out this cloud cover. it looks like for today. onshore winds continue to help cool off the bay, though mid-eighties up to tahoe expected right through this little heat pump. we're talking about again. target date is tuesday. want to send you the tropical storm debby. here she is. max winds at 60 tropical storm. but expected to come a hurricane at landfall as it strikes florida. it looks like looks to be the panhandle. apalachicola is what it looks like at this point. now as a category one, the becomes a tropical storm and look at the fancy does along the southeastern coast before it hits around charlotte. that's when we think it might start to dissipate as a tropical entity. we're not sure yet. but the thing is around, south carolina might be some heavy rains to look out for going. hear more about this early into the weekend. set strike the u.s. mainland. we did have a severe thunderstorm warning actually up there in idaho a little bit what's left of the monsoon, but it's pretty much in the rockies right now. little bit the southwest, but you can see it being eaten away quite a bit. this is all
7:46 am
going backwards. let's go through the models and we'll talk about here talk about this. he pump coming our way, the position of this high is everything get to about tuesday and it's pretty close to us and that place minutes. what's going to drive everything at the surface that onshore wind. that's good. that's going help keep the base somewhat insulated. it's been a great help lately and it prevents those we whack numbers that we sometimes get when it gets like even 100 degrees in san francisco. that's when you just have no winds at all. so it looks like least have some surface winds, food there. look at the high kind jets to the sta socal just a little bit and way it goes and look at this a break in this by next weekend. that's impressive. the latest model runs hinting at a trough trying to dig in here a little bit. that means that heat buster. so we like that. maybe not a 10 and the olympics there will get maybe an 8 or so we've seen better than that so far. but that is pretty good. so that will break the back a little bit of the heat spike that we're getting people up. whatever 67 and the 4 zone forecast, san francisco lower 60's at the coast with
7:47 am
the fog at all. 74 for burlingame down to the south will do about 81 for redwood city. these numbers start to get in the 80's 90's. but 80's in the south bay mid-eighties with 94 morgan hill. most callous about 89 upper 70's east bay shoreline. so sub 80 tri valley you're looking at right? the cusp of upper 80's lower 90's own. meanwhile, back to the east bay shoreline, 70's, 73 going on for 73 for fairfield. 84 for napa and 90 still for santa rosa says some pockets of some hot weather still to be had. here it is on tuesday. the big heat pump gradually improving as we head into next weekend with that nice little trough dropping south. what a trooper. what a trooper it is right thank you very much. day. >> earlier this week we learned that vice president kamala harris secured enough delegates needed to become the democratic nominee. she is the first woman of color. >> there are in the nomination, but many are still wondering who she's going to be choosing a running mate. joining us right now to discuss the historic vote and
7:48 am
what is happening in dc today as political analyst michael yaki. hi, michael. it a good morning. so let's first talk that. she got the delegates and she raised a lot of in july. impressive. >> she's got to the delegates will be officially ratified tomorrow, which may be the same day she now to serve. you can get vp nominee. but the amount of money that you outraising trump in a month when there was a lot of commotion on both sides and quite frankly, she had. i'm a little bit of a late start. pretty good. >> okay. now let's dive deep into what's going on in dc today. we know we've heard 3 candidates kind of rising to the top. we've got picture of some of the candidates that the 6 but we're hearing that it's been actually kind of shave down 2 threes. so what are your thoughts right now on what's going on in dc say they're meeting their of the naval observatory where the vice president, president lives. so fox.
7:49 am
>> well, first, i i'm not sure they're in the final 3. it could be that she's met with andy beshear, for example, the governor of kentucky, who will? i think it's kind of al gore type of vice presidential in the south she made met with pete buttigieg are as well. but i think that that and do the waltz tim walt wisconsin. i mean its sorry, josh pennsylvania and senator mark kelly. i think those are probably the strongest along with year it's really going to be they say these interviews are a chemistry test. obviously, i think that she had build chemistry with anyone else. she would be having these additional 3 unless it's for political show. you just so you just don't know at this point. it's a very closely guarded secret. the one that we'll all find out probably within 24 24 or so hours. >> so are you curious why there wouldn't be an actual,
7:50 am
for example, you mentioned al gore. so when al gore, so when clinton picked al gore, it was a big, you know, they were on agent was big should, you know, big to do right? so are you surprised that they're not going to possibly have kind of a big announcement party? >> they want what they're saying is they're going he's going to be begin a campaign swing on tuesday she wants the vice presidential nominee with their. so that's really going to be the kickoff. i mean, this is i mean, we're down under 100 days now between now and the election may have to hit the ground running. they can week for a big balloon drop at the convention in a couple weeks. so we're we're going to see the day announcement and the introduction on tuesday at that, the big rally that she says that she staging so. you know, i think it's it's just a matter of time. she started she's starting and this is going to be, you know, part of
7:51 am
a business as normal, which she's going to be running full speed from now to november. 5th. >> a lot of this is reading tea leaves right? so who do you think? would compliment her best? well, i mean, you know, going to really gets down to it. >> i'm not too sure. history really shows that the vice president candidate brings any electoral votes to it in terms of personally, it's like it's not like they're going to bring their state all the time, although they're obviously looking at the fac of josh shapiro and the electoral votes in pennsylvania where president biden was running. cerner are starting to fall behind josh shapiro's. very strong outperformed the biden-harris ticket. someone who has a lot of string in the independent show that with with his election to governor. but then again, he was running against pretty much a trump person. questions can be painted again
7:52 am
this time around. that might be helpful. you know, mark kelly senator mark kelly, border state, someone who may be little bit to the right harrison and border issues so very popular in his state really know creche. carrie lee, when they are running against chther, someone who you might be able put ring a little under 2. it to their next neighbor in nevada where the democrats for reasons known only to the democrats are running much further behind than they should be. so e's that man, you're tim walz, who is kind of the progressive folkyou know, they are kind kind of guy who no one had heard about until we went on the talk sholike a week or so ago and and to the coin that meme and then use finding out that he's their wisconsin. i think what is another another say that you may want someone who can appeal to the more progressive wing of the party and let harris tech to the back to the
7:53 am
middle. but any one of those combinations, it's interesting. andy beshear, like i said, can beat al gore. so they're kind of anchor. these are these are all the considerations, but it really comes down to chemistry how good they are in the campaign trail and and how comfortable they are in the traditional role of attack dog because that's what they're going to be doing most of the time you know, there's there's some thought that you want your bureau based in pennsylvania. are you want kelly base in arizona and just stay there and get the votes going appear with. there is an as many times as possible. so. it's it. i think this team reading is all you have no idea. and we will. we know really until starts to leak out probably tomorrow morning or maybe even tonight i was going to say my my a vote is going to be on tonight. but that is it early. >> reading. >> i think it was interesting with walls, you know, he's commenting is kind of been
7:54 am
called the midwestern dad. so we've got the dad. we've got the al gore. we've got a whole mix. we've got the astronaut, right? so you know, i yeah. >> you do what you do in your 2 people in walton and kelly, who have very strong military background. there are people who who we have that kind of appeal. and again, you i mean, they're crunching the demographic. one poll that show that that that kelly have had the best performance of all of them. but, you know, who she like in? who she covered with chance. she had a there's some clashes with administration. in the shapiro, what does he do in terms of in terms of the sort of israel, gaza sport, isn't that occurring within the democratic party? you see you see trump trying to manufacturing creates even more of a schism with it by exchange action was a palestinian, which insane. so, you know, these are the kinds of things that are all being weighed. and then, you know,
7:55 am
walt comes in with his with his folksy, you know, you know, for every commanding kind of thing and and, you know, you just can we don't know. it's who does she feel comfortable with? who is who's going to perform? well, who is going to be out there on the stump? just hammering trump and jd vance for the next 90 plus days. 93. >> not that anybody's county. thank you very much. really always your insight. thank always your insight. thank you. theresa. be right back. flex alert! flex alert!

8:48 am
so make it a little that usually have it marinate. i like to at least 30 minutes. 30 minutes is is really all that it look at how a surety that as it's gorgeous and it's got like i said, a little bit of flavor with those ginger in it. and then what i like to do is because of a condo and everything to me is everything good idea. every i'm going to at some slices of avocado to it also. and then i'm just going to top it with some fresh cilantro. okay, nice, fresh flavor. and you can just pick that up if you want to. you don't even need to i make it easy. that's a quick, ok, dinner, whatever you want number one. and now we've got a pasta dish because doesn't like to have pasta, everyone? i think your daughter hostile pasta. so right, mind to and so i made some pasta. and while the pasta was going, i honestly, i just got some beautiful chick peas, some common to all of some salami and the star of the show of

8:50 am
to put a little bit of mustard in there because, oh, yes, you also fly by it, definitely with some of that dijon mustard soda. and you've got a little bit of everything in here. and like i something, you're not, you know, a fan up when in doubt, just move it out. and then you have a little bit of the cheese such and then when that happened at the end, wanted to get too much of the she moshi. so i have to top it off with the cheese and you've got this beautiful pass to that. i'm telling you it's good for the next 8, but i don't think it will last. do like assault and pepper, the montage, even salt and pepper. i put some my right to do so. you're pretty good with that. but of course, you can add whatever you want to that. and then for quick desert, i used to do this. i don't know if you did this on a friday after school special dessert. i just you can do vanilla banana lemon. put put it in a mason jar. always good. and just for fun. and then i just because we have so many fresh fruits right now that are in season like the

you surprised that they're not going to possibly have kind of a big announcement party? >> they what they're saying is they're going he's going to be begin a campaign swing on tuesday she wants the vice presidential nominee with their. so that's really going to be the kickoff. i mean, this is i mean, we're down under 100 days now between now and the election may have to hit the ground running. they can week for a big balloon drop. but the convention in a couple weeks. so we're we're going to see day announcement and the introduction on tuesday at that, the big rally that she says that she staging so. you know, i think it's it's just a matter of time. she started she's starting and this is going to be, you know, part of a business as normal, which she's going to be running full speed from now to november trip. >> a lot of this is reading tea leaves right? so who do
9:21 am
you think? would compliment her best? well, i mean, you know, going to really gets down to it. >> i'm not too sure. history really shows that the vice president candidate brings any electoral votes to it in terms of personally, it's like it's not like they're going to bring their state all the time. although they're obviously looking at the fac of josh shapiro and the electoral votes in pennsylvania where president biden was running. cerner are starting to fall behind josh shapiro's new pitch very strong outperforming the biden-harris ticket. someone who has a lot of string in the independent show that with with his election to governor. but then again, he was running against pretty much a trump person. questions can painted again this time around. that might be helpful. you know, mark kelly senator mark kelly, border state, someone who may be little bit to the right of

9:23 am
these are these are all the considerations, but it really comes down to chemistry how good they are in the campaign trail and and how comfortable they are in the traditional role of attack dog because that's what they're going to be doing most of the time you know, there's there's some thought that you want your bureau based in pennsylvania. are you want kelly base in arizona and just stay there and get the votes going appear with. there is as many times as possible. so, you know, it's it. i think this tv reading is all you have no idea. and we will. we know really until starts to leak out probably tomorrow morning or maybe even tonight. >> i was going to say my my a vote is going to be on tonight. but that is it early reading. >> i think it was interesting with walls, you know, he's commenting is kind of been called the midwestern dad. so we've got the dad. we've got the al gore. we've got a whole mix. we've got the astronaut, right? so you know, i yeah. >> you do what you do in your
