more on the area you'll want avoid. >> from the area's local news station, you're watching the kron. 4 morning news at 7. >> good morning. thank you so much for joining us here on the kron. 4 morning news. i'm stephanie lin. >> it is saturday september the 23rd and let's get your day started with a look at the weather with dave sphar. good morning, dave. well, good morning, stephanie. good morning, everybody. what we're still hanging with a spare the air day going on for today, promising in the forecast, though, that things should improve as early as tomorrow. one of the reasons why, well, we have a system in our backyard. it's going to deliver us a little bit weather as we get into early next week, very early for fall-like season. >> to be seeing actually some activity going on. so hopefully a nice sign, some things to come. here's a live shot of the east bay horeline going on here for you. kind of that overcast fog situation, a very familiar with. that's what we're talking about. way up north here. that's going to be a player for monday tuesday. so pencil that in to the south a little bit with some tropical or subtropical moisture. you can see the 4 corner back to our fog. that

clears out pretty quickly this morning and all locations even along the coast. we should see a nice opening up 50's and 60's going on in the east bay. we've got 43 in a bottle. 55 for half moon bay and 56 for san jose. the contrast for you where a couple degrees behind in some selective spots, particularly up in the north bay for today, we're going to call it mostly sunny as we get to the afternoon. 65 by 11 by 2 at 74. now, tomorrow looks like we're going to be negotiating with quite a bit of cloud cover going on. this is moisture aloft now. and there is that little chance we might start to see some showers as we get into monday night into tuesday morning forecast in 70. all right, dave, thank you. >> small business owners san francisco's inner richmond district are asking for help after burglars hit several restaurants and shops kron four's. dan thorn spoke with one store owner who says more police are needed. >> shattered glass doors and emptied cash registers. hamburger haven is just one of several businesses to be

burglarized in the inner richmond. the clements street restaurant was hit wednesday morning. i think dave chappelle was the first person that said the city needs a batman and a lot of people mentioning that, you know, and what saying is that we need any cause. we don't have a police force ruse fall. hottie says the burglars seem to strike around 3 to 6 in the morning, mostly during the week. he believes that if the police department assigned officers to patrol the area at those hours, local businesses could be saved. you don't have the chase thing. one, europe find any crime. we just asking for a little bit of deterrence. this week, mayor london breed announced public safety ambassadors will be deployed to clements street between our and park presidio. the program involves having retired police officers patrol merchant corridors, but it's still unclear what hours those ambassadors will be working. we want the police to know that. we're not the ones that asked for defund. we're the ones that have always been serving. you. >> and have always shown you respect and we want you to protect that's all we ask. >> reporting in san francisco,

dan thorn kron. 4 news. >> in the north, a vallejo police are investigating a shooting that killed a toddler. police say it happened yesterday morning at a home on all hambre avenue just south of 7.80. the boy's family rushed him to the hospital where doctors were not able to save him. police are still working to figure out what led up to the shooting. in the east bay and oakland skate shop is targeted by burglars. this is the second time this has happened to the business kron four's ella sogomonian met with the owners to talk about this issue. >> surveillance video shows 4 people breaking into a ball skate shop in oakland on sunday at 06:00am. the store was fully stocked in the thieves made a mess of the place as they took off with most of the merchandise store owner said nearly all of the boards were taken off of the wall. most of the clothes were stolen and the cash register was emptied. it's estimated the loss along with repairs and installing new security

measures could cause some about $15,000. quite the blow for the group who opened this shop at 15th and webster streets in downtown last year. we're not rich. none of us are age. we all were on the size. this is this least something we both mean. terrence, we're here because we want to be here. we're not here because we're trying to make helen money. >> and this isn't the first time we spoke with a skate shop owners last summer. >> when they fell victim to their first burglary since sunday installed metal bars onto the glass front door, which was shattered the last time. but it didn't keep the criminals from coming in again. >> definitely heard feels like you know, definitely the opposed to the first because, you know, it's a shop. the reason for such a high costs for securing the store, they explain. is it a ball skate shop is located within a historical building. so they're restricted from putting up a gate on the outside. they instead have to choose a custom designed to install a gate on the inside donations have been pouring in to help them out with some well wishes coming from.

>> the skating community as far away as spain in the newsroom. ella sogomonian kron. 4 news. >> happening right now if you plan to travel across the south bay this weekend, caltrans is closed. northbound highway 87 for major pavement repair work. >> the road is expected to reopen by monday morning at 5. the next closure is expected october. 20th that will affect southbound lanes on highway 87. the oakland a's host their final home game home games of the season. but as kron four's dan kerman reports, diehard fans are still holding out hope, but the team will not move to las vegas. >> be it the reverse boycott game. the sell shirts or the billboards a's fans have not let up and their fight to keep the team in oakland. now another line of attack. >> from my standpoint, i think it's just like it's clear to me that that sort of our last mary. >> help gordon, the former a's hot dog vendor known as how the hot dog guy proposes. a's fans redirect some of the money. they would spend an a's games and send it to schools

over stadiums. that's the nevada teachers union group now gathering signatures to get an initiative on next year's ballot to reverse a move by nevada lawmakers to give the a's 380 million dollars in taxpayer money to build a new stadium in las vegas. makes sense for me that that every a's fan think about how much money they. >> the a's are worth to them and how much money spend on the a's and you consider just donating a portion of that to this, to, to stadia schools over stadiums and putting less money in the pockets of a's owner john fisher doesn't stop there. group, the oakland 68 swans fans to boycott saturday's game against the tigers. the 68 scores going. so the saturday's game. >> we're going the golden score, which oakland of we friendly restaurant bar to support them. and then we're asking people to go watch the

long it's been going on. go ahead and join us in this shot and why this event has been going let's actually move. you guys in closer. yes, i think that is a lovely a few little bit closer. lovely, ok, let's talk about this. is that going on today? >> how long as we we're excited for today's event. since 2015, we've done the alameda county stroll enroll. >> through niles canyon, a great chance for community memoers to connect with nature to visit with one another. you can hear the creek in the background which you can't normally hear when you're driving through. but we also have a ton vendors and information booths from all county agencies a great chance to just get out here and get some information. >> and it's such a beautiful area. why was this? i guess events create it. this event was started back in 2015 by my predecessor, the late supervisor, richard, by it. >> he really felt the need to encourage county partners to come together along with east bay regional parks to start a trail. so this event is really targeted for people to see the

beauty of the canyon and to just encourage all community partners to come together and actually get the trail built. so this is an opportunity for people to get close to nature and just see the valley of being outside connecting with one another. we're going to have lots of community events here. and in terms of community nonprofits and government agencies. >> and how can people learn more when it comes to that trail effort and the work that has been going into i think they can contact my office or supervisor. mark has his office. it's posted on our website as one of our capital projects. it's a long-term capital project. so this event, effort will be going on for a while until we get the funding. it's not cheap, but it's worth it. >> you know, we were talking a little bit earlier about the vendors are it's going to be here. all sorts county agencies, a really nice opportunity for people to come by and i guess learn more. absolutely want the public to know about the services that are available for their families. so please come out. talk to all of our vendors, have a good meal and join

>> happening today, it's the 39th annual california coastal cleanup day. the event brings out thousands of people to clean up trash on our beaches. organizers are hoping the volunteer count gets back to pre-pandemic levels. there are more than 700 official cleanup sites statewide. most bay area

beaches are on that list, including ocean beach stinson beach baker beach and beaches in the headlines event. organizers say the amount of garbage that builds up on our coastlines is always shocking. >> we do run cleanups throughout the year, but this is the one time each year that we ask everybody in california, no matter where you may live, it turned out to your local waterway and clean up whatever you can find before the winter rains come. once those rains come, all of that trash will float. it will travel and eventually it will pollute our ocean there. there are lots of usual, unusual item to unfortunately like laptop computers, wedding dresses, things that might tell a story what person who lost it. was thinking, but the really weird does pop up every now and again, we found a a car hollowed out pumpkin that was filled with hard boiled one year in los angeles county.

>> today's cleanup runs from 09:00am to noon. organizers hope to clean up 200 tons of trash by the end of it all. well, taking a i know that's a laptop and that's going to be my head all day and like that if you knew the you know, anyway, yeah, very, very lots of unusual things down by the beach. but people should take measures to clean up after them. so, yeah, you they're saying from 9 told 12 so a lot of cloud cover could be a little chilly. so you know where the jack you saw people jackets on unfortunate probably won't see a lot of sunshine out there at that hour. but this afternoon, though, so be patient with >> good morning, stephanie. good morning, everybody. we do still have some of that fog kind of lingering in our backyard here a little bit. and some cloud cover tomorrow story is going to be different. that's going to be more aloft. cloud cover. so we're not going shake that off this afternoon. but this is all kind of homegrown, a marine layer level moisture here. and again, that will mix out for a generally mostly sunny day. here's the big system, though. this will be early next week. and you heard

him also say the winter rains which were waiting to come turn this fire season off. this is going bring us a little treat. it's a little bit the cocktail hour, maybe for a good winter coming our but looks pretty good. so get a little shot of early week rain. meanwhile, down in the desert southwest are getting treated to a little bit the way of some lower level or lower latitude moisture coming up from the south, ok, 50's off to the east bay for right now. 61 for hayward 50's and 40's up in the north bay. we got 56, san francisco also for san jose. back to apps. your show clearing out, looks like it's doing a good or better job of that right now and then into saturday or sunday, rather this we're talking about marine layer at the surface, but then a lot. we've got those scattered clouds to contend with. so kind of variable clouds is how will call your sunday not going to put you shape those off all day tomorrow. so sun and clouds mixture, temperatures will much the same. but this is what we're talking about as we get into monday night tuesday, little shot of some rain showers. so putting it all together today. got some

afternoon clearing and mild. so got to take care of that around the bay in the coast. it could be a little slow in the afternoon. maybe variable clouds tomorrow and breezy for everybody early in the week. early fall showers, yay and then clearing for tuesday and cool. and for the rest of the week, we do see the passage of a breeze front or 2 moving. really quickly, though, mild on those temperatures, lower 80's even well inland. we're looking at 70's covering the bay for today. 64 san francisco, slow afternoon clearing open at 68, gradual clearing get further down in the east bay should clear out a little quicker. and 76 for san jose and the big board upper 70's in the far east bay up in the north bay. we've got mid 70's in place to lower 70's again. the intrusion of cloud cover on your sunday monday night and into tuesday is our little shot of seeing some showers and, you know, step in the thing is worth crone about this because that's the first full week of and we've got the fall season still to get through for fire season. get little job like this. that's good. because after you get those offshore

winds, if you have some insulation, you're good to go. yeah, i will social media reminded me that it was this time last year and the year before that whether these major wildfires that we are learning different parts of the state. so part of that was also the monsoon. we've got the dry lightning stuff to we didn't have any problem with that as much to this week this year. so. >> but this is good to see this kind of stuff, too. so you need these little hits even if they're kind of nothing burgers, you still need a little help moisten up the region. yeah. glad to hear that. thank you so much to all right. well, in the north bay, police arrested 2 high school students allegedly found with a loaded gun. >> santa rosa police say the 15 year-old were taken into custody after police got a tip. students were planning a shooting at montgomery high school. >> police say one of the students had a previous arrest for having a concealed loaded handgun in a park earlier this year. both students were booked into juvenile hall. this is the latest in a series of problems at montgomery high. earlier this week, a student was arrested for bringing a fake gun onto

campus. and earlier this year, a student was fatally stabbed inside of a classroom. in sports, the forty-niners are undefeated after thursday night's game. but it's what happened in the stands that got a lot of attention. a viral video captured a brawl between several fans forces. you do and has that story. >> there was violence in the stands at levi's stadium during thursday night's 40 niner game against the new york giants. and aa you can see, it was recorded on cell phone video with the video. be good. you see 2 women fighting in the stairs of the aisles between the seats. a couple of guys get involved, pulling % hair, kicking and throwing punches judging by the clothing. it appears that these are forty-niners fans in this video who for some reason were fighting among themselves. no new york giants fans involved from what we see here. video also shows

onlookers standing up their seats watching this all play out some with their cell phones in their hands, recording them a this is just the latest that the violence between people attending a sporting event that levi stadium back in july. a soccer fan was injured and hospitalized following a stabbing incident while attending a gold cup soccer match between mexico and utah. i last forty-niners and raiders fans were also seen fighting across from levi stadium here inside this in and out burger following a preseason football game. officials at levi's stadium in the santa clara police department released a joint statement regarding safety and security that reads, quote, levi's stadium in the santa clara police department remain unwaveringly committed to stadium security and work collaboratively to create a safe environment for all we have 0 tolerance for violence of any kind. anyone engaging

in violent will be ejected from the stadium and potentially face a ban from future events and legal consequences just as the perpetrators did last night, quote. has let run for news? >> governor gavin newsom vetoed a bill that would have required a person to be present in self-driving trucks weighing more than 10,000 pounds. more than 1500 truck drivers in advocates took to the capitol tuesday to demand. newsom signed the bill, the california labor federation responded to the governor's veto, arguing the move will cost jobs and make the roadways more dangerous. governor newsom also vetoed a bill that would require judges to consider a parent's acceptance of their child's identity gender identity, rather in custody, dispute. in a statement, newsom said i appreciate the passion and values that led the authors, solano county democratic assembly member lori wilson to introduce this bill newsom went on to, quote, urge

>> president biden arrives in the bay area next week. the white house says he visits san francisco on tuesday for a meeting with the president's council of advisors and on science and technology. the president is also expected to attend to campaign events. well, the marriott marquis hotel in san francisco is on the hook for 20 million dollars. >> after a jury found the hotel failed to make accommodations for a long time. concierge worker. according to the lawsuit, the employee suffered a spinal cord injury in 2014 and had to use a cane prosthetics. he stopped being aboe to work after renovations made it hard to move in his work area. he quit in 2019 following the advice of his doctor. that worker is set to get 5 million dollars in pain and suffering damages and 15 million dollars in punitive damages. well, meantime, small business owners across oakland are set to demonstrate this after the

city failed to meet a critical deadline that would have given the city funds to fight retail crime. the strike is scheduled for this upcoming tuesday. it's it's being spearheaded by chinatown. community leader carl chan more than 200 businesses are expected to participate in this rally. and happening today, the city of martinez holds its first pride event. the celebrations kick off at the martinez waterfront from 11 to 2 people can expect live music activity, booths and free food and drinks. still ahead on the kron 4 morning news. how a local school celebrated the oldest ranger ever serve a national park. >> and as that the break for the weekend, you can check out the mid autumn festival in millbrae. it starts at 10 this morning featuring 150 food and art vendors also a kids zone with jump houses. this is free to attend.

>> now on the kron 4 morning news governor gavin newsom taking steps. he says will help protect homes in high fire risk areas. this is several insurance companies pull out of our state. and a deadly shooting at an east bay. carson are now being called a case of domestic violence. welcome back to the kron. 4 morning news. thank you for joining us. it start this half hour with a look at the forecast. dave spahr tracking those weather conditions for us right now. hey, dave. >> good morning, stephanie. good morning, everybody. and you know, we're just dealing with that morning fog and the spare the air day again today. it looks like it will improve into tomorrow and the rest of the week. it looks like one of the reasons why we have some weather traffic coming our way

already early in this fall like season. now for today, we're just dealing with this marine layer. it's going to mix out. we'll go into that mostly this afternoon. modest temperatures, though, but still at the ballpark for the oakland a's versus the tigers game. time 107, temps, upper 60's. not too bad. and we've got scattered clouds in cool with a west wind at around 10. so up to the north. that's what the excitement is. as you can see, that that's a frontal boundary will take a while to get here in its before it gets here. that means on monday we might even have some coastal drizzle working in the east bay shoreline to because of some thicker marine layer. that will be precursor to meanwhile, to the south that will notice some subtropical moisture. all right. 60's and 50's in the east bay. we've got 50's and 40's up north. 56, san francisco and also for san jose. looking ahead for today, turkey inland, sunny today, 74 goes on by 2 o'clock. so modest for the highs and looks pretty good into the fall like week. coming up ahead, we'll have more on that extended forecast. your 4 zone and a bit 70. >> all right, dave, thank you

continue our coverage on thursday's deadly shooting. a car service center in albany authorities calling it a case of domestic violence. kron four's gayle ong has more. the crime scene cleared at the toyota of berkeley service center a day after an employee was shot and killed at her workplace. you have. >> numerous witnesses that say they saw the suspect the woman, the alameda county sheriff's department called the shooting an act of domestic violence. according to police calls began coming in just before 11, 15 thursday morning. >> from people inside the dealership on east shore highway in albany. the berkeley police department arrived on scene. >> shortly after they were first on scene. they responded as mutual aid. they made entry into the building. >> and shots were fired according to berkeley mayor jesse arreguin. the suspect was shot and subdued by police. an employee tells kron 4. the incident happened on the second floor. bullet holes could be seen from the aftermath of the police

shooting. when you have situations where there are witnesses, you have to sort through, you their statements. >> all the statements that will follow from the officers involved and put that together to determine what actually place. on friday, there was a skeleton crew on duty helping customers pick up their cars. >> we're told grief counselors will be provided in the coming days. >> and that was kron four's. gayle ong reporting for us this morning. authorities have not yet released the name of the victim or her exact relationship with the shooter. mateo county is forming its first domestic violence taskforce following the deaths of several women kron four's. rob nesbitt has the details. >> mateo county is seeing an increase of domestic violence cases in homicides. the task force will work to figure out why and prevent future acts of violence. san mateo county supervisor noelia has become very familiar with the names of the women who have lost their lives to domestic violence. this year, francis liu many men wanting

>> event today a yes and yellow end. it is. and grace marie count and online fundraiser has been set up to help the family of use lopez hernandez. >> as well as francis liu cerro putting faces to the names of the 2 victims. i also had a chance to speak with elizabeth who rose, whose aunt grace marie kelly was killed just 3 weeks ago were struggling. and we're it's just it was a shock, complete shock and how it happened and the way she was murdered, according to the san mateo county da's office, kelly was shot to death by her boyfriend inside their daily city. home supervisor wants to stop the growing homicide list by forming the county's first domestic violence task force made up of 9 members working to remove the barriers that prevent victims from getting help focused on prevention. how we educate our community. how do we for support for people that that need it and deserve safety. >> core is the only organization based in san mateo county that provides

help to victims of domestic violence. charles heavily know from cora explained how often women and men fall victim. one in 4 women experience violence, one cent and then. >> it is like these are folks who reported. of course, there's always issues underreporting specially for male survivors. the new domestic violence taskforce will be made up of more than just those who work in domestic violence research and outreach. >> but also those who have been impacted and to have real lived experiences. people can be aware what to do with these type of situations. happen now to identify victim. >> because sometimes the victim going to know their victims or fear that the perpetrator, their views are going to hurt and they tell the truth. supervisor course, though, says the majority of women killed by domestic violence this year in san mateo county. we're latina women. she says that 25% of the population in san mateo county is latin acts as she wants to make sure the task force is reaching out to all communities of all languages. >> reporting in the newsroom. i'm rob nesbitt. kron. 4 news. >> in the east bay, oakland, police are investigating a deadly shooting near lake to

miss school. it happened just before 7.45. last night on broadway, the victim died at the scene. no word yet from authorities on a motive or possible suspect. in oakland. police are investigating a stabbing at a bart station. it happened after midnight friday morning at the 19th street station. the victim is expected to be okay. police arrested a suspect. 44 year-old tamir edwards, he's been booked into the santa rita jail. the city police department is offering free catalytic converter edging kits to the first 500 residents who sign up on the city's website. >> registered you get a confirmation email and be notified of when and where to pick up your kit. the hope is that these kids make it easier for authorities to find the owner of any stolen converters and prosecute those responsible for stealing them. a banana republic store in francisco's embarcadero center is closing its doors for good. the store's last day is today. the clothing company is

planning a new store, though, at union square in san francisco. that new location is set to open in october. and following historic wildfire. several major home insurance companies either limited or pause their business in california, leaving many people scrambling to find coverage. but as our capitol correspondent eytan wallace tells us, state leaders have a plan. they say will guarantee homeowners and fire risk areas remain insured. >> you're looking at an executive order just signed by governor gavin newsom for the governor. this document allows insurance commissioner ricardo lot of to rapidly take action in response to the state's growing homeowners insurance crisis. in the last year and a half 7 of the 12 major home insurance companies in california, including allstate, state farm and farmers insurance have either limited their business within the state or in some cases stop selling new policies altogether for homeowners living in some of california's most fire prone areas. insurance companies expressing

concerns they could face huge losses. should a major disaster like a wildfire destroyed homes and at-risk communities having a california that is not in trouble is not an option, but now insurance. commissioner ricardo, lara says new action and specifically a new deal with the major insurance companies will ensure they stay in the state and continue to covered. california an at-risk communities. this is when when it's a win for the industry and a win for consumers up until now, home insurance companies in the state could only look to the past when deciding how to set their policy prices. but under the new plan that would change insurance companies would be allowed to consider future environmental risks and climate change impacts when setting their prices. critics have been quick to argue the deal will lead to increased premiums for homeowners in at-risk communities. but lot of says the plan will guarantee all homeowners are protective. this is really a historic deal that puts us back on track it says to a place where getting much more availability of insurance for all insurance. consumers and

south of 7.80. the boy's family rushed him to the hospital, but doctors were not able to save him. police are still working to figure out what led up to that shooting. and in the east bay and oakland skate shop is targeted by burglars. this is the second time this has happened to the business. for sogomonian met with the owners to talk about this problem. >> surveillance video shows 4 people breaking into a ball skate shop in oakland on sunday at 06:00am. the store was fully stocked in the thieves made a mess of the place as they took off with most of the merchandise store owner said nearly all of the boards were taken off of the wall. most of the clothes were stolen and the cash register was emptied. it's estimated the loss along with repairs and installing new security measures could cause some about $15,000. quite the blow for the group who opened this shop at 15th and webster streets in downtown last year. we're not rich. none of us are

this roadway. this roadway is usually blocked off and it's only going to be allowed for cyclists and pedestrians at this point until 2 o'clock this afternoon. this is an effort by alameda county, an opportunity for people, the community to walk and bike safely through the canyon with friends and family. this is biannual event. the niles canyon stroll enroll event started back in 2015 by former by former supervisors richard, scott haggerty. you know, the goal is to create a class one trail through niles canyon. we spoke with supervisor haubert about the air for he tells us renderings have been made and they know how much is going to cause. going to take a group effort to complete this project. this walk is to show people the beauty of niles canyon the history and enjoy some nature on the saturday. >> it's a normally every day. a thoroughfare for travelers to get to and from work today. the road is closed down and it's a chance for people to stroll and roll literally walk a ride, a bike through niles

well, this saturday morning taking a live look now at walnut creek. that looks pretty hazy out there. lots of cars on the traffic not looking to impacted, but certainly looking like people are driving through some hazy conditions out there now, dave, is it correct to say that that looks like wildfire smoke? >> could be. we do have the spare the air today. now that's going the thing about it. that's actually an approved tomorrow and early into next week driven partially by this turbulence that we're getting because of a system dropping south. that's a little added benefit. we get from a little front coming south and certainly gives us some rain early because on the backside of these frontal system, our problem. the fall, the backside of the system's tends to be some drier air coming in offshore. looks like we will get some of that. but most of that looks to be concentrate in the central valley. but still, everybody looks like they have a chance of getting a shower here. here's a live picture. we have the east bay shoreline kind of a haze. and you saw reference earlier, some scattered fog clouds in place to there's the night sky. they provide the education. we need early into

the week. some subtropical moisture. meanwhile down south 50's in some lower 60's line up the east bay shoreline. 57 san jose 40's and 50's. meanwhile, up north now we clear out for the afternoon looks pretty even along the coast and tomorrow, not just the fog clouds, but also a lot some scattered clouds. this is in advance of the parent front. that's going to stay up to the north. so our sunday is going to be treated with this considerable cloud cover throughout the day. although temperatures should be much the same clearing out at night. but sunday night into monday might have some of that marine layer start to work. its magic seem like coastal drizzle, maybe in san francisco as well in the east bay shoreline. but then that should clear up for the afternoon. so for this weekend got afternoon clearing and mild conditions. once we take care of this morning, fog sunday, though, the variable clouds breezy here comes that front early fall showers. that's basically the monday tuesday to monday morning stuff. i mentioned that's the marine layer just hanging around and then late in the week at sunny and mild. we're going to stay in the 80's

day. >> the event brings out thousands of people to clean up trash on our beaches. organizers are hoping the volunteer count gets back to pre-pandemic levels. there are more than 700 official cleanup sites statewide. most bay area beaches are on that list, including ocean beach stinson beach. they could be beaches in the marin headlands event. organizers say the amount of garbage that builds up on beaches is always shocking. >> we do run cleanups throughout the year, but this is the one time each year that we ask everybody in california, no matter where you may live, it turned out to your local waterway and clean up whatever you can find before the winter rains come. once those rains come, all of that trash will float. it will travel and eventually it will pollute our ocean there. there are lots of usual, unusual item unfortunately like laptop computers, wedding dresses, things that might tell a story what person who lost it. was

thinking, but the really weird does pop up every now and again, we found a a car hollowed out pumpkin that was filled with hard boiled one year in los angeles county. >> all today's cleanup runs from 09:00am to noon. organizers hope to clean up 200 tons of trash by the end of it all. in the north bay, police arrested 2 high school students allegedly found with a loaded gun. santa rosa. police say the 15 year-old were taken into custody after police got a tip. students were planning a shooting at montgomery high school. police say one of the students had a previous arrest for having a concealed loaded handgun in a park earlier this year. both students were booked into juvenile hall. this is the latest in a series of problems at montgomery high. earlier this week, a student was arrested for bringing a fake gun onto campus. and earlier this year, another student was fatally stabbed inside of a classroom. in sports, the

forty-niners are undefeated after thursday night's game. but it's what happened in the stands that got a lot of attention. a viral video captured this brawl between several fans from forces. the comedian has that story. >> there was violence in the stands at levi stadium during thursday night's 40 niner game against the new york giants. and as you can see, it was recorded on cell phone video with the video be good. you see 2 women fighting in the stairs of the aisles between the seats. a couple of guys get involved, pulling hair, kicking and throwing punches judging by the clothing. it appears that these are forty-niners fans in this video who for some reason were fighting among themselves. no new york giants fans involved from what we see here. video also shows onlookers standing up their seats watching this all play out. >> some with their cell phones in their hands, recording them

a >> this is just the latest that the violence between people attending a sporting event that levi stadium. >> back in july, a soccer fan was injured and hospitalized following a stabbing incident while attending a gold cup soccer match between mexico and utah. i forty-niners and raiders fans were also seen fighting across from levi stadium here inside this in and out burger following a preseason football game. officials at levi's stadium in the santa clara police department released a joint statement regarding safety and security that reads, quote, levi's stadium in the santa clara police department remain unwaveringly committed to stadium security and work collaboratively to create a safe environment for all we have 0 tolerance for violence of any kind. anyone engaging in violent will be ejected from the stadium and potentially face a ban from future events and legal consequences just as the

limited their business within the state or in some cases stop selling new policies altogether for homeowners living in some of california's most fire prone areas. insurance companies expressing concerns they could face huge losses. should a major disaster like a wildfire destroyed homes and at-risk communities having a california that is not in trouble is not an option, but now insurance. commissioner ricardo, lara says new action and specifically a new deal with the major insurance companies will ensure they stay in the state and continue to covered. california is an at-risk communities. this is when wind. it's a win for the industry and a win for consumers. up until now, home insurance companies in the state could only look to the past when deciding how to set their policy prices. but under the new plan that would change insurance companies would be allowed to consider future environmental risks and climate change impacts when setting their prices. critics have been quick to argue the deal will lead to increased premiums for homeowners in at-risk communities. but lot of says the plan will

to the freeway entrance. but let me go and step out of the shot for you to. but you may see what is going on here. there's a lot of people out here enjoying the nature to today on the saturday nile, a canyon road or highway 84 has been blocked off until 2 o'clock this afternoon for this event, meaning no cars will be allowed on those roadways stretch of roadway until 2 o'clock this afternoon. this roadway is only going to be available or used by cyclists and pedestrians. so this is an effort by alameda county, an opportunity for people, the community to walk and bike safely through the canyon with friends and family. this is a biannual event. the niles canyon stroll enroll event started back in 2015 by a former former supervisors, richard, and scott haggerty. the goal is to create a class one trail through niles canyon. we spoke with supervisor help heard about the effort. he tells us renderings have been made and they know how much it's going to cause. it's going to take a group effort to complete this project. this walk is to show people the beauty of niles canyon, the history and to

farmers insurance have either limited their business within the state or in some cases stop selling new policies altogether for homeowners living in some of california's most fire prone areas. insurance companies expressing concerns they could face huge losses. should a major disaster like a wildfire destroyed homes and at-risk communities having a california that is not in trouble is not an option, but now insurance. commissioner ricardo, says new action and specifically a new deal with the major insurance companies will ensure they stay in the state and continue to covered. california an at-risk communities. this is when wind. it's a win for the industry and a win for consumers. up until now, home insurance companies in the state could only look to the past when deciding how to set their policy prices. but under the new plan that would change insurance companies would be allowed to consider future environmental risks and climate change impacts when setting their prices. critics have been quick to argue the deal will lead to increased premiums for homeowners in at-risk communities. but lot

forecast models here comes now before it gets here. it thickens up that marine layer so sunday night monday might have some of the coastal drizzle in all then monday night comes our front. now, this time of year, you don't usually get stuff like this coming in from the northwest like this. so this is nice to the side of things to come. there does appear to be in the back side. some offshore winds that will probably be off towards our east now, maybe solano county might be impacted by that, but most likely will be central valley. again, that will be after getting some rain. so that cpmight help give us some defense, too. with all of that. by wednesday, there is another weak front that passes. it just keeps our temperatures pretty much the same. we don't get much moisture out of it or any then next weekend looks like another system look out for 2. so things are looking up. checking your 4 zone forecast out comes in like this. 64 san francisco will do the lower 60's off towards the coast and afternoon clearing it looks like 70 for burning game. 72 foster city, palo alto at 74 in the south bay mid to some upper 70's. but lower 70's

again, we found a a car hollowed out pumpkin that was filled with hard boiled one year in los angeles county. >> organizers hope to clean up 200 tons of trash by the end of the day. in the north bay, police arrested 2 high school students allegedly found with a loaded gun. santa rosa. police say the 15 year-old were taken into custody after police got a tip. students were planning a shooting at montgomery high. police say one of the previous students had a previous arrest for having a concealed loaded handgun in a park earlier this year, both students were booked into juvenile hall. this is the latest in a series of problems at montgomery high school earlier this week, a student was arrested for bringing a fake gun onto campus. and earlier this year, another student was fatally stabbed inside of a classroom. the forty-niners are undefeated after thursday night's game. but it's what's happened in the stands that got a lot of attention. a viral video capturing a brawl

between several fans from forces. video has more on that. >> there was violence in the stands at levi's stadium during thursday night's 40 niner game against the new york giants. and as you can see, it was recorded on cell phone video with the video. be good. you see 2 women fighting in the stairs of the aisles between the seats. a couple of guys get involved, pulling hair, kicking and throwing punches judging by the clothing. it appears that these are forty-niners fans in this video who for some reason were fighting among themselves. no new york giants fans involved from what we see here. video also shows onlookers standing up their seats watching this all play out some with their cell phones in their hands, recording them a this is just the latest that the violence between people attending a sporting event that levi stadium. >> back in july, a soccer fan

was injured and hospitalized following a stabbing incident while attending a gold cup soccer match between mexico and utah. forty-niners and raiders fans were also seen fighting across from levi stadium here inside this in and out burger following a preseason football game. officials at levi's stadium in the santa clara police department released a joint statement regarding safety and security that reads, quote, levi's stadium in the santa clara police department remain unwaveringly committed to stadium security and work collaboratively to create a safe environment for all we have 0 tolerance for violence of any kind. anyone engaging in violent will be ejected from the stadium and potentially face a ban from future events and legal consequences just as the perpetrators did last quote. has let you run for news? >> governor gavin newsom
