we're going to have much more on that coming up on "the today show." . reno police investigating a shooting that happened just before midnight in the 200 block of north virginia street. this is downtown reno. police tell news 4 the shooting took place inside the casino, and that one person was taken to renown with unknown injuries. one person is also in custody, and all parties involved are reportedly cooperating with the investigation. we don't know if the victim and suspect know each other or not. we're going to be following this story throughout the day, keep you posted on any new developments. now we have an update on a story we've been following for you throughout the weekend. truckee police crews have found the body of a second man whose caw in capsized friday night. officials say they found lucas johnson's body in about 60 feet of water yesterday afternoon at the northeast corner of the lake near where they believe

he was from auburn a. rescue team found the body of a man, he has been identified as josh what patterson from cool, california. officials do not believe the men were wearing life vests. the water in donor lake was between 37 and 39 degrees over the weekend. there's new information this morning on a recent decision impacting solar customers. we're learning of a decision that will impact some institutions, including the city of reno and washoe county school district. for you the taxpayers, that means the anticipated energy savings are not what were initially thought. it also means there's new math in calculating how long it will take to recoup the millions of dollars in investment made in solar projects by the city and school district. naomi duer said reno installed storm systems. seven of those are affected by

>> we were expecting a savings of 1.6 million to $3 million over the life of the system. looks like this may cut our savings by 80 to a hundred thousands dollars, in that ballpark. >> the school district has 39 solar systems. jason getties with the district says up to six of those systems could be impacted by the new rates. still he says he's much more concerned about an upcoming rate class. getties says there's no way to know which direction solar pc is going to take. nevada eastern is joining the fight against president obama's plan to cut green-house gas emissions. ag adam lansalt filed documents, saying he endorsed the fight in several states against the clean power plant. he believes states have a right to decide pollution emission standards for themselves. a climate advocacy representative says lansalt is choosing the interest of -- over the health of communities and the climate. lansalt says he believes the

authority and effort to implement obama's plan. . pretty picture, tim. >> still see the snow hanging out on the foothills there. i was up in the mountains yesterday, skiing, and it is melting fast. >> it is melting quickly. we had very warm temperatures last couple days. continue to have warm temperatures next several days as well. we have another chance for another system next weekend and into the beginning of next week. that's something we'll keep an eye on indication few days. speaking of next few days, we'll look at some of these forecast highs and how they compare to the records for these dates. now, we're not really too close to the records; but by tomorrow that's our best chance. forecasting a high of 70 degrees. the record stands at 72 back in 1934. keep in mind the average is 55 degrees for this time of year. we are way above those averages, still going forward. today 67 in reno sparks.

day. we have tree pollen skyrocketing out. there it niece the high category. believe it or not n february, we're talking pollen levels. june inner and cedar were the biggest offenders as far as that pollen is concerned. there are other trees in the mix, but those are the ones that were the highest. everything else is low to nothing at all between grass and mold. still warm out there for the day today. still well above average. not terribly close to the records. but we will be closer tomorrow. light winds for today. a little breezier by the time we get to your tuesday. temperature now 33 degrees. mostly cloudy to partly cloudy skies in the truckee meadows. 3 miles per hour winds, and 66% humidity.

most of northern nevada. and we're in the 40s down across the southern part of our viewing area, places like tonapaw and bishop are in the low 40s now. mix of sun and clouds today. dry today. not much in the way of showers on the 7-day forecast till we get to next week. that's when they're looking at the next chance for a storm system out. there still pretty far away. a lot of details yet to be nailed down with that one. 50 to near 60 degrees for the nearby part of the state. western nevada into the 60s for the day today. light winds today, little more wind tomorrow. up around the lake, highs into the 50s. a little warmer tomorrow, though. mostly cloudy to partly cloudy skies, well into the 60s for the lower elevations of western nevada. keep in mind the average high for reno sparks, 55 degrees today. we're going to be about 12 or so degrees above that. we're into the 60s for a lot of our northern zones. at 67 in reno sparks for your high. 7-day forecast, again, not too much going on. a little more of a breeze going on for your tuesday. but also temperatures will be a

this comes in the midst of an industry-wide investigation into sub-prime mortgage lending. federal prosecutors are examining potential violations by ge's wmc mortgage lending business from 2000 to 2007. the company says they'll cooperate with the investigation. citigroup says they received a subpoena from federal prosecutors over its possible involvement in the bribery scandal. the first large u.s. bank to receive such a notice from investigator, citigroup disclosed the subpoena late friday, saying they'll cooperate with investigators. sam? . >> this time tomorrow, voters and caucus goers will make their choices for democratic and presidential nominees in more than a dozen states and u.s. territories, known of course as super tuesday. the single-day contest representing a key juncture in the primary race. >> 595 delegates are up for

in prince william county. officer gwind,n was working her first field shift after she was sworn in on friday. two other officers were also injured. ronald hamilton, an active-duty staff sergeant assigned to the pentagon, is accused of shooting gwinden after killing his wife. an ohio pastor shot dead inside his church during a service yesterday morning. william schooler had just walked back to the pullpet inside scion baptist church when the resort got out of a pew and followed him. witnesses say they heard a couple shots fired while the choir was singing, and chaos quickly came. everybody started running out of the church. more than 20 people were inside at the time of the shooting. the shooter is believed to be the shooter's brother, and dayton police are still investigating a possible motive. one of pope francis's adviser ises acknowledged on sunday the catholic church made enormous mistakes in preventing thousands of children from being

>> thank you very much. let's get a final look at your forecast before we head over to "the today show" on news had. >> it's a pretty quiet workweek for us. pretty warm temperatures as well. the big difference for most of the days over the workweek is going to be tomorrow. breezy conditions. outside of those breezy conditions, upper 60s and low 7 0s common for the first half of this workweek. low 60s by the time we get to thursday and friday. a mix of sun and clouds next few days here, and then, by next weekend, that's when we're watching our next moisture chance. comes along with the potential for our next winter storms. a lot of variables to deal with. we'll be getting more details nailed down as we get closer to it. very warm temperatures nonetheless over the next few days here. way above the averages. not really in record territory until about tomorrow. i think tomorrow is our best chance to meet the record or maybe even exceed it for your tuesday in reno sparks. but again most of that 7-day forecast, pretty quiet, pretty dry. breezy conditions tomorrow for your tuesday. >> february really ended up on a quiet note.
