it's more of a seabreeze and said that offshore wind that tells you where we're going. we're going to see some cooling, i think along the coastline still going to be hot inland tomorrow. and then tomorrow after that, we're going to see those temperatures started to slowly cool down across the board. but we have been able to say we've got a seabreeze already kicking in now it's going to be light overnight tonight. not going to be much so not expecting much in the way of fog, but by tomorrow afternoon that starts to ramp up. and that's going to cool those temperatures right along the coastline inside the bay. the valley's you're going to be a little bit cooler, but it's still going to be hot. no, getting around that numbers. breaking down like this in the san francisco about 79 degrees. 73 in the sunset toward the coastline. one of those one of the beaches looking temperatures there in the low to about the mid 70's inside the bay. of course, it's going to be warmer. but 84 degrees in burlingame ad in brisbane working the way down the middle of the peninsula. 90's going to be popping up in the palo alto and further south. yeah, probably some triple digit heat chop the santa clara valley. once again get over the east bay hills. and there you go. that hot air kind of trapped there. those temperatures going to soar again tomorrow. 99 in walnut creek, 100 in concord

presidential and that he was ready for the part, but ultimately peace as voters will focus on the top of the ticket. the end of the day, this will be between harris and trump and the candidates are eyeing the finish line. we've got a very limited amount of time to make our case to the american people that donald trump ought to be re-elected president. this comes down to the final days. let's be very clear where we're headed looking very about the excitement. and i can tell you, listen to folks today pennsylvania, we're going to get this thing in washington. i'm hannah brandt. >>while there's plenty of conversation following the vice presidential debate tuesday night to discuss it all. we turn now to kron four's justine waldman, speaking with the uc berkeley professor stephen fish. so election day, 34 days away. what did you think about the debate? do they can move the needle for any voters? >>well, first of all, it was just a substantively good debate. you know, comparing this to recent past presidential debates. i think this one was very high on substance and it had what
11:50 pm
people say they want in a debate. it had a lot of discussion of real policies. it got very the candidates got specific. it was civil generally speaking. so i think in all in all, this is actually a very good debate. will it move the needle? we can't say what's going to be decisive in this election. this election comes down to, you know, relatively small number of votes in a handful of swing states than anything could tip the needle on this election. so it could actually end up making a difference. typically, vice presidents vice presidential debates don't make a decisive difference. but again, in elections closed, anything could tip the balance. who do you think came out on top? i think walls overall posted to a stronger performance. and i think expectations for walls, warren probably should have been lower than for walters, most comfortable out there mixing up which can said his constituents advance really loves the debate format. he's a yale law school graduate. this is the kind of thing that

11:52 pm
might be it. what do you think the next 34 days look like? >>well, this is obviously very close race. both candidates are going to be, you know, working hard to make their closing cases. but i think harris actually has the momentum right now ever since she really stepped up as the party's nominee in late july, trump has really begun to melt down. he's gone from his usual off the rails to kind of a headlong dash to la la land. you listen to some of the things he's saying recently and he's a viewer's been and discipline in erratic, even by his own standards. i think the reason is that somebody finally stood up to the bully. harris, did the democrats did they change their messaging game from a kind of isn't trump terrifying? what are we going to do to bring it on maga the a much more aggressive. and i think trump has had a very hard time dealing with that. so think the momentum is with harris. trump's team to both the ceiling and a floor that spread from 46. 47% of the

population. probably will not be able to win with that. we have to keep in mind, that all the matter the swing states, one candidate could win the popular vote and still lose. the election has happened in 2016 2020. right now, though, it looks to me like harris is probably going to carry enough of those swing states to take her over the line. i expect her to be the next president. >>all right. see a in 34 days from now possibly professor stephen fish. thank you for joining us. appreciate your time. to recap the debate from

>>in their first and only debate vice presidential nominees, jd vance and tim walz work to introduce themselves to voters while trying some clear lines rather than personal attacks. the candidates using much of their nearly 2 hours on stage taking swipes on policy. they debated on a range of issues like immigration, the middle east, an abortion kron four's justine waltman spoke with sonoma state university professor david mcewan to break it all down. who do you think came out on top last night?
12:49 am
>>all right. so you've got the midwestern nice guy. governor waltz trying to place jd vance into a box. he doesn't do this very well. he's not aggressive enough. jd vance can be the aggressor. and, you know, the reputation that jd vance came in with is one that really was, you know, that he was evil, that he had all these things going on with him. it wasn't like that in terms of how we portray himself. so jeanne mance can be the aggressor. he can soften his edges. and in that process, he seems relatively reasonable, at least until the end. and that place the year and kind of the lead in piece about what happens on the question of legitimacy of the 2020 election. then what you see from that is maybe gets a little bump. maybe it's half a point. but the events of the middle east and the events going on across the world are going to overtake any bump that happens. so basically maybe slight advantage to vance, but a draw overall. >>do you think that the debate will move the needle at all for these undecided voters in these few swing states?
12:50 am
>>ok, so one thing to pay attention to is we are now kind of less than 800 hours, not a lot of time where the candidates spend their money and resources, meaning donald trump and kamala harris where they spend their money is absolutely critical as well as their time. as you look at that, particular debate doesn't move the needle because what kamala harris and her team have experienced is they have done. i would say the easy stuff they have absolutely change the dynamic of the race but on issues related to the economy, something jd vance kept coming to over and over again last night. they still remain about 5 below donald trump in terms of favor ability. that means that's last week week and a half. the haven't been able to close that gap. so they have to make that closing argument over the for weeks and find a way forward because their campaign has pushed forward change the dynamic, but now kind of sits and kind a stasis and they have to figure out that way forward. while donald trump ratchets up what's going on while the world seemingly is on fire, all of that works
12:51 am
to an advantage to make this race really close. so you have to appeal to white, undecided working class voters as well as to out your base. if you're kamala harris, that's a little difficult. but there are there is a precedent for this. obviously, 2008, obviously 2020, but it should keep the race tight moving forward as well. >>what do you think the strategy was in focusing on policy versus taking personal attacks against each other between the 2 candidates. >>okay. so the focus on policy over the personal, ok, refreshing and some ways, right? a deep dive 12, 13 minutes about abortion, 13, 14 minutes about health care. that's a deep dive in a presidential debate. something that lasts a little less than 2 hours and also covers about 10 different topics, brought topics. that's interesting. but there's not much sizzle that comes out of that. there isn't a moment where you draw against your opponent and really push hard. jd vance did this a little bit better. and
12:52 am
the sense vance's like everything comes back to the kamala harris administration, not joe biden. he's not mention project 2025. as mentioned only once by governor tim waltz. and as a result, jd vance gets that slight kind of edge up. and and that is an important element because i'll give you an example. tim office didn't do well on the question of whether to ease and tenements square when he was in hong kong. what that looked like, kind of flip the pendant, that question to say something to the effect of luck. i'm not like my opponent whose exaggerator making stories out like about springfield, ohio. that's a missed moment. so stylistically, when you're focusing on policy, you're missing some of the politics. it's nice. it's refreshing, but it also is an inflection moment when a potentially could be a game-changer in a country. that's basically 48. 48. yeah. >>34 days until election day, 816 now. so go a long way to go. david mcewan, thank you for joining us. appreciate your time. wednesday was

afternoon that starts to ramp up. and that's going to cool those temperatures right along the coastline inside the bay. >>the valley's you're going to be a little bit cooler, but it's still going to be hot. no, getting around that numbers. breaking down like this in the san francisco about 79 degrees. 73 in the sunset toward the coastline. one of those one of the beaches looking temperatures there in the low to about the mid 70's inside the bay. of course, it's going to be warmer. but 84 degrees in burlingame ad in brisbane working the way down the middle of the peninsula. 90's going to be popping up in the palo alto and further south. yeah, probably some triple digit heat shock to the santa clara valley once again get over the east bay hills. and there you go. that hot air kind of trapped there. those temperatures going to soar again tomorrow. 99 in walnut creek, 100 in concord tomorrow. get the idea. this temperatures yet, even though they're cooling down just a little bit, it's still going to be really hot spots, especially away from the coastline. but next couple days, we're going to see a change in the pattern. but ever so slowly cooling things down into friday, warming up slightly on saturday. only cool down as we head toward the middle of next week. that's a long time away.
