buckeye boy. >> plus the push for recreational marijuana one step closer to making it to the november ballot. something could be standing in the way. thank you for joining us on fox 10 at 10:00. video being released of the deadly shooting of a 7-11 store clerk. police hoping it would lead to an arrest in this case and fox 10's nicole garcia joins plea tonight. this video might possibly help. it can't hurt. >> the victim is 36-year-old man known as sunny. he was a hard worker and the customers loved him and police today releasing surveillance video of the armed robbery and murder of sonny. as you will see, the gunman knew what he was doing. he covered his face up really

somebody out there knows who the gunman is. >> this is surveillance video from the 7-11 on 16th street and southern in south phoenix. the gunman demanded money from the two clerks who handed over all the cash in the register. then he ordered the two employees to a back room. that's where the victim, 36-year-old clerk got into the struggle with the man with the gun. he was shot and killed. >> when to work every day for 12 2:00 p.m. five, six days a week. he showed nothing but kindness. love and respect toward everyone. all of the customers. >> the victim was known as sonny and his family is asking why did he have to die? >> he gave the money. whatever he want. his hand is up there in the air. and why his brother got shot. >> the gunman chased after the second clerk who tried to get

away. even with this surveillance video, it's hard to make out who the gunman is. his face covered with the bandanna and sunglasses. a hoody over his head. but you can clearly see he has a large gun. police describe it as a machine gun similar to the tech 9 brand. >> my humble request to the community, especially on 16 street and southern neighborhood, please come out. somebody must know what happened >> and the 7-11 corporation made a big donation to the reward in this case which now stands at $11,000. they are hoping money is going to get people to talk in this case. if you have any information you are asked to call 480-witness. reporting live, i'm nicole garcia. the chase heading westbound on i-10 heading into phoenix before the suspect eventually headed east bound on the loop 202. maybe you were one of these unfortunate drivers who saw this thing whizzing by you. officers deployed spike strips eventually and police say the driver then went on to kyrene and even after the tow truck caught fire. see the sparks coming from the back end there. witnesses describe as he took off on foot. >> he got d said, you know, this is a best damn tow truck i ever stolen. they had to chase me for four hours. i'm glad he didn't hurt anybody, inept people. >> and that is a long chase if it when on for four hours and that thing was moving a police dog eventually brought the guy down he was taken to the hospital to be checked out and will be facing charges. >> it's now been more than a

jesse wilson disappeared from his buckeye home and today police were out searching a nearby field. the fbi buckeye police and the maricopa county sheriff's office they all took part in this search. police are calling it a secondary search. they searched this field once before. they are double-checking areas areas that have been previously been searched. officers say there is no sign of that little boy. a ten-year-old boy that's gone missing. i mean for all of us that are something we hold sake ready and -- sacred and we will continue to do everything we possibly can to bring closure to the family. >> buckeye police say they will not stop looking for jesse. this case is still being investigated as a runaway case. a valley poker room raided this evening for what police are calling illegal gambling. several people arrested at the poker union. name of the business. and the gold house, the arizona

police served four search warrants at two glendale homes as well as at those businesses. investigators say illegal operation allowed members to gamble during poker games in tournaments. about five employees are facing charges including promotion of illegal gambling and racketeering. the drug enforcement administration, dea, is not changing its stand on marijuana no matter how many states legalize it they say it's still classified as a dangerous marijuana remains a schedule 1 substance which is in the same classes a heroin and lsd and ecstasy. this comes after the agency consulted with the health and human services agency and they say that pot has a high potential for abuse and has no acceptable level of safety or medical use in the united states. more than two dozen states and washington, d.c., have laws allowing medical use of the drug. >> there are a million plus

using it on a consistent basis to help with hiv and aids and glaucoma and cancer and ptsd and even just general pain. >> the dea is allowing more institutions however to grow pot plants for research. here in the valley people pushing for legalizing recreational marijuana. one step closer, a measure has qualified for the arizona ballot this november. secretary of state michele reagan's office says the marijuana act has enough valid signatures to proceed and to be put on the ballot to a vote. if approved, arizonans 21 years and older could possess up to an ounce of marijuana. they could grow up to six plants for the personal use. the drug will be taxed at 15%. i think you actually take the criminal element out of it. because it's no longer undergrond. it's above ground.

pets into stores and maybe seen the little vests on their pets a they put them in the grocery cart there are new signs being posted at basha's grocery stores and other valley businesses telling people to leave their pets at home. danielle miller joins us now live to tell us what it's all about sounds like people are trying to pass their pets off as service animals. >> yeah, possibly. basha's telling us the reason why they posted these signs was the amount of dogs they have seen in their store so far this summer they are telli it's actually been quite a bit. they are telling us that some dogs are seen inside the shopping cart which is against store policy and we are learning today that basha's isn't the only business dealing with the issue. >> pets that are coming in just to kind of keep them cool or running errands with, with mom, that unfortunately we do have to ask those folks to take those pets home before they come back. >> several valley basha's locations now have these signs

animals welcome. please don't try to pass your pet off as a service animal. ashley shik with the store says this is a direct response to the amount of dogs they have seen in their stores this summer. >> we sell groceries and every single day food safety is the utmost importance to our organization. and when you have animals in store we want to make sure that we are keeping the cleanest stores possible and everything is 100% up to code where it should be. >> basha's not alone on the ise. apache junction says people bring dogs into the restaurant all of the time claiming to be service dogs. >> we see they have extra plate and then the dog sitting on the chair and tables and are eating the fries. >> pinole county supervisor who works with paws for life which trains service animals says this is becoming a major issue. he says the service dog is a dog that performs a specific action when needed to assist the person

house says a dog in a shopping cart doesn't cut it. >> let's say you have an issue and call more may day, when you call may day that dog is supposed to get you help it can't do that in the cart. >> unfortunately people are taking advantage of the system knowing legally there is nothing a store or restaurant owner can do. >> legally, you can ask is that your service dog. and they say yes, and what tasks does that service dog perform for you? and that's all you can >> and there are a few laws about this. federally but house bill 2255 which is a state law here in arizona that will go into effect at the end of the month. which is allowing local law enforcement to be able to enforce it. it states a service dog must be on the leash under control and no more than three feet from the owner. it can't be barking or lungeing at other dogs. house who you saw in that package there is hoping to get

there was some moisture around earlier in the day. you can see here that moisture is gone. it has taken off. what we will do is take a look at what is left and that is a flood warning and that is going to be through friday afternoon. there is still a little run-off going on. 98 degrees for the high today. you can see those other numbers pretty close to that. we had a 99 in glendale. we have a 97 in cha the state here show low 77. 76 in flagstaff. 84 in prescott. 100 at gila bend. take a look at your day, 98 on the high. 78 on the low. 105 and 83 normal high and low. record high 113. record low at 65. take a look at your forecast for tomorrow as we go to 100 degrees. in fact, look at the west side there. a lot of 100-degree

goodyear and then a lot of 90-degree temperatures. fighting it out there who will be cooler. 90 is the forecast for sedona. 78 for flagstaff. 99 in casa grande. and 94 down in tucson. looking across the country a couple of areas that we are looking at here. you see this moisture here from the southwest. feeding all the way up into the central plains into the high plains. those are good storms out there look at this storm system moving toward chicago. probably be an hour or so. and then this low pressure system started actually the storm system started over in the panhandle of texas and it has been hanging around that area -- excuse me, of florida and then hanging around that area for awhile. you can see new orleans getting a lot of rain on the day today as did areas up near omaha got some heavy rain as that system pushed through there. overnight 80 degrees.
