unhoused people and we are talking dozens, if not hundreds of them along the waterways and they can do it. the law says they have the right to protect health and public safety but homeless advocates and the water district. they both agree on this. removing them will not solve the problem. it just moves in from one place to another that there is a need, obviously for long-term housing. so what they want to do is do outreach go along those waterways and they're very important because they don't want to be contaminated because obviously millions of people depend on the water for everyday use and they want to make sure that that remains clean. what they will do is move along those waterways work with the unhoused people to at the very least tell them to tidy up to make sure not to throw anything into the waterways. this is an ongoing problem. they have humanity behind this just because they can for now. it does not mean that they will remove the

6:15 am
significant because, of course, this is where we get all that water for california's reservoir is once it melts off in the spring, which helps to supply agricultural land at our homes with water through the summer months. the snow survey results show california snowpack stands at 110% of average for this time of year in the northern sierra and 39% of average of where we should be by april first, which is the end of the year. as of right now feeling okay. but if we don't get more storms, we'll need a progression of monthly storms to keep going because otherwise we will end up maybe similar under average by the end of the year. so up to this point, the northern sierra region has done very well with the snow pack of just over 160% of average for this time of year. but the central sierra is just a little behind at 94% of average, the southern sierra sitting further behind at 75%. >> and we're starting the day on a rainy note started in the

6:17 am
the first weekend of 2025, we'll be dry as a builds in and we even get some offshore winds flowing as we head through the week. it's going to be dry all week long, dry next weekend, too. and dry even after that. if you're thinking of heading up to this year, it's gonna be really tough in terms of driving. so really, i wouldn't recommend it today. we've got some gusty winds and images up to 100 mile per hour. plenty of snow. probably good idea to wait a day or 2 for that future rainfall totals. well, we're looking at over inch in eureka, not so impressive right across the bay area. less than a half an inch everywhere. that even includes less than half an inch in santa rosa. and yet that amount of rain is enough to cause some rises in the creeks and streams that are already swollen. still not expecting any major fund flooding with. that's just something to keep in mind. forecast highs today in the 50's pretty much yeah, santas a 60 degrees. but really it's going to be not much swing in the temperatures forecast for the next 3 days shows rain for today and then
