they want everyone to focus on safe driving and planning ahead. we'll take a look at the holiday forecast with dave munsey. students stage a walkout in support of a principal who suddenly resigned and now the school board is taking action about the resignation. andrew hasbun has the details. >> reporter: hundreds of students out of class protesting in the center of william fields campus. >> a lot of people are i don't think this is going to stop until the district makes a change. >> reporter: students got the word that the principal submitted her resignation and while rumors are spreading, students say they were not given an official explanation. >> people are mad and frustrated because they know what kind of person she is and they know she stands up for what is right. >> reporter: the walkout was

only on fox, family members of a man shot by police tell us they don't believe their loved one would pull a weapon on a police officer. a patrol officer tried to talk the 23-year-old man who resembled a suspect in a bank robbery. officers say he was not cooperative and would not show when he did, he had a 12-inch kitchen knife. the man lunged at the officer and the officer opened fire. >> the officer opened fire on the suspect ending the threat. >> they said they have a knife, i need to see proof of that knife because he never carries anything with him. >> the 23-year-old man is expected to survive and his

his side of the story out there. the police officer involved in the shooting has been with the department for nine years and has been placed on paid administrative leave pending investigation. two people are hurt when a driver loses control and crashes into a light rail curb then the driver took off. a friend following him in another car convinced him to return to the scene. the driver may have been under the influence. one of the victims trauma but is expected to be ok. the other person suffered minor injuries. police are looking for a man who robbed a chase bank in phoenix. the man robbed the bank near the carefree highway. it is not clear how much money the man got away with but he did not show a weapon and nobody was hurt. the suspect is described as a black or hispanic man and you can see here in these pictures,

charges against sheriff joe arpaio. this stems from the sheriff ignoring the judge's orders in a racial profiling case. two years ago, lawyers were awarded nearly $4.5 million for bringing the case to trial and now the settlement will be subject to a vote by county officials. the head of a school district i apologized to a student after she was banned from wearing a black lives matter tee shirt. the 15-year-old wore a black lives matter shirt to school and said others were harassing her about it. when she went to school officials to complain, they told her not to wear the shirt again. when she wore it again on school picture day, she was given a
