thank you, it's 7:03 am. we begin this half-hour with an unusual story about an suv theft. according to sparks police, she said she was heading north in the sparks approaching grand jury when her car was hit from behind. she says that she got out the tech the damage -- check the damage, but the other driver never did. when she returned to her car, there was a man demanding money from her wallet. he apparently return the wallet and then drove off in her car. the suspect is described as a white van with a bald head, and a tattoo on his head, and tattoo sleeves on his arm. the driver is suspected of being white and in her 30s with blonde hair. if you have any information

police department at 322-4900. in more news, reno police are looking for suspects after they say that two men robbed in elderly man. a pulmonary search to close off for a couple of hours. this of course has k9 unit searched the home. they are described as light in black or his bennett. -- light-skinned black or hispanic. they have a heavy build and has a tattoo. they are asking you to be on a lookout for this car. maybe it is related to this crime. it is an older white two-door passenger car. it also has a sunroof and a spoiler.

suspect vehicle that might have been related to other residential burglaries. that's why we are getting information out to the media in the community. hopefully, we can get there suspects -- the suspect into custody. >> you are asked to call the tip line 322-4900, with any information. they say the elderly victims injuries are not life- threatening. a rise in the number of reported cases involving sexual assault, that they say there may be a reason why denise cordova is the head of the department that began awareness training for incoming students in 2012 which involves getting students information on how to report sexual assault. she says since then it has gone from one in 2012 to 16 last year. that doesn't necessarily mean that more people are getting sexually harassed just more are reporting certain incidents.>>

are getting ready to go into effect. when university is talking about dropping topics from the curriculum to compare. students faculty and staff with a concealed handgun license will be allowed to carry in most areas of texas public university. now the university is talking about how professors should censor themselves. a recent presentation giving to faculty -- given to tackle -- faculty suggest letting students access hours. ask your selves what you think. starting off first, what you think? i think, that it shows a concern by the university, if a discussion gets really heated, people have concealed weapons. and they can just pull a gun and shoot.

student health. but the states as the wellness policy is raising more questions and answers. -- and answers. >> the problem was, every school was handling things differently. >> reporter: she is the school district's parent and a contributor. she recently wrote about her concerns about the school wellness policy which ultimately limit the types of foods allowed on every school districts campus.>> is a lack of clarity, what are the repercussions if the policy is broken. 4 i met with the school nutrition services manager for the department of agriculture to get a better understanding of the policy. >> we focus in on processed foods and created this list to help determine whether or not processed foods meet the criteria. 4 the criteria is the smart snacks nutrition standard. but the approved list seems to be for most of the confusion

policy does not pay, but the only foods that can be sold or given away are foods that are approved on the smarts necklace. we created that list to show what prudes meet the criteria in terms of the individual foods that the district will or will not allow that the district level decision. 4 recently they sent him a letter to parents stating in part, at this time the policy applies to every school day including holidays, versus, and special events. which means any snacks brought into the school on the special occasions would have to meet certain calorie cut sugar, rhodium, and that limits.>> it seems like parents and teachers are the ones who are bearing accountability. there's a lot of cutting off of celebrations altogether because no one wants to police this. >> reporter: she says the limitations can be altered by the district but because the county has not finalized its own policy, there are not any exceptions.

they have to meet as far as getting that policy together? >> you know, we really work with them to get that set up. it's my understanding that they are in the final stages of getting that finalized. 4 a statement provided reads in part, there has been concern among parents and students regarding a lack of special occasion days at schools during this review and veltman.. but they took the time and needed to ensure the proposed regulation would meet the needs of students as they grow and learn. they say the wellness policy committee comprised of teachers, and health officials has completed its work in the policy will review by tracy davis in the next several weeks. 4 as you can see, there are many pieces to this puzzle. if you would like to look at the policy and the related
