their officers. this is video of the scene shared on the citizen app. you can see a shooting took place there just after 9.30, one person was shot and taken to the hospital. their condition is unknown at this time and no word yet on a motive. but bar police say trains are not running. instead, they are offering bus services between south hayward and fremont. this is developing story and we will bring you the latest information as it becomes available. and the north bay police say u.s. postal worker has been killed in a crash. >>police say the crash happened shortly after 5 this evening in santa rosa. the mail truck and an suv collided at the intersection of corrigan street and north pine parkway. the usps letter carrier was thrown from the truck and was found dead at the scene at this time. police believe the male driver of the suv suffered a medical emergency right before he hit that mail truck. we'll keep following this story and let you know of any updabecome a a

possibility and smaller creeks and streams as the week goes on. kron 4 chief meteorologist is tracking it all. and this real this first real storm of the season and he has the latest details, lawrence. >>pounded by a series of storms rolling in the bay. i think the main rivers like the russian, the napa petaluma, they're all going to stay within their banks. but going to see some rapid rises, the smaller creeks and streams around the bay area. we could see some flooding there right now. it's quiet out there. it is cold to we've got freeze warnings going. a frost advisories too. as we get ready for return ofsome rain. and boy, it is going to come in come in hard, especially as we get into wednesday. national weather service already issued a flwatch for the entire north bay. and really, that's where we're expecting the main focus of this storm and they could see as much as 5, maybe 6 inches of rain, maybe as much as 10 inches long. some the coastal ranges and parts of northern sonoma county. so of course, you get thmount t t t t of rain a short amount of time and that's going to cause some flooding issues right now. so

far, just some high clouds drifting up above. but this it's going to be what we call that pineapple express, the good old atmospheric river going to roll in the bay area. fact to your left, you can see honolulu, hawaii islands and that stream of moisture originating in that area. so it's carrying with a tremendous amount of moisture making its way across the pacific. now on. well, here comes latest forecast model showing that being a dive in the bay area as we head into our wednesday morning. you see the bulk of the heaviest rain north of the golden gate bridge. that continues to be the case there. but again, to get a little soaking. but the heaviest rain staying to our north, there's plenty more to come. >>thanks, lauren swell now to san jose where a pedestrian has died after being hit by a car. police say the collision happened around 08:45pm. tonight. that's in the area. bird and co avenu in n jose's willow. glen neighborhood officers have only describe the pedestrian as an adult male and he later died at e hoital. police say northbound bird avenue from kota fuller avenue will be closed until further notice. and tomorrow, san jose

city council members are expected to discuss march horses vacancy following his resignation. torres is currently in jail on charges related to child crimes. last week he was denied bail due to the evidence presented to the judge. and today was the for 3rd day of testimony for many. he's the man accused of killing cash app founder bob lee in san francisco today. many face questions from jurors. many testified last week that he pulled over and parks is bmw under the bay bridge in april last year. that's because least built a can of beer in his lap. well, many said lee exploded with anger after that and made bad joke. many claim that the tech mogul attacked him with a knife and he fought back in self-defense. jurors asked him about the incident in the car and his actions after the altercation after answering the jurors the money was excused from the witness stand, although he can still be recalled at a later date.

>>welcome back. i'm stephanie rothman, san jose police have shot a man who they say assaulted his wife, stabbed a family member and also threatened officers with a knife over the weekend. the man is now in critical condition at the hospital. kron four's. lindsey ford has the latest. >>police say the suspect has this history of domestic violence and has a restraining order against him. they say on sunday night he assaulted his wife by throwing dishes at her and threatened to kill her before threatening officers with a knife. all this happening shortly before 8

sunday night. while police say 4 children were inside of the home. >>a dramatic scene unfolding any san jose neighborhood after police say they first responded to a call about a domestic violence sunday night 9-1-1. call taker could hear children crying in the background of the color desperately awaited help. >>that caller, according to san jose police was the wife of the suspect. 44 year-old her act, leo mejia, san jose officers were able to safely get me. he his wife and 4 children out of the home. but one family member who tried to intervene stabbed with a kitchen knife. police chief paul joseph revealed on monday that officers found mememememej inside of a bedroom hiding under a pile of clothing. officers gave multiple commands to show his hands and warned him that force may be used if he did not comply. officers use force because me here raised a kitchen knife at officers. an officer used a

state leaders from san mateo county are now calling upon embattled sheriff christina corpus to resign. >>sasasasasay impacts public safety. a scathing report released last week detailed the shares alleged abuse of power, including retaliation, intimidation and racism. last week, corpus declared during a council meeting that she would step down. she also promoting her chief of staff there who she's accused of having a relationship with to assist in a sheriff in response to the state leaders, corpus reiterated that she had no intention of stepping down saying in part, i am disappointed but not surprised that more elected officials have decided to pile on me and my office. in oakland, there are growing calls for local leaders to avoid making drastic cuts to city services. today a group of city workers rallied at city hall and tomorrow the council is set to receive an updated report on oakland's finances along with suggestions on how balance the

budget. oakland faces a projected budget shortfall of around 93 million dollars. and as a result of this, the city is considering making significant cuts to city services. this includes the police and fire departments which are by far oakland's largest expenses and the areas where cuts will likely be made. no way that our administration can sit up here and say that they want safe and clean. >>and then turn around and balance their budget on the backs of the workers that perform the services. >>thworkrkrkrkrkers acknowledge oakland is facing a financial crunch and offered their ideas for turning things around. they suggest among other things that the city reform spending such as staying within budget when paying police overtime instead of a more robust rainy day fund for the next time. there is a budget shortfall. san francisco mayor like daniel lurie has announced his transition team. some of the members include openai ceo sam altman and former san francisco fire chief joanne

7.7.7.7.7.45 last night after c a domestic incident. when they got here, they saw suspect wielding a knife. they tried to. if you use the situation, but they claim that that person refused to drop his or her knife and they felt threatened at some point where an officer or officers opened fire on the suspect. but it did not end there. instead, they say the suspect went back inside the home. they had to deal with it for several hours. this barricade situation. finally, they were able to get the suspect to give up, rushed the suspect to the hospital. and at last in critical condition. we don't know the motive behind this as far as the domestic violence. but we do know that officers were not injured by this and it does not appear anybody inside was drororororopped off at around 7 o'clock in the morning. they seem extremely tired. but safe back to you. >>a storm is on the way in our region tonight. the north bay expect to get the brunt of this week's storm. people are

being encouraged there to take tion before the rain arrives. kron four's terisa stasio has more on the preparar >>torrential rains, flooding frosty temperatures. the bay-area poised to face an onslaught of wicked weather this we. upwards of 20 inches of rain at the top of some of sonoma mendocino county ranges. all that water flows into the small streams pushes downward areas like santa rosa should be able to handle a lot of the excess water itself. but those low lying areas around santa rosa may have a lot of problems in the north bay community, such as santa rosa are getting ready. this is video from last winter storm. >>forcing residents to seek sandbags to deal with flooding. >>we're looking upwards of at least locally 3 to 4 inches in santa rosa from tomorrow. tuesday night through thursday with another at least 2 to 3 inches possible friday into saturday. so that's a lot of

be going down in defeat. capitol correspondent eytan wallace joins us with reaction from the no on 32 side and shares why organizers with yes on 32 side say they are not conceding. >>yeah, prompt 32 would have is wage to $18 an hour. supporters of the measure say there are still more votes left to count. but opponents of prop 32 say it's currently losing and based on their calculations, it will fail by rejecting prof 32. but i think there. >>voters are saying enough is enough. california restaurant association president and ceo on the sharing that analysis as he and fellow prop 32 opponents officially declared victory. if passed, the measure would have sed d d d d the statewide minimum wage from its current $16 per hour to $18 per hour for all employees by 2026. after that, the minimum wage would go up annually based on cost of living increases. but

hydrogen storage unit in north america. and it's been up and running here in the mojave desert since january of 2023. >>in fact, it's the only one in the state. this unit alone can power an average sized home for a month. the project is being funded by the california energy commission. has state officials look for innovative new ways to create more clean energy. so how does it work? provides energy to power. the solar panels, which is combined with water and fed into the 20 foot storage center. that's where hydrogen is creat stored as powder called metal hydride. once the demand for power increases the metal hydride are converted into hydrogen gas, which turns into electricity using fuel cells. the only waste from the process is water clean enough to drink engineers say these metal hydride can be stored for decades. providing peace of mind will never be in the dark ect manager chris tester says this type of energy could be a game-changer

>>governor newsom signed a bill into law allowing cannabis cafes, but that law states that local jurisdictions can decide if they want to actually m. tuesda afternoon, the sacramento county council will vote on a potential new pilot program that would allow the cannabis smoking lounges to operate at dispensaries. the current law only allows residents to spoke in their private residences. reporter juliet smith has a preview of the upcoming vote. >>good evening. i am at a cannabis dispensary in midtown, sacramento inside this room that the owner tells me she's hoping to turn into one of these cann lounges. now over here, she's hoping to have some sort of a stage set for live music. meanwhile, over here, she is hoping to put a nonalcoholic bar for people to come and check ouome get a chance to speak with some public hehehehehealth expe today and they shared some concerns about smoke inhalation. meanwhile, the owner of this cannabis dispensary says she believes
