at the door. the north bay right now. so more rain on the way got a bigger storm coming saturday night into sunday. but you got to get away forecast for you if headed out to sfo right now. >> of course, there's been a lot of delays and some of those connecting flights across the country. sfo right now, though, looking pretty good. no delays being reported sfo, mostly cloudy skies. just a light wind out of the west northwest at 6 miles an hour. >> spots around the country yet to get a connecting flight to chicago o'hare. you may see some delays there as well. and you see some cold temperatures settling in some 30's around parts of the country as well as some cold weather and some storms likely to cause more delays there as well too. in the more of a let's get you get away forecast for you if you're headed that direction about 59 degrees. moderate 59 in common. a lot of clouds tomorrow and again, watch out for some big-time surf along the coastline. those large swells also affecting that area further south southern california, going to see some windy conditions over some of the mountain tops. the temperatures, though, not bad at all. 64 in san diego about 65 degrees in pasadena. and of

course, they've had a ton of snow in the high country and be nice to get out there and enjoy. do expect some storm clouds roll back in specially late on saturday night into sunday. so if you're headed up there for the weekend, be prepared. that coming back. things may get a little bundle up there as we're going to see the storm clouds roll in right now. expecting highs tomorrow there in the 40's should be a mostly dry day there tomorrow. but again on sunday here comes that mix of rain and snow in some gusty winds to go along with it. the good news is we head toward the end of the year, the beginning, the new year got some sunshine coming in. looks like plenty that fresh powder to ski on the roadway should be open and speaking of snow palisades, hey, they had a foot of snow in the last 24 hours and they've had 69 inches on the depths on the ground. 55 inches right now. boreal they've got 34 trails open 7 lifts as well. look good with plenty of power as you make your way to sugar bowl. 75 inches on the ground. some great news there. and 76 trails are currently open traveling around the state. yeah. maybe a little rough as you move up in far northern california to see some rain.

towering waves killing an estimated 230,000 people. the day after christmas. the victims of the disaster are being honored and survivors are sharing their memories. reporter rachel menitoff spoke with one of them. >> somber memorials commemorating 20 years since the deadliest disaster in modern history in 2004, the day after christmas tsunami struck coastal communities around the indian ocean. it was triggered by a 9.2 magnitude earthquake on the seafloor of indonesia. the sheer force of what became known as the boxing day quakes 10 to 100 foot wall of water into local fishing communities and through popular tourist attractions, indonesia, sri lanka, india and thailand were among the hardest hit in all 220,000 people were killed and millions more displaced was the slowest longest. >> fastest period of time in my life. and just remember

have fired head coach mike brown in the midst of a 13 in 18 start to the season. that news first reported by espn. kings have lost 5 straight games most recently blowing a 19 point the pistons last night at home. now, brown, as you remember, was the warriors associate head coach from 2016 to 22 before he took over in sacramento. he won the nba's coach of the year award unanimously just 2 years ago after he led the kings to their first playoff bid since 2006, sacramento signed brown to a three-year extension in june. so they're still on the hook for a lot of guaranteed money. brown and warriors head coach steve kerr are still tight. and kerr spoke about that news tonight. >> but it just seems. so shocking when a guy is unanimous coach of the year. year and half ago. and when you think about where that franchise was i got there. where they've been the last couple years, the job that he and his staff have done it

night and early this morning looking from the east bay hills, some of that patchy fog beginning to form. not going to be long, though, are going to be talking about some raindrops drop into the bay area so far. that is just to the north. but it's about the clip. parts of the north bay and that will be moving in as we head through the evening hours and driving for the south throughout the night. so, yeah, we're going to see that begin to drop in. nothing really heavy from this one is going to be light storm for much of the bay or if you see some showers at all, that rain line will shift to the north and then all of a sudden come drop right back in late saturday night into early sunday morning. not gonna come through with some gusty winds. some heavier amounts of rainfall and a kind of scoots out of town. so by the afternoon on sunday are drying out. so overall, the pattern looks like is going to begin to dry out as we get in towards sunday afternoon. that trend take us in toward the end of the year and the beginning of the new and highs tomorrow. going to be the 50's and the 60's watch out for a few scattered showers return to some sunshine and some chilly temperatures, least by day and by night. but some dry weather returning as we look toward next week.
