bay. now, the police now telling us a shooting reported earlier this morning left 2 people dead outside their home. now police have arrested a suspect. they're calling this an active homicide case. the shooting happened shortly before 10 this morning on lincoln avenue. it's about a mile away from napa high school. police say they found a man and a woman with gunshot wounds outside of a home. both were pronounced dead at the scene about 4 hours later. police say they tracked down the suspect who led officers on a car chase into kennedy park. investigators say the suspect refused to surrender and then ended up shooting himself with a gun. he was taken to the hospital for treatment. police have not yet said what led up to the shooting or if the victims and the suspect knew each other. our other top story tonight after 57 years, the a's said their final goodbye to a sold out coliseum. it was a sad day for fans. many who have been watching the a's for decades since they first arrived in the 1960's sadness isn't the

only a motion for these fans either. many are angry at the team's owner, john fisher who decided to move the a's to vegas during today's game. there were loud chants demanding he sell the team. the a's did win their final game at the coliseum, beating the texas rangers 3 to 2 fans telling us they were happy to experience such a historic last game, but also very upset. the a's will no longer call oakland home. >>and tickets. what is going up so i can i grew up. so it's just really sad. raise my kids here. i we can all the time. so it's just all of that to guy like is too like people live die. but have is a it all

baker beach could become a hunting ground for dogs so far this month, 3 dogs have been confirmed to be killed by coyotes. >>at crissy field and dog attacks have been reported weekly. you know, all of a sudden they're being really, really bald there, too comfortable with people because people have been feeding them. martha walters is the chair of the crissy field dog group. she says in the last 5 months there's been a major spike in coyote attacks. i've seen 2 attacks at crissy field. i've talked to east 100 people since late april. i've spoken to probable it. >>about 3 or 4 people have had to have lost talks. the coyotes in the presidio and so it's it's something that is very traumatizing. but walter says there should be a public database where you can see real-time reporting of these incidents. the longtime group is now calling on the golden gate national recreation area. >>and the presidio trust to be more transparent. we would like to see your data of

coyote incidents and sightings and they won't give it to us. so we finally had to file a freedom of information act by a public record to get documents to see because i'm a data person. let's look at the data. the golden gate, national recreation area tells kron 4 that each of the deaths this month involved off-leash dogs. the agency has posted signs in the area to warn people and offer safety tips advising dog owners to report coyote encounters to park dispatch and to walk dogs on a leash. dog owners at crissy field say they see coyotes often and many have experienced encounters. he has chased one-off least before. so it's happened. we're a lot more careful now. when i know was kind tease. >>i called my dog back and i got really big i thought about scaring away. bears is what my >>it's ran away. >>park officials tell us they will be monitoring the area over the next several days to haze coyotes, which is a

warrant at a home on mckee road near 6.80, where they say they found 2 human trafficking victims. authorities say the woman running that brothel were booked into jail. voters in oakland rally in what they call a push to make. governor newsom keep his promise to build a million affordable homes by 2030. they say less than one percent of california's general fund dollars have gone to affordable housing and homelessness programs and the lack of dignified affordable housing can lead to severe and potentially fatal outcomes. today's rally was held in front of a garage complex where an unhoused woman was recently killed in a fire. >>locals who have had to live in cars on the streets. iran does. prevent you know, stab live radar, a tenant protections and building more affordable homes, location of price of their own community because they've lived here long enough to know what a community that made out of.

emergency landing early thursday morning on a highway reporter chip yost has the very latest from oceanside. >>hello there that plane were talking about is still here at the oceanside municipal airport. and now both the oceanside police department and the dea are involved in the ase. >>it doesn't surprise me. i think we have narcotics coming into our country various ways. i think the surprising part is emergency landing and how we came across. >>with the little piper cherokee sitting behind them at the oceanside municipal airport. police gave an update about how they discovered drugs aboard the plane early thursday morning at around one, 40 am thursday. the small plane made an emergency landing on state route. 76 that the pilot attributed to an engine failure, according to flightaware dot com. the plane left mesa, arizona, at around 11:00:09pm, the night before and was supposed to

pre-school officials how much is this going to cost? and first and foremost, we want to go ahead. take out to some video to give you some perspective on what the stadium looks like right now. you're taking a look at hornet stadium from above school. officials tell us the new stadium will those 25,000 seats in an architecture firm known for designing famous stadiums like yankee stadium and the upcoming buffalo bills stadium would be spearheading the design. one of the big questions getting asked today, how much does all of this ultimately going to cost? school officials told us they could not reveal or give us a ballpark just yet but said it would not cut into the general fund. they also told us several sources, including sponsors and donors would help fund the project. >>i can say definitively that tuition will not be at all even remotely impacted by now, fees are set at the campus level, some of them at least. and we did go through a fee adjustment process that was about investing in a whole host of things on campus.

the city. but a number of neighbors say they're opposing that plan. kron four's. michael thomas is in san jose with what comes next. >>dozens of protesters from the group save west valley continue to argue traffic safety concerns here at this proposed costco location. but despite their concerns, well, the city planning commission of costco on to the next steps of meeting with city council. and if that gets approved, will these buildings behind me would be knocked down and one huge wholesale store would be put in. this proposed costco location is in a small parking lot that's shared with the trader joe's off a prospect road and border san jose and saratoga. >>it sits near schools and homes on graves avenue where kids walk daily and dorothy angus, who lives nearby says that's why it's a problem. it's crazy parking that prospect high it makes tricky for the plan is to demolish 3 buildings or replace them with one giant costco revamping the entire parking lot as well. the mega store says they'd add a sound wall to reduce noise.

the tech world. meta. the parent company of facebook has unveiled a new augmented reality glasses. they call orion the glasses have a thicker him to hold minature electronics like cameras, microphones and speakers users can see digital information and holographic content. overlaid on the real world. the glasses also have met as ai assistant built in which can explain what you're looking at. you can also make video calls through the glasses. now these are a prototype and they could be years away from reality. one estimate says they cost about $10,000. a pair, but meta believes tech like this will be a big replacement for the smartphone. disney plus has officially started its crackdown on password sharing. the company calls it paid sharing. you can now add one extra member outside your household for an extra 7 to $10 a month. users already piggybacking on someone else's account can start their own and transfer all of their watch history and settings.

he fished from the water line. reporter ellina abovian has the details. >>good evening. while this incident, it happened just south of the pier. the victim was out fishing and santa monica. needless to say, it's a world famous attraction. so it does beg the question now is this place safe? this is the suspect. take a look at his photo. 31 year-old john broke smith, a homeless man from illinois is in police custody, charged with attempted murder after nearly strangling a man to death. a 28 year-old man from west hollywood who was out fishing just south of the pier on september 19. police say this wasn't random unprovoked attack. the victim suffered injury to his neck and was taken to the hospital, expected to make a full recovery. the suspect was arrested by santa monica police. and this is not his first offense. he has quite a rap sheet just 4 days prior to this attack, he was arrested for burglary in los angeles. >>he was also arrested earlier this year for public intoxication, possession of a weapon on school grounds and

>>you know, we have some nice weather ahead here. we saw those temperatures bounce back to i think tomorrow could be a spectacular day around the bay area special on the coastline. if you've been looking forward to some warm weather up toward the beaches tomorrow may just be that they start to squeeze in a couple of 70's out there right out the water's edge right now. just a couple patches of fog around the bay area along the coastline summit. little thick in spots. but looking good from mount tam cam right now is the skies remain mostly clear out over the bay high pressure. yeah, it's going to try to build in here ever so slightly as we head in toward tomorrow. more importantly, we've got this low off the coastline. we can't just a little bit of a northerly flow, the wind and that may be just enough to bring an offshore flow and up to clear out skies for

tomorrow. now, over the weekend that changes that low begins to surge back on shore. and we're gonna get more of an onshore flow. and that will bring with more low clouds and fog for the weekend. but next week, all of a sudden high pressure begins to build at least the first part of the week. then late next week, everything changes again as we've got yet another front. so, yeah, it's kind of topsy-turvy. things are up and down in the weather department as we're going to see those temperatures really kind of rotating from a cooler numbers to some warmer stuff ahead as we kind of try to sell into a fall pattern. long range forecast models from the climate prediction center showing above normal temperatures in the forecast from the second to about the 6 of october. but you'll see things are going to change coming our way as we're going to toward lot of part of this next week out there right now. we've got some patchy, coastal fog trying to form tomorrow, mostly sunny and hot inland. this weekend should be a nice weekend. temperatures to be right about the average a cold front kind of sliding on by. not gonna be able to get here, bringing some rain, the pacific northwest, but that is going to be moving on by and fallen apart as it comes through. and that means we're left with a nice, warm day around the bay area. in fact,

probably pretty hot. some spots in weather. start temperatures. 73 downtown san francisco about 68 in the sunset. beautiful there. 72, nice day in daly city, about 70 degrees in pacifica, 70 in half. moon bay inside the bay got a mix of 70's and 80's the south, san francisco and burlingame headed southwest temperatures warming up 91 degrees in san carlos. lot of 90's in the south bay by tomorrow afternoon. you'll see those 90's also in places like livermore. pleasanton in your back to that again, some hot weather showing up in those spots. so here we go. temperatures heating up after cool off midweek. and we're going to watch as numbers soar, at least for one day again tomorrow. the good news is stick around. we're gonna watch those temperatures cooling down. here's your 10. a those see those temperatures, the 90's by saturday. you're back in the 80's right around the average and then we go the other direction again on monday and tuesday. next week, a chance we could be flirting with some triple digit temperatures on tuesday. well, is owner john fisher was just 6 years old when the a's play their first ever game at the oakland coliseum team president dave kaval hadn't even been born
