i'm dan thorn police in fremont investigating a deadly shooting at a cvs at the fremont hub shopping center. this happened around 11 o'clock thursday night. witnesses telling security guard got into an argument which escalated that security guard was then shot and killed. the other person was stabbed multiple times. there is no word on that person's condition. customers came by the store on friday and found it closed. >> they were shocked to find out why. >> it's crazy. i can't believe that happened last really i expected for sure. >> cbs issued a statement to kron 4 saying that they are cooperating with police in their investigation of the incident and they are providing store employees with counseling services and other support as needed. the company also notes that while the store is temporarily closed nearby cvs locations are open and serving customers and patients. all right. now to our 4 zone forecast solano

information or possibly video of the collision to give them a call. >> take a look at this. a massive drug bust in san francisco's mission district. >> police say a resident alerted them about a car that may have been involved in a drug distribution. so essentially a drug deal near 17th and shot. well. police searched the car and found. more than a million a half-million dollars in cash and drugs, including cocaine and methamphetamine. police arrested 2 people on multiple charges. santa rosa police are warning of a rise in gang-related violence. they say several teens ranging in ages from 13 to 15 have been arrested and connection, robberies and assaults on the downtown area at the santa rosa transit mall. police say the latest assault happened on june 6th when a teenage boy was beaten unconscious by 10 people. no word on the victim's condition. police say these crimes have increased the demand of law enforcement resources. san francisco based

wells fargo has fired more than a dozen workers alleging they simulated keyboard activity. that's according to a report by bloomberg who says the employees are being accused of using mouse movers to simulate mouse motion to give the impression that someone is that their keyboard, according to bloomberg, those employees who lost their jobs are in the bank's wealth and investment management group. berkeley public schools could begin providing cash payments to black students whose ancestors were enslaved and the united states. that was just one idea that was floated at the berkeley unified school district board meeting earlier this week. members heard ideas from a committee tasked with developing recommendations for what preparations could look like in the district and how they would be funded. the board also discussed developing a new curriculum for teaching the history of slavery in america. but no plans have been approved yet. all board members expressed support for the ideas that presented by the task force.

a local humidity empowerment group is trying to bounce back after their building was damaged by a drive-by shooting. the organizers say bullets blew out some of the windows and left holes in the walls, but they say this is not going to stop them from their mission to do good in vallejo. >>some windows and a door are now boarded up at the boys and girls empowerment group in vallejo, bullets riddled the building on the night of june. 8th organizers say the damage was from a drive-by shooting while window my door. when show all.

the alarm on so-called pink slime sites posing as local news outlets in posting scores of polarizing partisan content. experts now warning these phony sites are outnumbering real news websites, news nation's ali should be a has been going through the numbers fake news outlets popping up everywhere online. >>in just the past few months, hundreds of these phony local news sites have popped up really with the goal of one kind of trying to surpass and overcome legitimate new sighting contents. >>the number just continue to fuel this polarization or false narratives we're seeing ahead of this election that is heating up. want to show you the numbers here. according to research group newsguard, there are 1265 pink slime outlets kind. the nickname police politically motivated and often partisan back websites pretending to be local news outlets. this compares to roughly 1213

5.80, in pleasanton after a two-car collision forced the semi truck to rollover kron four's philippe djegal shows us what slowed the friday morning commute to a crawl. >>turned on its side along west bound 5.80, in pleasanton, a costco semi truck causing heavy traffic congestion after it tipped over at around 9 o'clock in the morning. there's a 4 vehicle traffic collision. >>occurring in the westbound lanes, california highway patrol sergeant alex bryant says the chain reaction crash started as 2 cars collided when one of the drivers attempted to change lanes. one of those cars then veered into the big rig. the semi truck slammed into a minivan and

lowell elementary school, which was in session at the time when police got there, they found daniel lying on the sidewalk suffering from a gunshot wound. and while the bullets missed his friend, another teenager nearby was not so lucky. >>as a 27 year-old was shooting at the 2 teenage boys. a bullet went into nearby home. and 16 year-old who was inside of his house completely unrelated to that end sunday. >>that 16 year-old survived and was taken to the hospital. daniel was also taken to the hospital, but passed away 2 days later. 27 year-old minutes has since been arrested and charged for daniel's murder. jimenez is also charged with attempted murder. he's currently being held in the orange county jail without bail and is due back in court on july 10th in santa

ana. i'm chip yost, ktla. 5 news. >>developing news in the los angeles, west hills. people are on edge tonight after an armed suspect was seen prowling around their neighborhood. neighbors reported seeing a man looking to the windows of homes on once treated night. police are still searching for that person. ktla. shelby nelson has more. >>that's right. one of the neighbors who spotted that guy tells us that he knew something was suspicious. it wasn't until later he learned from other neighbors that that man may have been armed. >>i out the window and i saw a man trying to break into my neighbor's house. i saw him looked in the windows. this brandon taylor is talking about a man walking through this west hills la neighborhood tuesday afternoon near valley circle boulevard and stag street. >>you see him peeking through one person's gait. taylor had been home when he spotted the person. he then decided to keep an eye on him. >>followed my car.

ktxl reports from the administration office explaining why the county is under scrutiny. >>this is a pretty scathing report that's come down from the grand jury where it's alleging that the county has failed some of our most vulnerable. you are talking about foster kids. they're saying that due to the county's lack of planning, these kids have been put in unsafe housing conditions and some of the situations they've alluded to involve trafficking, drugs, alcohol and violence. here's some of the key takeaways from the investigation that accuses the county of placing foster kids and unlicensed locations. the investigation alleges up to 50 foster use a night to not have a safe place to sleep. >>the sacramento county grand jury says the child protective services committee fail to examine the problem and reported to county supervisors. one of the locations mentioned is the warning thorton. you center violence, drugs, alcohol and trafficking, where some of the dangers at the facility brought to light through interviews, calling the

conditions jail-like and that wasn't the only facility mentioned. here's a look at another facility deemed unfit. the cpsu intake facility. the report cited the sf chronicle who says there was violence in the facility. no beds, no showers, no kitchens and trafficking as well. the report outlined were child protective services fell short, saying cps failed to establish a license, temporary shelter care facility. cbs was inadequate at family finding which basically means placing use with relatives and cps failed to eliminate dangerous to use a houses, including alcohol and drug abuse. the grand jury presented solutions to fight the failings, including hiring staff with experience in congregate, living quarters, partnering with agencies that operate licensed facilities and acting stronger rules to eliminate problems at houses. they also suggested child protective services present a plan to the board of supervisors no later than april. 30th to recruit licensed and experienced

four's chief meteorologist lawrence karnow. >>fog free around the bay area this afternoon. beautiful shot as the sun setting. now outside, you can see nice clear skies, a little haze out there in our atmosphere. otherwise beautiful day. and this weekend looking good, too. although the winds we talked about, they're going to kick up again. we've got that weak system sliding on through just to our north. you see a few high clouds begin to make their way into parts of the north bay. that onshore breeze continuing outside right now. but high pressure going start kick to the east and behind. now we've got this trough of low pressure. going to begin to drop in. so that's going help to cool down. the temperatures going to be warm, especially away from the immediate coastline. you warmer temperatures inside the bay and the valleys. but cooler than what we had today and the winds going start to ramp up as early as tomorrow afternoon as we see that from begin to get a little bit closer. so numbers going break down like this in the san francisco. really some nice weather downtown. you're talking about 68 degrees, but breezy in the afternoon about 62 in the sunset cooler out toward the beaches. of course. and that breeze going to be picking up in the afternoon. but we'll see some sunshine even out toward the beaches with 50's and 60's there by

tomorrow afternoon. inside the bay should be beautiful. 65 degrees in millbrae about 60 for december on 66 burlingame headed down the peninsula. really? numbers warming up nicely. how about some 70's in woodside? 74 in sunny and bright in redwood city all day long waking up to plenty of sunshine. and that's the way lined up tomorrow in the south bay, 70's and 80's little hazy in the afternoon. but 81 degrees pretty comfortable in the campbell. 18 degrees in santa clara and warm 79 degrees in san jose. he's numbers going back off just a little bit from what we had today. still mid 80's out to do it in places like little more. and also the pleasanton. 82 snow about 72 degrees in union city further north. so a lot of sunshine coming your way. and that's what's going play out this weekend. so really a nice weekend to get out there and enjoy it. just be careful. fire danger is going to be running higher, especially the afternoon with those winds picking up right to the delta can see that breeze blowing in the afternoon and more. those winds on the way a little bit more northerly specially in the sunday. so next couple days we're going to see what looks like a nice weekend ahead. temperatures right about the average for this time of your father's day. looks like a very nice day.
