12:55 am
panicking. what they're working in the soft landing and they made local till the overall here is to avoid a recession. and the way we're going to do that is the lower interest rates means you and i have lower annual percentage rates. our credit card. it means we get lower car rates for buying a new car which employs a lot of people. it means lower mortgage so our monthly payment, because don't we have more money to put into the economy for someone like you? you may say i'm gonna sell my house time to get a bigger house. that puts more inventory out there. so it's it's a wide swath of how a very positive reactions from wall street for the economy, which plays and wall makes borrowing money cheaper. so buying a new car. >>doing a renovation on your home. all of that, then spurs the economy. so the goals that people are going try to borrow money from banks. >>yes, we will. we spend our paychecks, everyone who's employed. and that's one of the reasons. again, the feds watching the employment number, but also it makes saving fruitful. so we have
12:56 am
about 6.3 trillion dollars sitting in cash counts right now, earning 5 and a quarter to 5 and a half percent last week or yesterday. today that's been cut down about 4.7 5%, roughly. so it's people looking to put that money to work. it's still beating inflation, which is nice for a cash like return, which is safe. but it's not people move that money in the markets is the expectation. i want to get your thoughts on quote, i read today while lower rates can help boost the economy, they can also give inflation. >>more fuel. can you explain that? do agree with that? if traveling little bit cheaper for me on my credit card, you know, i might look a flight to paris. >>using more jet fuel taking more space in the plane, therefore can. jack price is a little bit so we may see because of demand coming out of the consumer. some things like oil prices jet fuel and airlines move higher as far as
12:57 am
the commodities costs play into them. so we've already seen oil move higher in the last couple of days. so and when that does you know, be more expensive for you and i to put gasoline or tank as well as the fight appears. i mean, i'd like to do both of those things to okay. so the next fed meeting is in november right after the election is that >>timed any particular way? and what happens between now and >>well, i think we're in market rally except for the fact that the s p 500 to really expensive and it's over extended. we have the callous. we have the jet fuel so to speak, to burn a little bit higher in the markets. the next fed meeting will be data dependent, which means between now november. they're going to take a look at how the interest rate, how inflation numbers come out and how the job numbers could play out. and if they're a little bit weaker, maybe we'll get another 50 basis points. the expectation is this time next year we'll have another 150 basis points factored and i don't know. it's november. i number data dependent, but we
12:58 am
will be moving lower. so or mortgages are going to go lower or revising to go lower. the credit card rates lower. >>it should be a nice one to 2 years before we start thinking when raise rates to slow down this hot so >>we we've got a little bit runway everyone should be enjoying their therefore one case today has market hit all-time high based on the economy be induced by the lower interest rates that we will. rob black are a money guy. our financial expert, thanks for joining us. appreciate your time.
