10:10 pm
>> and what we know is that this is a matter of current version say, but this is also something that is going to have an impact for months and years to come. and on that point, i will also make note of the fact that sadly many insurance companies have canceled insurance. for a lot of the families who have been affected and will be affected, which is only going to delay workplace an added burden on their ability to recover. and i think that is an important point. that must be raised. and hopefully there can be some way to address that issue because these families, so many of them otherwise will not have the resources to recover in any meaningful way. and many of them lost everything. >> the palisades fire has destroyed some of the most expensive real estate in the country. more than 5,000 homes in that area were leveled by

10:18 pm
until further notice the concern over dry hydrants has raised some questions about how bay area officials can prevent that from happening here. yeah, retired fire chief from menlo park says it's not unusual to deal with water supply issues during a wildfire. >> however, he says it is important for fire departments to have good working relationships with water suppliers to be ready when disaster strikes. >> i don't know all the reasons of why they had the problems that they've had, but it would seem to me with with the forecasting for the severity of the winds. the potential for fire that they would have leaned in. to make sure that things were going to work. well, if they were worried about that, then you know, that bringing water tenders to make sure that you have a backup, they're doing that now. i know we have a water tanker that we've never sent out of the area and they're looking at some of that deficit in california right now. >> the former chief says that there should be an evaluation
