safely through it. this is crazy out there. this is near buckeye. it was coming down. we're getting reports of trees down. nearly 1,500 businesses an homes are without power. this rain coming down sideways at times. in central phoenix, in the highland area. the valley under another weather alert. a huge cloud of d into the valley just before sunset and this is the downpour hitting downtown when it arrived. the question everybody wants to know is there more rain in store and how could it possibly last. we're dealing with tropical moisture. very hard, which areas were hit the hardest? dave munsey joins us live from the weather center. this is the tropical storm

>> reporter: that is the tropical storm and a little bit of earl. a lot of moisture coming up. we had a full bucket this week but that bucket is getting more empty now. let's take a look at it here. you can see that storm system rolling right through phoenix coming up from the south and coming in from the west as well. take a look at all of the lightning strikes that came with it, especially in the buckeye area. that is where the big storm take a look at some of these numbers south of the valley. you see south of casa grande, a little over an inch and almost two inches to the southeast of gila bend. this is the area that was hit hard, the buckeye area. you can see the storm rolling through there. 1.8 and .5 of an inch northwest and southwest.

coming down. we get into the laveen area. a little over an inch south of avondale. there is almost 2 inches south as well. they are looking at pretty wetter rain. side of phoenix here.into the- those amounts are down just a little bit in tollesson, we get a little less than that. take a look at the paradise valley area and sky harbor to see the moisture working its way through the area. there is still moisture out there and it hasn't worked its way through. this storm system is starting to wear itself out. it is starting to dry out a little bit from the western edge. we will keep an eye on it and we will be right back to take a

what we think will happen in the future. >> thank you, dave. weather leading to a dangerous rescue. a man driving south of florence gets trapped in an overflowing wash. it rushed around his truck leaving him no way out. the 32-year-old had to get out of his truck and on top that is how high the wer they were able to pull him safely out without a moment to spare. a shooting after midnight leaves one woman dead and two others wounded with the shooter possibly still out there. danielle miller joins us with the story tonight. scary thought this guy could be out there. >> reporter: absolutely, kari. police telling us the person they believe is responsible is still on the loose. the woman who was shot and

she had been around the suspect's house a couple of times. this phoenix neighborhood painting a different picture tonight than it did this morning. just after midnight, police say a 42-year-old woman, along with her 62-year-old boyfriend and a 65-year-old neighbor who ran to help was shot by 35-year-old adam blomdahl. after shooting the woman, they say he ran over her with his car. >> he ran over her appearance, with the car. he backed the vehicle up and ran over her a second time and eventually a third and a fourth time before leaving the area. >> i don't know how she was standing after being shot four times. standing up saying help me, i think i'm dying. oh, my god. i was like just lay down, stay still and that is when he came driving around and ran her over.

the two men are? stable condition. the woman suffered from sever mental health issues and having police in the area isn't uncommon. >> we have taken her to seek urgent psychiatric care trying to help her. >> reporter: it was unclear what led up to the shooting, police hope to locate blomdahl. he has blond hair and blue eyes and driving four-door sonic. if you have any information on this case or know where blomdahl might be, you're asked to call police. danielle miller, fox 10 news. a 16-year-old boy accused of killing his 3-year-old brother in a violent and brutal murder in youngtown, arizona, appears before a judge today. newly released documents detail the crime.

brother, again 3 years old, from the second floor to the first floor and ran down the stairs, grabbed a knife from the kitchen and began stabbing the toddler. he stabbed his 9-year-old sister after she tried to stop the vicious attack. she is wounded but expected to survive. holloway is being held in the fourth avenue jail on $1 million bond. people on edge with the suspected serial shooter on the loose nine random shootings has left seven people dead so far. the guardian an an patrolling the neighborhood. >> reporter: just a little while ago, i got a talk to the leader of guardian angels. he says what is most shocking is half of the people they run into have no idea that the serial

loose right now and that motivates them to be patrolling area and spreading the flyers. in their signature red berets, members of the guardian angels continue to patrol the area at 32nd street and oak street. >> the guy is in the car so he can be anywhere in phoenix and this is for everybody, everybody has to be aware of what is going on with this guy. >> reporter: according to police, there has been nine nighttime shootings from m to july leaving seven dead and two injured. >> my concern is he is going to kill somebody or injure someone. we want the guy caught before there is another victim. >> reporter: that is why the guardian angels are not giving up about spreading news about the serial shooter. >> help the other person who cannot help themselves. there is a lot of people who can't defend themselves. we are here for them.

the f.b.i. needs your help in finding a dangerous bank robber that they call the cyclical bandit. this man is believed to have robbed two arizona banks, almost exactly a year apart. the first bank was the chase bank. he was dressed identically. the second robbery last wednesday in kingman. he told tellers both times he had a gun and he demanded >> we consider him armed and dangerous. of course, public safety is always a concern for us. you have tellers and people inside the bank that can understandably be traumatized by these sorts of crimes. >> authorities believe he is 5'11", maybe six feet tall. if you recognize this guy, you are asked to call silent witness or f.b.i.

hi, everybody. look at it. back in the 80's and the storm pushes its way through. we have 81 at deer valley. 84 in mesa. 91 in chandler. look at that, 75 degrees up surprise. 81 in buckeye. they were 79 there after the storm came through. things have been warming up again. still moisture out there. that storm system coming out of the south and the west here moving through phoenix and bringing quite a bit of moisture with it. the buckeye area picking up just under 2 inches, 1.8 is what these guys had. in the city here, we were

little less than .5 of an inch. the storm system is wearing out a little bit. we go up to flagstaff. you see a little bit of active weather through the day up there. north of there, tuba city, we had storms rolling through. there are a few good storms hanging around in the area. we continue with a flash-flood watch until 11:00 this evening. down in tubes, the area looking at a flash-flood watch as we do have a flood warning until 10:45 this evening. also, there was an i've a yags weather warning for lightning strikes across the valley. as you can see in the futurecast , we have moisture hanging around tomorrow morning. the storm system pushing more moisture in here and from there on in, it cleans on out of there.
