something member jesse gabriel says he wrote ab 23 16 if signed into law starting in 2028, it will forbid california k through 12 public schools from serving or selling snacks that contain the 6 food dyes found in many well-known items like flaming hot cheetos and tweak. he's these food dyes can negatively impact a lot of our children and they can actually interfere with their ability to learn. gabriel says that's the conclusion of several studies, including this one from the california office of environmental health hazard assessment that found the consumption of synthetic food dyes can result in hyper activity and certain behavioral and developmental challenges for some somebody who struggled with adhd as a child. >>i have one of my 3 boys that struggles with it. and so said to me myself and makes no sense that we are feeding foods to our students, that would actually harm them. that would actually cause neuro behavior, harms or interfere with their ability to learn. he stresses this is not a ben noting of companies modify their ingredients to remove the food dyes in question like they've done in europe. the

>>one of our staff was out on inspection tied to a septic permit application and they saw some liquid coming out of the clips that i with, you know, they're professional. i they could tell this didn't look just plain water. looks like wastewater evidence. and so they did some immediate testing. and then we did further testing and further investigation and saw that we weren't talking about just one spot. we were talking about this mile and a half stretch. that's how a lot of that was. my next question is how long this was because we showed the map. >>we were saying that their sewage seeping from the bluffs into the water. is that what you're also finding? >>that's what we're concluding it. i the only source of wastewater in this location would be the septic systems for the residences there. so i it would appear that there a septic affluent that seeking

from seeping from porsche it from some of the septic systems or most likely many of the septic systems on the mesa. >>and so that needs to be fixed by the homeowners. county. >>we have new our first step is to assess where the problems coming from. exactly what specifically is going on. it's only then that we can figure out what those solutions need to be and how we go about them. and with could the tides are the way that the water flows? pull this and other parts of the coastline there and cause of concerns. other spots. >>that's not something we're expecting, although we're continuing to talk what we're ging to be talking with. i some other state agencies. we did test the ocean water. it doesn't appear that high bacteria levels have gotten. there are big concern is really the eye, the septic it

waste water on the beach itself at this point. and you know how long the beach will be closed for. we don't know how long, but it's going to take some time to determine what's happening and what we do about it. so we expect it to be closed for a significant length of time. a significant length of time. so not just this weekend longer than that. yes. and with this, people are also being told that they can't drink their tap water in the area. they have to buy bottled water and you believe this they need. >>they need to use the well. water has been impacted this is a really small community. they're pretty private in bolinas. just wondering what the reaction is that you're getting from people there. >>well, the public well, water, there's a there's a public utility district and why some people are get public they've concluded that there's not a concern about the public water supply. it's really for

people who are on private but there is, you know, considerable consternation. i that we've heard from community members. >>about want, you know, less availability of the beach. and i just about what might be going on and what these long-term fixes might need to be. and it's such a popular spot for just going to the beach, seeing a beautiful the coast is surfing fishing. >>is there any cleanup that people can actually do of people want to come out and help and volunteer or does teacher just have to run its course? will portions of the beach or open the part between brighton and a wharf road is open so you can still go to bolinas. you can still be on the just only on the portion of that. that's closest to central bolinas. >>i it's it's not ready yet for the public to help out with the cleanup, but we're going to be keeping everybody

francisco police say had a gun led officers on a chase past the palace tree cable car turn around this morning. that chase came to a halt when police eventually shot the suspect. kron four's dan kerman has the very latest information. >>we cannot have on people walking our streets. committing crimes any nature. >>it's here inside the powell street bart station, where at least 2 san francisco police officers opened fire on a man they say had a gun. police say the incident began about 10. 21 officers patrolling the 400 block of jessie street spotted a man in his car with a gun as police conceived a plan to approach the man he got out of

breezy in the afternoon, mostly sunny, but cooler on sunday got a system that's developing in the gulf of alaska. this is going to slowly work its way southward as we head throughout the weekend and by late sunday into monday that starts kind of role in our direction. there you go. model start to pick up on this kind of a ragtag system. not a lot of moisture with it. a chance of a couple scattered light showers in the barrier would be unheard of as we head in toward monday, especially as that system comes through early in the morning and some snow in the sierra nevada to go along with that as well. then another one drops right in behind that on wednesday. and that is once again going to bring with a slight chance of a couple sprinkles. more snow in the high country. but yeah, i'm not going to be much. in fact, look at the numbers as we head through that period. we're talking a few hundreds of an inch of rain locally more than that for the north. but maybe more importantly, as the snow. we've got a winter weather advisory up in the high cuntry. the mammoth lakes area, as you make your way towards shaver lake, maybe as much as 4 inches of snow in
