responding to a crash involving a car and a motorcycle around 6.20 this evening. the motorcyclist was found dead at the scene. thank you for joining us for kron. 4 news at 10, dan thorn and i'm noelle bellow. police have shut down the intersection of northbound montague expressway at mission college boulevard as they continue to investigate. >> still no estimated time for reopening those roadways. but we will let you know if that changes. >> protests in sonoma county tonight over the sheriffs refusal to support a measure designed to protect undocumented migrants. more than a dozen people rallied outside the family community center in santa rosa where inside sheriff ed ian groom was addressing public safety with members of the hispanic chamber of commerce. demonstrators say the sheriff has been refusing to support a non collaboration with ice ordinance and that has them concerned about the safety of

undocumented immigrants in the county. >> we should not be cooperating with ice not be helping in any way that people should be forcibly removed from their homes. >> we did reach out to the sheriff's office to confirm the sheriffs stance on the ordinance. the office did not answer the question. only saying the office complies with state laws and based on the criteria they responded to 64 out of nearly 500 ice requests last year. fight between students force an east bay high school on lockdown today. just before noon, police got a report of a fight involving multiple students at dublin high school officers soon learned what started with 3 students attracted a crowd of 50 to 100 others. one of those high school students was taken to the hospital. another was evaluated and treated. both had just minor injuries. police are still looking into what led up to that fight.

region. but there is outrage tonight because the israel defense forces says one of the bodies is not a match for sherry be bus the epicenter, 2 children, ages 4, 9 months old, were kidnapped by palestinian militants on october 7th 2023 during the war, the family became a centerpiece of the cry for israeli hostages to be released. it was confirmed the young boys were 2 of the 4 bodies returned today, but their mother series whereabouts are unknown. >> we think this is another mine game that hamas is playing to try to provoke the trauma of israelis. and so all the more reason for this hostage deal to continue so that we don't see more of people coming back in coffins. >> the bay area's jewish community relations council is demanding the return of beavis body. 6 other hostages are expected to be released on saturday and 4 more bodies will be returned to israel next week. >> big story tonight in the south bay, small business owner in san jose speaking out after her business was broken

fantastic day. look at these numbers we had today. wow, it was 70 degrees. gorgeous day and conquered well above the average. 73 in santa rosa. 68 degrees and live more. 66 in san jose, 60 for both oakland and san francisco. so these numbers headed the right direction tomorrow may back off just a little bit. i think we're some cloud cover out there. so maybe slightly cooler, but only by a degree or 2 outside. right now, you've got a mostly clear skies that will likely change overnight tonight, even though we don't have the main cold front dropping in the bay area likely to see a few high clouds drop over the top of the ridge and maybe a couple patches of fog forming along the coastline, too. so we're going to watch for that very closely. but yeah, as we head through the night tonight, not a bad night around the bay area so far, so good. and then as we head toward early tomorrow morning, you wake up, you see some of those passing clouds early on and then maybe come patches of fog beginning to move it along the coastline. look at that. that's a sign we're getting closer and closer to spring. now starting to see some of that fog trying to form up toward the beaches there by tomorrow afternoon, but should be a very nice friday, all told around the bay area. the

temperatures, yeah, they're going to be comfortable. how about this numbers in the 60's across much of the bay area, some places in the valleys of the you get toward the santa clara valley, almost 70 degrees. then as we look towards saturday that sunshine and a few passing clouds, the numbers up in the 70's, the warmest spots then cooling down by next monday. we'll have more on your tan tan coming up a few minutes. all right, lauren, thank you. the oakland firefighters union says apartment fire last night is the perfect example of why fire stations should not be closing in the city. >> this fire broke out shortly after 9 o'clock at 55 macarthur, the apartments, 2 minute drive from fire station number 10. but that station closed 3 years ago for renovations and still has not reopened. accrue located 5 minutes away. we're the ones to respond to this fire. but the firefighters union says when it comes to response time, every minute is critical. >> every time someone calls 9, 1, because they need help right away. a fire doubles in size every 60 seconds. and

>> california's high-speed rail project could be next on the chopping block for the trump administration. the new head of the department of transportation says the project has been mismanaged. sean duffy held a news conference at union station in downtown la today. he said, though, the project was once exciting. the state is still short of its funding goals and there's an unstable and unreliable timeline for the project's completion. the ambitious project is designed to connect los angeles and san francisco, but has faced a complicated history with years of delays. >> we can't just say we're going to get money and then not hold states accountable to how they spend that money be spent per the agreements that they made with the federal government. best, there's 18 to 19 billion dollars if at all state in the fun. >> so that means you're 110 or

jeopardy. the president announced last night he wants to eliminate the trust, which manages the presidio along the city's northern edge. it was created in 1996 2 years after the former presidio army base was turned over to the national park service. since then it has rented out former military housing added and museums, small businesses and allowed nonprofits to rent space on the property. the 1500 acres of the presidio became self-sufficient in 2005 and has remained so ever sense. local leaders are speaking out against the push to abolish it. >> presidio trust, model of government efficiency. it's a self-sustaining agency. turns a profit. trump does not have the legal authority to terminate the presidio trust. it was created by an act of congress. so this move is illegal and i'm confident it will be challenged in court. can't believe that.
