news at 11. thanks for joining us at 11 o'clock. i'm dan thorn. we are continuing to follow that breaking news out of san jose tonight where a man was stabbed at the santana row mall. let's take a look at the video here now. >> is what that area looked like just a short time ago. the person we're told has life-threatening injuries and had to be rushed to a local hospital. the stabbing happened at the mall right near stevens creek boulevard. police say olson drive from winchester to hatton street will be closed, offer a significant amount of time people are being told to avoid the area and we will bring you the very latest as we learn it right here. and also on our website, kron 4 dot com. in other news tonight, the big story, the nba all-star weekend has officially kicked off thousands of fans taking over mission bay attending the rising stars game man. also night one of a three-day concert series at pier. 48. and that's where we find kron four's. sara stinson.

>> a three-day all stars concert series has begun low right hundreds of people here at pier 40 attendees. tell me that it's exciting to have this large scale event in the city and nearby businesses say they're thrilled as well. it is causing big revenue. >> san francisco's mission bay has come alive with the pulse of nba all-star weekend. there's not only basketball legends playing at chase center, but also big name artists performing at pier. 48 for three-day concert series starting with flow right and excited. >> i'm super excited about the whole weekend. mean, this is obviously night with big fan, a tad. so glad to be here. we live close. >> while some paid hundreds of dollars to attend, trina brown is thanking her. look, i won all-star, take pay one of i'm here to have a real good time.

celebrate all-star weekend attendees who live in the bay area say it's nice to have such a massive event take over this part of the city yet this is like the super bowl event member has bowl. 50 was down here. >> this is like nba all-star ben aaron, what 20 years. and so i just like the 5 of these weakened taliban. the super bowl comes to town. you've got stuff on friday, saturday, sunday, all over the city. this has restaurants in the area packed including atwater tavern, which is right next to the concert. it's really going to be helpful for businesses, not only our business budgets, all the businesses within the area for san francisco. so we're super excited. the assistant manager needs so that delays as they increase staff and food orders to prepare for an influx of customers. she says the all-stars weekend highlights all of this neighborhood has to offer our city. haven't really getting a good with everything that's going on you know, the homeless. francisco has so much to offer, so the

many of the residents who were displaced from the flooding are being placed in temporary hotels in the meantime, but a couple of those residents tell me that once that's all said and done, they don't have any idea why they're live next. >> water seeping into the carpet. that was totally molded. this one's wet and saturated and destroying mattresses for his forte and electronics. it's been. yvonne davis says the flood waters from the pettit nca creek came so fast. her and her family didn't have any time to act. no more than just a couple of minutes later. >> i had water coming from door and that door and we were ankle high in you can still there. >> splish everything left is full of water and mold the end for davis. they also include yeah, some of the stuff from my deceased has been from a few years ago when my husband

passed away. her unit is one of 16 flooded by storm water, surging through the creek on thursday from a storm that hit much of the bay area with several inches of rain. public works. crews were at the apartments friday night working on draining out the series which are now surrounded by must, you know, my heart goes out to the the residents of the 16 units that experienced flooding a couple of days ago here. matt mahan says this complex just a couple blocks from the flea market was some of the hardest hit in the south bay. he says resources are pouring in as we're doing everything we can along with the red cross to make sure that they're supported and we can help them recover insurance claims and get back into their homes as soon as possible. but davis says once the hotel stays and different department is no longer habitable, she's out of options. now, this is all my family. >> this my daughter-in-law, this is my this my grandson.

>> family helping her move out, not knowing if this will be the last time she'll be calling it all my kids. >> this is really rough on me. if it wasn't for my kids, i don't know what i would do. >> in san jose jacmel that kron 4 news. >> flooding still a problem here in the bay area. part of sonoma county under a flood warning until 03:00am tomorrow. officials say this area includes guernville parts of sebastopol and windsor, which is still seeing some of that residual flooding from this week's storm just a week after people are pretending to be ice agents in san francisco. we're now learning 3 others who were claiming to be with the newly created government agency led by elon musk crown for stephanie rothman has the story. >> friday's incident involves the department of government efficiency which led by elon musk aims to root out corruption and government waste. while the san francisco sheriff's office telling us

that 3 people pretending to be a part of doge trying to carry out that mission as san francisco city hall. >> around noon friday, san francisco sheriff's office say 3 men dress a department of government efficiency or doge shirts and that hat entered various offices at san francisco city hall, the men's of an employee's turnover digital information. what they called wasteful government spending and fraud. >> san francisco sheriff says he is confident that the men were impersonators. >> usually when we interact with federal government agency, they contact us before enter the work with people inside the building. >> the sheriff says city employees refused to comply and the men were gone by the time. deputies, gaza city hall, investigators are now looking at surveillance video to find and arrest the suspects. >> state senator scott wiener condemning the incident. these final disgusting people who

well, this isn't good news. bay area. drivers are going to be paying a lot more at the pump. aaa says over the last week, california has seen in nearly $0.30 increase for a gallon of gas.

>> the state average is around 4.82, which is jump from 4.55. just a week ago. sonoma county right now paying the highest in the bay area ad more than 5.20, on average. the cheapest gas can be found in santa clara just under $5 a gallon for regular. the increase comes as more drivers are expected to hit the road for the holiday weekend. the rise in prices is being partly blamed on the massive fire at the martinez refining company that happened earlier this month. >> read your >> take a look at this. a dramatic rescue by firefighters after a 16 year-old got stuck in a mine shaft to this is a new video coming in to our newsroom tonight from placer county. cal fire says the teen was trying to explore the cave with a couple of his buddies. the group had repelled nearly 50 feet below the surface. but when they tried to get back up their rope and actually snapped in, one of those teens fell all the way back down to

the bottom. his friends who did make it out, though, got did make it out, though, got rescuers into the cav those rescuers were able to use professional equipment to get that team. amazingly, back up to safety. to mammoth mountain ski patrol staff members were caught in avalanche on lincoln mountain earlier today. officials say both of those workers were doing mitigation work on the mountain when the avalanche happened. one person had to be taken to the hospital with serious injuries. the other as expected to be doing. all right. the mountain left operations were forced to close for the rest the day, but they are expected to reopen tomorrow. well, of course, there's people that are celebrating the snow falling out there. lawrence, what's happening? yeah, people love that. that's for sure. tough to get up there. but yeah, there was an avalanche warning in effect across the great lake tahoe area during that time. and of course, of the ski resorts. >> they try to mitigate any of those issues. so, yeah, a lot of snow falling in the last couple of weeks around the high country. got to watch out specially in the back country. the warnings have been lifted for the avalanche of us ill

dangers in spots. see all that snow coming down throughout the day today. finally tapering off and again, quiet out there right now. that's a good news. so if you want to get up there for the weekend, do little skin, you're going to be skiing on fresh powder. me just beautiful up there across the sierra nevada. it's going to be dry this weekend. temperatures going to warm up just a tad, but not enough to ruin the skiing conditions as year headed toward the middle of day. shouldn't get too slushy up there. just that fresh powder, some places there over 4 feet of snow outside. right now you're looking at quiet conditions out at the golden gate bridge. we're cloud-free right now. that's what's going to stay tonight. still, we're dealing with some flooding issues in the north bay. you get to mark west creek. you see some flooding. there are also seeing some flooding on the green valley creek waters are receding and expect that come down. so by about 3 o'clock in the morning, that flood warning should come to an end. in the meantime, finally getting a much-needed break and that stormy weather pattern. the doppler radar not finding any raindrops around the state right now. we're kind of between systems. i

can't say that we've got a big dome of high pressure building over you see another storm system off the coastline. that one may actually bring a chance of some few showers, the bay area on friday tomorrow, just a few clouds continuing to pass our skies here. you can see the storm getting a little bit closer. then we get to sunday. yeah. just slight chance of raindrops, mainly north of the golden gate bridge. and then as we get in the present day, looking mainly dry by the middle of week, another weak system comes by. but the good news is now these are very large storms. in fact, the long-range forecast models until the end of the month now shows running below average through the 2nd half february. and that's probably a good thing. we got a whole lot of rain in this 1st half temperatures tomorrow looking at 50's and some 60's outside. little cool out there the way. so running a little large along the coastline to watch out for that next couple days, though. yeah, that slight chance of showers on sunday. presidents day looks good and then looks like a chance of showers again by wednesday. but that follgwing weekend start look at the possibility of maybe some 7. yeah. lies to spring coming our okay. not bad. break out the sun block and >> you mentioned earlier and
