birthday. jones was 17 years old at the time when he was shot and killed in 2010 standing by her other victims as family and friends who lost their loved one to gun violence for all the other families. >> maybe your have gone through similar situations. we're here with you guys. >> you never think it could happen to you and it can unfortunately. that's when fighting for not just heaven, but for others as well. so we need justice and we need pella price to be recalled. the effort to recall price is

underway after the signatures needed to push the moving forward for certified and the county earlier last week, the message that we are sending to the public is these are the people you need to be standing behind because any time you could be one of them. >> lot walls. there's a judicial system. there are judges and there's a jury we need to let the powers that be hand down. the sentence the recall group has together more than 90,000 signatures to get the recall on the ballot. the group expects the recall campaign to cost roughly 8 million dollars. gayle ong kron. 4 news. >> pamela price will be holding a safety town hall event at the cornerstone missionary baptist church that starts at 01:00pm. also the east bay, 2 people were arrested and several others were hurt in a shooting in oakland friday afternoon. police say the gunfire broke out just after 5.30, on international boulevard by 62nd avenue. they didn't say how many victims were hurt, but only that there was one in critical condition. they added that the 2 shooters were taken

into custody while trying to get away on public transportation. a possible police shape. it's in orinda bite have led to a police cruiser crashing into a wells fargo late thursday night. this happened along broadway and camino pablo just after midnight. nobody was hurt. but the building is now boarded up. we're hearing that the bank will stay open during regular business hours, though. now to another crash. this one involving a driverless cruise car in san francisco. this was the scene thursday night near geary boulevard and gough street. >> police say the automated car crashed into another decided well, both were making a left turn. no injuries were reported here and earlier this month, crews reduce the number of their vehicles out on the roadways after crash involving a fire truck that was heading into an emergency. general motors owns crews and we've reached out to the company for comment but have not heard back. the attorney for 2 brothers who were shot by martinez police. >> he's calling on the

california attorney general and the police department to release body camera video of the incident. the 2 men were shot while they were parked outside of a closed cannabis dispensary last week. one of them died and the other is said to be recovering after being shot in the back. their attorney says neither of them had a weapon on them, nor is a suspect in any crime. the 2 year-old child was killed after being hit by a car in fremont parking lot thursday night. this happened at around be marie east shopping center. the driver is cooperating with investigators. and police say that they were sober, not speeding at all, but no other details were released here. in other news, the accused killer or 6 year-old boy and his grandmother is behind bars this morning concourses we've been doing reports of the prime suspect as the boy's uncle. >> the man accused of deadly stabbing 6 year-old jordan cam walker and the stabbing death of the child's great-grandmother. delfina turner was scheduled to be

arraigned for murder charges here at the santa clara hall of justice in san jose. but that didn't happen because the defendant, 27 year-old nathan addison, refused to leave his jail >> yes, he refused to come to court. >> court records reveal that out it is related to both murder victims. he is the grandson of 71 year-old delfina turner and the uncle of jordan cam walker it is accused of the august 4th double murder inside his grandmother's apartment on park avenue. jose police responded to that location on the report of several people being deceased inside the residence and found both victims who were pronounced dead at the scene. >> mister addison is is known to law enforcement he has a criminal history involving weapons, a things of that nature. this case is is. a there's an elderly victim of very young victim, aged 6 years old and i just want to

thank the san jose police department detectives, crime scene unit. forensic video technicians who collected the video surveillance that allowed a this arrest to occur. nathan addison was also a no show friday in 3 separate and unrelated criminal hearings in the county's mental health court. as for the double deadly stabbings, the prosecution did not reveal any motives for those crimes. nathan addison's arraignment has been rescheduled for monday. >> in jose haaziq madyun kron. 4 news. >> san francisco transit officials have made changes to an intersection where a 4 year-old girl in a stroller was killed inside of a crosswalk last week. they've reduced of 2 right turn lanes from 4th street onto king street down to a single lane. the aim is to slow down traffic and reduce any problems between turning vehicles and pedestrians were in the crosswalk. on the peninsula brought more. police

us live from the college. tiffany, what are you seeing out >> so a lot of the teams will be arriving at 8 o'clock this morning. but a few teams and volunteers have already started to arrive to set up their tables and tents. and we have security here on campus are ready as well. this is going to be a pretty big event that's going to start at 10 o'clock this morning and go all the way through the day until 10:00pm tonight. and i did speak with security moments ago and they told me last year the turnout was great and security is going to be tight today as well. we're at chabot college where this event will be held at their outdoor field. here is a map to where this relay for life event will be those who are attending or wanting to attend are being asked to park at the parking lot. and we were there just a moment ago. there's plenty of parking here on campus. teams are going to be able to set up tents around the track to hangout chat, fundraise for their specific

team. and today is going to be filled with events. first. they're going to be lebrating for local cancer survivors. this is really going to be a special moment. all attendees are being asked to line the track while the cancer survivors make their lap around the track that share them on your to bring some noise makers, even pompoms that opening ceremony is going to start at 10 o'clock sharp this morning. and after that, caregivers will joining in for a lap as well. relay for life is the world's largest volunteer base fundraising event for the past. 36 years in this event will go on no matter what rain or shine. so you're asked bring some sunscreen pair with the hat if need be even on umbrella. but security is also saying and the event organizers are saying that there's a few things you are not allowed to bring tobacco alcohol pets aside from service animals, tense stakes

>> welcome back. a new report from the cdc says insects are spreading viruses across the country to humans, including the west nile virus. now, 2 people have died from that virus right here in california. kron four's justine waltman reports. >> the latest outbreak of west nile virus in the bay area was confirmed friday afternoon. the contra costa county mosquito and vector district is reporting a number of chickens have tested positive for the virus. more mosquitoes carrying the disease and one-b are dead from the disease were also found. santa clara county has also seen a large increase in west nile positive mosquitoes this year. summers west nile season has also turned deadly for humans. yolo county resident recently died from west nile virus. it's the first death yolo county has seen from the disease since 2018. the sacramento county public health department is also reporting one death and

16 confirmed cases of the mosquito carrying virus in the area. experts say this highlights what continues to be a historic season for west nile in northern california with the increase in rain there and more areas of standing water. >> and then with humidity, the hot them whiskey activity has increased a contra. costa county health services says so far no humans have tested positive for the virus. >> the county's mosquito and vector control department says that if people take the right steps, they can limit their risk of getting infected where we pallant. >> dumping scrub containers and check your window in your door screens to make sure you're not letting any mosquitoes in your house. >> if mosquitoes are still around after you've dumped out all of your standing water and scrub your containers, reach out to the mosquito and vector control district for mitigation services. there's no additional costs because it's already paid for by county residents, property taxes and benefit assessments.

i'm justine waldman. kron. 4 news. >> good tips. and due to wildfires burning in washington and oregon bay area, air officials are extending an air quality advisory through sunday. they say you might see some smoky or hazy skies or even smell some smoke today. let's take a live look outside this time of the golden gate bridge. and it's looking a little bit less cloudy than normal, but still some clouds up in the air. dave, what is the rest of the bay area looking like for us? well, we're seeing that fog penetrate a little bit inland. you can see the shot over san jose state. we have some cloudy skies to start the day. however. >> this will clear out fairly quickly as the morning progresses. however, it will be a little problematic more so in san francisco take a little longer to clear going on. we'll probably get some better quicker clearing tomorrow, though, 60's cover most of perimeter of the bay inland. you're looking at 65 antioch, but still some upper 50's even at this hour as we see also up to the north bay to future cast for we take care of that marine layer by

the afternoon, a lingering along the coast a little bit for some scattered clouds, at least by the mid-afternoon before it rolls back again for tonight. you don't see any flaring up in the mountains, by the way, even though that's the backside of this high pressure, which is expected to back over us again by the middle of the week. so it's adjusting noting that also as we get into sunday, yeah, we're do the same thing again with the fog program. as we typically do, however, think we'll see quicker clearing the we will for today, even for coastal areas. and again, no flaring up in the mountains, even though we're on the backside of this high, that highs going to get closer to us as we progress early into next week. this guy's been insulating us yesterday brings us the thicker marine layer and all the morning fog. but help suppress those temperatures even for you, folks. well inland going to be looking at highs. 90 lower 90's, at least for a couple of days. so today we've got some late coastal bay clearing going on this, the east bay shoreline bay temps in the upper 70's, 90 ish inland. you can take that for tomorrow and

even into monday, it looks like. but next week, the thing to look for wednesday's our big day. that's another heat pump going on here. it's a one-day event will pop to around 100 and some of those very sensitive areas, antioch, maybe around livermore, pleasanton might make it up to about 100 as well. forecast today, we'll call it. 72 variable cloud, san francisco open hanging on to a few of those morning clouds and 83 with clouds. we just showed you their warm conditions to be found, getting hot still inland as we're looking at lower 90's for east bay. pretty much holding on to the 80's up to the north bay. there's your 70 forecast really quickly to note, look at the drop in the right hand side of your screen on friday, going to keep some scattered clouds and there ella before we're talking about little shot of maybe some rain doesn't look as likely. that is going to be token. but the bigger issue is with the impact of that low. let's bring those temps down a bit. it's kind ding for something i'm sorry for people like the heat or something. but anyway, i'm rooting for it because you know how much i love the heat. but think it's that special time of year where it's really, really, really warm

and finally feels like summer here in san francisco. but it's not too. >> insufferable out inland. and, you know, this is conveniently timed out because friday will be the first day that made logical autumn. so fascinating that nice. thank you so much, dave. over in hawaii, maui county has released a list of names of the people that they say are missing. >> after wildfire tore through la hina, there are now more than >> 400 names on that list which is much lower than the roughly 1100 initially reported earlier this week. >> we're releasing this list of 388 names today. because we know that it will help with the investigation. but we're also balancing that because we do know that once those names come out, it can and will cause pain for some folks that are affected by this. this is not an easy thing to do, but we want to make sure that we're doing everything we can possibly. to make this

happened around 07:00pm wednesday when investigators say 59 year-old john snow inc, a retired ventura police sergeant came into the bar, headed straight to his estranged wife and shot her. he continued firing at others inside and outside the bar. in this cell phone video provided by one of the people who was there. you can see people ducking for cover behind cars and also see a shewiff's deputy outside an suv with what looks like a rifle. officials say the violence finally ended when the gunman was killed during a gun battle with 7 sheriff's deputies with the roads around the bar opened friday. we got a closer look at some of the damage left behind both physical and emotional. we want to get our deepest condolences everybody who is involved in this horrific. >> incident. it's on

history. and the chase in contra costa county leads police all the way to san francisco and back. but the suspect causing chaos along the way. good morning and welcome back to kron. 4 morning news. we're going to start off this half hour with another look at the forecast. dave spahr in the weather center. >> okay. good morning. l a good morning, everybody. and off to that typical foggy start going on. but that's pretty cool because it keeps those temperatures down as it will do even into this afternoon as we see some clearing inland. very quickly here, a little more sluggish in parts of the bay and certainly along the coast, the temperatures remain a bit on the cooler side and the sky conditions will improve a bit on you on sunday. here's the breakdown that you can expect for today. 74 at 11 o'clock by 2 word. 86 and high temperatures in little probably only settle and around 90 and it will be the next couple of days. now you can't make it out here so much. but there is a high in the 4 corner states. it's been kind of pushed to the far east. but our system is controlling our weather. is that low that you see there?

not a lot of moisture with but it's a nice blocker and provides a nice flow pattern brings out in the later helping out there. you have that thicker marine layer with the fog covering up the east bay shoreline for right now. temperature check for you. a lower 60's hover the east bay shoreline. we've got 50's up to the north bay. 59 san francisco. 64 meanwhile for san jose giants game today versus the braves. this game's or earlier in the day and temperatures near 70. but the big issue is going to those winds. we got him out of the west at about 20 in gusts or perhaps possible around 30. so little bit on the chilly side, even with temperatures around 70 and that fog will be a little bit slow to clear in quick, too. we turn 72. it looks like for today for high san francisco, oakland at 77. 83 will do it for san jose. now coming up a little bit here, we'll have a look at that extended forecast again for you. and we are going to be talking about another, although brief, little heat spike coming our way for the middle of the all right. see you sunday. >> and we could soon see the largest strike of health care workers in u.s. history.

today, kaiser permanente. workers across the nation are preparing for a strike vote. negotiations have been going on for 4 months. the unions representing 85,000 workers have until september 16 have their votes. start on october. workers are fighting for higher wages and what they described as serious under staffing. the union also says that they've reached an impasse in negotiations, something the hospital refutes the company released a statement saying kaiser permanente is fully committed to reaching an agreement with the unions affiliated with the coalition just as we have done in every national bargaining since 1999, they go on to say an agreement might be reached by september 30th when the contract expires. reports of anti-semitic hate crimes have skyrocketed during the pandemic. and the state attorney general's office says more keep coming in. local

leaders joined in solidarity at a temple in lafayette to support the jewish community. khan forcefully to call reports. >> he name here. i am here. i am a way to drown out the hate spreading against the jewish community on the web and through flyers circulating throughout bay area, communities, state and local elected leaders stood side by side friday at temple. isaiah in lafayette encouraging the public to participate in the jewish community relations councils here. i am initiative inviting people to record and post positive messages about the jewish community online and increase awareness about how anti-semitism is impacting gm's. we're experiencing this dilution on social media with negative messaging. let's put positive messaging out there. let's make sure that there's more voices out there in support of the jewish community. the state attorney general's office says antisemitic hate crimes increased more than 24% last year and saw more than 20%

increase the year prior. we're living in a time when temple isaiah needs to spend its dollars on guards and fences and gates. >> when we would much rather be spending it on education and community and works of good. i've never been subject to direct anti-semitism prior to my election to public office. that is until late last year when walnut creek council member kevin wilkes, as anti-semitic flyers were found in his area, then in june for people used zoom to verbally, attack him for being jewish during a council meeting. freedom of speech doesn't mean freedom of reach. >> and we don't need to help these haters spread their evil messages. this group says it is committed to silencing those messages with the community's lafayette, philippe djegal kron. 4 news. >> the san francisco bay curry is responding to claims that they refuse to serve police officers. the social media post, the san francisco police union association says reams california refused to serve an

officer last weekend at their mission, district location attaching their post is what appears to be an e-mail from the restaurant saying at reims, we do have a policy to not serve anyone that is armed and uniformed officers are welcome to our established mundt when they're off duty and not armed. in a statement responding to the claims ream says its policy is meant to keep guns out of its stores as a way to ensure the safety of its employees. and according to their website, reams mission, district location is temporarily closed. the oakland and ferry building locations are still open. police arrested a suspect after leading them on a high-speed chase from contra costa county to san francisco. and then back to the east bay highway patrol reports that the suspect struck several other cars while trying to get away kron four's. dan thorn is sharing the experience of one of those drivers whose car was sideswiped and called it a wild experience.

>> police take over a richmond neighborhood after a high-speed chase. turns a chase on foot for a suspect. the wanted driver leading police in this white infiniti to the east bay into the city and back to the east bay. several other drivers struck and sideswiped in the chaos. i looked in my rearview mirror and i >> are skirting around in the background of my gosh. it serve high lauren combs was on the bay bridge friday afternoon when her car was hit by the fleeing driver sideswiped my numbers. great >> and then kept going. and there's like 30 police cars. there was motorcycles. there were like undercover police cars. there are so many homes as worried there would be a standoff on the bridge. but later discovered the speeding driver took off into the east bay. >> police say the driver abandoned this white car near anderson park in richmond. >> and took off on foot. combs is grateful to have gotten away with minimal damage to or

pickup, but he's concerned for everyone involved. >> and what about stay of the guy? just another crazy day on the bridge. >> that was dan reporting. police were able to talk the driver out of the home in richmond and into custody. in other news, the mayor of san francisco has big plans for the downtown area. london breed would like to convert many of those empty storefronts into vibrant pop-up shops. kron four's rob nesbitt shares the details. >> there will be 17 few are vacant signs in san francisco starting september 17th. that's when business owners will move into pop-up locations, stretching from embarcadero center to montgomery street. it wasn't easy for the nonprofit sf new deal to pick the winners. executive director simon, burt ranks as 875 applied and more paperwork is still coming in. excited to bring. >> the energy and excitement that these small businesses and artists and cultural groups are going to able to to bring to these vacant

storefronts. hillary past meant owns the popular devil's teeth bakery. one of the 17 picked to take part. >> she wants to be a part of the movement that changes any negative stereotypes. downtown san francisco is getting tourists down at >> people going to work. the city is not dead. it's not dying. and actually excited to be a part of something too. counteract that devil's teeth. bakery currently has 2 locations in the city sunset in richmond districts. >> but for others there, pop-up location will be their first storefront experience helping small business owners like hill. get a jump start with his business donuts that was featured on live in the bay last year. chair my donuts, one stomach at a time when the you know, i'm i'm all about that. >> that's my goal is eventually most are front and then, you know, take over the world. rent in the pop-up spaces will be free. and each participant receives an $8,000 grant to get up and running a boost to san francisco's downtown recovery efforts, filling storefronts and re-imagining how the city does business. we don't see this as

dropping about 79. however, here in the bay, we're looking at a heat spike developing or bump for the middle of the week. why were we hear this? the gulf of mexico up here? all right, cuba. all right. yucatan peninsula, what's his blog here? it's something national hurricane center is watching to develop. and the projections send it right through the gulf of mexico in 2 major models. have it both doing that. it's a little different on the pathway. it takes one through florida. the other up more the gulf coast. but it's something the bears some watching looks like it may become something that you're going to hear about maybe later today or potentially tomorrow. so we keep an eye on that back in the west coast here. what we're waiting for the development of this high to march backward here. you don't see any thunder shower activity up there in tahoe in the mountains going forward is this high gets a little closer. don't forget again, we're on the backside of it, at least for now. middle of the week is when that heat spike is it breaks down very quickly. you see the incoming cloud cover coming in from the northwest. oh, yeah. there it is. a little bit of surge of

out what's going on right now. speaking of that fog, it's covering up the east bay shoreline for right now is what we've got going on can see too much of the east bay shoreline. now with all that ground fog, that's pretty much in place. even in the foreground, too. temperature check for you. a pretty much the lower 60's for now upper 50's to like san francisco in half moon bay. 65 at this hour for any act. but we are cooler this morning than yesterday by almost a half a dozen degrees or so. you see 3 to 5 degrees trailing that low to the left hand side of the screen indicates our friend. it's been insulating us from the hotter weather with that high to the east and bringing up that thicker marine layer. it's actually pretty dry aloft, but at least at the ground level, we're getting some relief from the fog. somewhat slow to clear again, some coastal areas, some of that fog will remain will do the same thing again tomorrow. but i think it will clear out a little quicker than today. so lining up for you. we've got 79 by high noon, 87 by 3. only those far inland spots are going to reach about 90 both today. tomorrow and somewhat the same into monday.

missionary baptist church at 01:00pm. 2 people were arrested and several others hurt in a shooting in oakland friday afternoon. police say the gunfire broke out just after 5.30, on international boulevard by 62nd avenue. they didn't say how many victims were hurt. only that one was in critical condition. they added that the 2 shooters were taken into custody while trying to get away on public transportation. a possible police chase in orinda might have led to a police cruiser crashing into a wells fargo bank late thursday night. this happened along rockaway and camino pablo just after midnight. nobody was hurt. but the building is now boarded up. we are hearing, though, that the bank will stay open during regular business hours. now to another crash. this one involving a driverless cruise car in san francisco. this was the scene thursday night near geary boulevard and gough street. >> police say the automated car crashed into another beside while both were trying to make a left-hand turn. no

injuries reported there. and earlier this month, crews reduce the number of their vehicles out on the roads after a crash involving a fire truck that was heading to an emergency. general motors owns crews and we've reached out to the company but have not heard back. the attorney for 2 brothers who were shot by martinez police is calling on the california attorney general and the police department to release body camera video of the incident. the 2 men were shot while they were parked outside of a closed cannabis dispensary last week. one of them died and the other said to be recovering after being shot in the back. their attorney says neither of them had a weapon or as a suspect in any crime. a 2 year-old child was killed after being hit by a car in a fremont parking lot thursday night. this happened at around the marie east shopping center. the driver is cooperating with investigators and police say that the driver was sober and was not speeding, but no other details were released. in other news,

the accused killer, a 6 year-old boy and his grandmother is behind bars. kron 4 says it do reports that the prime suspect as the boy's uncle. >> the man accused of deadly stabbing 6 year-old jordan cam walker and the stabbing death of the child's great-grandmother. delfina turner was scheduled to be arraigned for murder charges here at the santa clara hall of justice in san jose. but that didn't happen because the defendant, 27 year-old nathan addison, refused to leave his jail cell. >> yes, he refused to come to court. >> court records reveal that addison is related to both murder victims. he is the grandson of 71 year-old delfina turner and the uncle of jordan cam walker at us. it is accused of the august 4th double murder inside his grandmother's apartment on park avenue. jose police responded to that location on the report of several people being deceased inside the residence and found both victims who were pronounced

dead at the scene. >> mister addison is is known to law enforcement he has criminal history involving weapons, a things of that nature this case is is. a there's an elderly victim of very young victim, aged 6 years old and i just want to thank the san jose police department detectives, crime scene unit. forensic video technicians who collected the video surveillance that allowed a this arrest to occur. nathan addison was also a no show friday in 3 separate and unrelated criminal hearings in the county's mental health court. as for the double deadly stabbings, the prosecution did not reveal any motives for those crimes. nathan addison's arraignment has been rescheduled for monday. >> in jose haaziq madyun kron. 4 news. >> san francisco transit officials have made changes to

what? it's still foggy cause. it is san francisco. >> we have dave spahr in the weather center with the forecast. >> good morning. l a good morning. everybody out fog. a study every where you can see this, the shot coming in to the east bay shoreline for right now covering up, as you can see, all those ground fog and it is right at the we don't see the dry. it's dry air pretty much when you go upstairs all the way up and this will clear out as we go into the late morning hours, this could be a little slower to clear. tomorrow in the coastal areas probably will be a little stubborn in terms of clearing. this is because of the slow, not a good friend of us because it's giving us some cooler temperatures and relief good, strong onshore winds to in some select a spot. you'll feel that onshore wind to keep your san francisco golden gate right up to the east bay shoreline to the carquinez strait. lower 60's line up the east bay shoreline. we're at 69 already for antioch, san francisco checks and 59, lot of 50's up to the north bay as well. but this is cooler than we saw just 24 hours ago. back to our low there it is hanging around the high pressure not

about today's talent that comes in heard. >> that little nas x was somebody who most recently came through and recorded some of their music. their yeah, little nas x came through and we had one republic recording that just went platinum. that was recently as well. george clinton that work with george clinton recently and just did the last week of set up drums for perry, prince and mike clark headhunters have been in there all week. actually. >> i imagine it's hard not to be star struck. and what exactly do you do? are you recording engineer engineer and producer and a wow. what do you do it? so yeah, it helps to have a broad skill set when working in the studio. a lot of people are multi instrumentalist you and just wear well. >> kind of. we need to do that. so what's the crew like? i'm imagine that it's tough to get into work and hyde street studios given. >> just what a landmark it truly is. i guess guess it's just, you know, the people that end up working, they're

>> welcome back to kron. 4 morning news. good morning, everybody. kind of a snapshot of what you'd expect for today. once we take care of the morning fog even impacting a little bit of some of those fog clouds. some of the inland areas, 64 at 09:00am by 12. we're going 79 87 by 3 pretty tame. you know, for this time of year. so going to feel very summer-like with all of this. but what's been our relief? it's been that guy over my shoulder there. that little low pressure system is provided nice. that marine layer these mornings giving us a little break from the heat that we had from earlier last week. but it's going to wane as we get into wednesday. high pressure is kind of over here around texas and so forth and it's going to start to retrograde back and hibernate to the west coast. again, that's we're going to see the heat pump that's projected for around wednesday. short, it will be. here is the fog effort. there you see a covering over the east bay shoreline at the ground level. you get higher up in the sky. a few 1000 feet turns dry. there's a little wet wedge

just a little bit and dry all the way up. so don't have really that thick of marine layer. but enough to do the trick is you can see 60's line at the east bay shoreline. 69 off to antioch. a lot of 50's up here to the north bay. we're going 60 for san francisco and oakland as well. the winds today will go right across the golden gate park a straight as well. not really impacting so much. the north and the south bay for this now means speaking of the wiods, the support for the giants game today versus the braves game time as 105. so all day you get the maximum heating temperatures at around 70 and some scattered clouds may be left over from the morning. and then when the game finishes here comes the fog rolling back in again. boy, look at those winds there, western about 20 gusting at about 30. so even though you have temperatures around 70, it's going to feel kind of chilly with that strong onshore wind workers. keep that in mind to kia and now from the east bay, you know, grab that sweater and jacket. keep you warm for today. got some scattered clouds left in the forecast here. about 70 to

through flyers circulating throughout bay area, communities, state and local elected leaders stood side by side friday at temple. isaiah in lafayette encouraging the public to participate in the jewish community relations councils here. i am initiative inviting people to record and post positive messages about the jewish community online and increase awareness about how anti-semitism is impacting gm's. we're experiencing this dilution on social media with negative messaging. let's put positive messaging out there. let's make sure that there's more voices out there in support of the jewish community. the state attorney general's office says antisemitic hate crimes increased more than 24% last year and saw more than 20% increase the year prior. we're living in a time when temple isaiah needs to spend its dollars on guards and fences and gates. >> when we would much rather be spending it on education and community and works of good. i've never been subject

to direct anti-semitism prior to my election to public office. that is until late last year when walnut creek council member kevin wilkes, as anti-semitic flyers were found in his area, then in june for people used zoom to verbally, attack him for being jewish during a council meeting. freedom of speech doesn't mean freedom of reach. >> and we don't need to help these haters spread their evil messages. this group says it is committed to silencing those messages with the community's help the lafayette. police kron 4 news. >> we could soon see the largest strike of health care workers in u.s. history. today, kaiser permanente. workers across the nation are preparing for a strike vote. negotiations have been going on for 4 months. the unions representing 85,000 workers have until september 16th to cast their votes. after that, a strike could start on october. 1st, the workers are fighting for higher wages and what they described as serious

under staffing issues. the union also says that they've reached an impasse in negotiations, something the hospital refutes the company released a statement saying, quote, kaiser permanente is fully committed to reaching an agreement with the unions affiliated with the coalition just as we have done and every national bargaining since 1999, they go on to say an agreement might be reached by september. 30th when the contract expires. the san francisco bay curry is responding to claims that they refuse to serve police officers and the social media post. the san francisco police union association says reams california refused to serve officer last weekend at their mission, district location attaching their post as what appears to be an e-mail from the restaurant saying dreams. we do have a policy to not serve anyone that is armed in a uniform. all officers are welcome too. come to our establishment when they're off duty and not armed. in a

statement responding to the claims ream says its policy is meant to keep guns out of their stores as a way to ensure the safety of their employees. and according to their website, reams mission location is temporarily closed. the open ferry building locations are still open. in other news, police arrested a suspect after leading them on a high-speed chase from contra costa county to san francisco. and then back to the east bay highway patrol reports that the suspect struck several other cars while trying to get away. kron four's dan thorn to sharing the experience. one of those drivers whose car was sideswiped and called it a wild experience. >> police take over a richmond neighborhood after a high-speed chase. turns a chase on foot for a suspect. the wanted driver leading police in this white infiniti to the east bay into the city and back to the east bay. several other drivers struck and sideswiped in the chaos. i looked in my rearview mirror and i

plans for downtown london breed would like to convert many of those empty storefronts into vibrant pop-up shops. kron four's rob nesbitt shares the details. >> there will be 17 few are vacant signs in san francisco starting september 17th. that's when business owners will move into pop-up locations, stretching from embarcadero center to montgomery street. it wasn't easy for the nonprofit sf new deal to pick the winners. executive director simon, burt ranks as 875 applied and more paperwork is still coming in. excited to bring. >> the energy and excitement that these small businesses and artists and cultural groups are going to able to to bring to these vacant storefronts hillary and owns the popular devil's teeth bakery. one of the 17 picked to take part. >> she wants to be a part of the movement that changes any negative stereotypes. downtown san francisco is getting tourist town. that is. >> people going to work. the city is not dead. it's not dying. and actually excited to be a part of something too. counteract that devil's teeth.

after 5.30, on international boulevard by 62nd avenue. they didn't say how many victims were hurt, but only that one was in critical condition. they added that the 2 shooters were taken into custody. well, trying to get away on public transportation. and a possible police chiefs in a random might have led to a police cruiser crashing into a wells fargo bank late thursday night. this happened along rockaway and camino pablo just after midnight. nobody was hurt, but the building is boarded up. we are hearing, though, that the bank will stay open during regular business hours. now to another crash. this one involving a driverless cruise car in san francisco. this was the scene thursday night near geary boulevard and golf street. police say the automated car crashed into another bus. i did well. both were trying to make a left-hand turn. no injuries were reported. there. and earlier this month, crews reduce the number of their vehicles on the road after a crash involving a fire truck. it was heading to an emergency. general motors owns

crews and we've reached out to the company for comment but have not heard back. the attorney for 2 brothers who were shot by martinez. police is calling on the california attorney general and the police department to release body camera video of the incident. the 2 men were shot while they were parked outside of a closed cannabis dispensary last week. one of them died and the other is recovering after he was set to been shot in the back. their attorney says neither of them had a weapon or as a suspect in any crime. a 2 year-old child nas killed after being hit by a car in a fremont parking lot thursday night. this happened at the marie is shopping center and the driver is cooperating with investigators. police say they don't think the driver was under the influence of any drugs or alcohol and they were not speeding. but no other details were released. in other news, the accused killer of a 6 year-old boy and his grandmother is behind bars this morning and kron four's haaziq madyun reports the prime suspect is the boy's uncle.

>> the man accused of deadly stabbing 6 year-old jordan cam walker and the stabbing death of the child's great-grandmother. delfina turner was scheduled to be arraigned for murder charges here at the santa clara hall of justice in san jose. but that didn't happen because the defendant, 27 year-old nathan addison, refused to leave his jail cell. >> yes, he refused to come to court. >> court records reveal that addison is related to both murder victims. he is the grandson of 71 year-old delfina turner and the uncle of jordan cam walker at us. it is accused of the august 4th double murder inside his grandmother's apartment on park avenue. jose police responded to that location on the report of several people being deceased inside the residence and found both victims who were pronounced dead at the scene. >> mister addison is is known to law enforcement he has criminal history involving

impasse in negotiations, something the hospital refutes the company released this statement saying kaiser permanente is fully committed to reaching an agreement with the unions affiliated with the coalition. just as we have done in every national bargaining since 1999, they go on to say an agreement might be reached by september. 30th when the contract expires. reports of anti-semitic hate skyrocketed during the pandemic and the state attorney general's office says more keep coming in. local leaders joined in solidarity at a temple in lafayette to support the jewish community. kron four's philippe to call. was there. >> he name here. i am here. i am a way to drown out the hate spreading against the jewish community on the web and through flyers circulating throughout bay area, communities, state and local elected leaders stood side by side friday at temple. isaiah in lafayette encouraging the public to participate in the jewish community relations councils. here i am initiative
