so you could see there some patchy fog out there, but visibility not too bad. and here is that system right to our north. very quiet on our radar right now. but that will change very soon. so here's the future cast model you can start to see in about an hour. 11 30's, some pre frontal showers, some slight rain and mostly cloudy skies. and then around the 04:00am hour. take a look at santa rosa and sonoma county. parts of napa county. you start to see the intensity of the rain jump and that will be the case from about the 04:00am to 06:00am hours here becomes more widespread by that time. and because of this, there's a flood watch in place and that coulturn into a flood flash flood warning depending on the rate of the rain. so around 09:30am. it's we get a break in the north bay and it starts to move on east. we start to see drier conditions around the afternoon. but the evening looks much better setting the stage for a nice dry new year's eve celebrations that we have to get through this first. we're about almost an inch of rain.

so notice not a whole lot from this system, but it's really going to be the short amount of time. and we've since we've had waves of rain already. the ground is saturated. so not only is there going to be some rain to go with that. we also have strong wind gusts as well. so flood watch in the north bay. and this is until noon tomorrow. so even after the rain stops, we still see that runoff. so winds now it starts to kick up right around the 04:00am hour. so we're going to start off some with some gusty conditions and it intensifies as that front makes its way through the bay area 30 miles per hour. gusts here along the coastline, even the higher elevation. so it's going to be a breezy day. and this is as packed. yeah. just keep that in mind. you want to check on your flight if you have that as well. and then now yet we still have the high waves out there as well. and just a quick check on thetwave links right now. the wave heights, we have a 20 it to like feet up there and then about 10 to 14 feet closer to the bay area. so tomorrow's highs, we're talking upper

10:20 pm
whether it's maybe combining some agencies into one or 2 buildings rather than each having their own. in addition to that, we've heard the doge representatives talk about losing federal workers are getting rid of hundreds of thousands, if not millions of federal workers and again, in order for them to do that, they're going to face serious legal challenges because many federal workers in their contracts have the right to work remotely and comer. the chairman of the committee here, the oversight committee acknowledges that's going to be something they will run into legal challenges. so here's what he told me. and this will probably head to court. but in the court of public opinion, i think the people that work hard every day and have to go to work and pay taxes. >> i don't think they're very happy with the fact that such a high percentage of the federal workforce. is is working from home. in the end, they're not held accountable luck. the employees who work for the betterment who have to go to the office every day. now, the other side to the
10:21 pm
story is that unions representing these workers say just because they're working from home doesn't mean theyhre any less efficient in the way they work and the jobs. they do some point out that members of congress often work from home, not just in dc and they say that to address the problem of these buildings that are costing so much in federal dollars. solution is not to fill those buildings up. it is may be to consolidate them and to allow workers to continue working from home. so we know this is something that's going to be debated. what we do know is what it actually looks like in practice. once the new administration takes office in january. that is something we're certainly going to be watching. >> next on kron, 4 news at 10 and mother nature could put a damper on holiday travel plans as storms threaten to cause major delays and cancellations nationwide. meteorologist gayle ong. we'll be back with details on your forecast here at home. plus, president elect trump is now proposing to purchase other countries to
