involving an emergency vehicle in san francisco. >> from the area's local news station, you're watching the kron. 4 morning news at 7. >> thank. thank you so much for joining us here on the kron. 4 morning news. i'm stephanie lin. >> it's saturday, september. the second. let's start by taking a look at the weather conditions with dave spahr. good morning today. well, good morning, stephanie. good morning, everybody. we're looking at a pretty calm weekend in store for us, although a little bit on the gloomy side. that's what we're going to see both today. a little bit better clearing tomorrow, but still going to cloud cover there monday, as we kind of clear this all out and hold on to those mild temperatures. so finally, get it right in this three-day weekend. but for right now, we're dealing with a lot of cloud cover to start some morning drizzle and that sort of thing, not that unusual here. we have this marine layer to which to deal with and the slow in our backyard is just kind of eating up a little bit, if you will. we've got 60's on the board here, as you will see, for the most part, 50's off to the peninsula in your contract

shows were actually a couple degrees ahead of where we were not a surprise with this layer of cloud cover over us. really quick check into the winds. they're kind of variable, but they're going to favor the onshore direction. they'll be a little bit of a pop tomorrow afternoon and into early next week. they will continue to keep us in the mild trend for those temperatures. but here's what's responsible and our backyard. we have this low. we talk much about it came soaring in from the north, but it's fairly dry way upstairs. however, we may get that passing sprinkle here or there just to make note of so just kind of plan on maybe a little sprinkle today and tomorrow in the afternoon, generally speaking, variable clouds, particularly inland, looks like for the afternoon. so we're going to hang on to them all day today in the times will start to rebuild upon us both today and tomorrow. those temperatures very mild, even well inland. we're looking at the 70's closer. look at your weekend forecast and a peak in the next week as well, stephanie. all right. and

breaking news we're following this morning. legendary singer jimmy buffett has died. >> buffett shot to fame after the release of his 1977. hit margarita ville. the song spent 22 weeks on the billboard hot 100 chart. the song went on to inspire restaurants, resorts, a clothing brand and several food items like salad dressing. a statement shared on buff its official website said buffett passed away peacefully last night surrounded by family, friends, music and his dogs. the statement did not say what buffett died from. he was 76 years old. this morning. more problems for driverless car company. cruise the san francisco fire department now claiming to cruise car stalled, blocking an ambulance carrying a critically injured patient. it happened back on august 14th. the fire department adding the person died about 20 minutes after arriving to the hospital. we

have reached out to cruise for response to the fire department's claims. we have not yet heard back this just the latest instance of a driverless car blocking emergency vehicles in the city back on august 10th. the cruise car collided with a fire truck. as you can see there at the intersection of polk and turk streets. this is video of that from the citizen app. police said the truck was headed to an emergency call with its lights and siren on cruz has agreed to cut its san francisco fleet in half to sort out the issues. a community is honoring the life of a woman who died after she suffered a brain injury at a high school football game. four's dan thorn was there from mountain view. high school's first game since that tragedy. >> it's an emotional night for mountain view. high school football. it's the squad's first game after teen mom, lucinda daniels died from a brain injury last week. it was very unexpected. so sad like i feel so bad for family as the spartans took the field

danielson dylan, who was injured last week with seen nursing a broken heart and a broken leg. family friend in fellow student brady gilbert says daniels loved her boys and the team. she was awesome. she was feeling one of the greatest mom. the support she never missed a the daniels family has been asking for privacy at this time, but they're asking for the community to keep them in their prayers. daniels has been also shared with principal kipp glazer. but after daniel's death at the hospital, she still giving life to others. and he said her organ donation has already saved >> 4 lives it is something they he wants people to know and encourage other people to consider becoming organ >> well, another family friend has started a gofundme to help the daniels family during this tragic time. and as of this report, it is raised more than $130,000 reporting in mountain view. dan thorn kron, 4 news.

>> let her police are investigating a crash that killed a teenager. it happened around friday morning near columbus and redwood parkway. police say a teenage driver lost control of the pickup truck hit the center median and rolled over. the driver was taken to a hospital with injuries. a passenger died at the scene. police say drugs or alcohol do not appear to be a factor here. this is the police say they've arrested 450 drug users in the first 3 months of the city's crackdown on open air drug dealing. they say every person detained was offered treatment. but most refused. police also arrested 300 suspected drug dealers. they also seized large amounts of drugs, including fentanyl. the city's medical examiner says between january and july, 473 people died from drug overdoses in the city. meanwhile, oakland is at risk of losing its state funding for its 9-1-1, emergency system kron four's haaziq madyun has more. >> the city of oakland has

another 9-1-1, emergency on its hands. this one involves opd finding a response that will keep state funding for emergency dispatch by complying with cal oes response requirements. the california office of emergency management has now given the oakland police department a deadline to call answer times into compliance. this is after opd recently failed to meet a 30 day deadline to provide a call. answer improvement plans. people's lives are at risk. when these regulations do not comply, the state emergency telephone number account funding stipulates that 90% of the time 9-1-1, calls must be answered within 15 seconds. however, according to cal oes, opd is only hitting the 15 second mark for answering 9-1-1. calls. 46% of the time, which is alarming for oakland, public safety advocate, marlene sacks who has been keeping a close eye on this issue for several years. and my position is that

heads should be rolling for the fact that these problems have not been corrected. after all this time, the city consistently makes excuses. but where there's a will, there's a way and this problem is an emergency city of oakland's public information office sent kron 4 statement regarding this issue. it reads in part, quote. >> the oakland police department has identified 2 cal oes that the primary contributing factor to call answer times as lack of staffing. >> there are currently 63 dispatch call taking staff 14 vacancies on quote, cal oes has given the oakland police department 12 months to bring 9-1-1, call answer times into compliance. has it made you kron 4 news? >> happening right now for those planning on coming into san francisco this weekend. expect a major road closure on i-80 kron four's. tiffany justice is live for us now. the cokinos bridge with a look at what we need to know to get around to name.

>> all right, stephanie, construction crews are already out here this morning. we're going to be escorted closer to the construction. but we do know that this is westbound i-80, not a car on it because it is close. so if you're coming from sacramento or into the city over this labor day weekend, i would tack on another hour or so for those detours that we are about to talk about right now. so here's a map showing you where the closure is happening with some suggested detours drivers will be taken off of the 7.80, they can connect that 6.80, and reconnect to 80 either using highway for just go all the way to 24 or 5.80. caltrans is also caution. drivers. >> westbound i-80 just east of the car keys bridge toll plaza drive with caution as lanes will reduced to one lane as you head towards is closure. this is a big project from caltrans. the scheduled

closure started on thursday will go all the way until tuesday with the road reopened to motorists again. >> at 5 o'clock in the morning, they say closing the road during the holiday weekend was the alternative. >> to 9 months of nightly closures, a plan are repeating traffic lanes 2, 3, the 2 senate traffic lanes on both eastbound and westbound directions of i-80 and officials are strongly advising people to plan their routes before they head out advance to revisit those closures and detours. once more. you can go online to kron 4 dot com reporting to be justice. back to you. >> tiffany, thank you so much for your coverage. all right. well, las vegas now one step closer to getting a baseball stadium for the a's built at the site of the tropicana. but it's not a done deal yet. john langeler takes a look at the next steps. >> we hope that happens pretty soon. we think that it well, the next step for the a's is major league baseball proving its move to las vegas. so far that meeting has not been scheduled. lbc va executiv

director steve hill says that for our end of the deal, a lot of details still have to be hammered out. we have to go through the stadium authority process where >> we started development agreement, a lease not relocation agreement. legislation gives the stadium authority 12 months and then we have the ability to extend for 6 months to get this deal done about 60 document had to be signed for allegiant stadium. >> and hill says he expects a similar number for a baseball stadium. one of the biggest will be the community development agreement committing the players to events like youth clinics, a committee of 7 people will oversee that. look at appointed by the governor, senate majority leader, speaker of the assembly, clark county and the stadium authority. and all those steps don't get done in time. all of these steps have to happen. if they than this move doesn't happen. but does las vegas need the a's? i'd say more than that. we need the stadium. we need to vent. we know the lbc va that there events that we're turning around that are not major league baseball.

chilly start to the morning. at least if you're a by the coast in san francisco. let's check in now at bar for more what we need to know this weekend. good morning, dave. well, good morning, stephanie. good morning, everybody. and we're seeing the same thing too little inland. here's a shot from san jose state. got kind of the shredded stratus right above us. got this low in our backyard. >> providing us with some cooling and clouds temperature check for you most. the readings in the 60's almost universally sub some 50's hanging down here to the south san carlos palo alto, also half moon bay. checking in at 59. now that cloud cover looks like that's going to stay around just about all day today, although we'll get some breaks going on here. so will be more optimistic and kind of say variable clouds. you might see some of those pasty white skies really brighten up a little bit here. just a touch. we'll see that in the afternoon hours here. but we have the spotty shower activity just about everywhere. that's today. tomorrow looks like we're getting a little better clearing on that front. but we still have that risk a few spotty showers and i don't know if you saw but more activity up and around tahoe

looks better for the chance of afternoon evening. thundershowers drill tomorrow afternoon. but after that, everybody clears out for the monday holiday. it looks like you can see some hints of this as we get into the wee hours of the overnight, clearing out the atmosphere off towards the east on the home front. this just this typical marine layer here that will mix out for the afternoon, putting it all together this weekend. variable clouds, a few spotty showers. we've got to get that in there. mild temps with 70's for the bay near 80 in lynn sweet of the mild temps to and we hold on to them for the holiday on monday. but this go around. we'll see that much bluer skies at work here, turning mostly sunny and nice now into next week. it's more the sunshine, the local funding to part, but our temperatures will hold pretty steady. we don't see any he bumps or heat spikes coming our way. so around 90 or so for thursday and friday today, again, some early drizzle variable cloud. san francisco put us down for 70 74 going on for oakland. 76 meanwhile, for san jose, again, those far east bay reaches you may scratch into around 80 or so.

>> all right. welcome back. now on the kron 4 morning news. the labor day weekend. it means a very busy weekend for travel that's in full swing. and meantime, covid cases we're starting to see an uptick in those numbers and the chp is on maximum enforcement on bay area roads until monday night's they are keeping an eye out for traffic violations and people driving under the influence. good morning. welcome back to the couple morning news. happy saturday to you. start off this half hour with a look at our forecast. dave spahr in the weather center with more on what we need to know, right, dave? well, yeah, good morning, stephanie. good morning, everybody. and we've been talking about kind of cloudy skies. we're dealing with all that. we do see some breaks already happening. >> but they'll fill in a little bit in the afternoon. so variable clouds, probably the fairest and maybe even optimistic way of looking for it. so just plan on considerable clouds today and dodging maybe a couple little sprinkles here and there just for good measure. now, here's

what we've got going on right now from the south bay. we're taking a look at san jose state just to give you an idea. the extension of this cloud cover. although again, it's breaking up in some spots here. the breakdown today, again, variable clouds going on for your afternoon. look at those mild temperatures. well, in that in the middle 70's, it looks like by 2 o'clock and that will probably hold into sunday as well. current readings are mostly in the 60's weather along the east bay shoreline or inland. also up to the north bay, some chilly 50's hanging on to the coast a little bit. 57 going on for half moon bay and san carlos. 58 at the a's ballpark today versus the angels 107, game time. temperatures and about 70 variable clouds and mild little bit of west southwest wind at 10 highs today. we expect about 80 going on for concord, 77, for antioch, with plenty of 70's. meanwhile, up to the north bay next couple of days. there you have it monday. the skies open up for mostly sunny skies. get used to that for the balance of the week ahead with only a gradual warming of temperatures. we have a closer

look at that in your 4 zone forecast all coming up in a bit 70. all right, dave, thank you. >> the food and drug administration approved narcan for over-the-counter purchase back in march. but now there seems to be some confusion over what that means. kron four's rob nesbitt explains. >> is narcan available here over the counter? how much is not over-the-counter. i first went to a walgreens and san francisco to try to get dark. and so you a prescription to get it over the counter here. i was told that the pharmacists could write a prescription for me to get same day. same thing at a safeway pharmacy. >> it's not going to see is prescription only nor has now. director of overdose prevention policy and strategy for the national harm reduction coalition. mary scylla. >> explain how states like california started making narcan available at pharmacies. do what's called standing orders basically said we know it's a prescription, but we're going to have somebody at the state level say it is broad scale prescribed for anyone who wants to go to a pharmacist

little higher. and that's what we're trying to tackle. we're trying to. reduce. >> well, last labor day weekend, the chp says 52 people died in crashes and officers arrested more than 900 people for dui on california roadways. >> and it was a busy day across bay area airports, of course, because of labored a weekend taking a live look now at sfo looking just a tiny bit overcast out there. but things look to be clearing up. officials are expecting to see close to 600,000 travelers this weekend. this labor day weekend expected to be the 3rd busiest holiday weekend of the year. so far. so plan accordingly. and oakland airport is expecting more than 200,000 passengers to pass through so far. officials say they been managing it all but arriving at least 2 hours ahead of time is recommended. so plan accordingly. as that airport expecting more than

honoring the life of a woman who died after suffering a brain injury at a high school football game force. dan thorn was there from mountain view. high school's first game since that tragedy. >> it's an emotional night for mountain view high school football. it's the squad's first game after teen mom, lucinda daniels died from a brain injury last week. it was very unexpected. so sad like i feel so bad for family as the spartans took the field danielson dylan, who was injured last week was seen nursing a broken heart and a broken leg. family friend in fellow student brady gilbert says daniels loved her boys and the team. she was awesome. she was feeling like one of the greatest mom. the support she never missed a the daniels family has been asking for privacy at this time, but they're asking for the community to keep them in their prayers. daniels has been also shared with principal kipp glazer that after daniel's death at the hospital, she still giving

detained was offered treatment, but most refused. police also arrested 300 suspected drug dealers and they seized large amounts of drugs, including fentanyl. the city's medical examiner says between january and july, 473 people died from drug overdoses in the city. in oakland. a shooting victim is in the hospital after police found them early friday morning near 14th and webster streets. not far from lake merritt. police have not released any information about the shooter yet. meantime, oakland is at risk of losing its state funding for its 9-1-1, emergency system. humphries says it made explains. >> the city of oakland has another 9-1-1, emergency on its hands. this one involves opd finding a response that will keep state funding for emergency dispatch by complying with cal oes response requirements. the california office of emergency management has now given the oakland police department a

deadline to call answer times into compliance. this is after opd recently failed to meet a 30 day deadline to provide a call. answer improvement plans. people's lives are at risk. when these regulations are not complied the state emergency telephone number account funding stipulates that 90% of the time 9-1-1, calls must be answered within 15 seconds. however, according to cal oes, opd is only hitting the 15 second mark for answering 9-1-1. calls. 46% of the time, which is alarming for oakland, public safety advocate, marlene sacks who has been keeping a close eye on this issue for several years. and my position is that heads should be rolling for the fact that these problems have not been corrected. after all this time, the city consistently makes excuses. but where there's a will, there's a way and this problem is an emergency city of oakland's public information office sent kron four's

restaurants, resorts, a clothing brand and several food items like salad dressing. a statement shared on its official website said buffett passed away peacefully last night surrounded by family friends, music and his dogs. the statement did not say what buffett died from. he was 76 years old. and this morning, driverless car company cruise is refuting the san francisco fire department's claim that 2 cruise cars stalled blocking an ambulance carrying a critically injured patient. that incident happened back on august 14th. the fire department claims the person died about 20 minutes after getting to the hospital. this morning crews responded to the allegations saying in a statement, the ambulance behind the autonomous vehicle had a clear to pass the a v as other as other vehicles, including another ambulance proceeded to do as soon as the victim was loaded into the ambulance, the amoulance left the scene immediately and was never impeded from doing so by the a v. a community is

honoring the life of a woman who died after suffering a brain injury at a high school football game. kron four's dan thorn was there from mountain view. high school's first game since that tragedy. >> it's an emotional night for mountain view. high school football. it's the squad's first game after teen mom, lucinda daniels died from a brain injury last week. it was very unexpected. so sad. like i feel so bad their family as the spartans took the field danielson dylan, who was injured last week was seen nursing a broken heart and a broken leg. family friend in fellow student brady gilbert says daniels loved her boys and the team. she was awesome. she was feeling like one of the greatest mom. the support she never missed a the daniels family has been asking for privacy at this time, but they're asking for the community to keep them in their prayers. daniels has been also shared with principal kipp glazer that

after daniel's death at the hospital, she still giving life to others. and he said her organ donation has already saved >> 4 lives it is something they he wants people to know and encourage other people to consider becoming organ >> well, another family friend has started a gofundme to help the daniels family during this tragic time. and as of this report, it is raised more than $130,000 reporting in mountain view. dan thorn kron, 4 news. >> i know police are investigating a crash that killed a teenager. it happened around friday morning near columbus and redwood parkway. police say a teen driver lost control of the pickup truck hit the center median and rolled over. the driver was taken to a hospital with injuries. a passenger died at the scene. police say drugs or alcohol do not appear to be a factor. francisco police say they've arrested 450 drug users in the first 3 months of the city's crackdown on open

air drug dealing. they say every person detained was offered treatment. but most refused. police also arrested 300 suspected drug dealers. they seized large amounts of drugs, including fentanyl. the city's medical examiner says between january and july, 473 people died from drug overdoses in the city. in oakland. a shooting victim is in the hospital after police found them early friday morning near 14th and webster streets. not far from lake merritt. police have not released any information about the shooter yet. and meantime, oakland is at risk of losing its state funding for its 9-1-1, emergency system. kron four's haaziq has more. >> the city of oakland has another 9-1-1, emergency on its hands. this one involves opd finding a response that will keep state funding for emergency dispatch by complying with cal oes response requirements. the california office of emergency management has now given the

oakland police department a deadline to call answer times into compliance. this is after opd recently failed to meet a 30 day deadline to provide a call. answer improvement plans. people's lives are at risk. when regulations are not complied the state emergency telephone number account funding stipulates that 90% of the time 9-1-1, calls must be answered within 15 seconds. however, according to cal oes, opd is only hitting the 15 second mark for answering 9-1-1. calls. 46% of the time, which is alarming for oakland, public safety advocate, marlene sacks who has been keeping a close eye on this issue for several years. and my position is that heads should be rolling for the fact that these problems have not been corrected. after all this time, the city consistently makes excuses. but where there's a will, there's a way and this problem is an emergency city of oakland's

public information office sent kron four's statement regarding this issue. it reads in part, quote. >> the oakland police department has identified 2 cal oes that the primary contributing factor to call answer times as lack of staffing. >> there are currently 63 dispatch call taking staff 14 vacancies on quote, cal oes has given the oakland police department 12 months to bring 9-1-1, call answer times into compliance. has it made you kron 4 >> and electric vta bus catches fire in san jose sending 2 vta mechanics to the hospital. it happened friday afternoon in the vta maintenance yard. officials say 2 mechanics pushed the burning bus out of the maintenance building so that the flames did not spread. the 2 were taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation injuries. all of the tea's fleet of battery power buses have now been taken out of service while the agency investigates what happened. and happening right now for those planning

also sometimes the pasty white skies will thin out a little bit will be very bright at that. so. >> i mentioned earlier, the sunshine to still make it through. the ultraviolet rays will still make it through to so we'll get that for the plants at least. but here's a looks like the east bay shoreline. again, quite a bit of cloud cover. we have to make note of considerable throughout the day variable throughout the day and location. temperatures are holding pretty much universally in the 60's for right now. this is a little bit more mild than we had from yesterday morning. this time. that's due to the fact of the cloud cover overhead. and here's our low. that's right here. it's kind of cut off low doesn't have much moisture to work with. but the regular mechanics of lifting are doing the trick here with the moisture around town. so it's utilizing that and we will see a couple little spotty showers. scattered thunder showers up in the mountains. however, but more active that looks like on your sunday. want to make note of that. if you're headed up there for your sunday spotty, meanwhile, continues here in the bay. but it looks like a little bit the way of some better clearing trying to happen tomorrow afternoon. now, by that point,

you can see the moisture just erode away as we go into sunday night into monday. it's just a marine layer and we go into a mostly sunny mode. but hold on to those mild temperatures to for the weekend. looks like mild 70's for the bay 80's well inland. let's continue this into your monday, turning it mostly sunny and nice. and for next week at sunny with minor warming, getting up to about 90 well inland thursday into friday. well, it's still the summer months. technically, i suppose we've got 70 san francisco, 74 for open. 76. meanwhile, 4 san jose, everybody looking at those variable clouds and here it is on the big board, different colors, ation the reds kind of a way. it's not more oranges and yellows in the far east bay with upper 70's 80 for concord 70's. meanwhile, up to the north bay and here you have the next couple of days negotiating of cloud cover turning mostly sunny. it looks like by monday, 83 building to around 90 towards the end of the week. so not too bad. a kind of start september. we know something get crazy. triple digits in all that. we don't have that for the holiday weekend. that's pretty all right. well, thank you so much for all right. well, turning now to washington

where president biden celebrated a positive jobs report from august. >> washington correspondent alexandra limon explains what those numbers mean. >> and it's not just the biden administration that celebrating overall. most economists say the data from this report does paint a positive picture. >> and today we have the strongest economy in the world. the libor department says american employers added 187,000 jobs to the economy in august. people are coming off the sidelines getting back to their workplace. but ej and tony, from the conservative heritage foundation says the numbers aren't as good as they appear. i don't think a soft landing is in the cards. look, you cannot spend borrow and print trillions upon trillions of dollars and not expect negative consequences. the number of jobs added was a modest gain from last month and not the red hot growth we saw last year, which is what the federal reserve wants in order to cool down the economy and lower inflation and

economist adt from bank of america says the report is a good sign. was a goldilocks board. he adds that the growth in jobs is driven by prime age women. joining the workforce at record high levels. acceptance of hybrid work or work from home has made easier or more. >> women to participate more in the labor force. the unemployment rate ticked up from 3.5% to 3.8%. but says that's not a concern that although unemployment rate didn't increase that increased good reasons and the sense that labor force participation expended significant. >> the jobs report also found that more people are now actively looking for work in washington. alexandra limon. >> and we are getting a better look now at the plans for a new proposed city in solano county. it's called california forever. the firm behind the project unveiled renderings of what it might look like. kron

process where >> we started development agreement to lease not relocation agreement. legislation gives the stadium authority 12 months and then we have the ability to extend for 6 months to get this deal done about 60 document had to be signed for allegiant stadium. >> and hill says he expects a similar number for a baseball stadium. one of the biggest will be the community development agreement committing the players to events like youth clinics, a committee of 7 people will oversee that. look at appointed by the governor, senate majority leader, speaker of the assembly, clark county and the stadium authority. and all those steps don't get done in time. all of these steps have to happen. if they than this move doesn't happen. but does las vegas need the a's would save more than that? we need the stadium. we need the venue. we know the lbc va that there events that we're turning around that are not major league baseball. >> that need a venue to playing in that stadium is going to be a perfect place for those events. hill says he expects everything to go smoothly and baseball to be on the strip in 2028.

four's rob nesbitt explains. >> is narcan available here over the counter? how much is not over-the-counter. i first went to a walgreens and san francisco to try to get dark. and so you a prescription to get it over the counter here. i was told that the pharmacists could write a prescription for me to get same day. same thing at a safeway pharmacy. not going to see is prescription only nor director of overdose prevention policy and strategy for the national harm reduction coalition. mary scylla, explain how states like california started making narcan available at pharmacies to what's called standing orders basically said we know it's a prescription, but we're going to have somebody at the state level say it is broad scale prescribed for anyone who wants to go to a pharmacist and and it's not cheap, depending on your around $100. according to cilla that caution come down to around $40. >> when over-the-counter

pre-pandemic norms. that's raising concerns over covid spread kron four's. dan kerman spoke with travelers and medical experts about embracing travel and reducing risk. >> it's the gray skies and random sprinkles. packed jets were taking off and landing at sfo. in fact, over the four-day labor day holiday. as passenger travel u.s. climb back to 93% of what it was before the pandemic in 2019, we've been doing a lot more traveling. absolutely. it's your first time >> sir, first time come back to since the pandemic has. so i'm really excited to be get back into moves, slaying of things and get going moving around. does. travis amphan that return to normal attitude translated into few people wearing masks inside the terminal at sfo. >> despite the continued rise in covid cases and hospitalizations across the u.s., i don't personally take any precautions were vaccinated and a pretty

comfortable flight vaccinated and just doing our thing. and i guess we found that like our family members have gotten covid recently who've been vaccinated. it's a cold. and so i guess we're not as frightened by it anymore. like where we're looking at cold, not dying. so it's not. so back to your behavior. medical experts say while it's true, most people are not getting very sick. the risk still exists, especially for those 65 and older. and those immunocompromised has such. they say if you are traveling this holiday weekend, there are steps you can take to protect yourself and loved ones. i carry my master and my pocket. i think some high-risk settings right now might be public transit. >> in the airport, particularly when you board and deplane not so much when in the plane except when somebody is coughing on you so that i a mask in case that's happening. doctors also say if you do get cold like symptoms are worse, it's a good idea to test that way. you won't inadvertently passed covid on to someone at higher risk.

close to 600,000 travelers this weekend. the labor day weekend is expected to be the 3rd busiest holiday weekend of the year. so far. and oakland airport is expecting more than 200,000 driver passengers rather so far. officials say they have been able to manage most of those crowds. but they are advising that people arrive at least 2 hours ahead of time. just in case and jose's airport expecting more than 21,000 people. this long weekend, domestic travel up 4% this year. and with numbers like these travelers in san jose told us that they are taking the steps to make sure that they catch their flight on time. and if you plan to drive quite a bit this holiday weekend, well, it's going to cost you at the pump. average price per gallon statewide is 5.25. that's a quarter more than it was a month ago in the bay area. the most expensive gas can be found in napa county. 5.41. a gallon cheapest average is in solano county 5.26. a gallon. gas

prices added to the fact that commutes for california workers are getting more expensive. a new study from the state chamber of commerce says the average san francisco commute. it's just under an hour and a yearly commute. price comes to more than $12,000. in fact, the city top the list of the country's top 5, most expensive commute cities. and the privacy policy at the web site, formerly known as twitter. we'll let the site collect biometric data from its users. that could include fingerprints and facial recognition. elon musk says x will add video and voice calls to the platform but did not say when or whether the privacy changes were connected to those upcoming features. the updated policy also allows acts to collect job and education history. so something to keep in mind when you think about signing up. officials in contra costa county, a warning residents about an increase in west nile virus cases. they say they found 11 more dead
