that dry desert air out to the coastline, most notably for southern california. low pressure right adjacent to la high pressure offshore and that gradient between the 2 just drags that dry air out towards the coast. that's what we're seeing here. that santa ana wind event in the middle of january and that without the winter rains is resulting in those rapid spreading fires locally, our winds calm down, which makes for a very pleasant field 60's all the way out at the coastline and plentiful sun all day long from the coast to our inland areas. do expect a good day to be venturing out spending that lunch break outside. these temperatures are well above average for this time of year. san jose at 67 for your high today, o%kland at 65 yesterday. santa rosa broke a record getting up to 72 degrees beating any january 7th, daytime high that we've seen as for next 7 days, temperatures do remain steadily on the warm side and steadily dry all the way through the end of next week.

that that the trying to prewar at your roof or the your lawn. lalawnwn that's not very effective in these kinds of conditions because the fire is pretty heating ahead of it. dry conditions. essentially the water is evaporating before the fire gets there and looking to see the water. what is happening e.now starting? >> maybe triple, go talk to them. but during that press conference, look, he's going don't that it's unsustainable to fight multiple wildfires from our hydrants that they just don't the water. they've been around the and then and then you lose the pressure. pressure. >> and in this case that they're they're changing out the nozzle. i don't know this. this is simply a case of of that, an equipment malfunction. but no, you see that there is no water pressure going through it right now. maybe though the fired back up. >> you know, i i think i think, yeah, i think he asked them. i o ink he asked them

hold the water pressure upon the change to the nozzle. if they had they stopped a while. so that could change. that is what i and is that it was that a propane tank or something in the foreground there. that's a that's also. >> one of the dangers isn't a chair. you know, that would make sense to because we've heard quite a bit of popping a, you know, in different areas and never know what it is. >> but yeah, it does look like a a maybe a burned out for pain tank. it's hard to tell whatever it is. but you when your you know, that's walking over inside the park a little ways down to get over here, you know, use hear, pop, pop, pop. yeah, you don't. and some of the ladder than others then and you don't know exactly what ever, you know. an what, what all that means are there they go. they're getting that water pressure again. they're they're trying to get this one out look at the number comes from the smoke on us a little bit. there. >> what esessusurere if we and could, if you could just pan over this way, you can see this house. we're in the driveway of it seems to be fine. but there's a garage attached to it right here. that is completely engulfed.
10:52 am
we just heard another pop there. yeah, we're going to back up a little bit here. >> euro, one of biggest dangers in these homes is the the embers fly into the eves of the home. once that happens, it is very difficult. and in these are hawind driven fires to stop it well, the beauty pasadena architecture is now turning out to be a detriment because these homes that were built in the 19, 100's 1920's, 1930's. >> there are eves. there rafters. there are openings. it's the style, if you will, of the homes. and there's a lot of post world war. 2 concrete homes as well. but there's a lot of openings and these things become very flammable and you could be seeing embers with the amber spray that go through one of those eaves. they can sit for 15, 20 minutes an hour and then catch fire a little bit later on. so even though you think you could be in the clear it's what you really
