around thrive city. hundreds of people were celebrating the fact the bay-area hosted the nba all-star weekend kron said jack moment is live and has the latest on that. jack. >> yeah, that's right. after and people have been piling in here to thrive city all day today to celebrate the final day of the nba all-star weekend. and for many people who call san francisco home, it also gave them the chance to show the world what san francisco and the bay area as a whole to offer. >> celebration for the end of a successful weekend in san francisco. the nba all-star weekend taking over the bay for the first time in 25 years. and you guys favorite part about the weekend. so just the festivities, the vibes, the coach of people lined up early to go through security and check themselves into the chase center for the all-star games. it's the first year they're hosting a mini

tournament. but those tickets inside they cost an arm and a leg is good. he's been really good, actually, countless fans just like this couple from fresno drove hours to be here in the moment, taking it all i always grew up or at lemon bay area on big giant snyder's man. actually grew up not really watching basketball, but the gentle warrior games to come on after the giants games to me, my brother grew up watching the warrior games and became aware everything was a celebration. some fans were upset. big games weren't blasted on the big screen at the front of the chase center. yeah, i was hoping they're goeng to play it. but it's alright. we'll find somewhere. watch you guys find out that they were do when we came but fans can still watch from inside bars and restaurants. but for this couple, think also yeah, far very far. if you're coming all this way from taiwan, you better get a ticket inside all have

first responders could not find the man who fell. no details have been released publicly on their identities. oakland fire officials investigating begin investigating the cause of warehouse. fire happened last night near the fruitvale bart station. >> along the intersection of 40th and san leandro. crews were able to get it under control quickly. no one was injured. the sierra got more than 40 inches of fresh snow over the last few days. the latest count, 41.1 inches. >> you're looking at scenes from palisades tahoe are the snow obviously made a lot of skiers and snowboarders. happy. and now for a look at the forecast as we're looking live at palace aides and gail, i can't tell if that's more snow or if it's just flurries what's already fallen. but look at that. yeah, there's definitely some wind out there and the sierra did get another round of snow showers this morning but not too impactful. so if you're heading out there for the three-day weekend.

depending where you are in the north bay around lunchtime. and we clear out around dinner time overnight, lows were anywhere between mid to upper 40's, maybe some low 40's by the valleys. daytime highs pretty similar is today in the upper 50's and low 60's. now let's take a look at the winds as well, single digits. but you're going to notice a push in the wind speeds tomorrow and this week as well. calm winds tomorrow. but then by the afternoon we'll see a pop in the winds anywhere from 10 to 20 miles per hour. depending where you are that into the late afternoon and evening. let's go to that next. chance of rain. this is wednesday's forecast. looks like wednesday and it will be out of here by wednesday evening, mainly aiming towards the north bay. and we could expect more winds with this system. so here's that 7 day outlook. will we have a few changes will start off quiet that next chance of rain midweek and then we warm up by the end of the week. we could see some 70's next weekend. back to you. thank you, gayle. >> some roads along the

pacific coast highway in los angeles county did reopened today. not all of them, but the major mudslides, flooding that's been causing a lot of damage to burn scar areas. bulldozers have been clearing out debris and boulders. some local businesses are still too damaged to reopen recent wildfires did destroy a lot of brush, which, of course, would otherwise be helping to keep soil anchored during rainstorms. in auburn, there was a benefit held at the gold country fairgrounds today to help wildfire victims. reporter reena shadix has that story. >> help victims of the southern caldera. and that's exactly what countless people like. emily pruitt from citrus heights did today at the gold

to resign this after the department of justice ordered his federal corruption charges be dropped. the mayor meantime says no, he's not going anywhere. reporter grace gomez has the latest. >> they are adams is not above the law. i think that he's distracted. he's worried about what's going on. and i think she should admit yes, if he is going to be >> compromised as he is right now, then, yes, even he must resign. political leaders across new york city are demanding mayor eric adams be removed or that he step down. the calls follow bombshell allegations made by former acting u.s. attorney for the southern district of new york before refusing orders to drop the case in resigning. she accused mayor adams and doj of negotiating a quid pro quo. she alleged that the doj agreed to drop the corruption charges. the mayor faces in

morning, but that has dissipated, as you can see in our future cast model, nothing but a few passing clouds partly cloudy skies here. mostly clear depending where you are for your morning drive or if you have the day off. if you have to be on the roads, looks like a dry commute tomorrow and even in the afternoon, a lunchtime partly cloudy skies throughout the afternoon and evening there and looks like a bit of some clearing fast forward to wednesday. that looks to be the next chance of rain. this is wednesday's forecast. so it looks to be aiming in the north bay and maybe a little more widespread. and then that system will be out of here by wednesday night. we are expecting some winds to go along with unlike today we didn't see a lot of wins. but wednesday we could see a pop in the winds overnight. lows were in the 40's anywhere in the low 40's in the north bay and places like livermore and morgan hill. but mid to upper 40's for you everywhere else. and here are the daytime highs very similar to today. upper 50's and low 60's and the winds look to become a little bit of a breeze here more. it's in the 10 to 15 miles per

hour range depending where you are. this is tomorrow morning. the single digits of 05:00am now late morning that we could see some breezy conditions anywhere from 10 to 20 miles per hour in the higher elevation. and it'll be breezy around lunchtime and into the late afternoon and parts of the evening. here's that 10 at 10 outlook where you can see those changes. so presidents day tomorrow, many of you have the day off, mostly cloudy and highs in the 60's chance of rain middle of the week. and then we dry out for the rest of the week and slightly warm up to the 70's maybe next weekend. we were talking about weekend. little hope that verifies cause. we could use a break after all those storms, little more blue sky, and that will be welcome. spring is coming. maybe you you get out >> well, the chp has first to san jose police officer injured while trying to break up a brawl overnight. that's what we're looking at here. happened in the downtown area near santa clara and san pedro streets. officers say they

were attacked at one point they had to call for backup. citizen video shows a crowd of people watching dozens of police cars blocked off the road. several people were arrested. the injured officer is expected to be okay. >> and the chp arrested 2 people in contra costa county accused of having more than 125 pounds of marijuana and their car this weekend. officers say they pulled the driver over for speeding and then spotted garbage bags stuffed they say with marijuana. the driver and the passenger were arrested on drug possession charges. despite crackdown on undocumented immigrants by the trump administration, deportation arrest numbers reportedly are down some the government has boosted resources but ice struggling to keep up with the administration goals. the number of daily arrests fallen from 800 a day in late january to fewer. then 600 this month.

governor newsom says that he will veto a bill that would prevent the state prison system from cooperating with ice. capitol correspondent eytan wallace has that story. well, i cannot stress to not. it is extremely rare for the governor to weigh in on a bill before it reaches his desk. but as pertains to this legislation calling on the state prison system not to cooperate with ice. >> the governor did weigh in hoping to send a strong message. he will veto it. so the california prison system cooperate with ice and federal immigration enforcement. that is the very issue is something bill 15 tried to get out when it was originally authored in december. >> in most cases it would have prevented the california department of corrections and rehabilitation or cdcr from cooperating with ice in several ways. chief among them, it would have barred the state prison system from keeping someone in custody when ice requests the cdcr to do just that the bill would have also prevented the state prison system from providing

ice with the prisoners release date and from transferring prisoners to directly to ice custody. but in a rare move before the bill even had its first committee hearing, governor newsom's office announced he will veto a be 15 or a bill like it if it reaches his desk. but the governor's office directing us to this message. the governor wrote when he vetoed a similar bill last year. newsom writing then quote, i believe current law strikes the right balance on limiting interaction to support community trust and cooperation between law enforcement and local communities. for this reason, i cannot sign this bill. i think the governor is doing the right thing in this instance and i disagree with him on a regular basis. that's the reaction from republican us. i'm a member, cho patterson. he believes the state should cooperate with ice poll after poll shows that people are concerned about crime. >> why would we possibly not work with our federal partners on immigration enforcement for criminals were talking about criminals, not a person here

hardworking. we're talking about people who work in prison. the governor's office notes since newsom took office in 2019. the state prison system has notified and coordinated with ice to transfer 10,588 prisoners into their custody prisoners. the governor's office says including murderers, rapists and violent offenders. they should be deported in our state should be working with the federal government to get them back out of this country. so continue to victimize people in this state. as for the future of ab 15, its main author, carson democratic assemblymember mike gibson said in the statement that he in his words introduced ab 15 with the intention of addressing an important issue. but the statement went on to say gibson is amending the bill to focus on in an entirely different issue. cold cases and resources for violent crime victims. patterson says he was happy to hear the original bill has been changed. of course, democrats changed the bill because the governor said what every californian things, which is this is an extreme is policy and to be clear, even with newsom's announcement,
