we're looking outside at some pretty clear skies this morning, too, as you can also see from the top of mount tam looking down into the bay. so couple of changes to note from yesterday. that is some already clear conditions out there. in fact, we're not even seeing a lot of fog like we did yesterday up in the north bay. so skies are definitely going to be nice and bright temperature wise. we are a little bit colder this morning, but don't let that fool you this afternoon actually does get a little bit warmer under these clear skies. a few 30's in livermore, dublin, as well as out into solano county. overall, though, temperatures will lift pretty quickly and already by the time that we reach noontime today, some of us will be right on the cusp of 60 degrees. all right, john, thanks for that. a lot of people back to work after that 3 day weekend. >> so we're seeing a lot more folks out there traveling and driving 14 minute ride on the bay bridge. the meter lights are on. that's a slowing you down 13 for the san mateo bridge. while year richmond center fell at 7 and the

boxing gym. this group of kids standing right now was the same group the team would normally train with. this is his coach for dover, rita this. henry list. it's not real. you know? >> it was random when win this state. he coached gutierrez for 2 years and says that this was unexpected, adding that gutierrez was a good kid. yeah, he was good. he was down. he wasn't scared. he was yeah. >> the 15 year-old with a student at sequoyah high school. his life was cut short friday on valentine's day. >> according to his family's gofundme, he was killed, stabbed in the heart while on a date with his girlfriend. said still to the for the state. we know feel right? san jose police say the suspects ran away before police arrived. gutierrez was taken to a hospital where he later >> feel really sorry for his family. and yeah, to the someone that young. especially the community less somebody that san jose mayor matt may have sent a statement to kron. 4 news that says, quote, as we

and red lights are not on. they seem to be focusing on one particular house. we are hearing reports that this possibly was a domestic violence situation, possibly between a father and son. reportedly this all went down at around one 30 last night are as he's the one 30 in the overnight hours. and then possibly shots were fired. we are trying to confirm some more information on this, but you can clearly see this is an area that you would not be here. and unless you lived here because, well, a pass you just cut through. it's just basically a cut through place between bay point in concord. and otherwise you would not go through here. so obviously police officers responded to the scene to because of possible domestic violence will let you know more information as we get it. but people are waking up this morning if they did not see it already, they are looking out their windows and seeing a whole bunch of police cars in front of their homes.

>> back to you. all right. thanks. we'll check you later for more info. well, also happening today, we've got school crossing guards rallying right now, speaking out against a proposal to eliminate those crossing guards. the sfmta is proposing these cuts today at the board of directors meeting. this comes after the agency faces a budget deficit for the fiscal year 2025. 26. the rally is set to be held at city hall before that meeting at 01:00pm 605, right now. and today crews in san francisco are going to start working to get rid of that. >> middle center bike lane that goes right down the middle of the lens. see a street that they put in because they thought it would be great. but businesses said no, this is actually ruining our business and causing a lot of confusion. plus the bicyclist and really feel that safe necessarily either. so it was a loss on all accounts. in fact, the business owners threatened to sue and they decided, ok, we're going to get rid of the middle. go back to the that old side. laina should take about 2 months to get all that work done. they're going to be working monday through friday. 07:00am to 05:00pm until they get it

done. >> developing news this morning out of union city police are investigating a situation where a person was hit by a car and around 8.30, last night. >> eastbound alvarado, niles road at almaden boulevard. so the area is closed off to traffic. you're advised to avoid that area while they investigate. >> well, in the east bay, a camera store is looking for help now after they were broken into over the weekend, you can see the damage here. this is looking glass photo on their go fund me page. they say a car rammed through the store's entrance multiple times and that a lot of merchandise was taken so far. more than $43,000 has been raised for the store out of their $50,000 goal. a lot of damage. meanwhile, teachers in san ramon are standing up against proposed budget cuts. they say they're pushing back against the district's proposal of 26 million dollars in cuts which include cuts to mental health support workers like counselors and social workers. more than 1000

teachers are set to rally today during lunchtime at the door valley high school. and that's set to begin at 11, 30. >> it's so 7 in parts all on the peninsula could undergo a major redevelopment owners of the hillsdale mall and san mateo have submitted a plan to turn part of that shopping center into housing. it's a part of a major redevelopment plan that was submitted by the mall's owners called hillsdale re imagined the project would take down the existing indoor mall structure and turn that space into homes, office and retail buildings and open space. some all employees have mixed feelings about this idea because hillsdale is a hot spot. they say for families. >> it's a mixed feeling for sure. i've only been here for like 5 minutes, but it's been helpful having a job that's nearby. and this is like the close to small within, kind of a distance. so it would kind

clara 5, a one. alameda five-three contra costa, 5 of 6, texas goes up to 5.12, now and 4 mateo napa and marin county. they're all at 5.19, a gallon, the most expensive county to fill up today would be sonoma coming in at 5.23. a gallon. so what's up with these prices driving up? so it's the east bay that we're looking at. a large fire broke out there at the martinez refinery, injuring several employees and leading to those air quality concerns. earlier this month when a refinery goes offline, production supply. demand is a factor. according to the energy information administration, the domestic supply drop by 3 million barrels last week. the u.s. putting out an average of 9 million barrels per day. now the demand for gas is up by about 200,000 barrels per day. and just look at the calendar. it's right on cue. refineries beginning to switch over from winter blend to the summer blend fuel. according to aaa. and that usually leads to higher gas

to even know. well. >> well, james, we are a little bit closer to the scene when you saw me at 6 o'clock, we were pushed way back and then we are pretty much about 50 feet or so from the home that they are focusing on. you can see all the concord police officers here. reportedly they arrived at around one 30 in the morning. you can see that home with the garage open and the lights. apparently this is a domestic violence situation reportedly between a father and son. not exactly sure if shots were fired by responding police officers. but this being 5 hours after this all went down and police officers are still here. i'm seeing about maybe 7 police cars here. my experience tells me officer did somehow get involved, maybe even fired shots for them to be here, especially with the show of force that they are currently at this time. we're not sure if anybody died from this.

neighbors are getting up. there are allowed to leave their home and get in their cars and then drive away. try to talk to a few neighbors. but they say they didn't hear anything. not surprising, especially at a time when they were probably asleep or they just don't want to talk. but it looks like they are not going anywhere anytime soon. the fact that we don't see any coroner's office here or an ambulance is a good sign that perhaps could be injury but not a fatality. i'll try to find out more information. but as you can clearly see, this is not toma. and the crossroad is willow pass and this section of no trauma has been shut down as it as it is a crime scene investigation. back to you. okay. thanks for the update. well, all right. time now is 06:33am. following the devastating fires in los angeles. some raga residents now want the town council to study wildfire evacuation routes. >> to better prepare for the future. the organization called safe baraga filed a lawsuit against the town

of black history month celebrations kron 4 sarah stinson takes us inside game heads in oakland. >> we all want the gaming industry to get to a point where you're not a unicorn is not a big deal that you're in the game, right. like you just do your part of everybody else. damon packwood is turning the video game industry on its head. he co-founded game heads in oakland, its mission to guide low-income students of color, ages 15 to 25 years old to the gaming world. >> if you give students the best hardware in the best software and then you provide them with the best instructors in the best mentors. they'll get very good and that that was always my theory. and where we're proud to see that actually coming to fruition. >> packwood is a san francisco a lot like a lot of these students and i grew up in low-income communities after earning his master's, he was teaching web design. but it wasn't long before you realized students were more interested in learning about gaming, then coating. they want to learn.

>> and it's just that sometimes we're not teaching them things that they want want in the game heads program, students gain a competitive edge with free classes. mentorship. >> and a state-of-the-art gaming center and lab students can stay enrolled until they get a job in the industry or age out. they do 6 months of in-class learning. >> all of our classes are taught by video game industry professionals during the summer. they all get video game industry professional mentors and they have to build a game over 15 weeks and then they have to showcase that game at the end of the summer and then they have to release that game online by the end of the year game heads black owned and operated in an industry that packwood says lacks representation. the numbers are out of work. >> that's why. >> it's so significant that we have an african-american board of people that are in the gaming industry because they they only represented 2%. and we just so happened get some
