>>meantime, de la salle high school, a private all-boys school in concord received a similar threat which was soon declare on founded. school officials say a phone call came in around noon and someone claimed there was a pipe bomb on campus. students were immediately evacuated and law enforcement was notified. school got the all clear around 2 this afternoon as students were released from campus. san francisco unified school district leaders meeting tonight. it's the last school board meeting before students and staff. go on break. the board is expected to vote on mergers and closures very soon, even though it wasn't brought up tonight, they did recap the budget, which is the crux of the reason for these closures, many students and their families took the opportunity to voice their concerns as well as educators before the bar goes on. holiday school officials discuss how they were going to stabilize the deficit, mainly the school closures that lie ahead. and in total, 13 schools will be impacted in this next school year. 3 will officially close.

very nervous about any destruction and sure enough it happened down the hill from his house. we do know that the homeowner was not home at the time. they frantically searched for anybody inside. they didn't find anybody. and then they looked up the address and then they called and called and called fortunately they were able to come into contact with the woman. she is safe. nobody was inside the home at the time it damaged that house. it partially damaged the house next to it. and a 3rd house when all the branches just broke off of the truck and went into the home as far as the outside the lawn, but not damaged as far as the 3rd house is concerned. let me show you another location. the winds not only just whipping at this particular area, it was all through berkeley. in fact, a tree fell on top of a pickup truck not too far from this location. this is near uc berkeley and the car also

>>the bay bridge lights will soon be coming back on after they were shut off 2 years ago. the display was too costly to continue, but that's all changed. thanks to millions of dollars in donations. kron four's rob nesbitt reports on when the lights which will be turned on. >>drivers may have noticed some work being done on the bay bridge behind me. that's because led lights are already being installed on the bridges. polls and not just for those who look at the bridge, but drivers may also get a vantage point of the display the bay bridge. lights will soon be returning. the nonprofit eliminate that's in charge of the lights confirmed the return tuesday luminaid founder ben davis says starting next year there will be a similar display as the one that ran for 10 years. people will see is in essence the same day like that. they know and love. >>they're going to be a white only monochromatic feel that jenny moving abstracted patterns that are non repeating the bay bridge lights were shut off 2 years ago because of a lack of

funding. >>but davis says more than 1000 people donated 11 million dollars to bring them back. the quality of the old lights also made them difficult to keep on. but there will be upgrades that allow the newer led lights to withstand the harsh conditions high above the bay custom engineering to steadily these that are designed to do well over time. >>perform flawlessly for a minimum of 10 years. and so we're very excited to be evolve in the artwork in this way. installation has already started with certain lanes of the bridge, shutting down late at night from 10:00pm to 05:00am to allow crews time and space to work. most magical, intense jobs you you can think of to be up in the middle of san francisco bay at night on top of the cables of the bay bridge, creating beauty for the rest of the world to see some the display won't just be visible for those around the bridge. crews are also working to find a way to wrap the lights around polls so that drivers can see the lights as well. we think this can be delivered safely and actually be a magical experience. it doesn't cause driver distraction and maybe icreases attention and really lets you enter san francisco

like someone cared enough to even have beds in there and a good samaritan called it in. and then napa county animal shelter brought them there for safety. and then the next day our team went up and we brought back 9 of those 2 here to our shelter in are inhumane. they're now up for adoption there in great shape. we've given him all babson flea treatment and they've had their vaccines and they're doing well. but it was a pretty sad start for these guys. yeah, 27 of them. >>found there in some crates that look like you're saying they had some proper care. >>with some beds in there, at least are they all like pure chihuahuas? are they mix? is are a range in age. >>yeah, that they're mixes and they do rate range in age. apparently there was some young young puppies that the not shelter has gotten into foster, which is the best thing to do for a little puppies. but a couple of the ones that we have their h one age to up to age 6. seemed to be in great shape. super cute.

x of chihuahuas. and you could tell some cute breeds in there. we love the mexes, frankly, but of course, that's because we work in a shelter. but really, really sweet temperament. so these guys will probably find homes quickly, but it's a great chance to remind people that there are at so many animals in shelters waiting for homes. so we really hope that people, if they don't adopt these dogs, there's plenty of others that need homes. and where are some of them? not all. 27 of them are up for adoption. sounds like you've got some of them. a foster home look specially the puppies. if >>someone is looking to try to help out to foster or adopt them. which shelters are they after they've all got spread out? well, some might have gone to other shelters or other rescues. napa. the napa, a humane society is the one that has been leading this so they would have all that information. we do have some here on. >>we still have 4 more. we had 9, but they've going like hot so they can contact us at marin, humane dot org or they can certainly look at the napa county shelter and find them there. but again, there's you

know, shelters are just overwhelmed everywhere. so it's a great time to bring calm a little friend, if not a dog than a cat or rabbit. great thing to do, especially around the holidays. and finally here for who. >>i know we're trying to get pups adopted and just feel like he will not have any problem doing that for the person felt that they had no other option. but to leave almost 30 dogs on the side of the road. will they face any trying to find this person? hold them responsible are to be trying to help out the pops. >>that that is up 10, that napa county, they would pursue that. and yes, we usually try to abandonment is a crime but really what we try to stress is that there are options if people are feeling overwhelmed, they should always contact the shelter closest for them. even those shelters are pretty fall. they can always usually provide help people should never resort to leaving animals on the side of the road were very lucky that these dogs were

hawaii's most popular shorelines from erosion is underway in oahu. reporter alina lee has more on the plans. >>city and state officials believe 5 and a half miles of beach on oahu have been lost due to erosion. kailua residents are noticing it's happening to their shorelines as well. the ironwood trees. i mean, they're here for a long time. used to all the way out with the erosion of the beach and now we've or we've had to cut them down. you because it's unsafe. now. >>it used to be all grass. and now it's all said done one point, you know, covered the sidewalk. i feel like obviously a lot of nature and the beauty f the speech will erode away to stabilize the shoreline on the lani kai side of kailua beach park, city, state and community leaders will relocates and remove non-functioning park infrastructure and plant vegetation. starting january

outgoing oakland mayor sheng thao and california. waste solutions in the summer. the business and taos home where both raided by the fbi in june. kron four's dan kerman has the latest. >>a court filing from the office of former alameda county district attorney pamela price. so just the owners of california waste solutions funded negative campaign fliers against shane mayoral election to get tao - elected and benefit their business. it was in june of this year. the federal investigators raided california waste solutions. the home of its owners. the family and the home of oakland mayor sheng thao. but details about the reasons for the raid remain sealed. but a new court filing from the da's office in another case reveals several allegations back in january. former alameda county district attorney pamela price filed a lawsuit against mario juarez alleging he passed bad checks. the da alleges juarez failed

to pay a marketing company for printing in sending negative political mailers against 2022 mayoral candidates, loren taylor and ignacio de la fuente in a court filing monday, the da's offices in october of 2022. juarez bank account received a $75,000 check from california. waste solutions. then juarez proceeds to create and send the mailers to help sheng thao get elected to the oakland mayor's office. the filing goes on to say that after the november 2022 election, juarez received an additional $170,000 from abc security, the don family and california waste solutions. these companies have valuable contracts with the city of oakland and an interest in the election of then candidate for mayor sheng thao. juarez was essentially a conduit for these companies to help the mayor and preserve and enhance the company's access to taxpayer funded contracts. the court documents also indicate

till the end of the year dry out there right now. little slow northbound one-on-one at this time. but overnight tonight, yes, return to some of that frost in the valley. robin creasing clouds today. there's even a chance of a light shower late in the day. i think rain overnight tomorrow night and into thursday morning that unsettled weather into the weekend. in fact, a bigger storm coming. this is the one that's likely punched through for tomorrow. as we head into the evening hours, rain likely to begin to pick up and then moderate rain overnigh wtomorro into thursday morning. then we'll dry things out. so high pressure is going to be getting out of the way. and that ridge kind of moving out of town that allow the storm system finally make its way in and that will open the door to a series of storms. you see it here comes up first one making its way onshore as we head toward tomorrow evening. that rain coming in. some snow over the sierra nevada to then tapering off. but then right away, we got this bigger storm on the way starting on friday in the way things are setting going to be seeing a lot of rain, far northern california, that rain could be moving in on friday in the north bay first and really come the main
