50's today as we take a look at not quite light yet, but we're in the middle of twilight. so we're in terrific shape. that should be just spectacular for us today. satellite imagery shows a blanket of stratus across much of the san francisco bay area. there are some areas across the marin county coastline as well as parts of the sand, the tail coastline and are showing some clearing due to a weak on shore flow of wind. so as we go through the day that pulls back toward the coastline, a little bit stratus lingering at the room county coastline, especially and also right along parts of the san mateo coastline. and then things clear and again tonight and all of a sudden seymour stratus, more gray, more clouds and more fog. there's even a dense fog advisory for parts of the san joaquin and sacramento valleys coming into the eastern cockiness traits. if you're heading in that direction, visibility could be poor temperature wise. we are mainly in the 40's. a few areas in the 30's at this

hour, stephanie. all right, kathy, thank you. our top story this morning. >> oakland's recalled mayor sheng thao now indicted on federal bribery charges. >> 7 months after the fbi agents raided her home. federal prosecutors released a 22 page indictment against how and her alleged co-conspirators kron four's dan kerman looked at the court documents. >> since the fbi raided their home last june, former oakland mayor sheng thao is maintained she was not the target of the federal investigation. but this indictment tells a different story with federal prosecutors alleging thao agreed to granting special favors an influence to members of the family that run callaway solutions in return for money for tao and her partner, andrea jones. >> examples of promises allegedly made by towns include. her agreement to purchase housing units from the company own by the dawn family. her agreement to ensure the extension of the contract. for recycling services that the city of

oakland had with one of david. and indeed, companies. in her agreement to use influence. to help appoint a high-level city official to benefit the goings business interests. in exchange. the dew was allegedly provided payments to tout and jones in various forms, including. the financing of a negative mailer campaign targeting taos, political rivals. and providing jones in town with $95,000 in direct payments. disguised as wages for a no show job. for jones with the promise of additional payments all intended to benefit both out and jones. the 22 page indictment relies on text messages, e-mails and the word of an unidentified co-conspirator. >> following taos mayoral victory in 2022, the indictment includes this text message between co-conspirator one and indeed long. rick

co-conspirator, one texted. so we may have to go to jail, but we are 100 million dollars richer, indeed. long replied, money buys everything and co-conspirator. one replied, you are right. the co-conspirator is not named or charged and legal experts say that's who defendants will go after first. you have people who cooperate with the government and say, >> for example, i was involved. and here's what went on at the time. they will attack them saying they are getting some special treatment from the federal government and then they have to look at what cooperates, what those people are saying. the indictment also relies on the transfer of payments between the defendants as often the case, the cues that the money trail. >> from their deceptive acts of corruption. while the indictment indicates payments went to taos partner jones, tell benefited because soon

after jones began receiving payment from co-conspirator, one jones paid the entirety of their rent and increased his contribution to our paid the entirety of shared bills with towel. the defendants are due to return to federal court in early february. dan kerman kron, 4 news. coverage of the story continues linet kron 4 dot com there you'll find the court documents right on our homepage. >> new this morning, the fremont police department is looking for an at-risk mother and her baby. the mother, samantha kerr owns a gomez is on your screen. she's described as 5 foot 3 with possible tattoos on her arms and back her baby is 2 year-olds. i to carranza police did not release a photo or physical description. samantha were last seen on crystal street in a beige motor home with paper plates and taped up windows if you have any information, please contact police. happening right now. the san francisco police department is searching for a stabbing suspect in the

tenderloin area. it happened friday night around 6.30, around leavenworth and ella streets. police found the victim there. he was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. the suspect left the scene of the crime. anyone with information is asked to call police. it meant serving a 40 year prison sentence for kidnapping and a vallejo woman in 2015 has pled guilty to a series of home invasions across santa clara. the new charges against matthew mueller come after he allegedly conftssed to the crimes in letters he sent from prison. the sea said police chief started the correspondence with mueller which reveal details about a assault during a home invasion in 2009 mueller faces life in prison for each offense. city and state leaders met in san francisco friday to talk about the incoming trump administration and their response to proposed mass deportations. half was lezla gooden has the details. >> affecting everything that

the trump administration has stated they plan to make mass deportations of immigrants a top priority will begin the largest deportation operation in american history. here in california, local leaders and officials are taking steps to prevent this. we are trying pass laws. >> to prepare >> cause chair of blue chip caucus has bill superintendent berman around schools. among those speaking as senator josh becker to address what can and can't be done under current state law regards to protecting immigrant communities last challenge. >> we have. >> we should great attorney general and his team were allocated additional resources and the next week or 2 attorney general to make sure that we do have he has we source this has resources. >> on friday state attorney general rob bonta announced a new bulletin to law

now to the latest on the wildfires burning in los angeles county. the palisades and eaton fires killed 27 people. 30 remain missing. the flames destroyed more than 10,000 structures, mostly homes. recently the winds have died down and crews gained a lot of ground. the palisades fire in the pacific palisades is now 43% contained after burning more than 23,000 acres. the fire in altadena is 73% contained after burning more than 14,000 acres. some have been allowed to return to the evacuation zones. but tens of thousands of residents are still waiting. and take a look at this. this plane landed in hayward friday carrying more than 50 cats and dogs evacuated from the la wildfires. this is to help animal shelters in la county make space for pets lost during the wildfires. >> we're taking animals and make it. and he really can't

dozens of bay area firefighters are returning home. they were sent out last week in the midst of the raging blazes down south. >> members of the contra costa county strike team headed home friday morning. they were in altadena for more than a week helping southern california crews respond to the eaton fire. and firefighters in santa clara county got back home thursday night. they arrive to the west valley fire station in saratoga just before 06:00pm crews from san jose mountain view and sunnyvale were also in altadena helping to contain hot spots and help victims of the eaton. 5. all right, live look outside back here in the

bay area. quite tower in san francisco, 7.14, this and it looks like people are waking up to well, looks like a pretty cold day. cathy, what do you think? well, it's cold compared to the really warm conditions we've been experiencing in much of this month. >> but actually, the temperatures are going to be seasonable for us. so it's about what we would typically be in january. this is a view from mount tam up high as we're looking down at stratus, lots of gray across the bay area, but not everywhere. in the meantime, look at the pattern. high pressure continues to be the dominant weather feature for us. and you know what? come monday into tuesday, we see return of santa ana winds. we had quite a break in southern california this weekend. okay, that firefighters a chance to really get a handle on these fires are still raging and tried and circle them and control them. but you know what? this is going to kick up another wind event. and again, t we could see wind gusts up to 60 to 70 miles per hour. there. we also will be seeing

some santa ana winds across the bay area, not nearly as strong, though, and we don't have the same fire concerns because of all the rain and already felt we still have pretty moist fuel. so were in fairly good shape in our winds won't be nearly as strong, maybe 30 to 40 mile per hour gusts, maybe 50 in the mountains for us. but that doesn't happen until monday into tuesday. and then look what happens. the forecast model is showing not tomorrow. not that sunday, but the following sunday, the precipitation low pressure over los angeles and glory. be maybe some rain. and that's exactly what they need. they don't need a lot. they need little bit of rain. that'll be enough to help them really dampened down the fires. but we don't want much rain because even moderate rain could cause terrible problems in terms of flooding and debris flows. the ground is so hard. once fire has passed over to can burn the ground, it will feel like cement and the precipitation can't actually go into the soil and there aren't enough vegetation

out there. also, a lot of it burned. and so now that's not enough to even catch the precipitation. so in the meantime, back home, our temperatures will be average for today. our allan allan acces average of the 58 for a high in san francisco. we get 57. we'll take it. the old record. 76 degrees set back in 2021. was a big arctic plunge. a lot of cold air coming out of the arctic right across the united states. and look how it gets even colder. look how the colors the deep purple start to head southward even more. so we're seeing over the rockies. and by monday, inauguration is going to be really, really cold over washington, d.c., which, of course triggered the decision to put that inauguration inside. stephanie, back to you. kathy, thank you. >> developing in monterey county crews with the environmental protection agency pulled up after this massive fire broke out at a battery storage plant in moss landing. this fire forced hundreds of residents to evacuate and people as far

north and santa cruz were warned not to breathe the air outside crump was jeff moment explains that local officials want someone to be held accountable. >> billowing flames as tall as the smokestacks has one of the largest battery storage facilities in the world burns forcing evacuations thursday night. but on friday evening, more than 1200 of those evacuees could finally return home. yeah, be nice. this one to come and make sure everything's still in place. some people like robert jones left to the monterey area to ride out the fire wasn't too disruptive. sure, many others defied the orders and stayed put. i didn't evacuate. i just i stayed here last night. >> and went to work today. >> everyone, though, thankful there were no injuries or deaths. just a lot of smoke, but that smoke does have people asking what exactly they were breathing. it best be described as a worst-case scenario of a disaster that happened here. nobody predicted anything on this line. and this was really a

lot more than just a fire. it's really a wake-up call for this industry. monterey county supervisor, glenn church is demanding an independent investigation into the fire. he says there have been 4 fires at this power plant since 2019. there must be accountability for this and there will be accountability. the company, this truck runs the battery storage facility at the power plant and says they will look into the fire, but they're assuring people they are safe. >> we want to know to listen to residents supervisor church and his staff, other local officials. i know people have been impacted by this event and consider ways to provide assistance to them. you know, i hope everybody's, you know. >> you do well, you know, with this going on, even people, as far as activists say, they can see the flames and smoke billowing. they're hopeful things can go back to normal ice melted. i had a weird taste in my mouth afterwards. i don't know. i'd like to see that investigated. lori cruz is not convinced the air is safe and she and her neighbors want an investigation as well. they want to know more about

the plant, its safety standards and how to prevent future. >> incidents before it goes back online. if it goes back online and on, think most favorite not going back online. the resources district did put out a statement this evening saying they conducted a limited study into some of that gas that was coming from the fire. >> they say most of any toxic gas to get pushed up by the wind away from the general population. they were not able to measure any hydrochloric acid which they say could be toxic if it was there. but that death is lighter than the air itself. so most likely dead also lift up away from the population as well. reporting here in moss landing jack moment. kron 4 news. >> a deadly stabbing in vallejo marks the city's first homicide case of the new year. police say the stabbing happened after 2 friday afternoon near the intersection of lemon and 3rd street. the male victim died at the hospital. police have not yet released that person's identity. and house republicans pushed through legislation this week to block

transgender athletes from women and girls. school sports. the bill would rewrite title 9 bands, right? rather rewrite title 9 rules to ban transgender athletes from competing on teams matching their gender identity at any school receiving federal funding at the center of this legislation is former ncaa swimmer riley gaines. she's advocated against the inclusion of transgender women in the women's division. sports. >> we believe that women sports are for women. i cannot believe we have to say this, but unfortunately, we do. >> all but 2 democrats voted no on the bill calling it an example of government overreach. the bill now heads to the senate where it already has the support of president elect trump. in the south bay and other bay area. barnes and noble is closing its stores for good sunday will be the last 8 of the barnes and noble in the almaden plaza will be open according to employees. the storm was notified months ago about the closures and only management was offered employment the on the closure

forecast highs about where you would expect this time of year. 57 san francisco 50's 62 in santa rosa. so it will be beautiful again. here's our look ahead. we can again, this stratus in the morning starts to burn off. looking for a beautiful weekend and then those winds return on monday. more on that coming up, stephanie. all right. thank you. >> in developing news, all 4 people named in the indictments of oakland mayor, which include a former oakland mayor sheng thao appeared before a federal judge on friday was rob nesbitt was in the courtroom when it happened. >> it was a packed courtroom in oakland with sheng thao, andre jones, david and and do do all present with their attorneys. we heard from lawyers, but the accused are staying silent. 24 hours after the federal indictment was announced listing the charges against sheng thao. the former oakland mayor appeared before a judge pleading not guilty and saying very little her attorney jeffs. i went on the defense on her behalf. today's indictment and the press conference that was held by

the government. >> earlier this morning was successful and grabbing headlines. but what it did not do, we serve the ends of justice. the federal charges accusing talent, her partner, andre jones, and accepting bribery money from recycling company owners, david and indeed toowong came 7 months after federal agents raided the home of talent. jones. >> side questions. the timing of the indictment against his client fresh off a recall. the mayor looks forward to defending yourself against these charges showing that there is, in fact, no evidence to support these charges. and we will look forward to doing that in the courtroom. if found guilty. all 4 listed in the indictment could each face up to 30 years in prison. jones requested a court-appointed lawyer, any comments or on the charges against him, ignoring reporters on his way out of the courthouse. indeed, attorney sent a statement saying, quote, the allegations are baseless and being fanned by nothing more than gossip and supposition stitched together by the fabrications and delusions of those who lack all fundamental credibility. the lawyer for

his father, david, was that a separate statement saying, quote, mr. de denies wrongdoing and will vigorously defend these allegations in court. he looks forward to prevailing in this case and continuing his decades of service, philanthropy and devotion to our community and the bay area town surrendered her passport to authorities and was told by the judge not to leave the northern and eastern district of california. her next court date is scheduled for february 6th reporting in the newsroom. i'm rob nesbitt. kron. 4 news. >> and we learn more about the family and their connections to city leaders after the fbi raid on their homes last june that family owns oakland's recycling service, california waste solutions. they claim to be the largest recycling company in northern california with 300 workers. the drawings appear to know politicians at every level and he'd long social media is full of photos of him with a number of politicians, including former mayor thao, her former opponent lauren taylor from a congresswoman barbara lee and governor gavin newsom as well.

the of the vietnamese business association, which david long chairs also organized a trip to vietnam in 2023. how did attend that trip as mayor of oakland? our coverage of the story continues online at kron 4 dot com. and there you'll find the full 22 page indictment right on our homepage. chp is investigating a deadly freeway shooting in san jose. investigators say they found a driver shot in the head along to 80 monday night. the car was found crashed in the center divide just north of de anza boulevard. it's not clear what led to the shooting or if police have any suspects. the chp is asking anyone with information or about the crash or the shooting to please get in touch. well, randi, a police officer eric rhambo pleaded guilty this week to federal charges of conspiracy and deprivation of rights admitting to collecting so-called trophies from crime scenes. prosecutors say roundball he collected ammunition from crime scenes and even to make a flag of

sorts. well, was part of a larger fbi investigation into a group of officers accused of excessive force and civil rights violations. robbo along with 2 other officers are accused of exchanging disturbing text messages bragging about their actions. and we're told even kept momentos from their arrest. well, those co-defendants will face trial. in march 12 rumbo accepted a plea deal to avoid y woman accusing sean diddy combs of sexually assaulting her is speaking out. we first told you about this last year when ashley part him filed a lawsuit against combs for an alleged assault in orinda back in 2018, a warning that her account of the incident are disturbing. >> i heard a bunch of people coming down the stairs. it was sean combs. and a whole bunch of people who just busted the door. and just a boy stirs

news. the supreme court decided friday to not stop the tiktok ban. the high court upheld the law that is set to ban the popular app tomorrow unless the china-based company sells the app to an american buyer. we spoke with a professor of media, san jose state about what could happen next. >> it doesn't mean that, you know, if you're already a tiktok user, you can't use the platform. but what it does mean that eventually if things do not change, that app is going to let out. if you are a content creator and you want to save your videos, you should do that right now. go to the app. good the to the top and downloaded videos. if you want to save them. that option may not be available after sunday. and of course, if your apple or google, i mean the way today to find out you can get away with it. and then on monday, you're okay. i mean, there's going to be all kinds of you know, weekend discussions about whether they actually pull it off. on

sunday or is wait one more day to see if they can maybe. had this a brief reprieve, at least. >> that's where providers like apple and google and oracle. the cloud computing from that host. tiktok could face huge funds from the justice department for defying the law. if the trump administration chooses to enforce it, companies could be fined $5,000 per user. and with the apps 170 american million american users, you're talking about 850 billion dollars worth of fines. meanwhile, area influencers who rely on the app for income say they've been in denial about the ban until now. kron 4 sarah stinson brings us their reactions. >> i caught up with several bay area influencers who say they found the most success on tiktok and with it on the brink of being banned, they're worried about their livelihood come i-95 used to work in sustainability and then i thought, you know, this is a new passion of mine. you see what happened just die full after going viral on tiktok

andrew john de los santos now works full-time posting on social media about new restaurants, events and parks in san francisco. but he's feeling uneasy now that the supreme court has upheld its decision to ban the app. >> i really thought it was going to be a hail mary and someone's going to say that. but is is really looking pretty slam into time runs out for tiktok de los santos met up with bay area influencers. >> carol correa's and micaela tensor who share the same sentiment think a lot of people are grieving and i just feeling. uncertain. i was really in denial this entire week. and then today to set in and i've been very sad. the 3 meeting at macdill, the senior dog shelter in sf a nonprofit tense or has post about recently on her page. mckayla wine style. it's gone viral. couple times on tiktok. people have even come in and adopted from seeing my videos. and that has just been my biggest

achievement for me. i feel like beyond any of the money. >> they're not paying me to promote them. it's just been something i love to do. influencers say if tiktok gone, they'll focus their energy on social media apps like youtube or instagram, but it won't be the same. i definitely like the tiktok algorithm better than instagrams. i feel like it helps show people more locally and more of just your interest. i think tiktok itself has a great community like it's so different from instagram. east bay influencer novi. mitchell is also anxiously waiting to see the fate of tiktok. she's found success hosting and posting brunches at restaurants in the bay area. one thing about redskins, it's all about connecting with this bomb on the hawks since the impending tiktok ban has been threatened since last year. many influencers are holding out hope that it will be saved while others say the harms done see what biggest i think a lot of brands and a lot of influencers because of this back and forth. i just not

down to southern california much stronger winds down in the south. stephanie, kathy, thank you. our top story this morning, oakland's recall mayor sheng thao now indicted on federal bribery charges. >> 7 months after the fbi agents raided her home. federal prosecutors released a 22 page indictment against how and her alleged co-conspirators prefers dan kerman looked at the court documents. >> since the fbi raided their home last june, former oakland mayor sheng thao is maintained she was not the target of the federal investigation. but this indictment tells a different story with federal prosecutors alleging thao agreed to granting special favors an influence to members of the family that run callaway solutions in return for money for tao and her partner, andrea jones. >> examples of promises allegedly made by towns include. her agreement to e% purchase housing units from the company own by the dawn family. her agreement to

ensure the extension of the contract. for recycling services that the city of oakland had with one of david. and indeed, companies. in her agreement to use influence. to help appoint a high-level city official to benefit the goings business interests. in exchange. the dew was allegedly provided payments to tout and jones various forms, including. the financing of a negative mailer campaign targeting house political rivals. and providing jones in town with $95,000 in direct payments. disguised as wages for a no show job. for jones with the promise of additional payments all intended to benefit both out and jones. the 22 page indictment relies on text messages, e-mails and the word of an unidentified co-conspirator. >> following taos mayoral victory in 2022, the

>> good morning, stephanie. good to see you again. great to see you, too, sir. first of first of all, catch us up on how you're doing. >> busy. i think i'm busier than when i was working with you guys so good. saying a lot go go so we've been doing a lot with our animal rescue full. a lot of animals this past summer, a lot of wildlife in particular and forth to southern california lot picking up all kinds of, you know, bobcat coyote, puppies owls. we few 37 bats to bakersfield. wow. i mean, in each one of those trips has an amazing story behind it. and that's part of what we do. we we rescue animals, but we tell the stories of why they had to be moved to background and, you know, help educate people. what's going on in california with wildlife and domestic animals. invest just incredible. now. >> walk us through what inspired this work. i know you and i conversations about this back when you were working here at kron 4. but for viewers who might not know what inspired you to put it in, you know, embark on this journey to do this.

>> well, when i first started 2018 kron, i came across rescue needed to happen is to bear. comes up in south lake tahoe that needed to get down to san diego county to spend the winter because mother had been hit by a car in your post, a county. so i flew through them down and then talking to a news director that said, i think this would make a really good story. and i have gopro's in that plane and all that stuff. so he agreed and we ran it people really reacted to it in a good way. >> and so i kept doing it. and then it got to a point where i wanted to do more. i enjoyed my career at kron 4 in my 30 plus years in bay area news. and i had kind of achieve my goal of one day being an anchor, the station in san francisco really proud of that and grateful for that. but this was something different. and it really touched my heart. i just really get a lot of emotional satisfaction out of these trips. yeah, and we

certainly miss you, by the seeing you in the hallways. see missing you on air. >> and so tell us to about, you know, the latest with the organization. i hear that you've expanded quite a bit, which is exciting. >> yeah. in the few months we've added 4 more pilots and 4 more planes that are flying or so we can respond a lot quicker. 2 more locations in a timely manner to get the animals out of situations that they need to be moved from. so, you know, again, we're talking about dogs and cats and all kinds of wildlife, anything that will fit in the senate. you know, they're small single engine plane. so we can carry a tune. you 100 pound animal, we have to back seat out all this stuff. and you know, that's it. we just move them all over the place and work a lot of good agencies. sonoma county, wildlife, rescue, pets, lifeline here, sonoma other groups across california to move these animals and now they're starting to know they

can. they can call us so we get more calls because we've jobs for them before. they're great. fully appreciated. it doesn't cost them anything. so they're they're happy to have us. we do as much we can to help. >> that's incredible. now we understand you're also planning a benefit of sorts to help with all of this. >> right. so february 6, it's a thursday night at the hanna center in sonoma were having our first fundraiser to help support all of these efforts saying that it's gonna be a lot of fun. we have. we're going testimonials and some tributes and some really good video clips to show some of the rescues. but as kind of an added. plus, we're going to have a frank sinatra, the tribute concert with the guy and he does killer. frank sinatra show. and you didn't know, frank sinatra was a big lover. so there isn't a loose connection between people are doing here, but we're just trying to a good time so we can you can get all the information on our web site at fine tales dot.

>> or org? yeah. sounds like a great event to and a great way to raise awareness about some of the important work that you're doing to save animal lives. so what are some of the other ways that people can get involved? are you still and and working on putting together videos of although the great work you guys are doing as well. >> yeah, absolutely. in fact, last night we just got back from a trip. we have first airlift. if you want to call it that we have 5 planes find out van nuys and we picked up dozen dogs from los angeles, animal services. and these were big dogs. so it was it took a lot of planes are all they're all, you know, 70 pounds. plus, for the most part. and so we have some of the dogs flow here to sonoma where pence lifeline took them in and then some of them were flown to sacramento. we are actually picked up by the nevada humane society, which sent drove them up to reno. so we did all that. it turned into a much longer they day than we expected, just organizing and getting almost dogs into the traits inside

your forecast with kathy trafton. kathy, i stephanie, i like the idea of the saturday friday night saturday from the coyotes. >> let's now take a look at the status of this is because there's awful lot of gray right across the bay area, not everywhere, but many areas. when you wake up, you're going to see gray. so here we are looking down on the stratus from atop mount tam a pious and now we're looking at the berkeley hills. it's all socked in lots of grey there. you know, we're just actually >> cleared out. it's at the coastline. half moon bay, a beautiful start to our saturday. so here we are looking at the transamerica pyramid. and here are your weather headlines that blanketed morning stratus. we'll start to clear away it burns off. we get lots afternoon sunshine. so it will be beautiful this afternoon. beautiful this morning. if you like gray seasonable temperatures. so temperatures about where they ought to we've been going with really warm temperatures this month and very sunny skies. now we're back toward a normal scenario for us and gusty offshore winds return on monday into tuesday.

temperatures right now mainly in the 40's across the bay area. so warm up into the 50's to low 60's here. the forecast highs for you 50's to low 60 61 livermore and in antioch, 60 oakland and 61 degrees in novato 3 day forecast showing a okay again. a mixture of fog in the morning. some sunshine in the afternoons. and then again, the gusty winds on monday. stephanie. >> all right, kathy, thank you. and developing news on friday, the fbi announced former oakland mayor sheng thao and 4 others face federal bribery charges. the suspect appeared before a federal judge on friday. kron four's rob nesbitt was in the courtroom when it happened. >> it was a packed courtroom in oakland with sheng thao, andre jones, david and and do do all present with their attorneys. we heard from lawyers, but the accused are staying silent. 24 hours after the federal indictment was announced listing the charges against sheng thao. the former oakland mayor appeared before a judge pleading not guilty

and saying very little her attorney jeffs. i went on the defense on her behalf. today's indictment and the press conference that was held by the government. >> earlier this morning was successful and grabbing headlines. but what it did not do, we serve the ends of justice. the federal charges accusing talent, her partner, andrea jones and accepting bribery money from recycling company owners, david and indeed, along came 7 months after federal agents raided the home of talent, jones. >> psi questions. the timing of the indictment against his client fresh off a recall. the mayor looks forward to defending yourself against these charges showing that there is, in fact, evidence to support these charges. and we will look forward to doing that in the courtroom. if found guilty. all 4 listed in the indictment could each face up to 30 years in prison. jones requested a court-appointed lawyer, any comments or on the charges against him, ignoring reporters on his way out of the courthouse. indeed, wong's attorney sent a statement saying, quote, the allegations are baseless and being fanned

by nothing more than gossip and supposition stitched together by the fabrications and delusions of those who lack all fundamental credibility. the lawyer for his father, david, was that a separate statement saying, quote, mr. de wilde denies wrongdoing and will vigorously defend these allegations in court. he looks forward to prevailing in this case and continuing his decades of service, philanthropy and devotion to our community and the bay area town surrendered her passport to authorities and was told by the judge not to leave the northern and eastern district of california. her next court date is scheduled for february 6th reporting in the newsroom. i'm rob nesbitt kron. 4 news. >> and we learn more about that wong family and their connections to city leaders after the fbi raid on their homes last june. that family owns oakland's recycling service, california waste solutions. they claim to be the largest recycling company in northern california witho 300 workers. that was a pure no politicians at every level. and it social media is full of photos with him with multiple politicians, including tao her

of a larger fbi investigation into a group of officers accused of excessive force and civil rights violations. evidence shows rhambo along with 2 other officers exchanged disturbing text messages bragging about their actions and even kept momentos from their arrests. well, most co-defendants face trial in march. he accepted a plea deal to avoid the trial. and new this morning, the antioch police department, they've arrested 3 suspects caught stealing $2000 with a beauty products from sephora. the group was spotted by a helicopter from the contra costa county sheriff's office at the slender ranch shopping center wednsday night. police say the suspects stuffed make up into their purses and left without ping their vehicle was impounded anone suspect was found hiding a nearby store. all 3 people were arrested on moulton, the multiple felony theft charges. the east bay woman accusing sean diddy combs of sexually assaulting her is speaking out. we first told you about

this last year when ashley part have filed a lawsuit against combs for an alleged assault in orinda back in 2018. >> a warning that her account of this incident are disturbing. >> i heard a bunch of people coming down the stairs. it was sean combs. and a whole bunch of people who just busted the door. and just a boy stirs manner and he said something like. but you think you're ever going to see me. you know, i was just in complete shock and frozen. what happened next? he. basically started. mean, mean, with human trafficking. and that

they could take me anywhere. and some me. >> parham said she reported the incident to the contra costa county sheriff's officer in the police and walnut creek. police. the sheriff's office called the claims unfounded. wannacry. police declined any involvement in this case. we have yet to hear back from orinda police. in developing news, the supreme court decided friday to not stop that tiktok ban. the high court upheld the law that is set to ban the popular app tomorrow unless the china-based company sells the app to an american buyer. we spoke with a professor of media, san jose state about what could happen next. it doesn't mean that. >> you know, if you're already a tiktok user, you can't use the platform. but what it does mean that eventually if things do not change, that app is going to let you out. if you are a content creator and you want to save your videos, you could do that right now. go to the app. go to the free dot to the top and downloaded videos.

that's per courtesy of high pressure which has been keeping things version later really keeps particulate matter close to the ground. and so that's what happens. in the meantime, those afternoon temperatures as promised about where you would expect this time of year. that puts us mainly in the 50's and low 60's numbers in the 50's right across the san francisco area and then we go down along the coastline. still mid 50's. then we start to head to the bay shoreline. still mid 50's to start to head south where we warm things up just a little bit. going to 60 in mountain view and palo alto and heading down to the santa clara valley, 63 degrees. that's your high for milpitas and and for santa clara. so we're in great shape as we head northward into the east bay. a lot of areas in the 60's, a few mid 50's as we head northward again, 62 in concord and 61 in fairfield 16. napa. you're going to head up to the wine country, a beautiful day to do it. santa rosa, 62 degrees and avato 61.

so we're in for a beautiful day. and you know what? a string of beautiful days are in our future. so we've got next 7 days dry as can be temperatures really similar to today. lot of areas and the warmest spots in the 60's and right along the coastline in the 50's precipitation. we're back to normal. that's the forecast from the climate prediction center. we were on and are drier than normal for quite a well. normal would actually bring some rain to us come by the end of the month, which would be really great news. and in fact, if you look at the forecast model showing the offshore flow winds coming in on monday and tuesday, not only to us, but even stronger in southern california. that's not good. but what is good is a chance for precipitation. this big elongated area of low pressure looks like it's going to bring its low right across southern california. maybe some light rain. we need a light moderate because moderate rain could actually trigger some flooding and debris flows. so light rain will help the firefighters and

picked up the trumpet when i was 9 and i started playing jazz music when i was in middle school after attending a stand for jazz workshop, summary hochul and on my piano teacher united in redwood shores. she actually doesn't want to encourage me to start playing trump. it and 2 like to explore jazz music and yeah, i've had other great mentors along the way. michaela status was by trump, a teacher, middle school and high school. yeah, many various youth programs in the bay area. s of jazz has a great high school all-stars program. and i just had such supportive community and, you know, to support me doing what i love. you know, yeah, it's great to have that sense of community. and i love that you're giving shout-outs to your mentors and people who really inspired you throughout your own life. >> your dad's also in the studio watching right now that is very proud giving us a wave over there. >> so skyler, tell us a little bit about maybe your plans for the future. it seems like pretty bright one ahead of you. and also what you're going to be performing for us
