location near lake road. it's abt 4 les off a one-on-one. again, thiss a frontage road and it is traveled by thousands of people every hour just to give somebody an analogy closer to the bay area. it almost feels like vasco road, but a lot more constrained more constricted. not as wide as vasco road. let me show you video of the conditions this morning and you can see cars traveling along through this area. we do know that this was a collision involving 2 cars, according to the chp, one car crossed the center divider. there is not any concrete barriers. one car crossed the center divider, the other car, one car at 4 people. 3 of those people died in that car, including that 17 year-old person. and we do know that another person was in the other car course driving that

the golden gate bridge. we've been showing it to you for the last few days. we are chilly, though. so bundle up. we have 30's in livermore in santa rosa and 40's in oakland and san jose. san francisco, one of the warmest spots at 47 degrees this morning. >> winds are calm. we're seeing the single digits so we don't see the strong winds that we saw when we started the week and forecast highs pretty similar to what we've experiencing low 60's along our inland communities, mid 60's to upper 60's in the south bay, the bay shore and low 60's over by the coast. so very nice mild temperatures. and this is our weather pattern. high-pressure right off shore and we have low pressure in the south. so the this combination is bringing us dry, mild conditions, but also windy conditions down south as we've been talking about those wildfires in southern california. so quick check at the conditions here over at the palisades fire on the west side. you can see the winds are at 14 miles per hour and on the east side in altadena, the eaton fire that's at 9 miles per hour. we're still tracking some
6:17 am
critical fire weather. if you look at simi valley, which is under that red flag warning as well, you can see there's already of winds at 23 miles per hour or so. we still have a red flag warnings until 6 this evening. and part of that is apds red-flag warning that stands for particularly dangerous situation and to put things in perspective, this is very rare and it's only issued when there are tornadoes. so we're expecting 30 to 50 miles per hour. wind gusts around the fires and even gusts up to 70 miles per hour. so not out of the woods just yet, but we do see conditions improve towards the evening. so this morning, as you can the map lights up in orange and yellow and it continues through the afternoon and by the evening we see some favorable conditions and we are seeing that towards the end of the week and the weekend. so some good news for firefighters. and today is one of the last windy days with those strong santa ana winds back in the bay area. we're mostly clear and take a look at the 7 day forecast. it's not a typical january and we are seeing similar temperatures across

the road that runs over the creek. there and add new lanes in both the east and westbound directions at the tune of about 430 million dollars. the money would come from federal and state grants during a meeting last night. residents ask questions about the plan and voiced their concerns. >> the caltrans plans seems to reserve toll revenue for road improvements but not public transportation buses and vans are needed. but where's the money going to come from? the solano county transit agency has been asked to provide public transit across we 37, but president, it looks like an unfunded mandate. >> to maintain the route, caltrans is considering making part of the highway a toll lane. if all goes through construction on this plan could start next year. >> 6.19, is the time. and in oakland, business owner says

6:22 am
>> and i don't see saying one fe out with stop prevent things olivia, i crime is down. oakland and look make. got to be kidding at this salt injured. >> that was kron four's lindsay for reporting. the owner replace the doors to both the gas stations. but worry about the robbers coming back yet again. >> in developing news, there's more shake up now at meta. last week the menlo park-based company announced they were going to be getting rid of fact checking and now bloomberg is reporting the ceo mark zuckerberg plans on cutting 5% of his workforce, which comes to about 3600 people. zuckerberg says he made this decision to cut low performers. >> mark zuckerberg, the ceo believes they have to work more quickly to weed out what he's calling loper former. so getting much more aggressive and the means by which they do these performance-based reviews. and i think that's a trend we may see more of in silicon valley.
6:23 am
>> well, some people believe the real motive behind these moves is for companies to focus more on artificial intelligence. we reached out to meta and are waiting to hear back. >> just want to climb. go is a senseless act of violence. a> a little girl is in critical condition this morning hit by a bullet. we'll see what led up to it. and an arson suspect admits to trying to fire bomb a police car in the east bay. we'll tell you (woman) i've got this dream... and you're all in it!
