so that means holiday parties so if you are entertaining, okay or you're going to a holiday party, i have some great recipes that are a little bit on the lighter side. okay. but definitely a ton of flavor. >> share with you a couple of taps and test. first one being what is kind of the rule when you go to the grocery store, don't go starving. okay. don't go there. when is true as you don't want to buy too much more than you need, right? ok? exactly. so maybe have a little snack earlier before you go to the party. so you're not there and see all this food fight and lose control. okay. so we have to have a strategy. so i share with you a few of my recipes. i'm the first one. i am so excited to share with it's my carrot, ginger soup. and i know you're thinking soup as an appetizer. still, i mean, it's nice and warm. and whenever you get to use a cute little cop, i say why not as cute. we're going
8:48 am
to take these cute little cups and i just made a carrot ginger soup as stephanie was super easy. it's just carrots, ginger, a little bit of veggie stock and some carrots excuse me, some onions to go with it. and i just took it down to it was nice and soft blended it. but a full color, it beautiful? and you know something for your friends that are vegetarian, maybe end. this is such a appetizer to happen because it's full of flavor. and i just topped it with a little bit of cilantro. in a couple pieces of pomegranate. but look how beautiful that is. and of course, you've got the tiny little spoons or actually you can just pick it up and drink it and so nice about it, too. i leave in a crock pots off to the side. so as i need to fill more bowles, i can do that, is really nice. so that is a fun one to have. kind of warm you up during the holidays is portion control. yes, right
8:49 am
there. smaller cup. so we're not going to get too crazy. and the next recipe i have for you shrimp and yes, yes, i do, too. and the holidays, we like to do shrimp everybody does the cocktail sauce. so i have a ponzi shrimp, which is so full of flavor it it's not from a it's not from a bottle. i made it myself. it's the low sodium soy sauce. i add some lemon juice, some orange juice, a little bit of sesame oil used canola oil so that it is nice you do friendly, you know with the calories and i let that go with a little bit of the sauce, which is a little spicy, which i know you can i do like a bit of a kick. nice to, so i like to put that in the big bull. i marinated earlier in the day and then i'll top it with a little bit of the basil, which is what's in the sauce to a decorated that we everybody knows what's inside. so that's a great one. you can put the ball over but you know something, it goes so
8:50 am
quickly if on fast. so, yeah, really delicious in nice, you know, but really at some nice color to with the green in there. yes, and that's what makes it so fun for the holidays. and then the next one i have >> you know, we have a lot of hors d'oeuvres that will have crackers or bread. yeah. if you can change it out stubble, like, say a green or red bell, pepper or even a cucumber. that is a good strategy. the have that way. you're not eating a lot of carbs, but a lot of freshness. and so this is a smoke salmon with a delicious sauce that i made. i use the greek yogurt instead you know, manny's. i put a little bit but says it could happen. okay. yes. and so i just put in this capers and dill because that goes so well with smoke salmon. yeah, i put the pick piece of smoked salmon on there. and i decorated wi h a little bit of that's cute. and it's so pretty and everyone can help
8:51 am
themselves. yeah, one of the time and think about it. you're not filling up on all those crackers through and then i'm sure it has a nice text role sort of crunch as well with the cucumber. you're not going exactly stephanie. you're not going to lose that crunch a with that delicious cucumber. and then this is fun for kids and adults. you know, we don't want to get sick during the holidays sometimes when we're all reaching for dips. yeah, this is a fun one that i started with my kids that i just pretty much do nowadays. just some fresh veggies and a cup like this. i puts the green goddess sauce that i made myself with again ok? and instead of dipping. what i'm going to do is i'm going add the sauce, let them drizzle their saw into the bowl into the cup. mean, and look at that way. they can dip all they want. but the kids love that. they, too, because they're dressed up for a party. they want to look nice that way. no one's double
8:52 am
dipping. true adults. the same thing they're not having to touch something. maybe they get a little bit. the sauce autumn so much easier. and how do you make this the the dressing from scratch the so this is my green goddess instead of the mail. i added the greek yogurt. a little bit of low fat sour cream and tons really fresh herbs. some dill some cilantro. i also put a little bit of lemon in there just to get the consistency. nice young, but it's nice and its bright, but it's not really heavy, which i love about so again, some of the strategy here that we're doing exactly. we've got the freshness. i always love to put out some fresh fruit as well. and why not make it look like a pretty yeah, that it's pretty. and people pick whatever fruit they want look at how pretty that gorgeous. and of course, i won't be the vineyard. mom, if we didn't have this beautiful spread but
8:53 am
not recommend something to drink of do it. so with all of this, i do definitely want to do a white you can do anything whether it's a white plan to 70 on blanc. pinot grigio that goes great with all these delicious flavors. but because it's a party, we want to elevate things. why not some sparkling? sparked a link it. so i have this sparkling and you can use whatever sparkling you like. but to make it a little bit more holiday, i'm just going to add. and if you want to decorate, yeah, pomegranate season. fun. is that just makes it look really pretty. they float to the top and they on and yes, come up to doubles, come up. and just that scores. we have to do a little cheers with all of let's do that. cheers to you before i i want to leave, but he one more thing. this is my christmas so okay. so that's he hears you so much less years. thank chairman. thank you for joining us this morning. and we'll be right back.

keep the 60's along the coast. 63 going on for a burlingame, but the same as yesterday mid 60's heading south as we can see in the south bay might get some upper 60's at that. that's where that's the most cloud intrusion that we really see going on. again, some of these mid level clouds are kind of mix out a little bit, but those high clouds will stick with u.s. east bay shoreline mid to lower 60's. but it's a little chilly in the east bay today. lower 60's. we are getting into winter now, although we're still technically immunological autumn. 64 for oakland. 59 berkeley. 64 vallejo. 62 fairfield, 63 napa considering some chilly numbers this morning in the upper 20's, not bad. 66 for santa rosa. check it out midweek. it's busy afterwards. still up in the air. exactly how that's going to come together, their their success of systems to watch out for. they will be cold. so it means mountain snows for tahoe with it all comes together. just perfect on that. so all right. so some good news for people who like to that's right. we've got that coming. okay. he's in his early. yeah. all right, dave, thank you. >> holiday season is in full
9:47 am
swing. and earlier today, the vineyard mom, leslie dabney joins us live on set to share some delicious, delicious recipes that you can cook up for your friends and family. >> good morning. thank you so much for having is a great morning when you're on set with us. thank you. and so tell it. walk us through what you brought today. well, you're right. we're in the full swing for the holidays. so that means holiday parties so if you are entertaining, okay or you're going to a holiday party, i have some great recipes that are a little bit on the lighter side. okay. but definitely a ton of flavor and share with you. a couple of taps and test. first one being what is kind of the rule when you go to the grocery store, don't go starving. okay. don't go there. when truth is you don't want to buy too much more than you need, right? ok? exactly. so maybe have a little snack earlier before you go to the party. so you're not there and see all this food fight and
9:48 am
lose control. okay. so we have to have a strategy. so i share with you a few of my recipes. i'm the first one. i am so excited to share with it's my carrot ginger soup. and i know you're thinking soup as an appetizer. but yeah, let's do it. i mean, it's nice and warm. and whenever you get to use a cute little cop, i say why not as cute. we're going to take these cute little caps. and i just made a carrot ginger soup as stephanie was super easy. it's just carrots, ginger, a little bit of veggie stock and some carrots excuse me, some onions to go with it. and i just took it down to it was nice and soft blended it. but full color, it beautiful? and you know something for your friends that are vegetarian, maybe end. this is such a appetizer to happen because it's full of flavor. and i just topped it with a little bit of cilantro. in a couple pieces of pomegranate. but look how beautiful that
9:49 am
is. and of course, you've got the tiny little spoons or actually you can just pick it up and drink it and so nice about it, too. i leave in a crock pots off to the side. so as i need to fill more bowles, i can do that, is really nice. so that is a fun one to have. kind of warm you up during the holidays is portion control. yes, right there. smaller cup. so we're not going to get too crazy. and the next recipe i have for you shrimp and yes, yes, i do, too. and the holidays, we like to do shrimp and everybody does the cocktail sauce. so i have a ponzi shrimp, which is so full of flavor. i it's not from a it's not from a bottle. i made it myself. it's the low sodium soy sauce. i add some lemon juice, some orange juice, a little bit of sesame oil used canola oil so that it is nice you do friendly, you know, with the calories. and i let that go with a bit of the
9:50 am
sauce, which is a little spicy, which i know you can i do like a bit of a kick. nice to, so i like to put that in the big bull. i marinated earlier in the day and then i'll top it with a little bit of the basil, which is what's in the sauce to a decorated that we everybody knows what's inside. so that's a great one. you can put the ball over but you know something, it goes so quickly. is on fast? so, yeah, really delicious in nice, you know, but really at some nice color to with the green in there. yes, and that's what makes it so fun for the holidays. and then the next one i have >> you know, we have a lot of hors d'oeuvres that will have crackers or bread. yeah. if you can change it out stubble, like, say a green or red bell, pepper or even a cucumber. that is a good strategy. the have that way. you're not eating a lot of carbs, but a lot of freshness. and so this is a smoke salmon with a delicious sauce that i made. i
9:51 am
use the greek yogurt instead you know, manny's. i put a little bit but says it could happen. okay. yes. and so i just put in this capers and dill because that goes so well with smoke salmon. yeah, i put the pick piece of smoked salmon on there. and i decorated with a little bit of that's cute. and it's so pretty and everyone can help themselves. yeah, one of the time and think about it. you're not feeling up on all those crackers i'm sure it has a nice text role sort of crunch as well with the cucumber. you're not going exactly stephanie. you're not going to lose that crunch a with that delicious cucumber. and then this is fun for kids and adults. you know, we don't want to get sick during the times we're all reaching for dips. yeah, this is a fun one that i started with my kids that i just pretty much do nowadays. just some fresh veggies and a cup like this. i puts the green goddess sauce
9:52 am
that i made myself with again joker, ok? and instead of dipping. what i'm going to do is i'm going add the sauce, let them drizzle their sauce into the bowl into the cup. mean, and look at that way. they can dep all they want. but the kids love that. they, too, because they're dressed up for a party. they want to look nice that way. no one's double dipping true adults. the same thing they're not having to touch something. maybe they get a little bit. the sauce autumn so much easier and how to make this the the dressing from scratch the so this is my green goddess instead of the mail. i added the greek yogurt. a little bit of low fat sour cream and tons really fresh herbs. some some cilantro. i also put a little bit of lemon in there just to get the consistency. nice young, but it's nice and its bright, but it's not really heavy, which i love about so again, some of the strategy here that we're doing exactly. we've got the
9:53 am
freshness. i always love to put out some fresh fruit as well. and why not make it look like a pretty that it's pretty. and people pick whatever fruit they want look at how pretty that gorgeous. and of course, i won't be the vineyard. mom, if we didn't have this beautiful spread but not recommend something to drink was doing so with all of this. i do definitely want to do a white you can do anything whether it's a white plan to 70 on blanc. pinot grigio that goes great with all these delicious flavors. but because it's a party, we want to elevate things. why not some sparkling? yes some sparkling for it. so i have this sparkling and you can use whatever sparkling you like. but to make it a little bit more holiday, i'm just going to add. and if you want to decorate, yeah, on the granite season fun. is that just makes it look really pretty. they float to the top and there on
9:54 am
insdie. yes, come up to come up and just that scores. we have to do a little cheers with all of let's do that. you up for i i want to leave, but he one more thing. this is my christmas so okay. so that's he hears you so much less years. thank chairman. thank you for joining us this morning. and we'll be right morning. and we'll be right back.
