figure out the jury can either acquit name many or they can put him behind bars anywhere between 4 years to life a very tumultuous process for these jurors. after more than 50 hours of deliberation, a unanimous decision has been made by a san francisco jury in the murder trial of nima, many. >>the man accused of stabbing and killing cash up founder bob lee. jurors have been considering 4 possible verdicts guilty of first-degree murder, guilty of voluntary manslaughter. guilty of involuntary manslaughter or not guilty. legal analyst steven clark has been closely following this trial and gives us his predictions. so i'm not expecting first degree. >>and i'm not expecting a not guilty because this jury worked so hard and it took so long to get to this point. clark explains the worst case scenario for the 39 year-old. if the jury returns a verdict of first-degree murder, many is looking at 26 years to life

in prison. if the jury decided it was not premeditated but was second-degree murder, then it would be 16 to life if the many is charged with involuntary manslaughter. he faces up to 4 years behind bars. voluntary manslaughter would be up to 12 years. 43 year-old lee was stabbed in the heart under the bay bridge on april 4th of last year during the trial, many took to the stand testifying that lee pulled out the knife first swung at him and many redirected the knife back to chest in self-defense. and the defendant claims he never called 9-1-1 because he didn't know lee was injured. and the big question, i think that this jury >>was asked about was who brought the knife to the altercation. that is a key. and i think that was something they work very the defense had a competing narrative for everything. the prosecution put on witness stand. and i think that was key. here is.

inches of rain over the mountain tops. but looks like things are winding down with this storm system. and that's good news for us. getting a little bit of a break. but still some fog out there right now. and some drizzle be had still that's very active out there in the middle of pacific. so eventually some of this is going to make its way through. but we're going to get a much-needed break. here's the long-range forecast. high pressure building in next couple of days. we dry things out. that is good news for us because we could certainly use it. but as we get in toward the weekend, everything changes that next round of rain begins to move in on saturday. that will be some heavier rainfall saturday morning. but that really just opens the door. more rain expected on sunday, possibly into monday and a much larger storm on tuesday. it is going to be a very active holiday week. >>thanks, lauren swell now to an update out of wisconsin, a teacher and a teenage student, our debt this following a shooting at a at a private christian school. investigators say the suspected shooter is a 15 year-old girl who is also dead. police say they got a

call of an active shooter from a second great earlier today. the rampage happened at abundant life. christian school in madison. that's a small private school with only about 400 students. police say 6 people were also hurt in the shooting, including 2 students who are in critical condition tonight. they are not saying if the victims were targeted, but right now police are still investigating at the school and the suspect's home as well. back here in sonoma county, one person was injured after their car went down an embankment today and landed upside down. the chp says this happened as the driver was heading southbound on 101 in cloverdale. and in fairfield, a student's car stalled out at the solano community college after they tried driving through the flooded parking lot. there as you can see, officers say the student was able to get the car safely, but they're reminding drivers to always be careful since the standing water can be deeper than it appears. and the south

power outages in the bay area. in nevado. lindsey ford kron. 4 news. >>high winds and sound like an earthquake like the world is collapsing. >>we've been having a lot of wilde's rather. you can see they're rare sight in california. do touches down in santa cruz county, injuring 5 people and damaging several cars. this happened over the weekend and scotts valley. the tornado flipped cars than power poles knocked down power lines and sent broken tree branches flying around everywhere. and a fire in milpitas forces. an animal shelter to evacuate and finished surgeries outside in the rain staffers at humane society. silicon valley say the fire broke out this morning in the back of the building, damaging the laundry room, a few offices and medical areas. the good news, though, no animal staffers or volunteers were hurt. >>a team that is really well trained and knows how to deal with these kinds of things. and we absolutely have a great

>>update now on a deadly hit and run investigation. antioch police are releasing a photo of the car that investigators say ultimately they believe killed a woman crossing the street back in october. kron 4 asleep took all shares reaction from the victim's sister. san mateo district attorney is siding with the sheriff's deputy who was arrested last month saying no crime was committed and that the arrests should have never happened. kron four's rob

nesbitt reports on now how the arrests happened. at the very same time. the deputy was calling for a sheriff. christina corpus is resignation. >>deputy carlos tapie a is the president of the san mateo county deputy sheriff's association and was one of the first people to speak out against the alleged abuse of power and the sheriff's office. his arrest on november 12 was difficult. but on monday he breathe a sigh of relief, wiping away tears from his eyes. san mateo county deputy carlos tapie, spoke monday, thanking the county's da for investigating the felony charges against him. >>of time card fraud, violation grand theft and obtaining money by false pretenses and grateful district attorney's office. >>recognizing these what they were. another 10 retaliation from sheriff corpus. i express loss of confidence in our administration. >>according to the da's office, deputy was accused of clocking in hours while conducting work for the deputy sheriff's association da stephen wagstaffe conducted a month-long investigation

interviewing several witnesses, including tapie a coming to the conclusion that there was insufficient evidence and that should have never been arrested. there had been some this coating, but that been going on. >>with the prior president of the association, so was it was a process air. but in terms of criminal conduct our conclusion was pretty black and white that that did not occur. calls for san mateo county sheriff christina corpus to resign started after a scathing 400 page report. >>was done by the county's independent investigator accusing the sheriff of racism, retaliation, homophobia, abuse of power and having a romantic relationship with the assistant sheriff tapie was arrested the same day the report was released. the sheriff releasing a statement monday on the exoneration of tapie saying in part, quote, while the criminal investigation has concluded a separate internal review will take place, which is standard protocol in the arrest involves an employee. the internal review will be conducted by an independent 3rd party investigator to ensure it is a fair process.

in sacramento, one elementary school student stabbed another student with a small knife during class on monday. >>reporter kimberly cruz has the latest. >>we spoke to several parents earlier today. some of them

deciding to pick up their kids early from school. and when the arrived, it had been about an hour or so since they were alerted to the incident that happened at the school that you right behind me. so as you can imagine, the re very emotional and also just confused as to how something like this could happen. it's sad to see this happen been hot parents at this elementary school. we left in shock after finding out one student attacked a classmate stepping the student on the back of the shoulder with the kitchen knife. that doesn't seem like something would happen at the school. could not like it's 600 students in a nice neighborhood. >>in very late community oriented. all all as parents know each other. brian. he's a spokesperson with the sacramento city unified school district telling fox 40 the stabbing happened any split classroom with about 20 to 30 students where half of the students are 5th graders in the other half are 6th graders. of course, those students who witnessed it was quite traumatic for them. we're making sure that they're getting the counseling services that they need at this time.

>>we moved them into another classroom for the remainder of the day or at least until their parents, if they chose to came to pick them up. allen was one of those parents who decided to take his 2 boys home early following the incident. it said i have to put aside and do it they got times. i'm living my i think every parent is saturday the school district stressing this was an isolated incident. when i was told is that there had been some verbal disagreements between these 2 students in the past. but beyond that, i don't know anything isolated incident. it's not reflective of this school campus and certainly not respect collective of the safety district-wide. but safety still remains top of mind for several parents. i know we have a police station down the street from the it should have one dedicated to the school. >>and maybe. pay more attention to interactions between students. sacramento police says the school was not placed on lockdown and the attacker was detained by officers. that student is that student be referred disciplinary actions. so

>>there a san francisco start-up sees opportunity in other insurers are refusing to cover properties throughout california. according to the wall street journal, a company called stand insurance has raised about 30 million dollars so far from venture capitalists. if you look at the company's website, it says that uses both ai and physics to determine a fair price to cover a home. however, when you a little more closely, it seems like this is more boutique coverage stand ceo dan preston told the journal that he could cover a 3 million dollar home in a high fire risk area for between 12,015 $1000 a year. so this is obviously very, very expensive. but when you look a little bit deeper, well, there are questions, for example, a catastrophic fire is very, very expensive over the last decade, about 70 billion dollars in property losses have been recorded in california as a result of wildfire damage and suddenly that plucky little start-up

absolutely. yeah. i can now add to move something on my computer. on on the top left through the rain. it's a little bit hard to see, but we've got. >>the southeastern part of our site. that's where we have a little 10 tower that could have some instruments in it. that's measuring the amount of water that's draining out of the bottom of the snow pack. so that tells us how much water is moving through. not only from that rain but also from melt on the top, right? that's our main tower there that showing all of our instrumentation and things of that nature right now. you see the floor as well, which is a great, which is great news because we don't have to go up there too frequently and shovel that off on the bottom left there. that's actually pointed at castle creek. so that starts at castle peak flows through our site and then eventually becomes the south fork of the yuba river. and so you can see a snow cat garage. there on the right hand side. but on the left that goes back to the peak, a

hours of deliberation, a unanimous decision has been made by a san francisco jury in the murder trial of nima, many. >>the man accused of stabbing and killing cash up founder bob lee. jurors have been considering 4 possible verdicts guilty of first-degree murder, guilty of voluntary manslaughter. guilty of involuntary manslaughter or not guilty. legal analyst steven clark has been closely following this trial and gives us his predictions. so i'm not expecting first degree. >>and i'm not expecting a not guilty because this jury worked so hard and it took so long to get to this point. clark explains the worst case scenario for the 39 year-old. if the jury returns a verdict of first-degree murder, many is looking at 26 years to life in prison. if the jury decided it was not premeditated but was second-degree murder, then it would be 16 to life if the many is charged with involuntary manslaughter. he

faces up to 4 years behind bars. voluntary manslaughter would be up to 12 years. 43 year-old lee was stabbed in the heart under the bay bridge on april 4th of last year. >>during the trial, many took to the stand testifying that lee pulled out the knife first swung at him and the many redirected the knife back to his chest in self-defense. and the defendant claims he never called 9-1-1 because he didn't know lee was injured. and the big question, i think that this jury was asked about was who brought the knife. >>to the altercation. that is the key. and i think that was something they work very the defense had a competing narrative for everything. the prosecution put on witness stand. and i think that was key years. well, clark also tells me there's a risk in delaying the verdict reading because overnight a juror could have second thoughts and a verdict doesn't stand until it's read out loud in the courtroom. so it's not over until it's over. the plan is

says since 1958, tornadoes happen recorded alone cruz county monday. neighbors and scotts valley are now still cleaning up the pieces. kron 4 charles clifford has the details. >>well, here in scott valley on monday, neighbors are cleaning up following last week's tornado behind me here you can see one of the vehicles that was badly damaged by the storm. and i talked to some neighbors who say they're just really happy that nobody was seriously injured. monday morning crews continue to clean up near downtown scotts valley. according the national weather service, ef one tornado with winds around 90 miles per hour touched down here. >>around one, 39 saturday afternoon. this is surveillance video of the tornado as it wreaked havoc along herman road. the tornado flipped cars been power. poles knocked down power lines and sent broken tree branches falling everywhere. 5 people were hurt. fortunately, none were seriously injured. and all of a sudden it got dark. petty bonner lives in a mobile home park about 200 yards away from where the tornado landed.

this one could be a big one. this one comes on christmas eve of all days. lot of folks going to be traveling. that would probably pack a punch, some gusty winds and some heavy rain falls that moves through christmas day looks dry. but after that, more rain possibly on thursday. so long range models start to pick up on that to this is for the forecast between the 22nd and the 26th next week. above normal precipitation is in the forecast through that period. in fact, going to start to see a lot of rain amounts begin to show boy, you start to look to the north again. we're talking 4, maybe 5 inches of rain in the bay area. couple inches rain in san francisco. you know what that means in the north bay. they're gonna probably see another 3 inches. plus in some of the areas are too. the next few days we get that much-needed break. we get in the weekend. of course, we've got the beginning of winter on saturday. looks like that will be another wet day, at least to start the day. then that rain storm kind of open things up late the day on monday into tuesday. more rain on the way, least. it'll be dry. it looks like for christmas day.
