a 7-eleven clerk shot dead in cold blood during an armed robbery overnigh surveillance video that captured the whole thing. just 22 years old, the tragic death of a chandler native and university of arizona offensive lineman. >> and trapped or just refusing to lead? who is coming to the rescue of valley owl? thank you for being here. first at noon, family members speaking out after what's being called the violent death of a very young child. >> a three-year-old found dead

near 111th avenue and peoria. now mcso has not released very many details at this time. but neighbors do tell us that a single mother lives in the home with her five children, and that one of the siblings, a 16-year-old boy, may have killed the toddler and attacked some of the other children. steve krafft spoke to a family member moments ago and he joins us live. steve? >> reporter: i'm in front of that family home. there's a very poignant memorial here. you can see that little toy truck. a three-year-old died in this terrible tragedy, possibly an older brother involved. i'll show you some pictures now of the memorial. to the 3-year-old boy who died, his name is princeton. he was killed saturday night. the boy's grandfather, bob cope, told us the five kids live in the house with a single mom. they range in ages from 17 to just three, and those kids had visited him earlier on saturday, and then he dropped them back

saturday evening. the children's mom was at work when the tranld took place. among the boys, 16-year-old older brother to princeton, investigators said he might be connected but did not confirm how the little boy was killed, although he said blood spatters that we saw outside the house were connected to this tragic event. a 9-year-old girl was injured but is out of the hospital and is now they say that little princeton was a special needs child. he asked for the public's understanding and privacy. here's some of what he had to say. >> this is a horrible thing, where you have some vital part of your being ripped away from you, and anybody who hasn't had that happen might not understand, but this is a horrible time that i don't wish on anybody. >> reporter: and what that grandfather mr. cope told us is

employees at this 7-eleven and family members are coping and mourning with the loss here. the manager is not releasing a lot of information about what happened or about the employee, so the 7-eleven here remains closed today as detectives try to piece together what happened here. police say the suspect robbed this 7-eleven at gunpoint, ordering the employees to empty the cash register. but he didn't just take off after he got the money. police say the robber ordered the two emploes back room, and it was there that the robbers shot and killed one of the employees. the other employee was able to get away. we don't know what happened in that back room that prompted the shooting. the gunman ran off. we spoke to a regular customer here who says he is shocked and he describes the night clerks as nice and friendly. >> they were nice. i mean, i have seen people come in short $0.50 fora fountain drink or whatever, and they

they are always spoking and having fun. real pleasant people. i couldn't believe it. >> all right. we are having some problems with nicole garcia there. so the thing you need to take away from this is the person who did this last night at the 7-eleven is still on the loose. we don't have a great description from him, his face was covered and he was also wearing gloves. this just into the newsroom, a chandler native and university of arizona football player passes away unexpectedly and mysteriously at this point. u of a announcing this morning that zach hemmila died in his sleep last night. the cause of his death has not been released at this time. we do know that he was just in a team meeting last night. he was 22 years old.

available to all of those u of a players there. we are learning more about an officer-involved shooting in phoenix that happened around 10:30 last night around central and mcdowell. a couple was fighting outside a home. a man went inside, got into a fight with his mother. people could hear the fight getting physical. the man had a knife and officers opened fire on him. he is expected to survive. no officers were hurt. a major computer glitch around the world. we'll take a live look at those, all of those delta flights. everything is back on track at this hour in terms of some of those planes taking off. now we know there is probably going to be some delays and cancellations throughout the day but of course they are working their way back to normal here. a much different scene though around the country, including right here in the valley.

harbor this morning. the first flight in the air was from phoenix. it was around midnight or so. but hopefully those folks are on their way to their destination. >> a fox follow-up now on a baby owl that could be stuck or it could be choosing to stay here at a west phoenix warehouse. a valley rescue group went out to check on the owl when construction workers were saying, hey, it's been up there for a while and they are worried e the plan tonight is to leave the doors open at the construction site and they will check back on the owl in a few days. if the owl doesn't leave, they will head back out and check on the situation coming up, he lays it out on the table today. donald trump's plan to make america grow again, when we come

it has quickly grown to more than 4500 acres, up from 1,500 acres late last night, fire burning 55 miles east of l.a. in a remote area near silverwood lake. the femme -- the family of a texas boy sued the school, filed on behalf of ahmed with having a hoax bomb. the charge was later dropped but he was still suspended. the family has moved to qatar, citing threats and a scholarship offered to him in the persian gulf country. an investigation is underway after a stunt motorcyclist accidentally drives into a crowd at a motorcycle rally injuring four people. >> the scene was caught on camera here, a youtube video shows a motorcyclist on stage

your exclusive accuweather forecast on fox 10 news. well, good afternoon everyone about 12:15 today on your monday. hope you had a great weekend. firly pleasant outside in terms of storms at this hour. you can see some of our skies across the state, they are looking pretty nice right now. we won't experience any storms today likely or tomorrow. but as we move into wednesday, we'll get a quick look at that

here's a quick look at our tower cam right now. and if you were up earlier, maybe made it outside of the house, you probably noticed that we were able to see lots of those mountains all across the valley. pretty nice this morning. i am sure if you went out for that morning run, maybe the hike, you noticed you could see some of those mountains. 103 at this hour, and for the record, for today, take a look at these numbers. 105 is our normal, 116 is our record. so we are right in that normal range. temperatures across the state take a 96 up in page, flagstaff cool 78 degrees. pretty nice up there at those san francisco peaks, 92 in winslow, 88 in payson, white mountains at 81 degrees and show low. and over along the colorado river you see 104, bullhead city 106, lake havasu -- yuma is at 105 this year, temperatures right here across the valley, you'll see lots of low 100s, 103

probably one of the warmest areas across the valley at this hour. eastern seaboard 70s and 80s probably pretty humid as well, down through florida, 80 down in miami, across the midwest 83 this wichita, 81 in omaha and 62 in seattle. this is probably one of the nicest times of the year to be up in the pacific northwest, just beautiful. take a look at some of these storms. take a look at the state of florida, all of those storms brewing there across the gulf, really feeling some of the midwest into the denver area as well. forecasted highs across the state, 99 in page, flagstaff 78. look at these cities across the colorado river, 111 in lake havasu. it is going to be warm there. forecasted lows tonight, take a look show low 58 degrees, st. john's 60, going to be nice in window rock, 65. in sedona 69 degrees, and 65 for
