12:08 pm
it's now and here in the bay area, just a little bit of light drizzle says they show you here on storm tracker as we kind of take up a picture of a moment, right? that happening right now. you really don't see a whole lot coming down. just a few little pops on the radar. some of it may not even be hitting the ground. but what it's done is kind of leave us a little bit drizzly and a little bit unsettled. and it is the precursor to what's coming later this evening, which is another round of showers. so right now it's a little bobby out there, right? it's a little warmer than it was yesterday were in the warm sector of this storm. notice the roads are a little damp. so that doesn't mean that they will be a little bit slick out there. but temperature wise, we're already up to 61 degrees in san jose. you can see 50's in san francisco all the way down to half moon bay. so we are in a position of temperatures being pretty nice today. but the weather itself being gray and a little drizzly and that a little rainy. but this is a difference in temperatures in 24 hours ago now. so we're up about 7 degrees in san francisco. you can see even higher than that and some other spots across the bay highs today will be above average in spots and about where we should be in others.
12:09 pm
right? so if you head out of the south bay, san jose for 64 degrees with 59 in san francisco, 60 up in santa rosa. same story in the inner east bay looking out for some of those low 60's. all right. let's talk about this rain that's coming tonight. when you take you hour by hour. so i think what you do, ok, early afternoon, but it's tough. once we get to the rush hour there, that's about 6 o'clock. here comes the showers right through the north bay. you can see them rolling through into the evening. now taking you into the overnight. so that's about midnight. and you see a few of these pockets could be heavy by the time we get to tomorrow morning. now we're back to that drizzle and the cloud cover and not so much seeing heavier showers come down and that takes us through the day on our friday. as far as totals are concerned this overnight, it's going to be significant for the north bay expecting about an inch of rain elsewhere, looking out for about a half an inch of rain, exception of that being down the santa cruz mountains. they can see that inch as well. there's more on the other side of that. plus, we've got some danger the coast. i'll have those details coming up. all right, looking forward to it. thank you. >> this afternoon live look

12:18 pm
through it over the next few days tonight, we're going to see this drizzle turn into rain overnight. showers coming in really coming at about 6 o'clock tonight and pushing through the overnight. so we wake up tomorrow with some rain and we've also got gusty wind that will accompany this system as it rolls through. then we get into saturday. it's more drizzly showers. kind of like what we're seeing today. and then we've got another hit coming in overnight saturday into sunday. however, do you see monday? just want to point that out. it looks like we are going to clear out and actually have a nice round of some weather. so between now and tomorrow, we're talking about picking up about three-quarters of an inch of rain in san francisco about an inch in the north bay. and you could see about between a half an inch and 3 quarters and the rest of the bay area. now, this is just the first push of some rain that's going to come in so that your system tonight. but then we've also that friday into saturday and a little bit of sunday. and this is what we're talking about. overall total. so adding another inch of rain to that on top of what we're going to get tonight. so tonight should be the bigger push of the next couple of days show you the next 7 days. this pattern bringing us that

now, it's all about soaking in the joy on display like celebrating. >> well, that was just beautiful and 12. 45 this afternoon live look outside at the transamerica. building in san francisco can see some overcast skies out there. i definitely. few overcast skies are also seeing a bit of a turned up coast weeks. we've got a northwest swell coming in and that has left us with a high surf advisory. >> not just for today, but as we go through the weekend through 04:00pm on sunday, looking out for waves that could be 20 to 30 feet high. so obviously we've had this very recently, you know, the dangers, but just want to reiterate that sneaker waves can come up and sweep you off your feet very quickly. taking out happen. bay, the bay itself is relatively calm. but if you take your eye over here, you can start to see where some of these waves are churned up a little bit over here. and generally it's those beaches that are those northwest facing beaches that we start to see a lot of that trouble wave heights right now about 14 feet off the coast of point raise. so we're starting to see a little bit of influence from that. we're
12:47 pm
also seeing drizzle, right? we've had that throughout the morning and we're staying relatively quiet right now as we look at the north bay here down into san francisco, heading over to the east bay, just a little bit of a sprinkle that is out there that will change as we get later into the afternoon and early evening hours. and we start to see this next system rolls through. obviously also have that snow in the sierra that we're talking about. wind is not bad right now. you can see it is a typical onshore flow. but as we see the system move through, this wind is going to pick up tonight into tomorrow. so taking about 10, 30 and start to see a more southerly component to it really gets going in the overnight hours. and that means you wake up tomorrow, very gusty. so if you're you know, going across any bridges, you might feel that just be ready for it will start to improve as we work our way into friday afternoon. so future cast here telling you that. yeah, we've got a couple more hours before this kicks off. this is about 5.30. we'll start to see some of those showers move from the northwest to the southeast. going through the evening into the overnight. i think that's when we could see some of the heavier showing about 11:00pm
12:48 pm
right now. and then taking into the overnight. you see it starts to lighten up, leaving us tomorrow morning with a little bit of drizzle out there. and certainly some of that wind still left over another hit coming our way as we get into friday evening. this one does not look as potent as the one we're going to see tonight. but you can see it just really stays unsettled right through the weekend. that's your saturday. you're taking a look at their so rain totals between now and tomorrow. we're talking about an inch in the north bay between about half an inch and 3 quarters of an inch elsewhere. the exception to that santa cruz mountains, which will likely get a little bit more as well. but then we're going to add to those totals as we have the success of systems rolling into the woods all said and done. we're looking between, you know, an inch and 2 inches of rain to pick up between now and sunday. so where does that leave us on the when do we dry out meter? well, let's take a look at this. first of all, you can and a big change in the pattern, right? so we're going to get into a dry position. gonna have those cooler overnight lows with us as well. but the next few days and that does include kwanzaa, which is starting today. so happy kwanzaa. if you celebrate next few days, you can want to keep that umbrella
