heenan. >> thousands of people were outside chase center. they were taking part in fan activities. everything the all-star weekend has to offer. fans were excited to see players from teams all over the nba. most fans, of course, excited to see there. warriors representing kron four's check moment has the story. >> the fans we spoke with said that they're just really happy to see that the nba all-star weekend is back in the bay area for the first time in about a quarter century. many of those fans we spoke to also told us that they think this is san francisco's way telling the world that they're back on center stage. streaming from inside the shop. has got crazy ca tomorrow tonight, >> and screaming from eager fans pouring into thrive city. outside the chase center saturday for day 2 of nba all-star weekend. it's been from the young biggest thing.

say there was a little something for everyone. we begin with the skills competition because that was the first event of the night and the spurs would factor heavily not into the final verdict here, but into the post contest banter victor wembanyama and chris paul, why? well, because they tried to work the system. you know, you either have to make the 3 or you have to take 3 shots and missed. but the object is um to make the shot. it's to go as quickly as possible. so they tried to just throw 3 basketball's really quickly and move the crowd didn't like everybody thought, well, they're cheating. draymond asked about this after the game. apparently not officially cheating, but it was frowned upon. nonetheless, they did not advance to the final round. speaking of draymond, green moses, moody. >> they played well early on. they got to the final against evan mobley and donovan mitchell of the cavaliers. but sadly, for the oriole for your faithful, it was the cavs who prevailed and mitchell and mobley are your skills

competition, am peanuts to end the 3 point contest. now, this was interesting because buddy hield not steph curry was representing to your warriors and hield who has been a free month's shooting slump in the regular season suddenly found his stroke here tonight he hit 31. >> in the first round, which is a good score, got himself to the final against miami's tyler herro and came up just buck short, had a chance to win it with a final couple of shots. couldn't get it done. so tyler herro, it is your 3 point shooting champion. but i tell you buddy ball certainly delighted the hometown crowd. >> was good. great buys. put on a all-star weekend we would fans of and you know, 25 years on here we bought it. >> and then what many consider to be the main event, the slam dunk contest, which honestly was kind of a dozen early on until mac mcclung went to work. he did was jump over a

pace. straight 50's in the first round for mcclung that really set the tone and he wound up absolutely mesmerizing captivating this chase center crowd. 4 dunks, all of them 50's across the board. even jumped over evan mobley, who was standing on a 5 inch platform. i mean, the dunks were incredible. again, perfect scores from start to finish. and mac mcclung is a three-peat winner of the slam dunk contest. he's now won 3 in a row. absolutely amazing. early in the day. the all stars, you know, the ones will play in the actual game on sunday. they had their final practice. then ross was in oakland and he files this report. >> well, scott, the atmosphere was absolutely electric today. >> at oakland arena, even though it was just the all-star practice, it's a building that hasn't had an nba basketball in a while. and the fans came out in full force. obviously, steph curry got the biggest reception, but so did former warrior kevin durant. and as you might expect him, ian lillard, the

oakland native, they really enjoyed getting to reminisce about a building that used to play and they were happy to give the fans of oakland to thrill. this is a moment for sure. i think. >> the idea of no, we made to move the chase center and then is going to last. the 6 seasons. to have a little bit of that moment to honor and reminisce the 47 years that we played this building. the 10 years that i you know, growing up in the inside of these walls, the energy in this building that can come back just like that. it was. i've enjoyed to the fullest. i'm happy that they kind of took stance and came direction with cause. >> you know, i think the city needs this type energy and all-star weekend is going to be here. i thought this was a great opportunity to do something like now we move forward to the all-star game tomorrow in san francisco, the first all-star game in the bay area since 2000. and as we've talked about all week in the new format for team, any

>> well, among the many events happening >> for all-star weekend was the hbcu classic morehouse and tuskegee university's basketball teams played each other. this was at the oakland arena, the 4th year in a row that historically black colleges and universities have faced off during all-star weekend. tuskegee, by the way, one 68 to 55. even if you didn't get tickets to some of the big events, you can still join in the fun. the nba fan experience of most county center. lot of people have been going kron. 4 charles clifford takes us inside. >> what's called the nba crossover experience allows fans to interact with players. the event includes a full-size basketball court. fans can take a picture with the larry o'brien championship trophy, although it may not be the real thing. >> there's lots of games

actually klain rest when every other signal is that you should be moving. that's the question. chief curator of moab key jolie asked herself as she put together this current exhibit is calling tory living protective interiors and radical black joy. and it's really dedicated to the idea that trauma and struggle isn't our only generational inheritance. after 2 years ed lee says she feels like she's just hitting her stride and enjoys keeping the museum on the pulse of what's happening in black culture today. black and brown people are being asked to expose their soft underbelly again and again in the bid for empathy. that doesn't necessarily come so interested in rather, then where are we going to get to work? we're going to make new revolution. we're going go sit down for a minute and be seen as resting not as lazy. what's so magical about what general has created in that space. all those pieces speak to different ways in which we're allowed to be in space as black bodies.

oakland cut printmaking artist. sean. tell hildebrand is one of several artists with work featured in the liver tory living exhibit her vulnerable pieces show women behind closed doors and dodging and their deserved rest. the artwork hangs next to sculptures lead chose for the exhibit. but i'm not trying to rewrite or demonstrate what black menaces. i'm just demonstrating what rest looks like to me and what liberation looks like to me. it's not you move through the exhibit, you'll find text on the walls written by lee. she says she's inviting visitors to engage in what they're seeing. art work isn't just something that gives to you. it's in relationship with you. so what i want people to lead with is a sense that they, too, can meet the demands that were to making even challenging artworks that they, too can ask questions that they can think about our work through their own individual allies add nears its 20th anniversary, lee is looking to the future. our next focus
