just how much can we trust that technology? joining us live today is david. yeah, the founder of accordance a san francisco startup working to disrupt the finance industry with ai. good afternoon to you. >> it that we of course, great to see you, sir. david, give us the elevator pitch your walk us through what your company does and the problem that you're working this all. yeah. at accordance we have to have a very simple mission and it's the empower every the counting professional and every tax professional in the world. >> with the best ai-powered tools. and what we do have a court and says we've built a lot of these ai powered solutions and we put the and has a real practicing professionals to give them more hours back in the day and the more productive got it. so your company, of course, caught the eye of some major brand name investors like >> khosla ventures, which invested in doordash and instacart. you also have support from sequoia, another big investor. they're known for airbnb and nvidia. so clearly you have something interesting going on here with your product. but how do you
12:31 pm
ensure that your ai is generating accurate, dependable information to companies that are really managing a lot of people's money. >> yeah, we're very privileged to work with some of the greatest investors in the world. and we're also really privileged to work with some of the greatest talent and team in the world. so a lot of our team brings expertise from research labs from sanford. there is other research institutions that also from the tax and accounting professional demand. so bring professors and lawyers and tax lawyers who have the expertise put that all together to build the most powerful technology tools. i think when think about, hey, like, you i today is hallucinating are making, you know, making up information. a lot of the work that we do from a technological perspective is built around. how do bring animals are not just accurate and powerful but also get the correct information and get the post best possible information for our customers and users. how so how do you ensure that that information is the best in the most optimal? yeah, a lot of that comes from the technology to
12:32 pm
is taking the best data, right. so one of the key things that you might know if you put in that data, you get sort that out. right. garbage in garbage out. and so a lot of our work is built around taking some of the world's best data when it comes to the authoritative sources around tax and accounting and then putting that into the right models and then building the right verification mechanisms and some of the right tools around how we have check if information is correct and doing that level of technological innovations, a bill to get accurate answers parents. of is. tax season is coming up, right? so can you give us an example are a few examples really use cases of how your software works to streamline processes for people who are in tax and accounting. >> yeah, i to give additional tax advice. but one of things that we do is we serve some of the biggest companies in the world and we help lot of the companies as they can. but their strategy when it comes to how we build the right tax
12:33 pm
strategy with, you know, the regulatory atmospheres, possibly changing the administration across not just the federal level that the state and the locals are also constantly changing. and so a lot of the work that we bills and the tools that we build helping these companies jobs and being able optimize a lot of their strategy when it comes to the constantly changing in flux of regulations. so perhaps you could give us an example of how say like a an accountant at maybe one of the big 4. we'll utilize your software to help with their day to day process with working with clients. yeah, absolutely. i think one that's very top of mind today the administration is is tariffs, right? tariffs constantly changing and the measures has established more look for god to tears and different industries. and it's it's an evolving area where there's not a lot concrete information, but there's also a lot of moving parts of making decisions. and so a lot of our customers are professionals use our tools, use our records platform to better understand how to actually take if companies tax
12:34 pm
position, attack strategy adopted to the new laws are coming out with the tariffs that are being in place got it. so. >> would love to get your thoughts on this, too. is there a possibility that ai could be used on the consumer level to help people with their personal finances as well? so, for example, instead of hiring a tax professional anyway could just turned ai and have a plug in the numbers for them. >> yeah, absolutely. i think that is one a division the same way that, you know, you have a fun your pocket, right? maybe you have tax professional that exist in your pocket. and everyone bracing to market get access to real task expertise and really kind of expertise that the average everyday person today doesn't get access to it. so i think the vision for that is definitely there. i think we're still early. and so a lot of are a lot of our work today is figuring out how to do the right technologies. the first saw some of the most complex challenges in the business for out and and what we can do that we can figure out a bring that to really the rest of the people serious cases. you know, david, of course, i know you're in the finance ai vertical, but where
12:35 pm
do you see artificial intelligence going in the next 5 to 10 years? yeah, that's that's a great question. i think it's hard for it. not the case. sometimes on, you know, where going to be. i think often times people overestimate where technology will be one year from now. but underestimate world will be 5 years from now. so i think that we will continue to i really believe that every aspect of our daily lives all industries, right in the same without software, even 20 years you know, we see that not just from our consumer, they live from our business lives. and, you know, all of these different domains, we'll see the same thing happened with ai as well and alternate all right. and just to wrap things up here, you know. >> how is it operating a startup in san francisco right now in their early 2010's, we saw his boom of startups, of course, tech workers everywhere in the city. but a very different picture right now. so walk us through how things are going for you guys. >> yeah, i think big about there and already sort of is a real privilege. i think when you know, i was in the bay area in the 5 years ago when covid first started and i was step stanford for dropped out.
12:36 pm
and while we're there, i think we saw really covid has transformed a lot of san francisco in the city. i think what seeing most recent years that i'm the open. that's coming from a it is really picking up the city and bringing it back to what it was before. and yes, exciting you know, there's no better city to san francisco building a startup. >> all right. what a positive way to end it. thank you so much, david, for joining us. the founder of accordance we can't wait to hear from you when you reach ghat unicorn status. thanks, stephanie. all right. thank you. >> by this afternoon, ms talk a bit about snow conditions outside with a live look at highly to 67 at truckee bypass. just a gorgeous view there, kyla. yeah, absolutely. see those ski trails in the background. it is ski week for a lot of people. and you can really tell as we take a live look here. diamond peak. look how crowded it is up here at the lunch tables. a lot of people enjoying just fantastic weather. obviously we've got a good snow base that's up there. not expecting any new snow this weekend, but the

12:38 pm
