school. you can see why investigators from phoenix p.d. are still here. it is quite a scene. you are looking at the camry that is parked at 35th avenue and roosevelt. just north on 35th avenue, about 100 yards you see this black car that was the other car involved in the accident. now, we are being told that what happened is the two cars collided and the girl, the pedestrian was hit as a result of that maybe the cars went careening and hit her. we don't know if she was in the roadway, the sidewalk, or in the crosswalk. we're talking about 100 yards of debris. there are windshields, tail you lights that have popped out from the explosive nature of the collision of the two cars and right now phoenix police investigators are, maaing the

3-year-old vanessa is still in a coma. people at pita jungle trying to help the family where her father works. reporter: this is the pita jungle location at 75th avenue and bell. they are calling tonight victory for vanessa and all of the employees will donate their tips. the restaurant is giving 15% of the proceeds back to the family. take a look at this video. a 3-year-old little girl, her name was vanessa and she was hit by a police car. she had just purchased an ice cream and ran across the street near 72nd avenue and camelback when she was going around the ice cream struck. she has been in the hospital in

association sued after the maricopa county judge dismissed their challenge because it was filed too late. the ruling means that voters will decide on that measure in november. speaking of voting, it is primary day in arizona and voters are heading to the polls to vote on several key senate races and city council races. so much going on today. polling places open until 7:00 tonight. voter turnout has been light today nothing like the included a higher than expected turnout because of the presidential primary. i hear it is quiet like no wait. >> reporter: no wait at all, kari. we're at a polling lace at seventh avenue and glendale. i was at the polling place at the presidential preference election.

building. today, they are walking up and casting their ballots. in this primary election, there are 724 polling places that amounts to one polling place for every precinct. no major problems to report. polling places opened 30 minutes late because polling employees were a small percentage of voters show up, most vote early and drop their ballots in the mail. hundreds of thousands of ballots, early ballots have been counted and they are sitting in cardboard boxes. many will be counted tonight. more than 400 early ballots have been turned in and that is according to the county

rush here. polls are open until 7:00 and they are well staffed and not expecting any significant lines. reporting live in phoenix. i'm andrew hasbun, fox 10 news. >> we know john mccain will face a tough challenge in november if he gets that far. he is facing a tough challenge from kelli ward. mccain was up early this morning casting his vote at mountain view christian church in ward casted her vote in lake havasu city. whoever wins today's primary will face ann kirkpatrick who has left her congressional seat. mccain seeking a sixth term in the u.s. senate. maricopa sheriff joe arpaio is facing his toughest re-election, perhaps of his career as he tries to make it a seventh term in always.

marc martinez joins us with more. >> reporter: talk about a dramatic day at chris brown's mansion today. police are still investigating and media in los angeles are reporting that a woman who lives there that brown threatened her with a gun and that is what got this started. fast forward and a swat team is sent out to the house as a precaution. police showed up and they were told they needed a search warrant to come one and a few hours later, half a dozen people were escorted out of the house and interviewed. "tmz" is reporting that they retrieved drugs and a gun out of the home after brown threw out a duffel bag from one of the windows. >> our homicide division is serving a search warrant at mr. brown's location, residence.

are his representatives on scene and they are having people come out of the residence. anybody that is an ok pant of the residence is coming out where we will conduct a protective sweep of the residence. >> reporter: brown is declaring his innocence. he made three videos online while this was going on outside. he is dismissing claims he barricaded inside the home. news helicopters saw him on the front porch talking to the officers. calls and e-mails seeking comments from brown's lawyers and representatives were not returned immediately. this is not brown's first run-in with police. he has been in trouble since 2009 on the assault on his then-girlfriend rihanna. he completed probation on that case last year. marc martinez, fox 10 news. >> a lot of comments about this

the last month and last night they picked up another one. this is a large one and it is seven foot long and it is a boa constrictor. >> all three snakes were found in the same neighborhood. kristy siefkin looked at how the firefighters corralled them. >> reporter: all of the snakes were found near 75th and miller. clearly, this is not their natural habitat. we do know they made it tricky them. imagine finding this slithering across your front lawn. your boa constrictor and two pythons were found within a mile of each other in the past month alone. >> we don't know if someone abandoned them because they could not take care of them anymore. maybe they escaped from a cage.

herpetological society is caring for two of the snakes. two 9-foot long burmese pythons and one 7-foot long redtailed boa. >> it if is a grumpy snake, it is going to give me a bite. >> reporter: they can push outside of their own cages. while the herpetological society gets calls about snakes, it is unusual for them to get three calls about this kind of a snake in one month. >> i'm the youngest one on our crew right now and they sent me to do the job. >> reporter: firefighter kelly ramp said she was excited to catch the boa. >> one of us holding the bag and the other one trying to shove the snake in the bag. >> reporter: both the boa and python safe until the owners

at 105 degrees, the winds are not bad. out east of us, they are purring the dust pretty good. as you you can see right now, 107 at ahwatukee. 104 in surprise. apache junction, 94 degrees right now. here is the moisture coming in on the east side, mostly the northeast side getting hit. get a look at this stuff coming in. a little bit finding its way into the scottsdale area. kind of working south of there as we get you another angle on it as it comes into the valley. we're hanging on here. a lot of this stuff ehave been waits at this time. you can see mesa. we go east a little bit and give you a look at what is back there backing this up. it is pretty good but falling

also, another shot of payson area and out here as we give you a look. that is the stuff that is coming in. here is east mesa as well. so most of this stuff staying east. you see a little bit of it north but what we are seeing is a little bit of dust out there as well. with that in mind, we do have a dust advisory that is going to be around until 6:00 this evening. you can see that stuff on the east side hanging in there. we go to 107 degrees on the high today. temperatures, boy, i tell you, it is hot out there. if you're heading to hawaii this is something you might want to think about. madeleine out there and now look at these lines take us into hawaii that is 110 miles an hour winds.

lester is not quite as strong and moving a little bit more to the north as lester rolls along there. we also have tropical depression number nine down in the gulf. we are dealing tropical depression number eight off of the carolina coast here. we have a lot of active weather out there. 86 degrees. we're looking at 102. more late-week storms in the forecast for you. the temperatures react to that as they as the week wears on.
